Lyndis has a dream about Cordenth and her, than awakens in a strange place. She gets to talk to some people and talk to some Kobolds! What could possibly go wrong?

Scales and Honor

Chapter 33: Unexpected Friends

"That tickles." Lyndis laughed, brushing the emerald dragons claw from her neck.

"I'm sorry, you're just so soft." Cordenth replied, nuzzling his scaled snout against her nose. It was leathery, and felt rather pleasant as it touched her skin. She held up a hand to gently caress the underside of his head, scratching lightly beneath his scales and making the dragon give a pleasured moan. She moved her head close and planted a kiss right onto his snout. She felt her heart flutter within her chest, threatening to leap out at a moments notice. Cordenth pulled back after a moment, his yellow eyes staring deeply into her own.

To think this dragon had been being an arse to her several days before, and was now looking at her so tenderly, with the passionate eyes of a lover. His frills at the back of his head began to rise and fall to the same constant rhythm of his black chest. The onyx scales quietly clinking together, the only sound besides their breathing.

"I think I like this kissing thing of yours." Cordenth smiled, "I have never done it before." He lowered his head once more and resumed his assault on her with nuzzles once more. Lyndis giggled as she rubbed the sides of his head. The scales so smooth within her hands. She had never imagined a dragon's scales would be so smooth......or fill her with such warmth. "Your like a love drunk teenager." she exclaimed with a smile.

"Is that a bad thing?" he stopped, to raise an eyebrow at her.

"It's just odd coming from you, o great and regal dragon." She held her head up and did her best Veledar impression. Than she playfully smacked his scales.

Cordenth replied with a sudden snort from his nostrils, the warm air tickling her chest, and causing her to spasm and clutch his head tightly. "Stop it!" she smacked the dragon's head playfully.

"Never my little princess! You are mine!" He snorted again, causing her to let out a screech of laughter. Soon his onyx claws had joined in on the assault of her senses.

Lyndis spasmed and gasped under the dragons ministrations, unable to do anything but clutch his head and scream loudly. She tried to regain her composure through his tickles but she found herself unable. She was completely at Cordenth's mercy.

"You know you should really quiet down." he laughed as his tail twitched behind him, "You will wake your friends." The dragon pulled away, leaving her breathing deeply and sprawled out on her sheets. "Also it is really helpful to know your really ticklishness. It lets me know how to put you in your place." He said with a playful growl. He then licked his snout from left to right with a single pass of his pink tongue.

"Oh don't you get any lewd ideas Mr. Greenscales. What kind of girl do you take me for?" She playfully shoved the dragon's chest, as he moved over her.

"A lovely one....A beautiful flower..." He held up his paws with each word. " One whose mere presence fills this dragon with joy." He was getting closer as he continued to talk. She gave it a mere thought, and decided to not stop him.

"Like a collection of priceless emeralds, without any equal. A woman who is more rare than finding a unicorn." He raised a claw and gently caressed her cheek. She found herself grabbing his paw and leaning into his touch. She felt her heart give another flutter, as she once again lost herself within his eyes. They met half way in another kiss. "I am going to miss you." he suddenly said, drooping his frills.

"Don't dwell on what is going to happen Cordy." She chuckled, pulling his snout to look at her. "You have me here right now. Enjoy my company and the time we have ok?" She planted another kiss on the dragon. She felt his heart quicken through her touch, as his frills twitched.

"Wellllll okay." He chuckled, pulling away, only to return with another kiss for her. With lips locked against one another, their combined hearts beating fast, she could feel herself slipping away as she held onto the dragon's snout. For someone who was new to kissing, and did not have the mouth for it, he certainly was giving intense, passionate kisses. She heard the sounds of their blissful embrace suddenly fade away, and the warm radiant touch of the dragon dulled, than cooled within her grasp. Lyndis' eyes widened in panic as the dragon whose scales had been a magnificent green were now grey and lifeless. "Cordenth!" she cried out, as everything faded away to black.

