#1 of The Kinotama Story: A Man, A Mage, A Legend.

Just another day in Furcadia? Psh, you wish. August 23, 2003 was a day that would live in infamy in the online roleplaying world of Furcadia, for on this day, he made his way onto the scene. Who is he? He is Daniel Arthur Kinotama, a demon in disguise. Well, not really a demon in diguise, but that's what some seemed to think at first. As he was un-ceremoniously plopped into the Vinca Nexus, he looked around, really unsure of what to do.

He was dressed about as simple as anyone could be, with dark purple pants and t-shirt. Black army boots adorned his feet, as a clawed, black paw ran through waist-length silver hair. His hazel eyes scanned around, seeing plenty of other creatures. Cute kitties, musclar dragons, beautiful phoenixes, and majestic gryphons...Or gryffes, as he came to understand they were called.

An instinct told him to head into one of the shiny circles, of which had many labels. There was one that intruiged him the most as he walked over to it, his head tilting slightly as he read the label. "Furrabian Nights, huh? Over eighteen? Heh, I've got that down." He muttered as he looked down into the circle. Being of many millenia of age, twenty-one to be precise, he would be perfectly fine.

A passerby spotted him looking at the mysterious circle, and Dan was sure a grin had passed over his face. After a moment of pause, he found himself stepping into a bright light, then landing smack-dab in the middle of a crowded cafe-type area. He took a seat quickly, not wanting to be shoved into another one of those strange circles. "Phew... That was strange..." He muttered to himself as he checked the labels of the other circles around.

"They're called portals, hun." A large, female dragon would whisper to him.

"Portals?" He questioned, looking up to the dragon.

"Yes, they're links between this world and other worlds called Dreams."

"Dreams, huh?"

"Yup. My favorite is down further, sandwiched between the pond and the building." She would point out a portal labeled, The Slave Chambers.

"The... SLAVE Chambers?" Dan would question, an eyebrow raised. "Wasn't slavery... Abolished, or something along those lines?"

"Well, in some places, yes. But it's not as bad as it sounds, believe me. These slaves don't pick cotton or anything like that. Most of them end up being yiff pets."

"Yiff... Pets?" Dan would question once again.

"You really are new, aren't you?"

"Just started today!"

"Hm, fresh meat. We might get to be good friends. The name's Ali Alicia. Just call me Ali." She would extend her hand to him with a smile.

"Ah, Ali. It's a pleasure to meet you. The name's Dan, Dan Kinotama." He took her hand, placing an ever-so-soft kiss upon it.

"And such the gentleman, too! I'm sure you'll get along just fine."

Dan would blush softly. "Heh... Thanks." Ali would point over towards another portal, this one called A Barefoot Paradise Bar.

"That's another one. My son owns the place, but I'm not a big fan of it."

"Ah, well... Thank you so much, Ali!"

"Any time, hun! Just be careful. Tiga, my son, and Jyn, my daughter, have rather short fuses. Best not to light them."

"Roger that." And with that, Dan would rise from his seat, weaving between random people and portals, to step into ABPB.

Welcomed by a bot of the same name, Dan marveled at the design of the floor, the walls, the chairs, everything. It was all so... So integrated. It all worked very well. Picking himself, and brushing himself off (he still wasn't used to this whole portal thing), he walked over to, and plopped down at, the bar.

He looked around, still slightly in shock at the sheer beauty of the place, when he was approached by a canine, apparently a bartender. "Hello, there! The name's Cerberos, what can I get you?"

"Ah, well... Surprise me."

Cerb would give a chuckle, watching him. "Surprise you? You haven't been here long, have you?"

"No, no, not really. I've only just gotten into the area today. I'm still trying to figure out the whole portals and dreams thing."

"Ah, so I see. Well, welcome to Furcadia, and welcome to Barefoot Paradise!"

"Thank you, Cerb. My name's Dan, Dan Kinotama." He offered his hand, which Cerb would immediately shake.

