Well, this is one of the more adult-oriented stories that I've written since I originally stopped using this site, but I figured everyone here would like to have a look anyway! I'll be uploading a second one tomorrow with the last chapter of Project?Eternity, so keep an eye out! :D

It's maybe not quite as well written as my novel-in-progress, but I hope you still enjoy it!

The sun was barely grazing the horizon as a dropship silently approached the rocky surface of Phaeton. Dust and sand swirled around the LZ as it made its descent, before it landed with a heavy thud on the rock. The engines shut down with a loud whine as the loading ramp of the ship opened, revealing two armour-clad figures, each with a large C-10 canister rifle in their arms. They viewed the dusty valley around them through their combat visors and slowly disembarked, swinging their rifles in sweeping arcs, making sure that there were no unwelcome surprises awaiting them.

Once the two Ghosts were confident that they would be undisturbed, at least for the moment, they set up a motion tracker in the middle of the clearing, alongside a holographic communicator. On cue, the projector flickered to life, creating the image of an Adjutant in a ghostly, otherworldly green just above its base. At this, both of the Ghosts lifted their visors, revealing their faces to the Adjutant more out of formality than respect. One of the pair was an otter, pink furred and with her hair done up in a high ponytail, while the other was a brown-furred fox, the tips of her ears crimson, matching her back-length hair which itself ended with crimson tips.

"Agents X50984A and X60132C, please stand by for your orders," the Adjutant instructed as the two Ghosts exchanged slightly nonplussed looks, before the vixen flicked her gaze back to the motion sensor momentarily. The image of the Adjutant changing to that of their operator drew her attention back to the projector.

"Alright girls," their operator, a short, partially balding marine began, "Here are your objectives: Perform recon to ascertain the presence of Zerg infestation. If there is an infestation, we need to know how bad it is". He looked away from them momentarily and appeared to be shuffling through some papers before him. "Current intel on Phaeton is as follows: Following the attack on the terrorist forces of Jim Raynor at Research Station EB-103, we lost all contact with ground units stationed on Phaeton. It is suspected that Kerrigan is responsible, which has been subsequently corroborated by survivors we picked up. Her current whereabouts are unknown; mission priority if she is spotted will be shifted to elimination."

At this, both Ghosts nodded, it sounded like fairly standard recon. "Sir, should we attempt to locate survivors?" the otter asked, but all three of them knew how unlikely there would be, given the Zerg's reputation for effectively consuming the ecosystems of whole planets.

"Location of survivors has been designated priority epsilon; if you come across any survivors during your recon, alert us, and move on. Do not attempt to make contact. Secrecy is of your utmost concern; no-one is to know you're here, especially the Zerg."

With that, the transmission faded into nothingness, leaving the two Ghosts in the dying light. They sighed and looked at each other, "Well Chloe, this is gunna be interesting..." the otter commented as they both stood up and walked back to their dropship, pulling out various supplies that they'd need for an extended recon mission.

The vixen shrugged and pulled out a frag grenade, "Eh, I swear, the only interesting thing here is going to be the sand, Kayla," she commented, tucking the explosive into a pouch around her waist, before grabbing a few stim packs, "This whole mission just feels bizarre to me. I mean, those survivors we interrogated, they said that Kerrigan was actually _leading_the Zerg forces that overwhelmed them? But they also said she was human again? Nothing here makes any sense..."

Kayla just chuckled to herself and patted the vixen on the shoulder, "Hey, I guess that's our job, eh? To figure out the things that the rank-and-file can't?"

With that, Chloe smirked a little and tossed the otter a spare clip for her rifle, "You all set?" she asked, slinging her rifle across her back and picking up the motion sensor.

Kayla nodded and grabbed the transmitter, stowing it back inside the dropship as she slung her rifle across her back as well, before sealing the ramp shut. They both walked over to the edge of the clearing and squeezed between a rocky outcropping; by now, the sun had all but set, leaving the rocky valley shrouded in darkness. They both dropped their visors and activated its low-vision mode, then started hiking through the valley towards the nearby settlement.