* * * * *

Lyndis awoke with a start, she was laying sprawled out on a hard floor. She instantly grabbed her head as it throbbed with a dull pain. She ran her hands through her hair , then closed her eyes. What happened? Why does my head hurt? And....why does the ground feel so. She opened her eyes to see a stone floor beneath her. She appeared to be in a barred cell barely big enough for two people. The room the cell was in was roughly three times the size of her cage. The cold metal bars were spaced close enough together that she would not be able to slip her arm through it very far. Sitting on a old looking wooden stool was a gruff looking man. His muscular body was covered in dark grey clothes, with a suit of mud brown leather strapped on. He was currently looking at a book held within his fat hands, one that had a cover the color of dried blood. His eyes would scan the page so quickly she imagined it they were simply going to pop right out of his head at any moment.

Lyndis sat up slowly and looked down at her body, to find she had no injuries to speak of. They most likely got a cleric to heal me. The next thing she noticed was all of her gear was missing, save her simple pants, boots, and green shirt. Well at least they are not stupid. She eyed the cell's one door, eyeing the lock. If I had my pack, one quick lock pick and I would have been out of here. "Hey you, whats going on here?" she said, the man glancing up slightly from his book.

"Ya bein held prisoner, what it look like?" he folded the corner of the current page he was on, and closed the book. Than softly placed it on a small wooden desk located to his left.

"How long have I been here for?" she demanded, rising to her feet. Although even standing up she saw she would only come up to the man's shoulders.

"Not too long, boss needs ya to stay here."

Damn Hogar, your a no good backstabbing son of a wyvern. She scowled at the man with her eyes. When I find him, we are certainly going to have a little chat about this.

"Don't be mad princess, no ones hurt ya. We dun plan ta."

Yea wonderful... "So why did you even capture me?" she crossed her arms."Do you know who I even travel with? They are insane.....there is no way they would simply leave me here." She imagined her friends already scowering the city for her, every nook and cranny, every little alley, until she was safe. She imagined Veledar flying around snout swaying back and forth as his eyes scanned the ground below. She knew he couldn't truthfully fly around without being spotted. But this is my imagination damnt.

"Yer the princess o course....well dats what boss keeps sayin. Says ya worth loads in favors."The man stood up cracked his back quickly. "Now if ya hungry, I can get something for ya to eat o course."

She felt her stomach rumble. Of course I am hungry. If they were really going to treat her well, might as well sample the food. "Sure I will have some food then." She went to look away like Veledar usually did, but something caught her eye. Hanging from the man's belt was a shinny object in the shape of a key. _Jackpot...I just have to charm this guy and I can get out of..._She held up her hands and flicked her wrist at the guard. Except something was odd after she said the key phrase. The magic that usually just built up in her arms would not release, it was like something was stopping it flowing through. Like a cork wedged into a potion bottle. WHAT?

"Ya can't be usin spells in dere princess." the man chuckled, "Boss made sure of that."

Great... "And who is this boss you keep rattling about." She rolled her eyes, "I had a friend who would go on and on about your boss, but never mention who or what he was.

"You think I'm foolish enough to reveal the masters identity?" the man laughed deeply in his throat, his stomach jiggling. "I am not that stupid."

Fock. "Well I am still hungry if you don't mind that little hiccup."What kind of creature could set up a magical suppression field? She drummed her fingers against her chin.

"Well now your not getting the best." the man laughed, "Ya don't get rewarded for acting up." The man walked over to the door located on the far side of the room. He opened the old looking wooden thing a slight crack. "Yea the princess is wantin her meal. Go fetch the that little gray lizard. " He than turned back with an evil grin plastered on his face. "Although only give her half of what we were gonna, can't reward bad behavior afta all."

Oh you just wait, if I was out of here you would really see some bad behavior. She glared at him as he strode back over to his seat, sat back down, and picked up his book once more. "Well whats your name? Unless you want to me to just call you guard."

"Guard is just fine." he grunted back, his eyes once again getting lost on the pages in his hands.

