Hi everyone. I want to apologize for being so late on writing Chapter 6. Life caught up to me this week, with School and some family issues. Anyways, I've taken long enough off; and am resuming my writing. Sorry about the delay.

Chapter 6:
The Return of the Dark Lord
The day began like any other. In the morning the pack, I, and Steel, set out for breakfast. It didn't take long; soon we were staring at two deer, unaware of our presence. Then, something happened; the deer's heads shot up and looked nervously around. I knew it wasn't us because the wind was blowing toward us.
I was the first to scent it. I remembered the scent from somewhere, but I could not place it. The deer stood there, paralyzed with fear.
Then, suddenly, there was a flash or black, and one of the deer fell, we looked around but the black figure was nowhere to be seen. We exchanged puzzled glances. When we turned back the fallen deer was gone and only a single deer stood, petrified in the snow. An easy meal we all thought, and it was.
After the successful hunt we returned to our dens. Steel's was next to mine so I walked with him to it. I opened my mouth to speak but couldn't get the words out. Finally, I spoke.
"Steel, you're the only one who seemed unafraid out there. You knew what that black thing was, right?"
"Yes, Okami, I know what it was... far to well." He answered.
"Well do you care to enlighten me, as to what is out there..." I said promptly.
"Do you remember when we first meet, Okami?" He questioned.
"Of course!" I exclaimed, "How could I forget?"
"Well, Okami." He paused for a few seconds, "The reason why we meet is back..."
"Damn-it, Steel!" I exclaimed, "Enough with this cryptic bull. Just spit it out"
"Fine, Okami, you want the truth to be so straight forward... here it is: 'Lupo di Pura Tenebra' is back! He knows you're here! He has not forgotten that day, so many years ago! You are the only target that has ever gotten away from him. That fact eats away at him everyday. It's a mark of shame to him, and he's not willing to forget it. He is looking for you, Okami. He is looking for me. He wants to finish what he has started, and he is dead set on accomplishing this."
With that said; Steel, turned and walked into his den. His words once again hung like a dark cloud over my head.
"Is this what he meant when he said that I would repay the favor?" I thought. "I hope not."
With his words corrupting my thoughts, I went into a disturbed sleep...