An hour into the hike, Chloe glanced over at Kayla. Of course, being Ghosts, neither of those were their real names; being inducted into the Ghost program had forced them both to endure many, many memory wipes as the Confederacy, and subsequently the Dominion, enforced regular wipes as part of their standard operating protocol. It was also quite rare for multiple Ghosts to work together as most tend to be loners, despising contact with others, and especially other Ghosts. However, for whatever reason, both of them worked extraordinarily well together, leading them to assume that whoever they were before becoming Ghosts, they had known each other quite well. But at this point, that was a story that only their personal files could tell.

Another hour of trudging through the darkness and the two Ghosts had progressed from rocky valley to countless sand dunes. According to the map displayed in the HUDs of their visors, they were fast approaching the remnants of the Drakken pulse cannon that had been set up to catch stragglers from the attack on the terrorist base. They slowed down and activated their personal cloaks before advancing, nearing a rocky ridge that overlooked the Dominion base where the cannon was located. They soon drew their rifles and went prone, crawling along the rocky ground towards the edge and peered down.

The whole base was devastated. Dilapidated buildings were in various states of damage, vehicles were scattered every which way, and the corpses of easily hundreds of marines were strewn across the concrete, stained dark red from the blood of the brave soldiers hewn in defence of the Dominion. Chloe cursed under her breath as she surveyed the damage, before keying her communicator, "Command, this is Recon Actual. We've reached the base, and it's as bad as we feared: completely destroyed. We'll run a quick recon, see if we can dig up any more intel, then move out again."

"Rodger that, Recon Actual," came the reply, "Stay safe and stay hidden,"

With that, Chloe tapped Kayla on the shoulder, "Alright, this is how we're going to play it," she began, "I'll approach from the north, you from the north-east. Keep your cloak up, check your corners, and we might just live through this...".

Chloe climbed to her feet after making sure her cloak was still running, before starting to circle the base a short way. Meanwhile, Kayla behind her waited, keeping her eyes trained firmly on the base in front of them, scanning for any sign of movement. Once her partner had arrived at her insertion point, she climbed to her feet and prepared to make her approach.

Both of them raised their rifles as they slowly advanced on the ruins of the base, constantly scanning for movement as they wound their way through the tilted and destroyed buildings. Kayla circled the remnants of the cannon and moved towards the ruins of some bunkers, while Chloe approached a few buildings which had some semblance of structural stability left. The vixen approached a ladder on the side of a barracks building and quickly glanced around. She slung her rifle across her back and pulled a pistol from its holster on her hip, before starting to climb up the ladder. Kayla had reached the bunkers and was peering inside when her visor picked up a biosign from inside one of them. She immediately keyed her communicator, "Command, this is Recon Two, I think I have a survivor, going in for a closer look; the signal's weak."

Chloe was half-way up the ladder when she heard Kayla's comm, immediately sliding back down the ladder and glancing worriedly in her direction, "Hold up, Kayla, it could be Zerg!" she hurriedly said, swinging her rifle back around and moving cautiously but quickly in the direction of the otter.

"Don't worry, there's only one, even if it is Zerg, I can handle it!" came the reply as Kayla slid into the bunker through one of the firing ports, wrenched open by some unknown, formidable force. As she surveyed the bunker, something caught her eye; one of the marines lying prone, face-down on the paristeel floor, had his suit's turbine heat vents still running. While that usually wouldn't raise an eyebrow, standard marine combat suits were designed to completely shut down in the event of user death.

She slowly approached the marine, her gun trained squarely on his head the whole time. As she closed within a metre of the prone figure, she deactivated her cloak, "Marine, can you hear me?" she asked quietly.

She leapt backwards with a yelp as the marine suddenly lunged at her, "You'll never take me!" came the frenzied reply, "You can't take me, turn me into more of those... Those things!" Kayla stared down at him, he was obviously delusional, but something felt... Off... More so than this whole situation already was.

Chloe, by this point, was already half-way to the bunkers when her HUD flared up; Zerg biosigns. All around the bunkers. Hundreds of them. "Kayla!" she cried out, completely forgoing any attempt at continued stealth to try to warn her partner of her impending danger.

Kayla knew she was in a world of hurt. She could see the ground around her writhing, Zerg biosigns like a carpet around the bunker in her HUD. She snarled and activated her cloak, knowing it would buy her a few, precious seconds at least. She climbed up on top of the bunker and looked around, trying to see where the Zerg were fewest, before leaping.

