Well some people wanted a continuation on this story and to be honest I'm not really sure how far I wanna go with this since its evading from my other story series, but I'll make this continuation because everyone was saying they just wanted to see what happens next. Remember this is an M/M story and is not intended for those under the age of 18. Also, please do not copyright this work or any of its following works.

The Night Out

Part 2

The noise of Dawson's Chevy Malibu was all that sounded as the car whooshed around a street corner, on its way back to its owners dorm complex. Riley did not look at Dawson, for he knew he didn't want him to. So he turned his back on him, and cushioned himself between the seat and the window as he had done before. He kept thinking about how it all went down after the truth had come out that Dawson had been secretly making love to him from across the stall wall.

Riley did nothing but stare blankly into Dawson's eyes, not believing what he saw, as did Dawson. No one had interrupted them during their session, and Riley was wishing someone would now, just to break the tension in the air. After a moment of silence, and disbelief, Dawson finally turned his head, looking disgusted.

"We're leaving." Dawson uttered, and left the bathroom before Riley could utter something back.

Dawson turned another corner, and the car came to a stop. He had pulled up the dorm complex driveways.

Once again, silence took over the car, but more so this time, since the car engine wasn't guzzling anymore.

"Get up." Dawson declared after a few seconds.

Riley opened his eyes and slowly rose from his earlier position and looked at Dawson. He looked like he was about to punch someone.

"Dawson, I...." Riley tried to say something before Dawson took over, but his endeavors were in vain, as Dawson quickly reached over and grabbed Riley by his neck collar, pulling Riley's face forward. The sudden jerk caused Riley to yelp.

"Shut up." Dawson stated, in a very aggressive and threatening tone, not one with which Riley was accustomed to hearing from the usual Dawson. Nevertheless, Riley didn't make a sound and let Dawson continue.

"Don't ever say a fucking word about what happened tonight. You got that?" Dawson asked, even though there was only one right answer.

"Yes." Riley said, his voice almost becoming a whimper. His paws were cringing on the car seat. He was scared out of his mind, and on the verge of crying.

Dawson let go of Riley's collar swiftly and while in the process pushing Riley back a little. Dawson gave Riley one last look, and then opened the car door to get out. He then slammed it shut, leaving Riley all alone in the car.

Riley couldn't take it anymore. He put his hind feet up on the car seat to bury his face in his knee caps, as he broke down.

Riley couldn't believe how things could go so badly so fast. Tonight should never have happened. If I hadn't gone out with Dawson, if Dawson hadn't taken me, if I could have controlled himself, and most of all, if it hadn't been Dawson on the other side of that wall....things would not be like this.

After sitting upright in the fetal position for maybe a half hour or so, Riley realized crying about this wasn't going to solve anything. He knew he had to talk to Dawson, whether it was sooner, or later. Riley chose sooner.

As Riley shut the car door and made his way to the stairs leading up to Dawson and his dorms, he thought about how he was going to approach Dawson without getting killed in the process. He knew Dawson said never to speak about it again, but even as Dawson had held Riley by the collar, fire in his eyes, Riley felt something else inside of him. Something that was screaming the opposite of what Dawson had said orally.

It was the tiniest shred of light in the dark tunnel, but Riley figured those odds were the best he was going to get and took a right after getting to his dorm level, on his way to Dawson's door.

While standing in front of door no.68, Riley took a deep breath in, and then exhaled it. He just realized he hadn't come up with anything good to say. Of course, he thought this as he knocked.

But to Riley's luck, and surprise, no Dawson came running to the door to destroy him. Instead, the door opened slightly, as it was never completely closed to begin with, Riley learned.

Riley waited a few seconds for someone to come to the door, and when no one did, he slowly let himself in. He then closed the door behind him and turned around to view Dawson's dorm.

Everything was dark, but he could see the basic layout of the place. He knew all the dorms were the same anyway: one living area when you walk in, small kitchen in the back with an even smaller dining area, to the left is the hall, leading to a bathroom on the left side and a bedroom on the right, and going farther down the hall would bring you to a dead end laundry room.

Even though it was dark, Riley had been in Dawson's dorm before, and he could tell something was wrong. It looked as though one of the paintings Dawson had put up had been slapped off, and a lamp that had once sat on the side couch table was now sideways on the floor; other than that the place just looked messy. Dawson's just a messy person, Riley remembered.

As Riley tried hard to get through the crowded and scattered living room, he heard a distinct sound he seemed to hear only on bad nights. A night like this.

The sound was a whimper, and it grew louder and louder as Riley approached the bedroom. As he did he noticed the whimper change to crying, which changed to a moan, and so on.

The bedroom door was open, and Riley, again, slowly entered.

The bedroom seemed more trashed then the living room. Most of it was just clothes scattered on the floor, textbooks opened and closed everywhere; these little things were vaguely distracting Riley to what he really should have been looking at, which were the tears in the poster hung on the wall, and the scratch marks on the door.

The bunk bed was to Riley's left when he entered the room, and he didn't look at it when he first came in. It was not until he turned around did he notice what was on the end bottom bed that was closest to the door.

Dawson was sitting naked, criss cross, with his front to Riley. His tail was lying sulkily next to him, and Dawson seemed to being sniffling as his head was down.

