18
--Let the Good Times Roll--

The following morning was welcomed with a beautiful azur, lavander, orange, and light red sky. The dragons came back from the cave and reclaimed their homes and belongings from the dino prisoners. Some of the civilians threw stones, bones, spat, or punched them and the children laughed at their misfortune.
The day was ours to celebrate a major push back at the dino's and the start of a crusade. The celebration started in the afternoon after all belongings were returned with the hanging of the prisoners then a big feast. We had about 2 rows of 1000 tables and one long table in front of the 2 rows where the squad and the Elders sat.
"Settle down brothers and sisters settle down." Kiddo announced mannerly. "I would like to say a few words please." We quietly listened. "Thank you. All my life I wondered if there was more of my kind out here somewhere."
Kiddo paused briefly, "Especially because I never known my parents but, since I met Adrian all this came in motion. Destiny and Fate bringing me here to my birth place." He chuckled to himself for a minute, "And if it weren't for Adrian's death I never would have even the slightest idea of who my father was...hmm hmm I feel like a dick for saying that." We laughed a bit and Sasha to my right nudged me laughing and I returned with a light chuckle. "Sorry Adrian."
"He he yeah yeah" Still chuckling I waved my hand around lazily.
"Then Masiaf," He raised his glass up to Masiaf who was hovering above the castle grounds listening to the speech. "Without his inspiration I wouldn't be here."
"You have my thanks for making me feel young again Lord Garrus." He bowed his head.
"Finally Kelsey...who was with me from the start, even if she disguised herself as a snake. Thank you my mate." He leaned down to kiss her.
The two were so happy together; I couldn't help smiling a big smile at them.
The crowd of dragons stood up and cheered as did the squad and I. "COME LET US FEAST! THE DAY IS YOURS!"
The rest of the day we celebrated by dancing, competing, and other assorted activities. I had never had dragonic ale until today boy let me tell ya, it's got one hell of a kick. Like Vodka, Tequila, and an ass kickin', tasted and felt great though. That night, Selina moved the Soul Calibur over the city and turned on the 5; 30x40 size speakers and subs that Slippy installed and turned on search lights for ambiance. The first dance we did was a jive to Elvis Presley's "Ain't Nothin' but a Hound Dog"
They danced so wild but had great rhythm to the beat. The rest of the night was great, we had 2 guitars, 1 bass, a drum set, and a mic. I got Kiddo on the mic, Falco on the bass, Fox on lead guitar, Gun on the drums and I played rhythm guitar and played Peter Frampton's "Do You Feel Like I Do." They went wild and swayed to it. Once we finished the song Fox and I had a Guitar duel that he won. He's like Steve Vai and Joe Satriani mixed.
Finally after hours upon hours of celebrating, drinking, and rocking out, I returned to my quarters and sunk in my bed. "Ah...feels like I haven't slept in a week."
Sasha walked in and got on top of me, "Technically you haven't slept in day's babe."
I smiled up at her and kissed her lightly, "Hehe very true. Did you see their faces?"
"I know right?! They finally know what it feels like to fight for themselves."
I smiled warmly and looked into her eyes. She reached her hand up to my muzzle and caressed it. I purred rubbing my face into the palm of her hand and she smiled tenderly. I gazed down at her with my large blue eyes and I saw her soul gleaming and blinding my heart with a unimaginable love. This feeling came over me, like an overwhelming uplift of happiness, like I literally had nothing to worry about, no burdens, no wars, no politics, just Sasha and I.
"Adrian..." Sasha whispered.
"Sasha..." I whispered.
"Adrian. I got something to say."
"Of course love."
"Adrian...I'm...I'm pregnant." She whispered.
Oh my god, I was thinking to myself. "What?! How?!"
"When we tied that one night. It going to be a dragonling." She sounded enchanted at the thought.
I was kind of the opposite, not now at least. "Sasha...I'm sorry. I should have been more careful."
She reached out and kissed me a affectionately. I felt myself drain of energy and sink into the kiss. "Don't be babe. It's ok, after all you wanted this right."