Well, she would have, had the marine not grabbed her leg at that point, seemingly having realised that she wasn't Zerg, "P-please don't leave me!" he stammered, "I don't wanna die!"

She glanced down at him, then to the roiling ground around them. "I'm sorry..." she said softly as she pulled her sidearm, before promptly driving a bullet into his skull, sending him flailing backwards and collapsing against the wall of the bunker. She holstered her gun again and climbed back to her feet, but as she readied to jump, the first of the Zerg started to emerge. She immediately swung her rifle off her back and started shooting, sending 25mm anti-personnel slugs through the skulls of emerging Zerglings with pin-point precision.

Chloe saw the Zerg emerge around the bunker and immediately reached into her combat webbing, pulling out a grenade. She keyed her comm, "Kayla, I'm about to frag on your 8 o'clock. Try to make a run for it!" she instructed, before pulling the pin and throwing.

As soon as Kayla heard Chloe say frag, she spun around and oriented herself. As the grenade exploded, she took a running leap across the crater. She landed with a roll and sprung back up to her feet, and would have continued running had a Hydralisk not emerged right in front of her. The last thing she saw was its limb swinging towards her face, then nothing but blackness.

Chloe both heard and saw the grenade go off, and saw at least a dozen Zerg biosigns wink out of existence, but she couldn't see Kayla. She saw her biosign, but she appeared prone, unconscious, maybe, or... No, she couldn't be dead, her biosign was still there... But with the Zerg swarming around her, she was as good as dead... For that matter, so was she, there was no way she could get back to the shuttle without being outrun. There was only one thing left for it, take out as many of them as possible; the Zerg knew that there was someone else there, and it would only be a matter of time before Overseers arrived.

She pulled out her rifle and started lining up shots, executing Zergling and Hydralisk alike with brutal efficiency. A guttural growl caught her attention and she spotted them; Overseers, flying in from wherever the hive was located. She tried keying her comm, but all she heard was static; they must be jamming her. As one, the host of Zerg turned to face her as the Overseers came into range.

"Shit..." Chloe cursed as she raised her gun towards the nearest Hydralisk, firing a few shots in rapid succession as the swarm of Zerglings in front of her charged. She pulled out another grenade and tossed it, managing to catch a few Zerg inside its blast radius, but it was too little too late... She was tackled to the ground by countless Zerglings and saw no more...

Kayla came to, awaking with a startled yelp, and her head throbbing in pain. She took stock of her surroundings and was promptly taken aback; the walls, floor and roof of her cell were all slimy, pulsating, alive. She shuddered, knowing exactly where she was: Inside the main Zerg hive... And she knew what the Zerg had in store for her, the same thing that awaited every captured Terran: infestation. She looked down; her HEV suit was shredded like ribbons, and the cloak generator was gone too, so there was no easy way out. All she could do was hope that an opportunity presented itself. She was worried about Chloe though, not knowing whether her partner made it out alive, had been killed, or had been captured much like herself.

Some time passed, Kayla wasn't exactly sure how long, it was hard to keep track in the cell she was trapped in. Eventually, part of the wall melted away, for lack of a better word, leaving her face to face with a snarling Hydralisk. However, it didn't seem to make a move at her. If anything, it seemed to be waiting. Left with little to no choice, she slowly rose to her feet, cautiously following the Hydralisk when it started to move off. She trudged for several minutes after the Zerg, the hot, damp air inside the Hive causing her fur to clump in places, before she emerged into a large, cavernous room, which she could only assume was in the dead centre of the massive structure. Almost unknown to her, the Hydralisk slipped out, leaving her alone in the room.

Unlike the rest of the Hive, which felt stifling, humid and still, this cavern was cold, and a chill wind blew, causing her to tremble as it washed over her clumped fur. She wrapped her arms around herself to try to keep warm (and to preserve some modicum of decency) and looked around nervously. She felt entirely too exposed in here. She closed her eyes and reached out psionically, trying to sense something, anything, that might give her hope.

No-one's coming for you...

Kayla glanced around nervously; did she just hear someone?

You're all alone... Abandoned... Cast away, like so much useless garbage...

She folded her ears back and started backing towards a wall, "Who's there?!" she cried out

You aren't the only one the Dominion abandoned, and you won't be the last... But that's what I am going to change...

