A New Life in a New Body

The List

We went back to my house luckily all my stuff was there; apparently they didn't bother checking up on me. I grabbed my hacking gear, computer and monitor, and a power strip to ensure that I would be able to hook it up. And I grabbed my gun from under the pillow and my gun case along with enough ammo to bring down an army. I know I don't really need all this crap... but it really made me feel better.

"What the hell," Klaw stated.

"You got enough fire power there or what," Chris asked, dumbfounded.

"Go ahead and laugh," I replied.

"Yeah just hurry it up," Klaw said.

"Well that should be everything...," I thought out loud.

"Well just hurry up. I don't like this neighborhood," Klaw said

"I concur," Lisa said. In fact it's all she said all night.

With that I closed the trunk and got in the car. It was a quiet ride back to the hide out. We unloaded the stuff onto the elevator and strapped it down. We descended into the depths of the shaft ending at the hideout. It was dark... it was home.

I went to mine and Lisa's room and I set up my computer. It took me a little while but I had managed to get it set up. I started looking up old contacts that may be invovled with the Government on the furry attacks. None of them knew I was alive; I fell of the face of the map after my accident, and I let myself stay dead.

I then made a list of who I knew were involved with the sniffers. Then I looked up their current addresses, and put them into a document. These would be the first I'd hit up with information first, then kill them to tie up loose ends I can't have any loose ends. I heard walking behind me.

"What's all this," Lisa asked.

"It's a list of my old contacts, I think they might be helpful," I replied.

"Why did you leave," she asked, with just a subtle tone of hurt.

"I had to know exactly who I was," I said.

"What do you mean who you were," she inquired puzzled.

"I didn't know if I was a clone of my former self," I admitted," I was worried that i had actually died five years ago. But apparently I lived through ever broken bone. Can't remember a damn thing though, probably just blocked it out of my mind."

"You are a fool," she said.

"How," I asked

"You are so silly over some little thing like that," she replied.

"I don't see how I was being silly but whatever," I said.

"Surely you can't be serious," she stated

"I am," I said just a little puzzled

"Well of course you are you. Didn't you feel it in your heart," she said.

"Kind of," I agreed

"Then that should have been enough to make you sure you were you," she said

"Oh... I see kind of," I replied a little disbelieving

"You seem as if you changed. How did you do all of that stuff," she inquired.

"I was in the military for a few years to pay for college, I was a survival expert," I said simply.

"Like covert ops... or...," she inquired further.

"More like longer than expected insertion," I cut her off.

"So in other words...," she pushed.

"Yes, I was, I was damn good too," I told her.

"What happened," she pushed.

"Killed my superior," I said proudly.

"Why," she asked appalled.

"He was going to defect, and I couldn't bring him back alive," I admitted.

Well all in all the rest of the night went along like that. She was amazed at how cautions you have to be, no fire, no loud noise, and cold foul tasting food. I admitted it wasn't easy being alone every night but you get used to it as time goes on. It's nice I finally met someone like her. I never felt I would find someone so special...
