#5 of World of the Fearless

Taffy was ready to leave with Master, but she was still troubled on the inside. The Lilith faith did make sense to her, and the way the people lived was very nice, but something just didn't seem right. She grew up with constant electronic stimulation, yet she had no desire to see another television or computer. Also, she had absorbed all of the techniques she had seen over the past two days, and was confident enough to climb tall buildings or enter a firefight, yet before she couldn't hold her own in a conversation. It was all too sudden to feel right, or at least, that's what Master told her.

They climbed to border wall, jumped to a nearby building, then began their journey to the military base. It was close, so acquiring transportation was useless, and could potentially pose a problem if they were expected. On foot, they could easily hide behind chimneys, walls, cars, whatever happened to be in their way. And for the most part, everything was going really smoothly, and the mission seemed easy. Of course, that gave both Taffy and Master a bad feeling, since the military had technology that could find a needle in a haystack from space. Eventually, they entered a grassy clearing, in the middle of the city. There was nothing, not even a single tree. It was one of those things that looked so unnatural that you believed that it was natural. Master knew what he was doing. He walked to the center, reached into the grass, then pulled up a hidden trap door. He let Taffy go in first, then hopped in after her.

Inside of the facility, the walls were bright stainless steel, as were the ceilings. The floors were some sort of laminate coating on a hidden solid surface, as to minimize sound and reduce damage from accidental spills. A lack of security cameras was unsettling, as were the beeps emanating from hidden sources. Master kept a level head as always and creeped along the edge of a wall as silently as he could. Taffy followed his exact footsteps, but it turned out to be pointless in the end. The facility was abandoned, "Master, there isn't anything here. What are we supposed to be doing?"

"Shh... this is nothing more than a hidden escape route slash bomb shelter. We're heading to a building not far from here. I can't remember what it is labeled, but it's nothing more than a front to make the mindless people happy." Master continued to move, and just like he said, a door at the end of the mini maze opened up into a basement of a skyscraper. Two guards stood, unaware of the open door and Master quickly dispatched them with his wicked knives. Master let them fall slowly to the ground, as not to alert any others and gestured for Taffy to go forward.

She ran up quietly to a hallway and aimed her winchester. When it was clear, she signaled for Master to come over. As he went by, Taffy shuddered. His knives were still drawn, and they were stained a crimson red with the blood of countless foes. Taffy thought she could feel the horror of the fallen just by being around the knives, but it was just her imagination. This process continued for a while, with the occasional guard having to be dispatched silently. Taffy found it strange that the hall continued on longer than any buildings in the city. Almost like they ran underneath the entire city. She wasn't far off, either.

An open room came into view with a long stone tunnel that led into another bomb shelter, or at least something that resembled a bomb shelter. Master ran with Taffy at his side, but they were stopped by the sound of gunfire. It was in the distance, but sounded very close. Almost like, "It's above us. We aren't the only ones in here. Unfortunately, we need to make a hole to get up there. I have some explosives here, just stick them as far up as you can, when we step back, the stone ceiling would have collapsed and we would have an easy route. It's just..." Master drifted off.

Taffy felt his unease, "Who else could be here, right? There aren't many groups after the military, I assume, and they aren't after many themselves. Just us and-"

"The Tanek. But what are they doing here? It doesn't make sense. Just hurry up, we can use this as a distraction." Master and Taffy did hurry, and soon enough the entire stone tunnel was lined with explosives. However, when they took cover in the hallways they came from, Master was hesitant to detonate, "Something isn't right here. I don't know what, but I have a bad feeling."

"Are you afraid?" Taffy tried to best not to say that in a mocking tone, but he didn't care.

"No, but something is definitely wrong. Can't you feel it? It's like they expected the Tanek to show up, and I think us as well. Dammit... she's up there." Before Taffy could ask who, part of the ceiling collapsed, and two Tanek along with a beautiful woman in a red robe fell down. It was Susuka, "Nice of you to drop in. Shall we run?"

"What are you doing he-ah!" Master had grabbed her arm and ran towards the bomb shelter, and Taffy ran just as fast. The two Tanek, one a female cow, the other a female lizard, quickly caught on and made a break for it. When Master had made it into the room, along with everyone else, he hit the switch. The explosions completely destroyed the stone, completely sealing them in this strange room. The outer walls are steel, but the inside looks like a medieval tower, complete with a few piles of hay on the stone floor and the archer window high up.

