#5 of Flash TF Stories

This story is an example of a new type of commission I'm offering. I call them Flash TF stories. These are within 3-5 pages long and are done usually the same day they are ordered...if not the next.

Apollo gets more than bargained for when he gets a tarot card reading from a sexy snake lady.

The sun was out on the boardwalk, which meant the Apollo was out too. He loved feeling the sun on his feathers and since the weather permitted it, he was wearing as little as possible. He wore a pair of gray summer shorts with a light blue tank-top.

As a blue jay, his feathers were a mix of white and blue with black accents. His beak and scaled feet were also black. There were stalls of various things that he passed by; hand-made jewelry, skillfully painted sea shells, and even a guy giving out small tattoos. Apollo walked down the wooden boardwalk, his toe talons clacking as he did so.

"Huh? What's that?"

On the board walk, was another still, but this one was larger and covered by a deep blue - almost black - covering with tiny shapes cut into the fabric. Apollo smirked and decided that his curiosity would be sated today. A few quick steps later and the blue jay parted the curtains and entered the mystery stall. The scents that greeted his nostrils were powerful but pleasant. There were lights hanging from the poles holding the fabric up that illuminated an intimately small room with a table in the middle, two chairs, and an ornate table cloth.

Sitting in one of those chairs was a beautiful female snake, who offered an alluring smile. Apollo was suddenly blushing as he realized that the snake was topless, her shapely breasts clearly on display. She pulled a deck of large cards and began to shuffle them slowly. "Hello, sir. My name is Delphine. Please sit."

"Uh...okay. I'm Apollo." Apollo was a bit nervous about offending her in some way, but there was no way he was leaving. This snake was gorgeous all he had to do was be discreet while checking her out.

The deck was put on the table, "Now, if you can resist the charms of my physical body long enough, I need you to touch the deck. You must share with it your soul. Only then can they convene with the ethereal forces beyond to reveal your destiny.

Apollo was always fascinated by this kind of stuff. There was no real way to prove that this stuff wasn't real - and knowing an immortal magic elephant from another dimension kind of lends itself to believing that "out there" things can be real. So, he reached a hand out and touched the deck, concentrating his heart and mind on his life; then, now, and later.

"Today, I will read, to you, your destiny." Delphine pulled out one card from the deck and laid it face down on the table, "Your past," She laid a second card on the table, "your present," One final card was put upon the table and her fingers lingered on the card, "and your future."

Apollo looked at her hand as she slowly drew her fingers over each card. She sighed a long slow sigh, ending with a pleasant smile aimed at the handsome bird sitting in front of her. She flipped the cards over and looked at them for a moment; the six of swords, temperance, and the chariot.

"The six of swords governs your past. Your past was marred by a tragedy that you slowly overcame. You have been on a slow journey of recovery and restoring balance in all areas of your life."

Delphine moved her hand to the next card in line, running her scaled finger over the border of the card. "Temperance represents your energy now. This also represents a balance of life's energies and a means of being cautious with one foot in the real world and one foot in the dream world. Shown on the car as water."

"Your future is represented by The Chariot. The black and white sphinxes up front show that all the positive and negative obstacles you will face will be conquered and guide you in your future. You will not worry where you go, not having reigns to control them. The stars and the moons represent the ethereal and dream verse, which you will be adorned with, thus you will live your dreams."

Delphine smiled and looked up at the blue jay. "this was a good reading. But there's something else I need from you."

Apollo was pondering all of what she had told him, but he still heard her. "Oh? What is it you need? And how much do I owe you for the reading"

The snake smiled slowly and lifted The Chariot card to Apollo's beak, "Kiss the card."

Apollo was confused by this, but maybe it's just something she does. She was a cute and friendly woman, so he shrugged and leaned forward. His beak laid a small soft kiss onto that card, but when he tried to break it his beak wouldn't move away. Apollo tried to grab her, but she let go of the card. A green smoke suddenly puffed from the card and Apollo was blinded for a moment, but when the smoke disappeared he saw that his body was changing.

His flesh and blood body was turning into something that felt like the stock the card was made from. His could feel his three-dimensional body getting flatter and fall from the chair. Delphine stood up and moved the table, wanting to watch the transformation all the way through. His clothes fell away, leaving him naked, the inky outline covering the out edges of his body. And soon, Apollo was completely inside the card. He shifted and moved as he was put into place on the card, the robes slipped onto his flat body and the wand put into his hand.

Delphine picked up her new card and smiled at it. "Don't worry cutie. I won't keep you in there forever. Just a few wee-"

"Apollo?!"

The voice surprised her, but Delphine quickly set the table back and sat down in her chair again. The curtains parted again and in stepped another bird - a peacock to be exact. "Um...have you seen my boyfriend, ma'am? He's a blue jay named Apollo."

Delphine smiled slowly again, "As a matter of fact I have. But I'll only tell you where he is after I read your fortune. So, please, sit down."
