Hello, everyone! Here is the result an excercise in writing that I did this morning. I asked for users on Furry Amino to give me six random words for the first sentence in a scene. I selected the user Johnny Tikitavi's words to use for this scene. As this was just an excercise meant to increase creativity, it has not been edited yet and took a total of thirty minutes to draft. Please leave any constructivs criticsms you may have. Thank you!

The cheesy bread tasted slightly of salty regret. Usually food would bring him solace, but on a day like today, that was not the case. Stood up by yet another girl, I munched on the food with discontent. We had planned to meet up here at the restaurant, but hours later here I sit alone.

"We're closing soon. Would you like a to-go box?" the waiter asked. The lanky feline loomed over me for a moment, waiting on my response.

"I'll be done in just a minute," I answered. "Just give me a fe-" I was interrupted by a large bang outside on the street. Outside of the window now sported a radiant orange glow, a nice change from the unending darkness of the hours before.

"What on Earth was that?" a voice from the kitchen called. "Is the restaurant okay?"

The feline rushed over to the door while I remained seated, bolted to my chair by fear. He rushed back to the kitchen without a word, leaving me alone. A few seconds of eerie silence passed before the glass door flung open and a singed lynx walked through.

"Lance?" she asked, looking in my direction. My jaw dropped from shock as I came to my senses.

"Selena?" She took a seat and brushed off a small flame that had started on her shoulder pad. "It's so, uh, nice to finally meet you," I stumbled through my sentence. "I was starting to, uh, think you weren't gonna show."

"And I was starting to think you would be as confident as you said you were online. You haven't spoken a single sentence to me without stopping halfway through, and your mouth hasn't closed since I walked through that door," she teased. I could feel my face start to turn red underneath my fur.

"W-well at least I was on time," I retorted shyly.

"Alright short stuff, I'll give you that. I'm sorry I'm late; my work started to pile up."

"W-what kind of j-job do you have?" I asked.

"Well aren't you gonna buy a lady a drink first before interrogating her?" she chuckled.

"Th-the restaurant is getting ready to close, though," I explained, my head tucked between my shoulders.

She flipped her paw at me in a prissy manner and brought it to her fur to brush away some ash. "I don't think we'll be that much of a bother to them. Waiter?" she called.

The feline poked his head out from a stone column. He scurried to us, bumping into a small decorative shelf on his way. "Y-yes?"

"Does everyone around these parts have a stutter?" she whispered to herself and laughed. "Do you have any specials this evening?"

"I-I'm sorry, b-but we're closing up."

"Ah well. Too bad." She looked back to me and smirked, "How about we blow this joint?"

I stared at her blankly for a moment. "Uhhh... Sure? Just n-no explosives, please."

"Don't worry. I'll only use 'em if I have to."