Kayla heard a loud fwump behind her and spun around. There she stood; Sarah Kerrigan, the Queen of Blades, ruler of the Swarm. In all her terrible and ruthless glory. And looking decidedly _un_human. She swore under her breath, "So much for accurate intel..." she muttered, looking Kerrigan up and down.

Kerrigan chuckled softly and flexed her wings, "What, you mean this?" she asked in a soft, almost alluring, tone, "This was... Relatively recent". She folded her wings behind her back and stared down at the otter, "I'm sure you're wondering why you've been brought before me?" she commented, reaching out with a taloned claw and tilting Kayla's head up towards her, staring deep into her eyes.

Kayla held that stare and growled softly, "You're not getting any information out of me," she replied, "You might as well infest me and get it over with, I'm not going to beg for your satisfaction."

Kerrigan chuckled again, a little louder this time and more menacingly, "Oh, I don't need information," she quipped, "But I might take you up on that offer...". As she said that, she shoved the poor otter towards the centre of the room with a psionically enhanced push, sending her sprawling on the soft, pulsating floor towards a pile of eggs. She strutted over, each movement a deliberate motion, each step more threatening than the last. As she reached Kayla, she pulled her upwards psionically, before dropping her in front of her, the otter landing on her knees and staring up at Kerrigan.

Kayla growled up at her, but inside, she was utterly terrified... She didn't know how much it would hurt, and it more than likely would hurt. What would be left of her? Would she be forced to watch her body act beyond her control, slaughtering those whom she swore to protect? Or would her consciousness be snuffed out, leaving her body a corpse controlled by the Swarm? Her train of thought was interrupted by Kerrigan gripping her face with her taloned hand.

"Before we begin... I want to show you just what and who you've been fighting to protect..." Kerrigan said, before Kayla's vision went black. Within moments, her sight had returned, but she wasn't in the Hive, she was on another planet. She saw someone, a Ghost, crouched behind a wall, firing haphazardly into an incoming wave of Zerg. The Ghost reached up and keyed her communicator, "Uhh, boys? About that evac?" she heard the voice ask, and Kayla immediately recognised it as that of Kerrigan. She heard someone else, a man, though she couldn't see anyone, "Don't do this!" she heard him plead, before a third, far more familiar voice replied, "It's done. Move the fleet out of orbit.". She watched as Kerrigan tried the comms again, before letting her rifle fall to the ground. Within moments, she was overwhelmed by the Zerg.

With a gasp, Kayla fell backwards as Kerrigan released her grip, still reeling from what she saw. "Eight billion people died that day, because of Mengsk..." she heard Kerrigan say, and she slowly climbed back to her knees to look up at her.

"I... I didn't know..." Kayla replied, completely dumbfounded, "I-I don't know what to say".

Kerrigan turned around, her back now towards the kneeling otter, "It's because of his actions that Tarsonis is a wasteland... It's the reason that I'm like this... And it's the reason countless billions of people have been slain..."

She paused for a moment, before turning back to face Kayla, "In any case, I'm sure you're getting bored of the monologuing," she said, clicking her fingers.

Kayla felt her blood run cold and tried to get up, but found that her legs below the knee had sunk into the floor, effectively pinning them there. She looked up at Kerrigan, but to her surprise, she had vanished from in front of her. She glanced around the room nervously and spotted her kneeling by the pile of eggs, seeming to be picking one out from the clutch.

Kerrigan finally decided on one and picked it up, returning to Kayla with it and setting it on the ground in front of her, "Now, I will admit, this isn't usually how the Zerg infest Terrans, but I've got a special use for you in mind..." she commented, before moving the egg between Kayla's spread legs.

Kayla whimpered furiously, both out of embarrassment and disgust; what the hell was Kerrigan doing? She wasn't left wondering long as she felt the floor beneath her start to shift, pressing the egg, about the size of her head, against her nethers. It felt slimy against her fur, and everywhere the slime touched left her skin burning with need. She growled and tried to pull her legs free again, but to no avail. She went to reach down to move it away, but before she could do much more than reach, Kerrigan was on her, pinning her arms behind her back.

