Finding it rather odd that her files would still be locked even after all I've done. Until it dawned on me, Nadai's files might have become corrupted over the millennia. That seemed like the strongest possibility or they simply require an access code. Either way it was going to have to wait until after I've passed my tribe's final trial. There are two people I know that could repair and unlock all Nadai's database.

"Nadai, let's not stress about it for now please, brief us on all the weapons." I said. She gave a soft chime then slowly pulled up the detailed records of each weapon. Being our resident weapon's expert Launa read the files as the chambers opened. For some reason I felt drawn to the Scythe so I removed it and held it in my hands. "To activate the blades simply squeeze the handle and they'll activate." Nadai informed.

Moving out into the hallway so nobody would get hurt then activated the scythe. Just like Nadai informed both hard light blades came online in quite vibrantly. For a few seconds the blades began white then slowly they shifted to violet color. As I loosened my grip both emitters turned off and the weapon vanished from sight. Until I noticed a soft glow coming from my wrist stating my weapon fused with me.

"Umm, Nova could you please rejoin us unless you've gone blind out there." Launa teased. Chuckling as I gave my left wrist a shake then walked back into the weapon's room. "Alright, let's discuss which one of us gets to pick their new equipment shall we." She added. Sayber opted out of picking one saying she prefers using her own natural abilities. Respecting her choice as the tiopard walked out into the hallway leaving us alone.

"Azzy, please take the Neo-steel Cane its best suited for a mage like yourself. It also doubles as a bow staff in the event your magic ever ends up being nullified. At least you won't be defenseless during a fight or do you want time to think?" I said. The raven saw the logic in my suggestion then reached into the cane's chamber. Just like what happened with me the instant she touched it merged with her being.

"Alright, Nova mind sharing with me just how I go about summoning my staff?" She asked. Fortunately I had an answer for her so I showed Azzy exactly how it was done. Mirroring my motions and in a flash the Neo-steel Cane appeared in her right hand. "Azzy the gem at the tip shall remain dormant until a blood pact is established. Otherwise it's simply an over glorified cane with nothing else going for it." Nadai stated.

Re-summoning the cane, extended her right hand then with a free claw cut her palm. As the blood began to well up, Azzy placed her wound onto the milky pink crystal. Next she recited a short heart felt promise then waited for something to happen. Sure enough the crystal began to glow thus signaling the cane belonged to Azzy. "I think I speak for everyone how much a boost will Azzy's magic receive?" I asked.

The A.I took a few seconds to analyze Azzy's power and the size of the gemstone. "With Azzy's impressive magical aura I can safely say she'll receive a large boost. Though if you'd prefer an accurate number than her output will be a thousand fold. This is mainly due to the sheer size of the crystal I can say with such confidence. Adamantite can be super heated into a gem or super chilled into a metal." She replied.

Nadai went onto say that in it's gem form it can boost a mage's power immensely. It can take the tiniest of spells and making them capable of doing a lot of damage. This proved to be a sobering thought to not only Azzy but, Launa and I as well. I made a wise choice by having Azzy take it because of her level headed demeanor. "Azzy I'd advise practicing with that someplace safe until you've mastered it." Launa stated.

Happily agreeing with the black feline though Azzy was unsure about something. Now using the magical aspect of the cane was easy enough for the raven to master. As for its other attribute was an avenue she never thought she'd have to explore. Despite me making a rational point after she removed it from the chamber. "Well, Azzy you can ask either Ballista or Elder Vyekk to train you." I suggested.

"Umm, can we talk further training after Launa and I have our shiny new toys." Sabrina said. Turning my attention to the impatient super werewolf standing by the hammer. I couldn't help chuckling in response as she reminded me of a child at Christmas. "Alright, Sabrina since you're dying to play with the hammer, Nadai if you please." I said. Giving me a soft chime, opened the chamber and turned off the protection field.

As her large muscled arm reached into the chamber my eyes flashed briefly. Upon touching the handle her hand snapped back as her fur suddenly poofed out. Sabrina looked like a mountain sized cotton ball with eyes blinking several times. Launa cracked up and pointed at Sabrina's new look even Azzy started giggling. Granted I'm the person responsible but, even I couldn't keep a straight face at all.

"VERY FUNNY! You stupid digital fox I'd break you in half if you had a body." She growled. Nadai's hologram looked at her then cocked it's head off to the side in confusion. It was at that point I roared with laughter and unfortunately gave myself away. A pair of angry glowing white eyes locked onto me but, she restrained herself. Sabrina laughed at herself for getting surprised like that then took the hammer.

