First off I don't own any chars on Digimon series and other username that was included in the story, however I already have the permissionto use them also Albino and Alphonse is rightfully mine. I apologize first hand if there were spelling and grammar errors because it's my second. The name of every player or people who participate will be changed when they entered the game or arena. Also it is 50% more in furries. Anything else, please enjoy.

Chapter 25: Arena Patrol - Part 1

On the next day, Al was doing his routine daily life at the school in silent. Al took some notes on all the materials the teacher revised. During a short break period, he looked out in to the sky blankly feeling empty from Renamon's rejection. Vinnie called him but he didn't notice or listen. She walk toward him and called. "Hey, Al. Do you want to grab some drinks before the next period?"

Without looking at her, he replied. "Sure, why not." Vinnie was excited and walk out of the class, but Al didn't move a muscle. He stuck at the chair and remained looking out the window. Vinnie went back to the class after noticing that Al isn't following her. When she was about to approach him again, he stood up and start packing his bag and walk out not noticing that she was there.

Vinnie called him, but he ignored her. When she tapped his shoulder, he turned to her and replied. "Sorry, Vinnie, I've got to get to the class early." Al excuses himself and walked away to avoid any questions that can hurt his feelings. On his way to a different class, he met or preferably bumped into Toby and Lenny.

"Well, look what we have here. It's the geek. You know very well what will happened if bump into me again?" Toby smirked at Lenny after giving a slight threat to Al. Al start to walk passed them ignoring their presence. Toby grabbed Al's shoulder. "Hey, we are not done yet."

"Get off." Al said with a low angry tone.

"What?" Toby asked.

"I said." Al suddenly turned at Toby and launched a strong uppercut right at Toby's chin. "Get the fuck off." He continued after seeing Toby hit the floor quite hard, and then continue to walk to his class. Toby, Lenny and the hidden Vinnie were surprise to see his action.

At his next period, Al did the same thing like before, listening and taking note in silent then look out to the sky. Kari just happened to be the teacher at the period. She didn't notice about Al's condition at first until the period was over. She called Al in private about his next assignment. "Al, the Destinies would like to investigate the Battle Arena and only you, me, and Jake are available at this moment. Will you help me?"

"Sure, I will tell Jake when I see him." Al replied with a low voice as if he didn't have the spirit and that was the time Kari noticed something happened to him.

When Al left the class, she had the privacy she needed to communicate with Gatomon. "Gatomon, where are you?"

Gatomon peek from the ceiling. "I'm right here, Kari."

"I noticed something happened to Al. Do you know what happened to him?" Kari asked without looking at her.

"I do but I can't tell."

"What..., why?" Kari asked while looking at Gatomon.

"It's about private talk, and I've promised Renamon."

"Renamon, I can guess what happened to him." Kari sighs after knowing the cause of his behavior. "He is not the only person who got shot down by Renamon."

Gatomon blushed after she knew the secret. "What should we do?"

"We can't do anything except wait for him to recover."

At lunch period, Vinnie try to talk with Al again. "Al, is something a matter? You looked different today."

Al looked at Vinnie, "No, nothing is wrong." Al replied. He looked around to find Jake. Al relayed the message about the mission to him and told him to meet Kari at the Teacher Lounge after school.

When the school is over, Al and Jake waited at the teacher lounge entrance. Kari came out without carrying a large bag like last time. "Shall we go?" she asked while searching her car key. Al and Jake nodded and headed to Kari's red sedan.

There was an awkward silent event in the car until Jake broke the silent marathon to begin the conversation. "So Ms. Kari, do we also have to patrol on the arena as well? I thought the Glitches were only inside the game and Digital World, that was I informed after joining the team."

"Yes, but you only receive half of it because we want to minimize your patrol only in the game." Kari answered explaining the reason. "Right now, those who were supposed to patrol in the arena were unable to come because they have some things to do in their lives. So we are the only one that available this time."

"Kari, this is out of the topic but why you weren't with T.K.?" Al asked. "He is your husband, and why do you keep your family name?"

"We want to share the task equally and when we draw the straw, I'm stuck with Takato. But not to worry, T.K. sometimes visits me when he had the chance. About keeping my family name, I just want to keep the pride of the family name. My real name is Hikari I. Kamiya, you know. I just didn't add the "I" in my full name." Kari explained.

"Hikari Ishida Kamiya, Hikari Ishida, Hikari Kamiya." Jake mentioned Kari's full name and compared it. "I think I prefer Hikari Kamiya. The sound is much better than the other two." Kari only smiled a bit by the comment. "So if we are going to patrols on the arena, what are we suppose to look at the arena and how did it get there?"

Gatomon answered to that question from the D - Server. "We are looking for a certain anomalies or distortion inside the arena. It's hard to see directly because the distortion was invisible to my eye. However few of us can see it and Al was one of them. And how did it get there, was the easy part. It was you human carried it from the game to the arena."

"What...?" Jake asked in confusion.

"To make it simple, we player carried a small fragment of the virus into the arena. Once it was collected enough, it will form a distortion that will cause abnormalities." Al explained so Jake understood.

Al, Jake and Kari arrived at the shopping district. They headed straight to the game center. Once they were there, they played the arena immediately once there are vacant seat.

