#1 of The New Couple
As the Prince of Wels tries to keep peace in his principality, he tries to prevent damage between two warring houses. Until he decides to punish them in a unique way and how the houses react with such a punishment.
The New Couple
(The Prince)
It was just a normal day, sitting in my court. Ruling over my island, until my steward came into my court. Their I asked, "what is it, why do you disturb me." Though, I wasn't doing anything, my advisors usually come to me with some very pity items. So, has usual I just assumed is was a something I didn't need to deal with.
There my steward, a buffalo named Leon said while bowing, "please forgive me, my prince. The houses of Antelo and Kolvak are marching their city guards." The houses of Antelo and Kolvak, have been at each other's throats for about ten years now. Any mammal could tell, that they are marching to meet each other in the battle field. To be honest, I was surprised it didn't happen sooner.
Their I pulled off my spectacles, and answered, "order my troops to prepare to march. Meet them on the battle field, also prepare an ultimatum. Both houses are to stand down, both are to meet at my castle to face their punishment. If they do not comply, my troops will attack, and both houses will lose all titles. I am not going to allow barons to rebel attack each other."
As my steward lift, I started thinking what I can do. The simple fact is house Kolvak, has been loyal to my house for a century, the house as earned its place and thus oversaw the largest Barony. While house Antelo, was a growing power, as a successful merchant Hahn Burckno bought the small barony Antel from me, about 150 gold about 20 years' worth of taxes for the area. With his trading company and his wisdom, in just ten years, he was able to Triple the barony's income.
Because of these reasons, I wanted to keep both houses in their positions. Also add to the fact of the other Baronies history of hating my father for rejecting titles. So, what could I do, this fighting will only tear this principality apart?
At the Battle Field.
(Baron Burckno)
As my men were marching, I looked at my troops a mighty guard. I have been able to turn a small desolate barony into a powerful Barony in just a decade. From only a few hundred guard, to a force capable of fighting the powerful Baron Kolvak. He will now pay for blocking my company into his city, and working to kill my merchants.
Though it took longer to march than I hoped, we finally met their army, ready to slay them in combat. While marching up a hill, looking over the enemy. We had a perfect position, I knew we could win this battle. Yet I notice a small force way to the east of me and the enemy, I took out my telescope. I spotted their banners, the flag of the prince. He must have sent a small force to stop us.
I ordered my troops to halt and hold fire. While, my eldest son and me, head towards the prince's army. When we got to the Center of the battle field, we met with Baron Kolvak. After a few minutes, the prince's messenger came forward. When he reached us he said, "Greetings I am the Steward for the mighty prince of Wels. The Prince sends these commands, both armies will stand down, with no battle between House Kolvak and House Antelo. Baron Burckno and Boran Kolvak will meet the prince to be penalized. Failure to comply will mean, forfeiture of all titles and property. With any attack being met with defeat at the paws of our prince."