Well good, it would certainly make it easier when she escaped. She frowned for a moment, Well she wouldn't rough him up too badly. Unless he tried to kill her or something. She ran a finger across the metal bars, they were sturdy and smooth. She narrowed her eyes and spied the small cracks within the surface, the sign of magical creation. She gave a sigh and sat down on the small cot. To her irritation it actually was comfortable. I wish Cordenth was here. Truthfully everyday apart she had missed the green guy. Hell why did I not beg him to come with me? We could have certainly used two dragons. She laid back down and looked to the wooden support beams overhead. She traced them with her eyes, but found the bars cut off an escape that was as well. Because I did not want to stand in his way of exploring somewhere else, and because I was sure Veledar did not want you along. She gave another sigh, and she went to clutch something that was not around her neck. If only I was wearing the necklace he gave me the night before we left. She remembered it was a simple thing, on a small golden chain. It was one of his green scales. He had explained it was like the emerald ladies own amulets, and if she ever really needed to contact him she could. Well this would certainly fit the bill. She imagined him right now breaking down the door, his yellow eyes full of fury. Perhaps dispatching Guard over there, and than carrying her away in his arms. You really shouldn't consider yourself a maiden in need of rescuing. She reminded herself as she grinned, Yea but sometimes its a rather pleasant fantasy.

After at least half an hour, she sat up as the door creaked open slightly. With the sound of claws clicking on the stone came in two little kobolds. They reminded her of the larger siigonis back in Drenedar. Although were almost the opposite in other regards. While the siigonis were fairly large these were small, almost the size of a halfling. Where the larger lizards had dull moss green scales, these ones were different. One which was holding a small tray with food had scales of grey with yellow stripes around her tail, and another beside it had black scales with blue striped around his wrists. They were also clad in clothing which was different from their larger brethren. The grey kobold wore articles of loose blue clothing around her waist, shoulders and chest. Around her neck was a small teal necklace with a small blue orb at it's center. The black scaled kobold wore dark blue robes, like a blueberries skin. That one looked at her with his white eyes, she thought she saw a look of worry flash in them.

"Hey we only needed the grey one." the guard looked up from his book, and snarled.

"I f-figured the p-prisoner should be checked to make s-sure she was fully healed." the black scaled kobold stuttered.

The grey kobold just walked over to the cage in silence. Lyndis noticed of the two this one was skinnier and less built. If she had to guess, this one was a female. While the other one who was currently talking on and on with the guard about checking on her was male. The female kobold walked over to the cell, her blue portions of her clothing swaying slightly. She crouched down on her little legs and placed the tray of food close to the bars.

"Its ok, I promise its good." She smiled sweetly, showing off her teeth and closing her bright royal purple eyes. Lyndis noticed that her scales started to turn a shade of green. "It's not often we get royalty here." she pointed to what some broccoli, than bread, and some chicken. They were sitting on the tray, still steaming. "Don't worry." she whispered, I just was going to give you double. So when they halved it....you got the same." She gave a wink.

Well that is certainly surprising. Lyndis padded over and took a cross legged seat next to the friendly kobold.

"Well I am going to check with the boss. You watch the prisoner." Guard said angrily, as he stormed out with a red face. He slammed the door behind him, rattling the table. The black kobold just chuckled and took a seat with the grey one.

Lyndis grabbed a portion of the bread, and stuffed it into her mouth. It was warm and tasty, must have just been cooked. While she munched on it, the two little lizards just watched her with curiosity. It was then she noticed the green scales of the female were now changing to yellow.

"I-I'm sorry for holding you back there." the black one said as she reached for some broccoli. He twisted a claw onto the stone nervously. "T-they made me do it. I would have never if I knew you were a princess."

So he was the little focker that caught her with that spell. "Well thanks for that , because of you I might end up traded to this king of theirs, and trust me he is not a good man." She shot back in a flash of anger to the kobold. His eyes widened as he held his head back, before lowering it in a sulk. His tail thumped weakly behind him. Was I tad too harsh on him? Nonsense the focker got me caught.

"So your really a princess?" the now yellow female asked before Lyndis could say anything else. "I have never met a princess before." she smiled. "Your just as pretty in the stories I have sung about."

"Really?' Lyndis laughed, "Perhaps you might be singing the wrong stories. I am no pretty princess." Well Cordenth would disagree. "So why did you get me more food? You don't even know me."