For a werewolf of Sabrina's caliper the hammer looked tiny just from comparison. Until it began glowing then it's appearance changed matching it wielder's personality. "Curious these weapons seem to morph when someone takes possession of them. I wonder if the weapon you decide to take will do the same, Launa." Azzy stated. Launa looked at Nadai, asked her if she could disarm the sword's security measures.

"Apologies, Miss Launa but, I can't allow you access to the Plasma Sword Axe." Nadai said. Quickly I asked the computer why couldn't, Launa have the weapon she wanted. "Again apologies sir per my programming I'll only follow your commands." She added. Granting the computer my alright for Launa to take the sword for herself. She gave a confirmation beep the door opened and the security field shut down.

Before Launa reached into the chamber she warned me not to try anything. Normally I'm up for a challenge but, there are other things that are more important. Now with two weapons remaining Launa took her time inspecting each one. The Morning Star and Shield would be great additions to her already vast collection. Sadly Launa had already settled on the Sword Axe when she first laid eyes upon it.

After removing it from the chamber than began to wield her new weapon. I watched Launa practice with her new weapons with such skill was quite admirable. Than she gave her wrist a flick thus activating the emitter than it changed colors. Going from a bright white to a nice rich orange color along altering it's current size. Sabrina and Azzy joined her I decided to step out into the hall where Sayber was.

Placing a hand gently on her large bicep making her perk up and look down. Silently asking the tiopard if she was positive about not wanting a weapon also. She leaned over, placed a hand a under my chin and kissed me gently on the forehead. Telling me that she appreciated the gesture but, she wasn't changing her mind. So I reentered the cache and had Nadai secure the other weapons for the time being.

Not only that the Morning Star and the Shield were still in the testing stages. From there we went back topside where we spent more time using our new weapons. By dinner time everyone could summon and dismiss them like it was second nature. After dessert everyone decided to turn in early so we could start early tomorrow. Like Azzy and the others agreed I would under take some kind of mid-term exam

Since my physical training is reaching it's peak now it was time to train my mind. Learning how to read thoughts and move objects with my mind had been difficult. Along with practicing magic luckily for me everything came with time and effort. One thing still ate away at me was Launa, she remained aloof around me. I stayed up the night before to come up a plan that would break this barrier for good.

After breakfast I pulled Sabrina aside then told her what I was planning on doing. "Launa isn't stupid the way her mind works is like walking through a minefield. If you're serious about doing this Nova you'd better think every detail out first." Sabrina stated. Azzy and Sayber had overheard our chat and were in full agreement with her. Even though it did qualify as a stupid idea but, it should earn me Launa's respect.

"Hey, Launa when you have a minute there's something I want to talk to you about." I stated. Glancing over her shoulder at me and nodded okay then she resumed cleaning up. From there I went upstairs to the room she's been using since my training began. Resting stoically on it's stand was Ravenaire the weapon Launa forged herself. The blade started glowing with special runes as the mighty sword approached me.

"Forgive me for disturbing you Ravenaire but, I could really use your help, friend." I said. Extending my hand out hoping the intelligent sword would be willing to assist. It rotated in midair thus permitting me to grasp the handle and allowing us to speak. Once we finished talking the large sword slowly returned to it's resting place. Thanking it for listening not realizing that Launa had been listening the entire time.

She came up to her room and stood in the doorway while I consulted Ravenaire. "Oh, Nova I do hope that you're not planning on stealing any of my underwear." She teased. I could tell right away that she was playing stupid mainly to gauge my reaction. As I looked past Launa's red tinted sunglasses and into those soft steel blue eyes. "After all that has happened isn't fair but, I need to know do you hate me?" I asked.

Poor Launa wasn't expecting such a direct question that it made her flinch. Kneeling down in front of me then she reached over, placing a hand on my cheek. "Oh Nova... Nova, I don't hate you, never. It's just that I never like anyone making decisions for me. I guess that's why I have been taking it out on you wrongly for so long. I... I am so sorry Nova for making you feel this way, I should never make you feel punished for all the hard work you did for me and my friends." She admitted.

"If you feel that way Launa then there's something I'd like from you first." I stated. Perking up where she knelt as I stepped closer and hugged her around the neck. Chuckling as the Warrior Trickster happily returned my hug then we heard footsteps. It wasn't long before I picked up on Sayber's scent coming towards our location. "Forgive the interruption you two but, something is coming this way." She informed.

