Wolf Moon: Prologue

Prologue
My name is Joshua Olivier (At least that's what everyone calls me my real name is Joshua Lycaon). I'm seventeen, dark brown hair, a genius (a very lazy genius which explains why I'm still in the eleventh grade), tall, skinny but extremely strong, and did I mention a werewolf. Yep a werewolf and not just any werewolf but the son of the werewolf king himself (though I hate him so much). That gives me special privileges too. Most think of a werewolf as half man half wolf or a person changing to a huge wolf... well they a both right. There is three types, the Classic half man half wolf(Bitten as we call them), the born wolfs (person changing to a huge wolf), and the royals(like me we turn into both). I also have another advantage over the others I always have control except one night every year, the wolf moon(the biggest and brightest moon of the year), I have ever experience this eight times. Oh and the Blood Moon (which is rare).
My first change was when I was nine years old. I knew I was a werewolf since I was five because by then I was as smart as a fifth grader. I live in the medium size Louisianan city of Lafayette. I live with my mother. She is 34 but is like a duchess of the werewolf world(royalty but farther down) but see was very beautiful. I've only me my father about five times. He has six other children but I don't care about them. The all rule an area. I rule North America as pack master, pack leader of the southern region( there are five regions north, south, east, west, and the mid as we call it), and alpha male of my pack. The ranks I mentioned are pack master(leader of continent), pack leader( leader of a region), and alpha male(leader of city or state pack). In just the U.S. there is about 1230 werewolves and many more weres(there is many wereanimals from apes to zebras but no werearachnids or werebugs). Werewolves are one of the strongest weres( top being tied with weretigers, werelions , and werewolve).
Our main job is to protect humans from vampires. I know this sounds like so many other stories but its true. Werewolves have almost always been the protectors of man. Just like the wolf we have a bad reputation as a monster. The old stories of the monsters attacking villages are the bitten we made for this war(which wasn't a very good idea), but we had good intentions at the time, and it doesn't help that everyone love vampires now.
There are thing humans don't understand and most of the time we hate the ones protecting us. Which is why we don't care what they think of us we do it anyway. We protect the ones who are innocent and stop the guilty.