"Well.....I heard we had a princess, and the mean men said only to give you half. But how could I give a princess only half of the food for her?" She placed a claw to her blue cloth covered chest. "I think I would have been overjoyed."

"Overjoyed?" Lyndis asked, taking a bite of bread.

"Oh." she wrinkled her muzzle. "Did I use the wrong word again?" she sighed, "Common is my second language. I think I meant to say...m...mortified." she struggled a few times on the last word. Her muzzle scrunching up again in irritation.

"So what are your two names?" she asked, finishing off the bread with a gulp.

"I am Feku!" The yellow kobold smiled, sticking a claw to her chest. There was a moment of silence before she nudged the black one, who was still sulking in his dark blue robes. "Come on she asked your name. You can at least try and make it up to her."

"My n-name is Azzik" he quickly stammered, as he looked to her eyes full of worry.

"I am Lyndis."

"Lyndis. I am so terribly sorry for helping capture you." Azzik pleaded throwing himself onto the floor and sprawling out his arms. "P-please forgive me."

She eyed him for a moment, her anger at being captured slightly simmering. Once again, surprising. Who would have thought? "Ok so you want to make it up to me? Tell me how two beings such as yourselves ended up working for these arseholes than. You seem fairly nice."

Azzik rose back up, carefully placing his claws on his robe covered knees. He breathed in deeply as he closed his eyes. "It all started years ago when my our tribe was......." he paused, and Feku grabs his claw, caressing it softly. "A-attacked by this gang." He gestures to the room around them with a sweep of his claws. "They found Feku and I." Azzik lowers his snout, and looks away. "And decided to keep us."

"Your slaves?" Lyndis raised an eyebrow.

"Yes." Azzik said, after a pregnant pause, and he fidgeted his claws together.

"We were hiding underneath a bed while others fought.." Feku added, her voice quivering. Her scales suddenly changed to resemble the dark blue of an orchid. She hung her little head, her frills drooping. "It was terrible."

"So you were able to go on them with a mission to get me. Why did you not run when you had the chance?" Her eyes fell onto Azzik, who looked away in shame. Cause that is odd.

"Have you s-seen them?" He thrust a finger to the door. "L-look how big and mean, and scary they are!" he started to fidget his claws once again. "They would kill me, and besides." He looked over at Feku. "They always keep her here..."

Lyndis eyes widened in realization. How cute."Oh are you two together?" she smiled, taking the chicken and ripping a chunk off with her teeth.

"She is the thing that makes all the pain worth it." He moved in and nuzzled the now pink scaled kobold. Feku nuzzled him back softly. "Although they asked me to do a forgery on a letter." he continued, his voice low. "But I messed up on purpose." he grinned.

"Why did you mess up on purpose?" She took another chunk of chicken, and then set the bone onto the tray.

"I- I didn't want someone else to be caught like me. I h-hoped that your friends would spot the error and suspect something was amiss." he raised his head to look at her with a small smile. " Because you do not belong in a cage miss Lyndis."

Well we both agree on that. "How did you mess up the letter then?"

"I changed how I wrote the Ss."

Was that too subtle? Hopefully my friends can spot that kind of error. She shook her head lightly. Of course they would spot it. No sense in worrying my head over it. "Thank you Azzik, and I forgive you for catching me."

The little kobolds face lit up with happiness. She was almost sure he was going to let out a squeal. "Thank you miss Lyndis!" he cried, jumping up and down. Each time his claws would click on the stone floor.

"Whats going on in there?" came the angry voice of the guard once again. Soon after the door swung open and he swaggered in. His brow was wrinkled as he glared at the two kobolds. "Both of you get out here. I would not wish your attentions on even the best of prisoners."

Feku and Azzik scrambled to gathering the tray, and without another word scurried out of the room with frightened looks on their snouts.

"There, now we have the room to ourselves." He shut the door and strode over to his stool once more. "Filthy creatures, don't know why the boss even keeps her around. I mean I know why the black one...he can heal."

"I liked them you brute." Lyndis shot at the guard, not even disguising her disgust for the man,.