We pulled apart then Launa patted my back and followed Sayber outside. As I went to do the same, Ravenaire began to pulsate with this strange energy. It was almost like the sword was asking me to take it along in case there's trouble. Quickly grasping the large weapon's handle then rushed to catch up with Launa. Upon reaching the lobby my Soul Gaze confirmed that someone was indeed coming.

Even from this distance I could sense that they possessed incredible life force. The energy resonating from Ravenaire warned me to be on guard with this intruder. Vanishing like a blur I didn't waste anytime heading for their current location. Once I was in the vicinity I vaulted to the top of a nearby building and waited. Sure enough the cloaked figure was heading directly for the Haunt and the others.

My first instinct was the well being of my friends so I held my current position. Carefully waiting for the right opportunity to make them regret coming here. I got my chance, silently launching off the building Launa's weapon at the ready. Closing the distance between us that when the figure spun around and reacted. The mystically endowed steel clashed violently with the steel of my enemy's blade.

As the explosively loud bang of clashing weapons thus piercing the silence. In that same instant Launa learned of my fight then had everyone follow her. Fortunately it would take everyone at least ten minutes to reach our present location. Therefore that gave me time to drive this intruder from here as the battle continued. I don't think my opponent expected someone of my size to begin pushing them back.

Next I thrusted Ravenaire up, parrying their sword then spun around to the right. They quickly countered my sword attack but, not when I kicked their leg out. Knocking them off balance even their hood failed to keep their identity a secret. Thus revealing that my opponent was in fact a bright silver on black furred werewolf. That wasn't the worst part this warrior was also female which made me hesitate.

This fact wasn't lost on the wolfess as she swung her large sword at my throat. Reacting quickly Ravenaire moved to intercept causing another loud clash of metal. The impact put plenty of space between thus giving me time to reassess the situation. Strange the werewolf's skill with a dual-bladed heavy long sword seemed familiar. What bugged me the most about this there's one person that uses this sword style.

"I'm overrasket at dyktige krigere er ikke kort forsyning i denne alderen. Så maling meg imponert, men du har mye å lære gutt og min talenter vil bare ta deg langt."* She said. Sadly the language in which she spoke made me to lower my guard. Thus granting the silver and black werewolf the perfect opportunity to counter. Timing it perfectly she moved her free hand from my line of sight then waited to strike.

(*Translation- "I'm surprised that skilled warriors aren't in short supply in this age. So paint me impressed, but you have a lot to learn boy and my talents will only take you far.")

Than without any warning her fist slammed into my jaw knocking me sideways. Skidding for a bit before I was able to use the momentum to counter attack. By using my longer than normal tail to reach out and coil it around her right ankle. I've gotta thank Sayber for showing me how to use my tail like an extra appendage. Using all the strength I built up in it to yank the werewolf's legs out from under her.

Cursing furiously as she hit the ground then upon being relieved of her weapon. As I aimed Ravenaire at my enemy when someone grabbed the back of my shirt. Suddenly I was jerked back with a lot of force only to be caught by familiar arms. "Nova, I'll deal with you shortly and as for you are you okay old friend?" Launa said. Next she bent over, extending her hand out to the werewolf and helped her up.

Sayber placed me back onto the ground but, I kept Launa's weapon at the ready. "Nova, stand down! She's not our enemy I asked E'leisa to come here. Honestly, I wasn't exactly sure when you where going to show up and not without busting heads first. You don't know when to stop proving me wrong huh, old friend." She added. Launa raised her right hand up then Ravenaire flew from my hands into hers.

"Let meg være ærlig med deg Black Blade, jeg har kjempet trangen, men studenten du skrøt på var for mye å gå forbi. Jeg ønsket å se selv om han er så godt du sier han er. Jeg merket at han holder sverdet godt og slik ferdighet kan bli utnyttet bedre med min hjelp. Men jeg tror at med din hjelp kan jeg lære mer om ham før jeg virkelig begynner."* E'leisa replied.

(*Translation- "Let me be honest with you Black Blade, I've been fighting the urge, but the student you boasted on was too much to pass up. I wanted to see for myself if he is as good you say he is. I noticed that he holds his sword very well and such a skill can be harnessed better with my help. But I believe that with your help I can learn a little more about him before I really begin.")

Nodding alright Launa rested her sword on her shoulder then we headed back. Where she and Azzy told my story to E'leisa while Sabrina and I did some training. Sayber decided to watch us nearby, I sensed her uneasiness regarding our new guest. Kindly asking Sabrina to hold on for a second then I walked towards the feline. Even though she was sitting Sayber was still taller than me as I touched her bicep.

