#2 of The New Couple
As the Prince of Wels tries to keep peace in his principality, he tries to prevent damage between two warring houses. Until he decides to punish them in a unique way and how the houses react with such a punishment.
The New Couple
(Baron Burckno)
While the prince's steward, only had a small force. I had a feeling that, the rest of the prince's force was on its way and it was a force to reckon with. I looked at my son and ordered, "I will be going with the steward to meet the prince. I need you to lead the main force back home. I will only be taking my steward and my body guards."
I immediately looked at Baron Kolvak, after a minute of thought. He answered, "it will be my honor, to visit my prince." Their he looked at, who I believe to be his daughter, and told her, "take the army back, I will only need my trusted steward." He then looked at me and said, "unlike a certain cougar, who needs his body guard against an elk."
Than the Steward answered, "enough, we have a long way to go. Also let the prince, decide what is to be done." As Baron Kolvak and me, started walking. The prince's army started to form around us. They obviously did this to prevent us from trying to escape, from our trip to the prince.
At the Castle
(The Prince)
While waiting in my court, they were announced by my steward, "in the presence of our Lord. Representing house Kolvak of the, Barony of Umblin, Baron Kolvak. Representing house Antelo of the, Barony of Antel, Baron Burckno." Their they walked in, and bowed in the ceremonial way.
I began, "allow me to be blunt, I am trying hard not to march you two, to the gallows. I will not and cannot allow, my barons to fight, battles like that bring disorder. Now I will allow you to defend yourself, thought I doubt you could."
I than looked at Baron Kolvak who said, "My great Prince, please be merciful. My house has served your house for over a century. Even more your father's wife, was my aunt. Given to your father, to show our service to your great house. Unlike Baron Burckno, we are the same species, we are both elk. Our two houses are in the same herd. My actions are there only to protect the greatness of your principality."
I than looked at Baron Burckno, who answered, "My great Prince, I understand that my actions seem extreme. Baron Kolvak, has been raiding my barony, and has blocked all trade between our two baronies. As you know sir, I have used trade, to protect my barony. Which sir, only adds to your greatness. I know, I do not share your blood, and not a part of you herd, but I will still serve you in every way I know."
I looked at them and told them, "so you believe, I care more about blood than stability. Leave, I will decide on your punishment later." As they left, I told my steward, "what is your suggestion for this issue. I don't want to needlessly punish, yet I need these two baronies to be at peace."
While thinking, the Steward said quietly, "to bad they can't be the same species. Marriage usually solves this issue." While he was still thinking, obviously blowing off what he just said. I looked straight at him with a smile. He answered, "my liege, have you thought of a solution, to this issue?"