"Oh I bet you did princess. You know what? How about we have them guard your cell from now on?" He chuckled, plopping down onto the stool. Lyndis heard it strain under the man's weight.

That wouldn't be so bad. At least she would have someone pleasant to talk to. Perhaps she could even persuade them to let her go. She imagined taking the key from them, and snatching the two up in her arms. She would carry them far away from this place, far away from the gang. "How about we do that. I would rather talk them instead of look at your ugly face all day."

"Hah." guard chuckled. "Don't worry, we will have you gone by the end of the night. So I suggest you get some rest princess." He picked up his book once more, and cracked it open with a grunt. "Besides I would watch your tongue princess, we have a healer to patch up any wounds inflicted on you."

"Oh was that a threat Guard?" Lyndis chuckled. "You come in here and I will show you how helpless I am. I bet I can kick your focken arse before you even lay a hand on me."

Guard lifted his gaze, and gave her an amused look in his eyes. "Ya you can't goad me into coming in there princess. Do I look like an idiot?"

"Ya but that's beside the point. You better hope your not around when my friends show up." She grinned, running her thumb across her chin. "When they get here your going wind up really hurt or dead."

"Such a wasteful boast." Guard chuckled. "Your friends are not coming half-elf. We used magic to hide out tracks, and they have a forged letter. There is no way they will give up the chance to get into the castle. I believe Hogar said you guys were...desperate." Guard folded his legs, and returned to his book. "So, no princess, no one is coming for you."

Lyndis returned to her cot and sat on it cross legged. She gave the man an anger filled glance for a moment before focusing instead on her breathing. Slowly letting the air give rise to her chest, before letting it out in one long exhale. It made her body tingle like she was being dipped in water. She gave a pleasured sigh and closed her eyes. My friends are coming. She smirked and thought to the two kobolds. And they are coming with us. She felt the tug of slumber on her mind. She followed it, and let herself drift away once again to the realm of dreams.

* * * * * *

"What do you mean they did not show up?" a deep voice asked from beyond the door. Lyndis opened one of her eyes as she was pulled from her slumber. Her dream had something to do with Cordenth she was sure. She remembered being cuddled against his scales, as he held her like Veledar did to Arcturus. That lucky bastard, and he doesn't even tell the dragon how he feels. She rolled her eyes, now was no time to think about how stupid her friend was being. When I see them again I am focking forcing them to talk it out. She twitched her ears as someone that sounded like guard responded.

"They never showed up for the meeting! Elwin was furious, she is questioning if we even have the princess now!"

"That is most unfortunate then. We will simple have to have someone convince her otherwise." came the deep voice again. It sounded menacing, and Lyndis pictured whoever it belonged to have many sharp teeth. "And have we figured out why the group did not go?"

"It was probably the black stupid kobold." came another voice, this one sounded feminine but all raspy. "He must not have done a good enough job on the forgery."

"It is a shame to see his talent has slipped in the years that I have owned him." there was a small silence as Lyndis figured the mysterious deep voice was thinking up something devilish. "Make sure that he is reprimanded for this....slip in talent." She could hear the voice smile, "and do make sure it sticks."

"Sure thing." replied guard. Lyndis could tell he was focking smiling too

Focking arsehole. She sat their in silence as she heard only two sets of footsteps carry them down the hall. Strange. The door was thrown open several minutes later, and Azzik was tossed into the room. The kobold's body crashed onto the floor with a grunt of pain escaping his snout. His eyes closed, and he struggled to stand, only for guard to press a boot down onto the back of his robes. Azzik gasped in pain, and his tail wiggled weakly beneath the man.

"So you thought to slip up and help this one?" Guard gestured to Lyndis, with what he was holding. A large metal rod with a small circle of an eye, glowing white hot with wicked intent. He was holding a branding rod. Oh no.

"Azzik is sorry!" the kobold cried. "A-azzik messed up honest!" he wiggled again, only for another press of Guard's boots to press the air from his lungs. Azzik's claws dragged uselessly on the stone floor, as he continued his struggles.

"LEAVE HIM ALONE!" Lyndis cried out, bolting up and grabbing the bars with her hands.