"Uh... someone has a weird sense of security. Wouldn't the steel have been better?"

Master smiled, "Not security, fetish. Those chains on the walls aren't just for decoration, see the wear and tear? They've been used a lot, and not for torture. It really smells like sex in here." He was right, much to the disappointment of the women in the room. However, it only took a second for the two parties to realize that they were on opposing sides. The two Tanek hopped back and drew automatic rifles, while Taffy fell to her knees and aimed her revolvers at them. Master and Susuka didn't so much as budge, "So, how has your day been so far?"

"How can you... right. I keep forgetting about your little birth defect. I assume you have a plan? You did destroy the only exit."

"Nope."

Susuka's mouth fell open, as did the Tanek's. Taffy did as well, as she was sure this was a strategy, "What?! You always have a plan! Why not now!" Taffy's outburst was going through everyone's minds, but she was the first to say it.

"I'm sorry if you thought I did, but truth be told, I never have a plan. I just go with the flow. And besides, I wasn't going to allow Susuka to get hurt. Not while I could help it. Speaking of the demon, why are the Tanek involved in this? I know we had traitors, and we're here to figure out their plan, but why you? Why now?"

Susuka was blushing, so much so that her face almost matched her robe, which made Taffy giggle, "Uh... well... I mean... Hey wait! I'm here because we heard rumors of a surprise attack, I should be asking you what the Lilith are doing here-" Master hugged her, and she fell silent.

"I'm glad you're safe." The air was so tense that Taffy felt that she had to do something, but couldn't think of anything.

Then, a sudden burst of inspiration caused by a piece of hay moving on it's own, "Hey, maybe there's a way out! Those small windows would make the air in her stuffy, but it isn't. I mean, it has a stench to it but the air is clean. There must be some more airflow. Come on, help me look." Taffy looked around the walls, as did the Tanek, who were joined by Susuka. Master didn't move. Taffy found a pattern in the walls about ten feet up that didn't match. She stuck her fingers in the creases and pulled herself up, and to her surprise, she found that it was just a rubber cover. She pulled it off and revealed a vent just big enough for her feline body to fit, "Hey, I found something. I'm going to check it out." She reached down into her boot for her knife, but stopped for a second. The cow from the Tanek was extremely well endowed, and Taffy couldn't help but notice and feel bad about her own body. She shook her head, unscrewed the screws, and quietly climbed in.

It was an air duct, but it transported neither cold nor hot air. Only fresh, clean air, which would be essential for an underground base as large as this one. It branched off about twenty feet in, but it led to a fan that took up the entire vent. It was stoppable, but that would most likely set off sensors and someone would come to investigate. She kept moving, and eventually found another grate. Before she did anything, she peered through the opening, and found that it led to a large room, with at least thirty men training in hand-to-hand combat. Not an idea location for an escape route.

Taffy gave up on this path, turned around with some difficulty, then made her way back to the fetish tower. The others were waiting patiently, and all Taffy could do was shake her head. A few sighs escaped, but Master was confident as always. Taffy hooped down, and believe it or not, the cow caught her. She felt the breasts in her face, and gave a nervous thank you as she leaned against a wall, "This isn't good Serenity. It's not like we could have all fit through there, but at least it was something. Any more ideas?"

"Why yes, princess." he was talking angrily, and Taffy thought she knew why. His parents had named him Serenity, a traditionally female name. Of course, Susuka hated being called princess, so she was also pretty angry. They argued back and forth as the Tanek took places beside Taffy.

"Is this really a good time to be doing this? Aren't there military soldiers trying to get through the rubble?" The cow had a very pleasant voice, and an oddly skinny body to go with it despite the bust. Taffy had expected her to talk in a really girly voice.

"No idea, but it's going to happen whether we like it or not. Maybe they'll get so angry that the military will give up." The three shared a laugh, "I'm Taffy by the way."

"I'm Yoko." said the cow, who then explained that her parents used the same naming process as Susuka's parents out of respect.

"I'm Casey," said the lizard, again with a voice unexpected from her body, "We're assigned to be Susuka's personal guards. Although I didn't expect this much of a hassle. Is it true what they say, that Master really doesn't have any fear?"