"Shhh..." she whispered, "Relax and enjoy it... It's not going to hurt... Much..." she added with a menacing snicker, leaving the otter to squirm and writhe desperately.

The floor between her legs shifted upwards achingly slowly. It breached her lips and started spreading her wide. The egg started with a tapered point, but very quickly grew wide. But at the same time, despite how much pain she should have been in from how widely she was being stretched, it didn't hurt. She could feel it, by god could she feel it, but it just felt like the pain receptors in that part of her body had been shut off. She could feel it inch further and further inside her passage, before she felt the tip nudge against her cervix with a good few centimetres of the egg still outside her. She grunted as the egg got forced further and further past her cervix, her vagina eventually closing around the egg, swallowing it whole and causing her internal muscles to try pulling it deeper. And deeper it slid, causing the poor otter to writhe and moan in ecstasy as her cervix was spread to an insanely wide diameter, before the egg slid entirely inside her womb, her cervix snapping shut behind it.

With a loud huff, she fell to the floor, her legs and arms released as she reached down to lightly press at her extremely gravid-looking belly, "W-what did you do to me?" she stammered, looking up at Kerrigan.

Kerrigan chuckled and knelt down beside her, pressing a hand against the egg inside her, "Ensuring the future of the Swarm..." she replied softly, before Kayla felt the egg twitch and shift inside her.

She felt something moving inside the egg... A lot of somethings, actually, all trying to get out. She felt a hole being punched through the egg and felt countless things spill out into her womb. She cried out in terror and thrashed around on the floor when she felt them burrowing into her flesh, merging with her, starting to change her. The fur along her torso, abdomen and back were quickly replaced by chitinous plates, her digits grew menacing talons, and she felt her psionic powers burgeon. Not only that, but she could hear... Something? Whispers on the edge of her mind, and if she focussed hard enough, she could make out individual voices, hear what they heard, saw what they saw, felt what they felt. She glanced up at Kerrigan questioningly.

"I intend to unleash the full might of the Swarm against Mengsk, and Amon after him..." Kerrigan said in reply to Kayla's gaze, "And while I have full faith in Zagara to lead the Swarm in my stead, should something happen to me, I need someone to expand our territory into the unknown sectors. A brood mother won't cut it,"

Kayla stared at Kerrigan, surprised beyond anything else, "You want me to lead the Swarm into the uncharted sectors?" she repeated, certain she had heard wrong.

Kerrigan smirked, "At least you can still hear correctly," she jibed, before turning her back to Kayla, still lying on the ground, "I need to go, I have a score to settle... I would suggest you find someone to be your second in command before leaving," she suggested, before walking out.

Kayla blinked a few times, a paw resting on her gravid belly, still trying to process everything that had just happened to her... It was surprisingly easy, for the most part, up until being placed in command of a portion of the Swarm and charged with expanding into unknown space. Her thoughts drifted back to Chloe, wondering if she survived at all. The instant she thought of Chloe, two things sprang to mind; first was where she was, in the cell opposite the one she had been kept in earlier, and two, memories of a long, long time ago, before they were Ghosts... They were teenage friends who had fallen for each other... They kept it, and their powers secret for so many years before they were discovered and sent to be turned into Ghosts... Because of the Dominion, they had lost any chance of a normal life... But because of the Dominion, they were being put in a position none had ever been in before.

She closed her eyes and reached out through the swirling vortex that was the collective consciousness of the Swarm and opened her cell. She smirked a little and sat up, resting against the remaining eggs as she waited for her partner to return to her...

Chloe had been awake for some time when her cell opened. She was in much the same condition as Kayla had been; shredded HEV suit, no cloak generator, and was in no position to fight. When the wall opened, she peered outside, surprised to not see anyone around. She was trying to decide what to do when she felt a presence in her mind, one that was so familiar it was unmistakeable: Kayla. She closed her eyes and reached out psionically, trying to find her missing companion, or at the very least, the route she took to get where she was now. Nodding, she cautiously left the cell and started retracing her path, making absolutely sure that she wasn't spotted.

After a few minutes of cautiously creeping along, however, she became concerned at the severe lack of resistance encountered; after all, she was in a Hive, right? Surely there would be at least SOME Zerg inside, right? She slowly approached the central chamber, apprehension growing in her heart as she stepped into the large cavernous room. She stuck to the shadows as best as she could, before spotting someone slumped in the centre, shadows casted over most of their body. After quickly scanning the room for anyone else, she slowly approached the prone figure.