"Now look at the princess you were helping kobold." Guard snarled, pressing firmly against kobold once again.

"FOCK YOU, YA PRICK LET HIM GO!"

"Tsk tsk, you certainly don't sound like a princess." Guard laughed, as Azzik looked up at her, pain in his eyes mixed with fear."Now tell her how sorry, and pathetic you are."

No don't say it. She crouched low, and looked into his eyes. Right before shooting a death glare at Guard.

"Azzik is s-sorry, and p-pathetic." the kobold gasped in pain from another forceful press of Guards boot. "ASSIK IS S-SORRY, AND P-PATHETIC!" he shouted, his voice cracking.

"Good." Guard grinned, and pressed the branding rod right onto a section of Azzik's neck. With the smell of burning flesh and a small hiss, the kobold let out an earsplitting scream of agony. It swirled around the room, bounced off the walls, and pierced Lyndis heart. Guard held the brand there for a minute with a wicked, satisfied smile, as Azzik squirmed and thrashed under the man's weight. However no matter what the kobold did, he could not escape. Guard continued even through several more long screams from the thrashing kobold.

Guard retracted the brand when Azzik collapsed onto the floor. His claws and tail twitched slightly. "Oh look, he could not stand the pain." he laughed. "Perhaps now he will know to not go against the master's wishes......" Hes lucky he isn't dead."

Feku suddenly came running into the room, her snout all purple. Her frills twitched as her eyes filled with horror. "Azzik!" she cried out, going to rush to her fallen mate. However a large minotaur with black fur rushed in after her and grabbed her around her scaled waist. "Let me on!" she cried out, slicing into the minotaurs hands. "LET ME ON!" she went to slash at him again, but the bull caught her claw with his strong hand. He must have squeezed tight because she too let out a shriek of pain.

"Let them go please!" Lyndis cried out, her eyes looking for anything that could help out the little kobolds. Her heart sank as she could not find anything. I feel so focking useless.

"Don't break her hand." Guard laughed to the minotaur. "Boss likes her playing music and cooking. Can't really do that with a broken claw." He gestured to Azzik. "Especially if this one is out for awhile."

The minotaur released the crying kobold's claws with a grunt. He pointed a digit right at her snout. "You claw me again little kobold and I will break both our your wrists, regardless of what he says. Do you understand?"

"Muddily." she snarled back.

"I think you mean perfectly." he snorted back, eyes glaring at her. Lyndis felt her heart skip a beat.

"Yes, yes, that's what I meant!" Feku cried out, squirming still in the large bull's grip. "Can I get let downstairs now?"

"No." the bull turned, "I will take her back to the kitchens." He than simply walked away with the still struggling kobold.

"Azzik!" Lyndis heard Feku cry out, followed by the sound of a smack of hand on scales.

I will make sure both of you hurt so much. Lyndis gave Guard another death glare. She already pictured cutting into both Guard and the minotaur. Slowly taking her time to inflict as much pain as possible to these horrible excuses for people. I will try to not enjoy it too much you bastards.

"Don't look so hurt princess. They were just kobolds after all, and needed to be put in their place..... Now if you excuse me, I have to go return this." He gestured to the branding rod with a smile. "Now don't you go anywhere." he chuckled, and walked out of the room. Leaving Lyndis crouching on the floor with the pained slow breaths of Azzik.

"Azzik" Lyndis whispered and nudging him with her finger. The kobold did not stir as her finger touched his smooth scales. Come on wake up. She nudged him again, this time getting a pained groan from him.

"Where am I?" he gasped out, before wincing in pain. He sucked in air with his teeth, before letting out another groan.

"Are you ok?" she asked, worry building in her chest.

"I have had worse." Azzik gasped again. He pulled up the robe on his left arm, to show numerous scars. It looked like someone had taken a blade to him, and drew cuts up and down his arm. There seemed to be no pattern to them at all.

How dreadful. It just makes me want to kill these men even more. "Azzik, I am sorry you had to go through that for me..." she hung her head slightly.

