Book 1: Lapurian's Fall

"Gaa!" That sounded like cannon fire! Trembling as both paws grip the doors handle to open. "This is really yiffed up!" Just for a second I'd looked back (sigh) As another set of statues nearby crashes on to the floor of this hallway. "Ebony iron lay against the indigo along the decorated tapestry. "Must report to the king!" Gulping hard at the pulling the doors open and continuing on ward.

"Your majesty!" My first report to the king and it's; "Bad news!" Making the way up the chamber stairs; "The castle gate has been breeched!" Pulling this helmet of mine off before continuing; "Enemy forces are within the walls as we speck."

So it's come to this approaching the soldier from the throne; "I understand." Of course I don't, I don't understand why any of this is happening or had to happen? As she continued reporting; "The garrison is gone!" At any rate as king I'll keep as calm an appearance as possible; "Any word from the prince?"

(Nodding) "No," Struggling to maintain her compositor; "We've lost contact with Elliot and should not expect aid." (Gaa) Worst report ever! "From him or his men." Another burst as knights came to reinforce the doors. Yells mixed with yells as sword clashed with armor in echoes from the other side and there about.

My son.. No at least there's a chance out there he'll still survive; "Your name is Malena correct?" Another quick nod; "Y- yes, sir?" It was easy to see just how inexperienced she was; "Move to the side for now I'll have instruction for you in a moment."

"Lavenna, come!" Right now her safety is more important; "Do you still have that pendent your mother gave to you?" This I knew would be the last these old eyes would see my daughter; "Yes it's right here father but -" There was no time as I interrupted her; "Smith!" And now as he approached; "Yes your majesty!"

"Good now take Lavenna and that soldier, escape to Zelhaven! There king is an honorable furrin who could help." Standing there he but asked only one other question; "Understood ,But what of yourself?" Turning back in sighting the large glass windows above the throne; "

"I'll shall remain here." Picking up a piece of the stained glass; "We've long held Wagazon as allies." Turning back towards them; "Yet now, they've attack?" I must know why am I somehow responsible for this? "Have I erred in my leadership?" Lapuria has been mine to govern; "How could I've failed my country so?"

"Father no!" Another boom as the doors began to throb themselves open; "If you stay then so to shall I." Pain filled these eyes at the sorry state of chao that was about to occur; "Smith this will be my last order keep my daughter safe and now hurry, Go!"

"Father!" As they left though the secret wall passage.. "FATHER!"

...

"General Smith." It was the soldier who spoke; "Now that we have escaped though the gardens I'll ride ahead to scout." Taking the rains of the caterpillar; "No, Malena take lead and bring word of our predicament to Zelhaven."

"Of course sir a lone rider has a better chance of being unnoticed." It was then that Lavanna walked towards her with a paws extended; "Dearest soldier my gratitude for your loyalty." And with that they hugged for only a moment more; "Please be safe Malena, swiftness be with you." And like that she rode away.

"Lavanna, we must continue -" Suddenly as something from the western sky flew past; "Quickly behind me, they've spotted us!" As two wolves riding hornets touched down near us another in faded grey armor swooped down closer. "Princess get behind me." Whispering under this breath of mine.

"You there templar!" Spreading his grin out in a show of fangs. "Yes with that girl behind you." It's a hornet knight; "Tell me?" As a paw points outright in our direction. "Would that be the Lapurian princess?" Knowing the answer to the question already. Lavanna keeps quit her paws fumbling at pendent that hung around her chest plate.

"Well-well, this truly is a fortunate moment for me." Rearing a strike with an axe at the ready; "You, Your a dead man the priss comes with me!" I'd readied myself pointing this lance of mine forward; "Never!"

[!Battle!]

In full charge his eyes shaded in bloodlust; "I am Vanthor the greatest of Wagazon's generals!' Striking deeply, smashing though the right side of this armor of mine. "And your just a corpse that doesn't yet know its dead!" Hahaha -Mhahahahaha.

"Ahak!" Pain as this eyesight of mine began to burrs (Graa) As a third of my H-bar vanishes; "Ahhh -No!" I've got to escape gotta get her outta here.. Suddenly as the pendent glows wrapping the both of us in heavy vapors "Wha?" And we were fading away from the place we once were.

"Hm?" Jumping down from my agitated insect to investigate the pool of blood where he they had stood moments before; "Such deep wounds, yet you still hold to duty." As the grin on this face of mine grew out of respect; "Smith the templar, how entertaining warp away little rat!" Turning back returning back to the others; "Try an out run the hunt of death." Mmhahahahah; ..and the kill!" ...