Taffy thought about it, and remember that Susuka mentioned a birth defect, "Well, from what I've heard, yeah. He jumps off of buildings without looking, blows up tunnels that contain our only escape, the works. Maybe it had something to do with that birth defect."

Susuka and Master calmed down, and he calmly said, "If you would be so kind as to focus your attention on exhibit A." He kicked a pile of hay, leading to a wide vent. There wasn't really any airflow coming from it, so Susuka was curious as to what it was for. All she knew it that it went down further, not an ideal place to escape to, but it was their only option, "Taffy, if you would be so kind as to go down first. Ah, before you ask, you might want to take your new friends with you, as this is a wide vent. Push your backs against the wall and lower her down to clear out the room at the bottom. I'll take care of Susuka." Apparently, when Taffy went to scout, they came up with an agreement.

The two Tanek lowered themselves in, pushing their backs against the walls and left enough room for Taffy to climb in the middle. She went in head first, so she could easily clear out the room, then the Tanek started to crawl down the vent. All Taffy knew was that there was a face in her crotch, and breasts on her ass. She wanted to bring it up, but that would give away their position. It was a long vent that curved slightly about halfway down, but it was manageable. When they reached the bottom, Taffy pulled out her revolvers, opened the vent slowly, then let her top half drop down with Yoko and Casey holding her legs. It was an empty room with a large opening at one end, but not much else. She tapped the Tanek, and they dropped her down. She flipped in mid air, landed on her feet, then ran to a corner and hid. The two Tanek did the same, minus the flip. Taffy listened closely, but she didn't hear anything for a while. Then, there was a sound she couldn't quite place. Taffy had heard it before, but it was just not enough to remember what it was.

Soon, Master and Susuka dropped down, Susuka took cover while Master didn't. He drew his knives and walked through the opening. As Taffy and the others tried to follow, a large glass plane slid down, trapping Master on the other side. At least ten armed people in military clothing popped out of nowhere from the large room, all holding some sort of gun. The room itself was strange, and was probably an urban training area, "How nice of you to join us," said a voice over an intercom, "I wasn't expecting the leader of the Lilith to be here. I'd be more... hospitable... were the situation better, such as a meeting in a hotel room or in the tropics. However, my men seem to have a problem with you. I guess this is goodbye handsome, a shame I've never had the pleasure of meeting you, nor the opportunity to greet you. Ha ha!" a stupid joke for a woman.

The men raised their strange guns and Master yelled out, "I am the god of death!" He held his knives to the side, and Taffy had never seen him so forceful, "Bow down to me and you will not suffer!" Laugher filled the air, but Master wasn't joking.

He lunged forward at the men, who were at least twenty yards away, and they opened fire. Master danced around their bullets, continuously gaining ground. When he reached the first, he decapitated him without a pause. Then, he proceeded to dance around and stab, slash, and remove body parts and random. The speed and flurry of motion was new to Taffy, and she didn't think a human was capable of such movements by nature, "It's amazing what one will do for the person they love." Susuka was breathless, and spoke calmly. Soon, the men were dead and the glass wall came up. Master had picked up the gun they were using, and up close, it looked like something out of a video game. It was like a rifle, but had round edges, giving it a bubbled look. Master opened the chamber, shut it, then told Taffy, Yoko, and Casey to grab some.

"Hmm... amazing. It looks like a battery on the inside adds a charge to the bullet. Maybe it increases speed." Yoko pondered as Master kept moving, sheathing his knives. Taffy and the others tried to keep up, but at the end of a hallway, Master raised a hand. Only Susuka was at his side.

"You three, go up this ladder and take strategic positions. Susuka, come with me. We aren't out of the woods yet." Taffy agreed, then led the two girls up a ladder, which led to a round room with a darkened ledge big enough for them to couch down. They formed a triangle, and were able to cover all possible, points, but not all possible situations. It was soon after that Master and Susuka were dragged in at gunpoint and chained up to shackled that came from the ceiling. Ten more men, carrying regular assault riffles, surrounded the room as a naked vixen entered the room. She was very attractive, and carefully walked up to Master, as though he was a fragile object.

"Amazing! I can't believe that I'm... oh, look at me. Gushing like a little girl. But, on the other hand, I have waited for this day since I first saw you, so I'm going to enjoy this so much. Please say you will too." She put her hands together and begged Master. She sure acted like a little girl, but Taffy wasn't so sure about something. She couldn't focus her eyes on the vixen, nor get a clear scent. Something was wrong, "Please... let me... kiss you." She leaned in, and gently kissed Master on the lips, as someone would a lover. When she stepped back, her eyes told the story of how much she truly loved Master.