Not expecting me to do that she jumped the moment my hand made contact. "Sayber you can tell me but, to venture a guess our new guest has you worried." I said. Blinking rapidly then she bumped her head against mine as gently as she could. "I figured as much so for now, let's give her the benefit of the doubt." I informed. Leaning up where I planted a soft kiss upon her forehead making the tiopard purr.

Sabrina rolled her eyes at the gesture despite feeling no differently than Sayber. Seeing as E'leisa was a friend of Launa's it's only fair that she's given a chance. Who knows I might be able to benefit from E'leisa's vast level of battlefield experience. Fortunately I wasn't the only one that believed that very thing as Launa reappeared. "Great minds think alike I'm confident she'll give me a good evaluation." She said.

"While you, Azzy and your friend make preparations we're not done yet, Nova." Sabrina said. Next she turned to face Sayber then approached the feline as I watched curiously. They talked for a little bit until Sayber tilted her head to the left to look over at me. She gave me an odd smile before the towering pair approached my location. It didn't take a rocket scientist, they wanted to do some two on one sparring.

Not seeing a problem with since the sun had barely set so we went back outside. "Hold up Sabrina, Sayber this discussion involves you as well, Nova please take a walk. I'm not trying to be mean but, could you go someplace your ears can't hear us?" Azzy stated. Nodding alright at the raven I vanished from sight to the other side of the city. Where I engaged in some solo practice until somebody summoned me for dinner.

Mainly on improving my intuitive reaction times and midair dexterity skills. Not long after beginning I noticed my weighted clothing wasn't slowing me down. Sadly I began using the heaviest level the temple permitted for all of its students. Therefore I needed to find someone that could fabricate some heavier clothes for me. Curiosity took over at this point I removed all of the weighted stuff from my body.

Next I crouched down then with all of my strength rocketed high into the air. Flying well over five thousand feet into the air with little signs of slowing down. Thank heavens this city was abandoned and that no planes anywhere near here. As I reached the apex of my jump then began my return to earth I tried something. Timing my rate of speed then opened a portal just ahead then rotated in mid fall.

So that when I enter the incoming portal I will be upright upon my exiting it. All I've got to do is figure out about how to come to a safe and complete stop. I simply need to concern myself with stopping which shouldn't be a huge problem. Especially if my angle is accurate enough and those electrical cables aren't weak. That's the only lynch pin is this crazed plan of mine since I've got no safety net.

Once the portal I opened earlier came into view but, I had to adjust myself. I sank into a smokey purple gateway just like a ball into a hoop but, not my exit. Let's just say those cables held up to a point only to snap then I hit the ground hard. Leaving a forty yard long grove in the pavement, groaning hard as I got up. "Okay, soo not going to try something like that again without planning ahead." I stated.

Next I fetched my weighted clothes but, before I could even put them back on. My senses pinged instead of calling Ravenaire to me I chose to call upon my scythe. Though as I examined the signature it was Sayber, she was probably fetching me. Before dismissing my weapon someone rushed towards me from another direction. With a flick of the wrist I activated the smaller emitter and readied it like a spear.

Saving the larger hard light blade as a backup while kept all my senses sharp. "Hmm, hadde Black Blade rett da hun sa det er nesten umulig å snike opp på deg.*" E'leisa said. Somehow I wasn't surprised by her appearance but, I erred on the side of caution. Concerned what her intentions were for me this time so I activated my Soul Gaze. The aura given off by E'leisa's soul began to shroud her as a nice red coloration.

(*Translation- "Hmm, Black Blade was right when she said it's almost impossible to sneak up on you.")

"Ah, så det er blikket ditt sjel, informerte sort blad meg om at strømmen din. .. kunne lese fiendens sjel deretter umiddelbart mot dem. Slike en sjelden evne synes ikke å ha noen slags blind flekk. Men hvis jeg skulle forbli stille enn du ikke klarer å angripe eller forsvare."* She revealed. Granted E'leisa's assessment was correct but, she was wrong about one minor detail. Vanishing from sight then I slipped around behind her before she noticed.

(*Translation- "Ah, so that's your soul gaze, Black blade informed me of that power of yours. Being able to read the enemy's soul then instantly counter them. Such a rare ability doesn't seem to possess any sort of blind spot. Though if I were to remain still than you're unable to either attack or defend.")

"You're correct if my enemy stands still than I can't react, one way or the other. However I'm presently learning a technique that'll help me counter such a crutch. Now let's discuss what your real purpose for coming here I doubt it's to test me. Granted Launa wouldn't lie to me about something like that but, I don't know you. Therefore I request to know your reasons for coming to this place, Silver Valkerie." I replied.