Upon the familiar of this place some time had already passed though the sun still mooned in between cloudy skies above; "Princess was that your doing?" A fire hungry for more embers were burning themselves into exhaustion. "My mother though me it seems came to our aid." Taking a moment to resort the few supplies we had; "But I've no understanding of how?"

(Gaa) This wound I'm useless like this, breathing wasn't difficult so much as the pain that settled from there in; "Smith, here." While with the placing of the darken stone near it; Mmm Lavanna its warm!?" Another glow as the green of it erupted forth and seemed to weave this flesh together.

"Amazing!" As these eyes of mine darted from the stone to her and back again at the miracle; "Truly."

"There." As the glow fades and the pendent is placed back under the chest plate. "The wound is gone though the H-bar hadn't changed there was was no pain only a furless evidence of where the gash had only moment ago had been.

"Smith please." Already helping me to stand up; "Your the only reason I'm still alive -And whom ever that wolf was clearly that Vanthor was after me." It was easy to notice how hard she was trying to hide her tears knowing as I knew that we had just begun and that things were only going to get worst.

"We must press forward to Zelhaven." I'm going to fulfill his majesty's wishes and get you there; " Once we cross that border bridge will be in Zelhaven near the Burin gate. "More importantly, your highness, is that of your own safety; Reaching for the weapon. "Here take this to defend yourself with." Giving it to her as our paws touched; "It's the Spiritus Cane, One of the Lupuitain treasures."

"Oh?" Both of us marveled at it's ancestral design; "Its said that only those of royal lapurian blood may wield it." As she continued speaking; the last one to use this was ..mother."

Lavanna eyes widened; "Wonder how my father fares, do you think they maybe he's a prisoner?" Though she left me with no time to answer; "And what of my brother, the last we heard heard he was traveling forth into.." As yells from behind us grew in intensity.

"There bandits." As Lashsa bent down staying close; That must be there alpha pointing a paw at the wolf that stood near the mouth of the mountain. "Once we cross that bridge, we will be in Zelhaven" Lashsa mouth quietly. She's not wrong, that would mean we're close to the border.

Trying as she was to stay crutched as we both made it across the underbrush. (SNAP) "Your highness." There ears perked those two were alerted to our position; "Dammit will have to fight!"

Alright princess its time to take that weapon and silence them for good; Knowing as we both did that could be no witness to our escape..

[Battle]

"You there!" The wolves approached each with an axe at the ready; "Yiffen Lapurian trash!" As Lashsa took to the patch of trees nearby; Good strategy princess she's got the advantage over them. "Where do you think you're going bitch!"

Eerie as the winds changed so to did her stance as all emotion but wrath drained from the sight within her eyes; "My brother has taught me something of hunting." Dodging within the thick of trees as axes swing wild. "I'll will stand!" Striking at the bandit with multiple hits across his shoulders.

"And now you'll fall!" As the other fell into mud; "That was a critical.." Near to speechless. "Elliot has taught her well.."

As the last of the grunts went down never to get up again while Lashsa's feet walk thought the mix of dirt and pooled blood towards the last of our enemy.

"Excellent princess!" As the alpha stood near both claws gripping at the axe; "What kinda fifty yiff are you." As swing of an axe chopped down hitting the breath outta of her..

"Princess!"

Quickly as a flash between both weapons clashed together; "Wretched lording about time your high-and-mighty tots learned to respect what a true warrior can do!"

Noticing there H-Bars ..Lashsa.. Can't survive another hit like that! "Aaawaagahhh!!!" And like that it was over as one silhouetted body stood over the other her breathless words were barely heard under breath. "Are words so fertile, is pain truly the only way.."

"Princess?" Merely shorting the distance between us, "are you injured?" Though the wound was easily treatable there was an unusual paleness about her. "Princess.." "Hmm?" As we began to turn ahead; "Um, no... I'm fine."

A few steps as the next one her knees were buckling, Uh, I'm okay just." This is war, isn't it? Not like the pretend games my brother or Lyon would involved me in." Sadness enveloped every facial feature while her body spoke the language of wear and weary.

And as we followed forth from the bridge upon the border of Zelhaven, Every word sank within the depths of this mind of mine.

"Let's keep moving." There within her voice was the strength that i'd never seen before; "I'll not be broken by this, and there's no stopping until I've seen Lapuria restored." While in applying some of the herbal cream against the raw of that last slash marked area. "I won't stop until I'm reunited with my brother."

We walked on in silence, escaping the hellish ruin of Lapuria castle.