However, he showed no interest, as he already had Susuka, "Sorry, I'm taken. And you aren't my type, you know, with power and money and greed. Just not something I'm into, I need a woman who loves to see her enemies lie in a bloody mess in front of her." She looked to his right casually at one of the walls, and from Taffy's angle, she could see that he was smiling. The vixen was flustered as Susuka had a smug look on her face, as though she had won something.

"Oh, but I haven't even told you my name. That's proper manners, right? Okay, let me try this and make it good." She cleared her throat, and Taffy could swear she heard a strange ring, "My name is Chaos, named by my father and mother after giving birth. I think we could go well together, Serenity and Chaos, it sounds so adorable. Please? Is there something I can do to make myself more appealing? Oh, I know!" She fizzled for a second, then became a perfect copy of Susuka, down to the long blonde hair and body shape, "Is this more pleasing?"

Master looked at Chaos, as did Susuka, as he said, "Foul abomination. What manner of beast are you? I know of nothing that can imitate others, except beasts in ancient mythology. Explain yourself!" He was very angry.

One of the military soldiers came over and raised his rifle with the intention of cracking the butt against Master's skull, but Chaos raised her hand to stop him, "I will, if it is acceptable. As a young child, I was very sickly. So much so that I was supposed to die at the age of four. However, as my father was an intelligent man, he was able to to build a computer program to hold my consciousness. They taught me by themselves, and also uploaded other information into my mind, encompassing many dictionaries and encyclopedias. When I was eight, my father was able to construct a device that would let me exist as a hologram when I wanted to. For the first time, I was actually able to feel the world. I was alive. By the age of ten, I was able to control my form. I could be an old woman, an infant, any species that I knew about, but I couldn't change gender, which I didn't care about. A few years ago, my parents died, and I was left in charge. I am a powerful ruler, able to see the world through the eyes of an emotionless computer and as a living being at the same time. Then, I found you."

Master snarled as Susuka screamed out, "So what?! You've had an easy life, you've never wanted anything! We've had to fight to get where we are, to suffer through countless trials! All you had to do to learn was upload a program and you became a fighter and a general. You sicken me."

Chaos walked in front of Susuka, "But what can I do with you? If you weren't around, Serenity could be all mine. My knowledge from the computer says that killing you would be the simplest method, but... Serenity would never forgive me for killing you. This is quite the predicament. I need you gone, yet I can't kill you, nor can I order my men to do that. I could wipe you from Serenity's memory, but everything he has experienced is what draws me to him. Hmm..." Taffy was getting sick of waiting. She waved her finger in the air and the three girls began to fire at the armed soldiers. Taffy had learned more about using the leer action on her rifle, so she was able to take out almost everyone before Yoko and Casey could get one.

When the soldiers were dead, Yoko fired at Chaos' head from the side, but as expected, it went through, only slightly distorting the hologram, Perhaps we will see each other soon, and you may have a new opinion. Just remember," Chaos leaned in to Master's ear, "I can become the perfect woman for you, all you need to do is ask." She smiled as she faded away. Taffy and the others climbed down and quickly removed the chains that bound Master and Susuka.

"That was disturbing. I thought that the rumors about a computer running the military were just rumors. And I guess they sort of were, seeing as how she isn't technically a computer." Master was thinking about something, and Taffy thought she knew what it was.

"This facility, it's not really that well guarded, is it? I expected many more soldiers, and the pathways we took were one way, almost like we were being directed." A door leading to stairs opened from a solid wall, and to the relief of the Tanek, it led up, "Master, we need to get home, now!"

"Come on!" He knew exactly what was going on. Susuka tried to stop him, but he only hesitated for a second, "It's a trap! They're attacking Home!"

"What?! Then the Taneks are in danger as well! Come on, we need to hurry!" The group ran up the stairs which led directly up to a street, as the exit was an actual door to a building. As Master and Susuka ran in opposite directions, they turned around once, but Taffy didn't stay to find out why. Soon enough, Master was at her side again.