"Like jeg fortalte sort blad jeg var spent på å se om du var virkelig verd undervisning. Under våre basketak fascinert du meg spesielt naturlig talent med et sverd. Også jeg er godt klar over at du ikke forstår et eneste ord jeg har å si riktig?*" E'leisa said. My ability to read minds is good but, it's far from being completely perfected. I carefully asked for the werewolf's consent to create a mental bridge between us.

(*Translation- "Like I told Black blade I was curious to see if you were truly worth teaching. During our scuffle you intrigued me especially your natural talent with a sword. Also I'm well aware that you don't understand a single word I've been saying correct?")

<Could you kneel down please I need to have direct contact to create the link. It'll take a few seconds to forge and it'll also allow you to converse with the others.> I said. Naturally the werewolf flinched upon hearing my voice directly inside her mind. "E'leisa, it's alright believe it or not Nova and Azzy actually have a similar link. Nova grants her access to his memories which she uses to improve his training." Launa stated.

"Quite nyttig ferdighet, men jeg er nysgjerrig av sin sikkerhet under slaget som forhold. Kanskje er en pre-test for min venn omsorg å hjelpe meg sette alt opp. Som for resten av dere, ta de neste tretti minuttene for å tilberede.*" E'leisa informed. Next Launa and her vanished via a teleportation spell to the furthest end of the city. "If this is a battle simulation than we'll need to prepare." I pointed out.

(*Translation- "Quite the handy skill but, I'm curious of it's security during battle like conditions. Perhaps a pre-test is in order my friend care to help me set everything up. As for the rest of you, take the next thirty minutes to prepare yourselves.")

"Alright, how do we go about our preparations since they're working together?" Azzy asked. I began pacing around racking my brain to come up with some kind of strategy. To make matters worse when I start pacing, I tend to start mumbling to myself. It shocked Azzy and Sayber but, as for Sabrina she saw the chance to get even. As she went to make her move she was stopped short by an overprotective tiopard.

"Now isn't the time to get even for being turned into a mountain sized fuzz ball." Sayber began. Next the feline gave a loud whistle in my direction then flagged me over to her. Doing as she requested and made my way over there then flicked my forehead. It was more like a gentle poke and she only did to stop my strange ramblings. "We can't help you Nova if you continue to act like you're crazy." She remarked.

Once again the tiopard is a woman of few words and I grown fond of her honesty. Looking into her golden yellow eyes as she stared back a plan began forming. As I turned to Sayber recalling that she fought Launa to a stand still back in the day. Sure enough I was hit by inspiration so I fetched a stick off the ground and knelt down. Where I began drawing while the others huddle around me watching with interest.

"We know Launa and E'leisa are old friends and spent years fighting together. In addition the werewolf also imparted her knowledge onto Launa centuries ago. So they know each other's moves intimately therefore we need to separate them. I gained a pretty good idea of what E'leisa's skills are when she first arrived here. Her battle reflexes are razor sharp so I'll need a werewolf to fight a werewolf." I revealed.

The look that appeared on Sabrina's face said millions even Azzy was stunned. "Okay, Are you Fucking nuts or do you not realize that we can kill each other. It doesn't take much just a claw or bite in the right spot and that's all she wrote." She stated. Waving her muscled arm for emphasis thus preventing her from hearing me out. "Relax, Sabrina I already knew that I was thinking of a combo attack." I began.

"When it comes to tight quarters and a long drag out brawl you can't be beaten. Sayber and Launa did battle a long time ago where neither gained the upper hand. So it's a smart move leaving Launa to Sayber since they're still on equal ground." I stated. Sabrina was quick to ask what Azzy's role would be in this little scheme of mine. "She's our trump card in this plan since she won't be on the battlefield." I continued.

"Azzy's job will be to provide us with cover fire and monitor enemy movement. Make sure you keep a safe distance but, stay mobile so they can't locate you. Therefore those two have to defeat us first before trying to stop Azzy's barrage." I informed. While drawing my plan out on the ground thus giving everyone visual reference. Moving aside this way everyone could look at my handiwork then offer feedback.

"It's a good plan unfortunately Launa will be expecting this kind of attack. Wait, you're counting on her figuring that out and you've got something else planned." Azzy replied. Giving the raven a knowing smile silently telling her it's merely the first act. I wanted plenty of room to think, taking their collective experience into account. Taking what time we had left I fetched a few things then headed to the battlefield.

To be continued.