"Kayla? Is that you?" she asks softly, her heart lifting a little as she saw an ear twitch at the sound of the name, the figure's back to her, "Please, god, tell me you're alright?". As she approached, however, something felt off... Why was she slumped like that? Where was everyone? What was going on? Chloe slowly circled around them, before gasping as she saw Kayla's transformation.

Kayla suddenly reached out towards her, "Chloe, wait!" she cried out, seeing her terrified expression, "Let me explain!"

Chloe started backing away, "No, no, this can't be happening!" she whimpered as she sank to the soft, fleshy floor, sobbing a little.

Kayla crawled over to her, her heavy belly swaying beneath her as she moved next to Chloe, "You don't understand, Mengsk, he did it! He was the one responsible for Tarsonis, Kerrigan, all of that! It was because of him and his blasted Dominion that we were forced to forget everything about us! We were lovers, Chloe, before we were conscripted!" she said, before pulling the vixen into a kiss. In that moment, their minds connected and Chloe saw it all laid out before her, saw what happened to Kerrigan, to Tarsonis, then to both of them...

Chloe broke the kiss and looked at her partner, now lover, "W-what are we going to do now then?" she asked haltingly, looking at her transformed companion.

"I've been given a mission by the Queen of Blades, my dear, and I want you to come with me... I've been tasked with spreading the Swarm into the unknown space around the Koprulu sector, and I need someone I can trust by my side," Kayla replied, "Will you come with me?"

Chloe sighed and looked at her, then looked around the chamber, "Heh, I guess I don't really have anywhere else to go, do I?" she asked, giving a half-hearted chuckle. She reached down to rest a paw of her own on Kayla's belly, "Should I ask about this?" she queried, causing the otter to smile.

"Well, maybe... At the end of the day, did you want to become more like me, now?" she asked, to which the vixen nodded. Kayla smiled and pulled her close, kissing her gently on the lips as her paws roamed over the vixen's body, brushing the remaining rags of her suit free from her form.

Chloe pressed into the kiss, parting her lips and making out with Kayla firmly, one paw resting on her gravid belly while the other lightly caressed the chitin coating her torso. They stayed like that for a while, time losing all meaning in each other's arms as they held each other, before they finally broke the kiss. Chloe grinned and rubbed lower down Kayla's belly, caressing it lovingly, before reaching down to rub in small circles around the otter's clit, causing her to squirm and moan in pleasure against her. She smiled and kissed lightly at Kayla's neck, then slid a pair of fingers deep inside her drooling snatch, making her spread her legs instinctively.

Chloe sees this and smirks, shifting around so that her own needy slit was pressed up against Kayla's, before starting to grind and buck at each other, causing them both to moan and pant in ecstasy. Kayla looked over at Chloe with lust-filled eyes and pants softly, "A-are you ready?" she moans, barely waiting for Chloe's affirmative nod before closing her eyes and relaxing her body. The larvae remaining inside her left over from her own conversion started squirming against her cervix, eventually pushing out down her canal. With a loud huff, she grinds even harder, before the head of one of the larvae pushed out of Kayla's pussy and straight into Chloe's. At this, the vixen gasps loudly in surprise and moans, too overwhelmed with sensations at this point to form any rational response.

The larva squirms its way up Chloe's passage, quickly followed by another, and another, until Kayla's belly had all but returned to normal, and Chloe was now the one who was quite gravid. Like what happened with Kayla, Chloe felt the larvae bury their way into the walls of her womb, invading her body and starting to transform her. Unlike Kayla, her transformation was more extensive, going from just under her breasts all the way down. They had even modified her womb and ovaries, giving her the ability to birth larvae suitable for creating new broods by herself.

They both collapsed after they finished and cuddled up to each other, both of them panting hotly as Chloe rested her head on Kayla's chest, "T-that was interesting..." Chloe pants, reaching down to lightly rub at her belly.

Kayla smiled down at her lover and kissed between her ears, "Just know that your queen will always love you..." she whispered.

Chloe smiled back and nuzzled up under her chin, "And your loyal broodmother will always be by your side..." she replied.