The closer they got to Home, the louder the explosions were. It wasn't just an attack, it was a siege. Taffy reloaded her rifle as they ran as Master took out the stragglers running towards home. By the time they had reached Home, it was too late.

A large section of the border wall had been destroyed, and smoke was coming out of every building in the vicinity. Master was horrified by the brutal assault, and didn't take the time to look out for any hidden danger. As he jumped inside of Home with his knives, drawn, he was met by a sea of bodies, some were hooded, some weren't. For the most part, they were military bodies, a thin silver lining in the situation. A few hooded Lilith stood at the ready, and even though they were injured, they were ready to fight off anyone that dared come through. Tears fell from their eyes when they saw Master, and all he could do was clench his fists tightly.

"When."

"Master, they came about two hours ago. Some of the people from the church volunteered to guard this wall, but... this is where they came from first. The church... fought along side the military. It was a sudden attack, but... we were able to hold them off. Our... our blood, our loved ones... Master, we weren't strong enough to save them." The man broke down into tears. The other Lilith averted their eyes to avoid doing the same thing. Taffy was sick to her stomach, as even the innocent civilians were gunned down. She couldn't react because the indescribable imagery that flooded the once peaceful streets.

Master lost all compassion, "Gather the people from the church, and any surviving soldiers, tell any who are capable to search for survivors in the buildings. Now!" In a matter of a few minutes, everyone he called for was there. The fires in the building made the searching hard, as they had to be put out first. Master stood in front of one of the soldiers, "Who else was with you?" He was silent. Master stabbed him in the leg, "Who else was sent with you?!"

"I... I won't talk." Master was angry and didn't have any patience, so he grabbed the man's head, lifted him up, then impaled him on a nearby shattered wooden beam. He died slowly and painfully, but not before Master turned to the next one.

"I'll talk! I'm with the Echo Battalion! I swear! Here, this dog tag has a digital signature that has all the members on it, and their homes. Please don't kill me!"

Master smiled, "I won't, but they will." Master snapped his fingers, and the Lilith did everything they could to end the lives of these men, which isn't to say they made it quick. Master then turned his attention to members of the church, "I was not allowed to kill you, as you were technically Lilith. However, you have betrayed us, and proved yourselves to be nothing more that spies. You will have no quarter. You will be hung in public for all to see. I can't believe my father let you start the church, what a useless notion."

One of the robed members screamed out, "The way of the Lilith are dead, don't you see?! Only by accepting the military can we truly become great, and be free from fear and weakness. Please! You must understand! We cannot survive without their help!"

Master kicked the man in the face, "Fool! We are perfect, we are fighters, artists, and family. You don't deserve to speak of the Lilith like you know anything! You will die first."

An hour passed, and Taffy was in the process of helping put out the fires, taking the wounded to the makeshift hospital areas, and thinking about what she had just joined. Of course, as was usual in the Lilith, she didn't have much time to do any real thinking. A large group of Tanek had appeared at the opening, and Master was nowhere to be found. Taffy yelled out, "Come on, I need some help!" AS she drew her revolvers and slowly moved her way over to the entrance. Some of the unoccupied Lilith, hooded or not, joined her, including Erika, John, and Artemis. Susuka had a terrified look on her face and was covered in blood. Yoko and Casey were at her side, as well as a very tall lion, "We can't play today, come back another time!"

Susuka looked up, and as Taffy stared into her eyes, she knew something had happened, as she was sure that is exactly what her eyes looked like when she saw the massacred bodies. The Tanek with her were bloodied, some had limbs wrapped, others were using wooden poles and what appeared to be parts of a building to walk, as their legs were broken. The Tanek had been hit hard. Master dropped down from the top of the wall onto a body of a still breathing soldier that had escaped notice, instantly killing him, "Yes? We're busy at the moment."

"Serenity... please. I need you. We were... our home isn't as fortified as the Lilith's Home, and my advisors were in charge of protecting the settlement. They turned on us, when we got back... we're all that's left. Please, I beg of you." She ran over to Master and hugged him tightly, the tears in her eyes were genuine. Master held her tightly as she whispered "Thank you." over and over.

Master then turned to the Lilith, who were ready to strike, "The ones who have betrayed us are the ones that shunned the Tanek. They were once our family as well, and if the church didn't have power, they still would be. I am declaring that they are once again part of the Lilith, any who disagree with my decision will be killed. Understand?!" The Lilith lowered their weapons, "Good. Now, Split off and take your bothers and sisters with you and find any survivors. I need some to come with me, I'm instating Ragnarok."

