That summer. God have mercy on their souls . . . For he had none to give.

"It was in the summer of 1985, at the old Sea Captain's house by the lake; I still remember that night like it was yesterday. My first case after being promoted to detective was a murder suicide, a grisly scene that caused even the most hardened detectives around me to gag. We've seen rapes, murders, child abduction: but nothing as ghastly as what we saw on that night."

"It was 6 P.M. when I received the call. As I drove to the crime scene I pontificated, I thought it would be another druggie overdose, or maybe another gang shootout, but even with my thirty years on the force; nothing could prepare us for this. The crime scene was a house by the lake, the owner: a man referred to as "the Captain" was a decorated WWII Naval veteran who hand built the house himself, judging by all the medals and pictures we saw hanging on his wall. Maybe it was the location, maybe it was his preference of being near water, whichever it was; he lived happily by the lake."

"I recall the locals whispered ghost stories claiming the deceased liked to hang out the lake house. I mused on those local legends for the briefest of moments before I was was promptly snapped back to reality as dispatch reached the house minutes too late. Someone jumped off the roof; he didn't survive the fall. Wasn't long till law enforcement and forensics flooded the scene."

"The crime scene had 7 victims and two survivors, one in a coma and the other too traumatized to talk. Among the dead however we found a peculiar individual: An immigrant named Lee Jin-ho, or as the forensics team started jokingly calling him "Jindo, the Jumper" after reading his passport. Judging by his effects and the semi blank canvas in his room: we came to the conclusion he was an aspiring artist."

"Seven girls, one boy, the Seven of the girls were positioned as if they were statues, injuries indicated they were tortured, but whether they died by injury or shock is unknown. There were even paintings depicting how each had died . . . It wasn't until our forensics team weeks later examined the paintings that we realized, though painted with normal paint at first: was mixed, pigmented, and finished with the blood of the victims!"

"After some investigating, we found some cameras at the crime scene and a lot of tapes. Turns out those "Clean Cut Kids" were having their own "swingers group"; I knew they were at that age, but seeing it didn't make it more believable. I'll tell you this much, most of them seemed like they were amateur ZZ movies. Sorting through the footage, it was when we finally reached the time of the murders, we were shocked by the way they were treated Jin, it just seemed unreal: treatment that would put the most extreme dominatrix to shame."

"One of the victims we identified as Allison walked down the hallway, she walked with Brianna: one of our survivors: we could barely make out dialogue though; my guess as a result of the damage on the tape..."

FOOTAGE

_Allison was walking down the hallway in nothing save her bra and panties; someone following her as they recorded.

Allison: I'm just saying, maybe we shouldn't have done this. I mean, yeah, I was upset, but-

Brianna: Look, remember what I said earlier? You two can hate me as much as you want, I can take. But you two deserve each other. He'll thank me one-_

Allison: Shh! You hear that?

Though muffled, the lapine and vulpine could make out the sounds of someone weeping. They followed the source till they reached the den where they left their items. There, on his knees in middle of the den was Jin; in his arms he cradled something, but the focus blurred too much to make out what it was. The two females approached the weeping canine, the rabbit kneeling beside him.

Jin: "You killed them...You killed them... You killed them"

Allison: Are you ok, Jin? Look, I know I was upset, but... Oh my God, Jin, what did you do to your-

The rabbit never finished; she was cut off when the canine went silent. Before she could react, one of his hands suddenly grabbed onto her throat. Slowly, the Jindo looked at her . . . with a scowl that seemed to pierce right through her.

Jin: YOU KILLED THEM!

The next thing everyone knew, the canine shot up, then slammed the unfortunate rabbit against the wall. Though shocked at first, the vixen ran to the rabbit's aid.

Brianna: Jin Stop! Let go of her!

She tried to pry the enraged Jindo off her friend, but he was was surprisingly stronger than his spindly frame let on. The fruitless action was met by a slap to the face so hard as it knocked Brianna away; as she fell, she hit her head on the coffee table, then laid motionless on the floor. Over the form of the unconscious vixen, the footage showed Allison struggle against the Jindo's grip, but she could not get free. The footage ending as the enraged canine proceeded to punch the rabbit into unconsciousness.

END FOOTAGE

"There was only one girl who survived, Kendall, and she hasn't been much help: any attempts to get any recollection of the events is only met with tears, panic attacks, and mental breakdowns. The only tape we had from the swingers group recorded part of the massacre. We only saw one death on camera, but after that one of the fleeing victims must have accidentally knocked the camera over in a panic: all we got after that was screams and silence."

"The Murder tape made even the most hardened of our skins crawl. We saw Jin with one of the victims, Allison, the other victim in the room already dead and Brianna's unconscious form strung up near the far wall. Also strung up in the room, through the video's haze, was Kendall. She struggled against her bindings in an attempt to help her friend, but was forced to watch the rabbit go through the unspeakable. Through the screams, we heard Allison beg him to end her life; unable to bare the pain he administrated. I remember Jin's corpse at the crime scene clutching one of her severed ears. From what my coworkers told me the worst was still yet to come, but for the sake of my sanity I didn't watch to the end. I didn't see the point; especially when it wasn't necessary to arrest the perpetrator of a murder suicide; it was pretty much a shut case at that point."

"Brianna was immediately rushed to the emergency room soon as the paramedics got on the scene. Everyone did all they could, but after a year of life support; it was obviously she was never gonna wake up. It was hard on her family, but they knew it was time to pull the plug, An unfortunate turn of events that left Kendall the sole survivor and witness to the Jindo's atrocities."

"From what we've been told by Kendall before she broke down, Jin and Allison became an item little over a year prior; right when their swinger's group started. A few weeks ago, however, they got into an argument and were taking a break from each other. Another thing was that the object he was "mourning" was a portrait. Not just any portrait, but that of a family that he drew himself. We were told how nearly obsessed with art Jin was . . . and how he was an orphan since he was six."

"From what we gathered, he was so into his work, that he actually spoke to everything he made as if they could reply back. I may not know much about psychology, but it doesn't take rocket science to say this boy needed help. It may have an extreme case of one's coping mechanism; only this one was pushed over the edge."

"From what I heard the Captain passed away three weeks after the murders and the house of the massacre was turned into a museum. Rumor has it that should one disrespect the artwork the ghost of Jin will supposedly leave a painting detailing your death. More so, the ghosts of the victims are said to roam around the lakeside; unable to enter the area where they were killed. The local's story seems to vary from person to person: But they all seem to agree on that one final point.I haven't tested it for myself and I haven't heard any cases pertaining to it: but despite my skepticism it is still not a risk I am willing to take."