Inside the arena, Albino, ShadowWolf and Gatomon began to wandering around in group searching for any anomalies they could find. Fortunately, there are no anomalies so far. Gatomon sigh in relief after receiving no warnings from Al and her small scanner which she can hide it under her glove.

"We could relax now." Gatomon said informing the two. "There aren't any anomalies yet, so we need to keep on eye and keep the group chat open at all times." Al and ShadowWolf nodded.

Al saw something out of place from Gatomon. He noticed there's a necklace hanging around her neck. "Gatomon, what is that?"

Gatomon looked at Al. "What is what?" Al pointed at his neck telling her that there is something on her neck. Gatomon looked and smiled. "Oh... this is a special necklace that can block distortion waves from the Glitches. It was made to look like a necklace."

"Should we get one as well?" ShadowWolf asked.

"Unfortunately, these were created only to protect us Digimon from the Glitches because we are very fragile." Gatomon answered. Suddenly her ear twitches, telling her that Kari is communicating with her.

"Is there something wrong, Gatomon?" ShadowWolf asked.

"Um... Al, this might hurt you a bit." Gatomon answered lowering her eyes. Al looked at her in quite disturbing look. "It's about yesterday party." Al's heart suddenly dropped.

"Now that you mentioned it, where were you? The party was on until night." ShadowWolf asked to Al.

"Patamon told me everything. I'm truly happy that you love me but I'm with him now. Also about Renamon, she told me that she rejected your love. I'm truly sorry for you and I hope that you will find someone that really loves you deeply. So please, don't take it too deep or it will hurt you in the future." Gatomon said in full concerned.

Al's looked down avoiding eye contact with her and ShadowWolf. Feeling uneasy about the situation he is in right now, He starts walking away from them. "I will go wandering around some more. Meet me at the registration counter for a good team battle."

Al began to think what she said while walking around. 'She is right. I can't keep on sulking about that in my whole life. I got to move forward and maybe there is hope about finding a perfect match to be my girlfriend.' Al took a deep breath feeling that he's been cleanse somehow. 'Thank you, Gatomon, Kari.' Al looked around to see the registration counter, but his eyes were stuck on two distinc figures. A white Agumon like him and a red one like Guilmon, and both of them were lost. Al walked approach both of them. Both of them looked somehow timid or scared. "Can I help you two?"

The white Agumon and the red Guilmon looked at him. Al noticed that the white Agumon is a SnowAgumon with red eyes and wore similar armband like him except it was black, while the Guilmon had a jade green eyes and one of the marking on the stomach is green emerald. The SnowAgumon answered to the question. "Um... Yes. I... would like to know where to register the match?"

"You are new to this place?" Al asked. Both of them nodded. "It happens to me once. Look for a board screen where many players gathered. In fact we could find it together because I'm going there as well." Al invites both of them to come. After walking three steps, he looked at the two and they weren't moving at all as if they didn't trust him. "Are you coming?" yet they remain silent. "Right, how rude of me... Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Albino. I'm sorry for the late introduction. Shall we?"

Al finally got the two to follow him. The registration center was completely packed as usual that those who want to participate needs to take a line. Al saw Gatomon is on the line waiting for her turn to register. ShadowWolf saw Al and greeted him. "Hey, Al. How are you, feeling a little better?"

"Yeah, I'm good thank you." Al replied.

"So who are they?" ShadowWolf asked after looking the two who followed Al.

"Strangers who want to participate for the first time but didn't know how." Al answered.

"Helping the noob, this is the first time I see you do that." ShadowWolf commented. "We better get to Gatomon. Her turn is coming." ShadowWolf ran toward Gatomon. Al asked the two to follow him so they can registered much faster rather waiting in line.

Gatomon registered the Destinies as team DATS. The team consists of ShadowWolf, Lite and Albino. ShadowWolf asked the same question like Al asked before which gave him a chuckle from Al and Gatomon. The duo registered separately and left. Al looked at the board and nodded to see his team is on it. He looked at another random team and the name is Ultima, it consists of GreenGuilmonX and Zero.

While waiting for his team to be called, they review the strategies and skills they need to use against the upcoming opponent. Gatomon gave the necklace to Al and evolve herself into Angewomon. Al gave the necklace back and hid it while ShadowWolf were amazed by Angewomon's beauty. Al evolved himself into Greymon and ShadowWolf evolved into BlackGarurumon for the battle. Soon the announcement howled telling that his team has to go to arena 23 and they go.

The field of the arena is pure metal with electric wall. The opponent for them is a Seadramon and a MetalGrowlmon. "A champion and an ultimate form. I think we can handle them, right?" ShadowWolf cheered up.

"Don't get too cocky, didn't you remember about increasing the status?" Gatomon warned about status.

"Right, thanks for a let down." ShadowWolf thanked her sarcastically.

Al laughed a bit for ShadowWolf disappointment. He looked again at the opponent, somehow he met them from somewhere before. He looked closely at both of the opponents. The Seadramon had red eyes while MetalGrowlmon had jade green eyes. "Shadow, do you remember the noobs that you met a while ago?" Al asked after remembering them.

"Yeah, why did you asked?"

"Forget noob, they were the one we met a while ago."