The Dalmation suddenly shut down as he saw his Akita friend in such pain. He wanted to immediately reach down and hug him, try to make things better; but he knew he couldn't jump the handle like that. Not in the state Dawson was in.

So Riley smoothly got closer to Dawson, each step taking a glance at him to see if he ever looked up. He didn't.

Eventually Riley got next to Dawson, and decided to slowly sit criss cross next to him.

Riley took a moment to make sure this was okay with Dawson. Dawson did not change his position, or his mood.

Riley wasn't sure if it was the right thing to do or not, though he kind of acted without thinking anyway; Riley took his right paw to rub Dawson's back.

But as soon as Riley's finger touched Dawson, Dawson quickly reached over and threw himself on Riley.

It was in that moment of swiftness that Riley saw the tears slip off of Dawson's face as he had leaped to passionately hug Riley with all his might.

The force caused Riley to tip over and fall on the bed sheet, as the cover had been drawn back to where Dawson was originally sitting. This also caused Dawson to fall with him, though this was his intention from the beginning.

Dawson and Riley were now lying sideways, with Dawson holding Riley close to his naked body, his arms wrapped around Riley and his head lying on Riley's left shoulder. This in turn had Riley's head leaning against Dawson's left. Riley also put his arms around Dawson, just because it felt right to do so.

Riley was still in shock as Dawson begun to speak, still crying.

"I'm so sorry, Riley....I'm.....I'm so sorry..." Dawson said slowly, letting the tears run down his face.

Then it dawned on Riley. Dawson did not want to push him away. That thing he saw in Dawson when he was faking the outrage was regret, guilt, and most of all, sorrow. Something was causing him to do that; to reject Riley.

Riley let go of his wrap around Dawson and motioned Dawson to do the same, as well as take his head off of Riley's shoulders. They were now looking each other straight in the eye, still lying sideways on the bed. Riley took his right paw and wiped off Dawson's tears.

"I want you to tell me about it." Riley explained, giving Dawson a smile, as he had read the full meaning of what Dawson meant when he said "I'm sorry."

The rest of the night composed of Dawson telling Riley all about where he was from, how he grew up, and the reason why he pushed him away.

"Well, you know I was born in Dallas, Texas, and that my family is rich. My dad works as an engineer who specializes in building equipment for the army. I'm an only child, which my dad says is the only reason we're as rich as we are. Our family's religion is Catholic, and even though some things in the Bible differentiate from what I am, I don't think it overshadows the love and kindness I plan to give throughout life. So I kept my faith after I left for college."

Riley stopped him. They were both lying in the bed, sideways, with Dawson holding Riley as Riley's back was to him. They cuddled together as Dawson was reliving his past, and at some point Riley decided to take his clothes off as well. Now they were both underneath the covers, grasping their naked bodies in a passionate spooning.

"Hm?" Dawson asked.

"You haven't said anything about your mom." Riley said, secretly afraid he might be treading on unwanted territory.

Dawson sighed. "Heh, I was trying to see if I could ease my way through the story without bringing her up, but I guess I didn't do a very good job. Although, I really can't omit her from the story anyway."

"Why not?" Riley asked, not trying to sound mean.

Dawson sighed once again.

"My mom used to be a doctor at the local hospital. At some point, around my fourteenth birthday, Dallas was hit with a rare flu disease that could be spread easily. Everyone did their best to stay away from it, but, it's kind of hard to do that when you're treating patients who have it. My mom accidently acquired the disease from one of her patients. She put up a struggle, but, in the end, she wasn't able to fight off the disease...."

"I'm so sorry." Riley tried to say in his most sincere voice, which wasn't hard, because he was sincere.

"There was nothing we could do. It was evident. But just before my mom passed she asked my dad a favor. She said no matter what I do in life, she wants my dad to make sure I'm happy."

"That's so sweet of her." Riley muttered. He was so comfortable in Dawson's arms that he was getting sleepy.

"Yeah, the problem is my dad doesn't know what I want. He thinks I want girls, because I led him to believe that. I can't show my dad the actual me. It would crush him..."

Riley's eyes jumped at the phrase and he looked back at Dawson. Dawson's face indicated that he just got the full meaning of what he said, even though he had probably said it to himself five thousand times in his head.

"So, we need to find a way to convey a message to your dad, explaining the real you?"

"Ha. You make it sound so simple." Dawson smiled.

"Dawson, you're a good person. Your sexual orientation shouldn't be what defines you. I don't know what dad would completely disown his son just because of something like this."

"You must have a very accepting family. Lucky." Dawson smiled again. Warmer this time.

"You....could say that." Riley didn't want to tell Dawson that his dad doesn't know either. He didn't think it would be very encouraging.

Dawson chuckled.

"Heh, you seem to be in a considerably better mood." Riley said, once again talking to Dawson with his back turned.

"All thanks to you." Dawson said. "Can you stay with me tonight?"

"Even if I said no, you wouldn't let go of me." Riley muttered, smiling.

"Got that right." Dawson said, as he laid his head against Riley's shoulder again, closing his eyes.

This one was a bit shorter than I expected....oh well, it got the job done. I want your guys' opinion on this story. Should I continue it? Should I stop? I want to know! It's starting to grow on me a bit, so I might just continue it anyway, but it would be really cool if you guys would tell me what you think.