"No,i-it's ok. It was the right thing to do." Azzik quivered on the ground, as she saw him suck in a pained gasp again. "No branding before though..it.." Azzik clenched his eyes together as his tail twitched, "Stings." He sat up enough to point to his shoulder. "Besides the dagger you tossed into me tonight hurt as well. You got me really g-good."

Oh right, I did toss a dagger at him. "Sorry about that." she gave him a remorseful look, Although I was not sorry at the time.

"N-no matter, I got rid of the wound with a cure spell anyway." The kobold gave her a small half smile, and pushed himself up onto his claws until he was sitting cross -legged in front of her. He breathed in and out several times. Deep long breaths that seemed to last for minutes at a time. No doubt he was trying to soothe himself from the pain.

"Seriously are you going to be ok? I have a friend who won't admit when he needs help either."

"Yes." he held up one his claws and grabbed hold of his shoulder. He muttered something under his breath, and the selected appendage started to glow white. The light seemed to flow into the kobold, radiating outward on his robes like waves of water. He closed his eyes and gave a pleasured sigh. "B-besides." He reached into a small leather pouch around his waist. It looked old and worn, and had a red cross stitched into it. He rustled around within the pouch for several moments, until his eyes went wide. "I got it!" he exclaimed with a hushed whisper and a smile, as he quickly dragged whatever he snatched out from the pouch.

What Azzik was holding in his outstretched palms was the blade she had thrown at him from previously in the night. It's metal surface apparently had been cleaned, as there was no sign of the little guys blood anywhere on it. "I figured it I was going to try and get you to help me, you might want this back."

Lyndis reached out and carefully plucked the knife from his grasp. She felt the well balanced dagger in her grip, finding a warmth in it as she tightened her hand around it. She than started twirling the thing through her fingers, one after the other. She knew it wouldn't help her right this moment, but when they came to get her out....I will be ready. "Thanks little guy." She replied with a sincere smile. She strode over to the bed, ripped off a section of the sheet and wrapped the dagger in it. She then slid the now covered knife into her boot for safekeeping. "So the guy with the deep voice...who was that?" she turned around to face Azzik once more. He had not moved from his spot, and was thankfully not squirming in pain anymore. Guess the cure spell I think he used helped with the burn as well. His snout was currently cocked like Veledar's was when he was curious.

"That was my master." Azzik wrinkled his snout, "Hes real powerful..and mean.....and cruel..." He thumped his tail on the floor as his frills twitched. "He killed lots of kobolds for.....fun....because we were on his land..."

"Well he certainly sounds like a typical run of the mill bad guys. One of the ones you hear about in children stories." Her thoughts went back to Drakenburg and the crime boss knives. How she had taken pleasure stabbing him through his blackened heart. I wonder if I will have to do the same to this creature boss of theirs. That would certainly help Azzik and Feku, not to mention anyone else injured by the gangs activities. Listen to me I'm turning into a paladin. She shook her head with an amused smile. "Whats the things name Azzik? I need to know the being that treats you and others so poorly."

Azzik held up a claw after pulling his head back slightly. His eyes widened in fear as he gazed upon her. "Y-you cant fight him!"

"I can fight anyone Azzik." She pushed a thumb to her chest. "I have fought dragons before after all." With help of course........Shut up me he does not need to know that little detail.

Azzik clamped his snout shut, fidgeting his claws together. "N-no. I will not tell you. Cause then you will want to go fight him." The kobold than lowered his head slightly, "Than you will die."

Great that he cares about my life right now. Kind of wish he was like this in the alley. Perhaps I would not be in this predicament then. "You got me captured Azzik, the least you can do is tell me about the creature that wants me like this, and wants to sell me off to the king!"

"No....." Azzik looked away for a moment, holding his little snout as high as he could, closing his eyes, and crossing his arms. He sat like this for a moment before slowly opening his left eye to peak at her. "Unless you want to make a deal."

"What do you want you clever little thing." she grinned at him.

"I tell you about my master." He than pointed a claw right at her, "And you help Feku and I escape."

"Deal, now tell me about your master."

Azzik fidgeted in place as he played with his claws nervously. "He is a creature we call an observer." he said softly as he looked towards the door. His eyes were filled with fear, as if the thing would come in and attack him right this moment.

