Terror of The Frost Dragon
#4 of Legend of the Tiger Clan
After a couple days of living in the village Linda felt like she was one of the tribe and became a close friend of Zeng, the two spent practically everyday together with Zeng teaching Linda how to fend for herself in the wild while Linda taught Zeng literacy and math, to them it felt liked they were brother and sister but to Zengs mothers it was more than that.
One morning Zeng and Linda went to go on a little fishing trip to get some dinner while his mothers went into the village market for some vegetables. Upon arriving at the river Zeng immediately set up the fishing rods while Linda pulled out a blanket along with some bread she made herself and thankfully Zeng didn't know that there was something more to their little picnic.
"Um Zeng?"
"Yeah?"
"I never got to thank you for saving me and thanking your village for taking care of me."
She said while her cheeks blushed a little as Zeng took a bite of the bread.
"It was no big deal, besides we'll repay you once we take you back to the city and-WHOA!"
One of the rods suddenly began to wiggle violently as Zeng quickly yanked, jerked and grunted as he and the fish seemed an equal match until at last the fish was pulled out of the river weighing a good ten pounds with a nice fat belly to go with it and Linda couldn't help but applaud for him as he showed of the catch, with that they headed for the village for a well deserved meal but Linda was somewhat disappointed about the day since she never got to tell Zeng how she really felt about him.
The next day seemed no different then yesterday as some of the villagers went on a hunt while the others tended to their daily chores while Zeng and Linda continued to give each other lessons.
"Z-E-N-G...Huh so that's how my name is spelled."
"See? told you it was easy...brrrrr did it just get cold all of the sudden?"
"y-y-Yeah and it's the middle of summer."
As the chilling air began to set in a thundering roar was heard all around the village and Zengs roof suddenly began to grow icicles while a dark enormous shadow swooped over followed by a short groundshaking thud and as Zeng peeked out his window he spotted a huge frost dragon attacking the village as several villagers were frozen by its breath.
"Linda stay here!"
"But Zeng-!"
"ALL VILLAGERS TO ARMS!!! TO ARRRMS!!!"
A battle was ingnited as the villagers used all their weapons but their stone arrowheads and spears could only scratch the surface of its skin, as the dragon swung its tail destroying Zengs hut along with several others he spotted a claymore and a great axe that fell out of a chest in his mothers bedroom and without thinking he grabbed the great axe first and slashed the dragons chest wounding him slightly.
"You're going to pay for that boy...none dare injure the almighty Glayce..."
"Well GLAYCE let's see what kind of attitude you have when I skin your pathetic carcass!!"
Because of his amazing speed Zeng slipped past the dragon as it tried to blast him with his frost breath and landing another wound in his leg but not before getting slapped away by the left wing. During the fight Glayce noticed the tattoo on Zengs arm and a chill of fright suddenly overcame him.
"That mark-!"
"RaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHH!!!!"
"GET AWAY FROM ME!!!!"
Using his tail once more Glayce slammned Zeng into a tree knocking him out and the last thing Zeng could hear was a chilling roar. Moments later Zeng awoke to the feeling of his mothers paw stroking his face as he slowly opened his eyes.
"THE VILLAGE-AGH!"
"Easy there sweetie! you've got quite a bump."
Sharon said as Zeng felt the bandage on his head while still remembering the attack on his village.
"Mother where are the others?"
The room suddenly fell silent as her head sank before Elicia held his hand to prepare him for the worst.
"Zeng....they're all gone...we're the only ones left..."
Zengs eyes slowly filled with tears, he couldn't believe what he was hearing, all of the clan, all of his childhood friends were gone in that one attack. As he sank his head his mothers comforted him allowing him to let out his feelings.
"Zeng....if you want you and your family could live with me and the city...I-I could take care of you."
Linda sat next to him before he stared at her with eyes still filled with tears then he immediately hugged her while she held his head.
"Thank you..."
With that being said they buried their dead and packed their things for the coming trip tommorow but not before Sharon handed back Zeng the weapons he found.
"These were for your coming of age ceremony tommorow. They're made of Thorium Ore, Elicia and I made them ourselves."
Although he was focused on revenge Zeng could not ignore the love of his mothers as he hugged Sharon greatly as he ran into her arms. Although his childhood was now over Zeng and his family ventured to the city, while in a distant ice cave Glayce was recovering from his wounds while a few hooded figures kneeled before him.
"The boy will be baring a mark on his arm...find him, kill him and you wil be rewarded greatly."
"The Necrons are at your service my lord."