I couldn't say no. We are a mated pair and now I found someone else to fight for, a child. I glazed into her eyes, feeling her heart beat against my body ever so unvarying, clear-cut. I heard her thoughts say I love you Adrian and I told her I loved her too.
The remainder of the night we just held each other close and talking about our family.
"So if it's a boy?" She asked.
"Mmm how's about...Chris?" I glared at her with an are you serious look. "Ok ok um...Oh Nathan!"
"Mmm Nathan Dustan Raines. I like the sound of that."
She giggled, "Ok now if it's a girl?"
I thought hard about the name, "Oh got the perfect name...Sasha Beatrix Raines."
She nuzzled close to me and stared at me through the corners of her eyes, "I love it..."
I purred warmly and made my chest rumble, it made Sasha giggle lightly and squirm in my arms. It tickled her and I prolonged the purring and she wriggle and twist, "Where do you think you're going hmm?"
Without hesitation she began to laugh out loud, "Ha-ha! Adrian stop it!"
I snickered, "Why?"
"Hehe ha-ha please! I'm gonna piss myself!" Tears began to shed from laughing to hard.
I snickered once more and let her free to go to the bathroom. She shot off the bed and sprinted to the bathroom and slammed the door. I laughed to myself and crossed my arms behind my back, what a great life I've got I thought. Then the thought of Jeremy Bain came to my head, he is still the main threat. He has a Dragon God inside him and I don't know the first thing on Dragon God extermination, and even if I did know how to at what cost?
Sasha came out of the bathroom and jumped on top of me. Her hips meeting mine, her long purple hair thrown to her left looking down at me with her big green eyes. "You suck Adrian," she pushed my body into the bed playfully and noticed that she had broken a deep thinking process "What what were you thinking about?"
"Oh nothing."
She poke my snout, "Uh huh right. Adrian you're so easy, I know when your thinking about something and I can literally see your thoughts...you were thinking about Jeremy Bain and The Darkness."
"So the joining thing is true. We can hear each other's thoughts, and feel what the other feels..."
She pinched her arm with her razor-like nails and I felt the exact same in mine, "Don't change the subject, tell me about what you were thinking or I do it again."
"Ok ok. I was thinking about how I am supposed to eradicate The Darkness. And figure out Jeremy's motives."
"Why you mean?"
"Yeah...I mean why wipe out an entire species off the face of the galaxy? Why have a dark entity inside him? And at what cost?"
"Don't think about things like that Adrian...you always had the weight of the galaxy on your back and you need a relief."
I stood up and walked to the window and gazed up at the moon, thinking deeply, "No...I...I can't take a break...not until Bain is gone and The Darkness is back in the Dragon Gods prison or destroyed."
I continued to stare at the great ball of light in the midnight sky, gorgeous as it looked it still made me wonder about the war, the Dragon species, the Dragon Gods and my team.
"This is a far-fetched game we're playing Sasha...I just don't want to screw this up like I did with Samantha..."
I felt her tender, loving hands place on my chest, her chest resting against my wings and her arms wrapped around me. Adrian I know it's a lot to think about. I don't want you to screw it up either. We just need to hold on a little longer. She nuzzled against me holding me close to her and in that split second, we felt so much love between each other. Lost in space and time, not in the past, present, or future; just there caught in a recurring dream made into reality. Nothing was going to come between us.

Fox stood observing the steady unceasing current of the small river. The mirror image expressing a more melodramatic and depressing Fox.
Thoughts of his old life rushed throughout his heavy mind, all the battles fought and Krystal.
Krystal, his catcher in the rye, his exact equal, the love of his life. The picture held showed the two holding each other in an loving embrace. He remembered her touch, how sensitive her fur was and the aroma she gave off and how it would send him into state of sheer bliss, finally her taste of her lips so bitter sweet.
Fox inhaled a familiar scent among the fresh green grass and lush forest, it was Falco. Falco sat down at the edge of the river not looking at Fox, "Still thinking about her I see."