"Whats an observer?" she asked, picturing an old man holding up a spyglass in her mind. No doubt it's something much worse than that. However that would have been hilarious.

"Its like a floating head." Azzik held up his claws, and wiggled them. "Large mouth, one single eye. It has many eyes connected to stalks on top of it's head. I saw him or it, whatever it wants to call itself attack my village. His eye and stalks shot different colored beams that flew in every direction. I watched some stun kobolds in place, some blast holes through chests, some enrage others into a frenzy.....and.." Azzik gulped, "turn some to ash before my eyes."

Well that certainly sounds dreadful. Like something out of a nightmare. She pictured it's large sharp teeth as it hovered slightly off the ground. "Ok your right that does not sound like the best thing to fight on my own." she gave out a sigh. "It sounds incredibly dangerous.....however." She looked Azzik in the eye. "If he is standing in the way of helping you two. Than I will have to confront him."

The little kobold nodded in agreement, giving her a smile. "You are most brave Lyndis. Especially when I tell you how powerful he is. You do not cower like most of the people from my tribe.

"Comes with being an adventurer I suppose." She laughed.

"And being a pretty princess?" he lifted an eyebrow.

"Yes I suppose being a princess as well." she rolled her eyes, as he let out a small chuckle.

"So I told you about boss, so now you can help us now?" Azzik clasped his claws together with a small clack as he tapped his tail in joy.

"There is only one problem to your plan." She gestured to the cage with a wave of her left hand. "I am kind of stuck in here. Can't really help you much when I'm bloody stuck in here can I?"

Azzik put a claw to his snout tip and rolled it around several times in a circular pattern. "Hmmmmm"

Just then Guard returned with another slimy smile painted across his face. "Oh look, yer back up." Guard pointed to the door, "Better go heal your........whatever she is....Jax got rough with her. Guess she can add black and blue to her myriad of colors now."

Monsters. Lyndis glared, trying to get the mental image of the bull smacking the kobold across the face out of her head.

"You beat her?!" Azzik snarled, baring his teeth and glaring at Guard.

"Well Jax did, not I. She would not shut her trap about coming down to see you." He leaned in close with a grin, "I suggest you have little chat with your filthy kobold friend about how to treat their betters." Guard thrust his finger at the door again, "Now get out of here before I am forced to reprimand you again.

Azzik closed his snout angrily and stomped his way into the hall. He grabbed the door on the way out and slammed it as hard as he could, although since he was not very strong it only closed slightly more rough than usual.

"Your horrible people, you know that right?" Lyndis spat out like poison as Guard once again reclined on his stool.

"Do I look like I care princess?" Guard raised an eyebrow as he once again picked up his book. "I wouldn't waste the breath if I were you."

"Jokes on you, I am certain my friends are coming now." she smiled. "Or did you not get the memo? They ignored your meeting cause they knew." She started to dance around her cell with a smile on her face, as she remembered the dagger in her boot. Guard sat in silence, as she continued her movements with a smirk. "I cannot wait to be free you know." She strode backwards pretending she was holding the claws of Cordenth in his anthro form. His yellow eyes not leaving her as they glided across the room. They would twirl and follow each other as the music wafted around them, guiding their movements. "I think my favorite part will be hurting you and your friend Jax there."

"For beating up two little kobolds?" Guard laughed, "Or because your really a twisted fucking murderer?"

Lyndis swirled around with Cordenth in her mind, his frills were twitching, then he nuzzled her neck with his snout. She closed her eyes and let out a small pleasure filled sigh. She could almost feel his touch upon her skin as she imagined their warmth. How I wish you were here right now. "Oh just you wait Guard" she laughed. "I cannot focking wait until you meet my friends."

"I am not scared of a tiny group of wannabe adventurers." Guard laughed, "besides the boss can handle any of em if they are tough."

"Cannot focking wait." Lyndis said again with a smile, as her thoughts drifted to her friends. No doubt searching for her this very moment. It would not be long now until they were busting down the door to get her, and it looked like that had bought themselves some time by skipping the meeting. _I cannot focking wait to see the look on their faces as they realized who they have messed with. _