"Nice to meet you, Dan. Here, let me fix you something."

Cerb would pick up a glass from under the bar, as well as a large, black bottle with a yellow marking on the side. Pouring a clear, flat liquid into the small glass, he slid it over to Dan with a slight smirk on his face. "Go ahead, try it. You'll like it, I promise."

And, as new and vulnerable as Dan was, he picked the glass right up, and, after a toast to Cerb, took a healthy mouthful. A rough swallow ensued, followed by an even harder sigh. The liquid had turned out to be Everclear, an extremely strong alcohol. "Hoooly shit!"

"Well? Do you like it?"

"It gave me one hell of a burn... But it did have an interesting flavor under the searing of my throat."

"See? Told you."

"I know, I know... Thanks a bunch, what do I owe you?"

"Oh, it's on the house. There's no official currency in Furcadia just yet, so we don't charge anything."

"Oh! Well, then... Thank you very much, Cerb."

Cerb would pour himself a glass, and offer a toast. "To new friends."

Dan smirked, and clinked the glasses together. "And new adventures."

They downed their drinks, each giving a rough sigh afterwards. Dan a bit more than Cerb,

however... He was still a little new to this searing nectar of the gods.

Dan would turn around and lean back against the bar, his eyes scanning the bar once again.

"Well... What's there to do around this place, Cerb?"

"Well... There's yiffers... Prostitutes, basically, except it's free."

"I think I might need to hook up with one, I'm new to that.... Too..." The pauses would be caused by a lack of attention, all of it going to another in the bar. A white mare, with a white dress and white, mid-back length hair sat alone at a table in silence. "Well, well... Who's this?"

"Her? I don't know... She's a new-comer to the bar, like you. Maybe you should go and try and make another friend?"

"I do suppose I should give it a try, anyway... Could I get two glasses of something weak? A red wine would probably do fine..." Dan would turn quickly back to Cerb, who would nod and wave him over to the table. He would stand, fix and fidget with a few things, and casually make his way over to the table. He would sit at the table, attempting to make eye contact with the female. "Hello, there, miss. What is a pretty girl like you doing over here alone?"

The girl would look up, seeming to force a smile. "No one seems to want to sit with me."

"Well, would you mind my company?" At that moment, Cerb would wander over and place two glasses of red wine on the table. "And, perhaps a drink?"

The girl would giggle softly and nod, offering out her hand. "Thanks. My name's Aono."

Dan would take the hand and bring it to his lips, placing a soft kiss on her knuckle. "Pleased to meet you, Aono. The name's Dan, Dan Kinotama."

Aono would giggle once again, taking her hand back with a soft blush. "Likewise, Daniel." She smiled, taking a soft sip of the wine. "So... What brings you over here?"

"How could I leave a beautiful girl all by her lonesome?" He gave her a soft smile, and a playful wink.

"Well, I have been kind of lonely... Perhaps I could have a little help with that?" She would grin, downing the glass in one heathly gulp.

Dan would blink softly, smirking as he finished his own glass, giving Cerb a salute. Aono dragged him back into the yiff rooms, and into a particular favorite of hers. It was a forest setting, a bed of camoflauge sheets sat in one corner, a gathering of fluff in another. Near the middle sat a pedastal, surrounded by fluff, and this is where he would sit.

"Hm... It's nice in here. Kinda quiet..."

Aono would softly slide into his lap, placing a soft kiss on his nose. "That's the way it should be."

The kiss would surprise him, though he would return it with one to her chin. Their tongues would entwine, arms wrapped tightly around each other in an embrace. The kiss was broken for just a moment, and Dan would lean in to make his move. Attempting to place a soft kiss on her neck, it was if she had disappeared, as he fell face-first to the floor. All that was left was a small note that read:

"Thanks, you made me feel better. I hope we can talk again!"

Little did he know, this would be the last he saw of the beautiful mare.