"Master," said the man who was crying, "I understand your need for revenge, but right now, your people need you more than ever. Simply being here gives them hope. I will lead the attack. They took my wife from me, and my daughter. I will do this, and I will take those he has hurt the most! Ragnarok will be carried out, and I will personally see them all suffer!"

Master snarled, but a part of him knew that this was true, "Take the information, and go. I want their screams to flood the night sky!" The man, along with about ten others left in a hurry. Taffy had briefly heard about Ragnarok from Erika, and how it was only called out once in the history of the Lilith. It was a clause that could only be instated by the current Master, and the general idea was that all those who attacked Home were to be hunted down and strung up from street lights. Their houses were to be burned to the ground, and any who stood in the way of the Lilith were to suffer the same fate. It was the reason why the Lilith had to erect the walls. Master watched the Lilith leave, and Taffy knew that he wanted to go. A part of her wanted to take revenge as well, "You, who are once again the Lilith, aid in whatever you can. Put out fires, search for survivors, anything you can do, do it!"

The Tanek accepted without a word, obviously realizing their defeat, how they were fooled, and that they were broken. Susuka asked Master, "What can I do?"

"Go with Taffy, rescue any you can. I have something I must do. Master walked away, calm as ever, but being near him gave that strange sensation again, the overwhelming hatred. Taffy didn't want to piss him off with questions at this point.

"Come on, the business district where Artemis and John live has been hit the hardest. Come on! Hey, where's John?"

Erika's face was full of sorrow, "His wife... she was killed in the initial surge. He went with them to carry out Ragnarok. Come on, we have to go without him!" Artemis was better with medicine, so he helped out where he could, Leaving Taffy, Susuka, and Erika to go off on their own. It actually wasn't a bad search and rescue team, as they were all light weight and could easily cross weakened floors without much trouble.

For the most part, the buildings only suffered slight fire damage on the outside, but one of the tallest was crumbling. A few screams could be heard on the inside, and they knew that whoever was inside wouldn't have much longer. They continued to work, rescuing people from all over, even sweeping the buildings that were still structurally sound. Five civilians were saved, but three others weren't as lucky. Taffy gave the dying their last rights, as she had practiced the words while she was in her house, and figured that although every Lilith was equal, a sacred's last rights may be a little more comforting. Not the best day, but some good did come out of it.

As the three women walked a little, silent from what they had experienced, Master's voice could be heard shouting in the distance for everyone to gather. They went to go investigate, and found that even those who could no longer walk were helped over by the Lilith was standing in a shooting range, with a sort of gallows out and torches lit to illuminate the area. Every member of the church had a rope around their necks, but it wasn't a noose, just a simple rope. He was sitting on top with one leg bent up and the other hanging down, occasionally kicking one of the now naked people, "Come one, come all. I was about to hang these traitors, but I came up with a better idea." Each person was gagged, "I've given them all some Pandora and I've placed sharped objects below the gallows. Before that, though, I've scattered rocks all around the area in which you all are standing. Have some fun." He hopped down with the Lilith, and threw a stone. Soon, everybody was.

Taffy had never heard of Pandora, but assumed it was some sort of consumable. Erika informed her that it was some type of drug, but then continued to throw rocks. After a short time, Master held his hand up, "Now, for the grand finale. Marksmen, if you would." The floor under their feet opened, and gunshots came from the rooftops, only partially separating the ropes. They didn't fall any, but were gagging. More suffering. Soon, a child walked up on the gallows with a knife and cut them loose, allowing them to become impaled on the random objects. A brutal way to die, but it was deserved.

The crowd dispersed, and Susuka walked over to Master. They talked quietly about private matters, but Taffy didn't want to know what they were. She walked away towards her house, when she was stopped by Yoko, "Hi, nice to see you again. I was wondering, since I can't enter the empty residential district yet, can I... uh... stay with you tonight?"

Taffy was indecisive at first, but decided that it couldn't hurt. She could ask Yoko about herself, and maybe get all of the confused feelings out of her head, "Um, sure, but, can I ask you a question? Why are your breasts so large? And... are they... uh..."

"Um... maybe we should talk about this in private, okay?"

"Uh... okay."
