Sprite Master. Prologue

Once upon a time in a world much like our own though the difference would be that this world there werent any humans but anthro versions of the animals that made up the world. Also the world wasnt as advanced as ours not having most of the luxuries we have today. There existed one thing there that was unique. There existed magic in this world and furs that could harness and use magic. There were spirits and guardians of the world. The furs that made contracts with these spirits were known as the spirit masters that kept the balance and watched over the world.
One day a calamity was aprouching and threatened all life in the world. It was tasked with the spirit masters and others to combat this calamaty and protect this world. The battle was long and hard but the furs were victorious and managed to protect and defeat the calamity. Though all battles had their price and this one was no different. The spiritmasters all that went lost their lives to protect this world and the spirits that were their during battle have vanished not to be seen again.
A thousand years have passed since the calamity that threatened the world. The spiritmasters name have been repressed to nothing more of a joke and a legend. The loss of the greatest spiritmasters meant the decline of the craft. The spirit masters now known as sprite masters only able to control small spirit like wisps named sprites are viewed as weak in the current publics eyes. A regular mage is more or less better and need of a healer would ask a cleric or druid for those instead. Though the coming times couldn't prepare anyone for what is going on. Though during these peaceful times the world began to cry out. Scorching hot desserts experienced snow. Bountiful lakes would dry up. Forests would catch fire and burn to ash as ice glaciers would melt in to the sea. Mages and magic users tried to stem and repair but even magic itself was losing its strength and control in these coming not able to repair or even grasp insight to these times. Monsters seem to grow wilder and more ferocious as these natural disasters took hold of the world. Our story starts here.