Fox nodded, "Yeah...I...I cannot seem to get over her Falco. She's all I had and she left me." Krystal left had left him and the Starfox team to join Starwolf.
Falco picked up a petite pebble and flung it into the water making it skip twice. "You got to stop this Fox. She's gone and probably not coming back. Especially if she left to join Starwolf."
"She could've said good-bye at least!"
"But she didn't Fox! If a woman leaves without saying good-bye then she doesn't want to be with you."
"HOW WOULD YOU KNOW?! You never had someone to love!" The night grew silent. Not even the chirp of a frog or the hum of a fly. "Falco...I..."
"Don't man..." He sighed in frustration and discontent. "Why do we do this? Fight like this? Every time have a conversation we always fight about something."
"Because it's us. We just do. It's in our blood and you of all should know that."
Falco stood up and turned to Fox, "We should get some rest. We got some long days ahead of us."
Fox hugged Falco in brotherly way, "Thanks Falco...you always had my back no matter what."
"No matter what." Falco whispered. The two walked back to the ship ready for the days to come.

He stood viewing the city streets, how it was illuminated in the already moonlight night. He gazed at his people, his heart filled with pride and his mind finally absolved. A smirk came to him as he felt his mate hug him from behind, "Oh Kelsey look at this! It's spectacular! I've never felt this before!"
Kelsey was ecstatic in her voice, "I'm so proud of you Kiddo. For all you have done for my people."
"Our people, Kelsey."
"Your people...They are yours to do as you please."
"And that makes me feel guilty." Kiddo said with a hint of remorse.
"How so love?" Kelsey seemed a bit worried now.
"Well...I was a slave...on The Ark. A wolf was my master, which is until Adrian came along. And now that I'm King it just feels like I'm that wolf."
"Don't feel like that," She moved in front of Kiddo and kissed lightly. "They don't feel like their being controlled at all. They feel like their being lead by an spectacular dragon that finally found a purpose in life. They love you Kiddo and they'll follow you to hell and beyond." She thrown her arms around his neck and stroked his mane.
Kiddo embraced the loving hug and encased her in his wings. He began to massage her shoulders and nibble at her neck lightly. She giggled at the delight which only made Kiddo nibble more.
Kelsey began to cry out now, "Ah Kiddo!" She retreated to the sky and Kiddo followed close behind her trying to catch her. Kelsey bolted soaring high and hasty with Kiddo to her right barley breaking a sweat.
"Falling behind?" Kiddo joked. Kelsey glared at him then immediately she pushed her wings hard and broke the sound barrier. "Whoa! Now we're talking!" monkey see, monkey do but, in this case two dragons that are infatuated with each other. Kiddo mired Kelsey and they opened up their wings slightly to slow down. The stroke of midnight finally hit and the full moon at its highest. Suddenly their wings slanted up and both ascended into the midnight sky.
Once they slowed down completely, they started their decent in a dive bomb. The two without saying anything through mouth or mind began to barrel roll around one another, each gyration brought the lovers closer and closer. Now only arms distance, Kelsey reached her arms out to Kiddo unknowingly and hers to his.
The two locked talons together, "Whoa! What are you doing?"
"A Dragon Courtship Dance. To show that we truly trust and love each other." Kelsey shouted through the piercing wind.
Kiddo nodded and thought, The ultimate form of trust is a dive bomb straight to the ground...ok lets go for it. Every spin, every gust of wind that rushed by them brought them closer and closer to the ground. Their hearts beat steadily, no fear.
The ground finally came and the two pulled up sharply, spewing a stream of flame onto the ground to signify the courtship ritual had succeeded.
Kiddo and Kelsey flow back to the King's room of the castle and dropped to the bed, holding each other closer than ever. "Kiddo...don't ever let me go." She whispered.
"I won't." Kiddo whispered as well.
"P...promise?"
"I promise. With all my heart." Kelsey looked up at him with innocent eyes and cried noiseless but, easy. She was Kiddo's whole world now but, he couldn't help to feel like he known about her along. Like he knew her as a child.
