First off I don't own any Char of the Digimon series or other names. However I do own Al and Soul. I apologize first hand if there are spelling and grammar errors in this chapter because English is my second. Finally it is out after some people were eager to see the new chapter. Anything else, please enjoy.

Chapter 24: Welcoming Party - Part 2.

Al and Jake were invited into Gennai's Japanese style home. The entrance door was similar to any other houses, but the only difference was what on the other side of the door. Most of the floors were wood but the entrance floor was stoned and to add it up, there is a lot of pair of shoes all lined up neatly at the side of either wall. Al and Jake were confused about it and Kari explained that it was Japan's customary for those who want to make the guest felt relax at others house.

Al asked in confusion. "How can we walk around the yard if we aren't wearing anything?"

Takato answered the question by showing a pair of slippers. "With these."

Gennai invite all of them to the guest room. Al turned his body around to see that Gennai is closing the door. He saw something flashes at the entrance gate. "What is that?"

"What was what?" Gennai asked and Al pointed at the flashes at the entrance gate which is resemblance to a TV. "Ah yes, that is a gate portal that connects from your world to this place."

Jake was accompanied by Kari and Takato while Al was accompanied by Gennai. Al was so amazed by the structure of the house. Most of the walls were actually a large sliding door made from wooden frame paper. They were guided to the first large room to his right and opened the door. Behind the door stood a large room with of two long tables at each side of the wall serving snacks and drinks for anyone who were invited in this party.

Al was aware that most of the senior Destinies were adult but what he didn't aware is that how many of them were invited. Al recognized Suzie, Yolei, and Rika; and the rest were new to him. 'Wow, this is so amazing. I never realize that the Destinies were these many,' said Al in amazement.

Impmon was drinking some soda when he saw Al was standing at the door. He announced their arrival. "Well, look who's here. Our guest star has finally arrived." All eyes were staring at one place and that was Al and Jake. The Digimons and their partners who knew both of them waved their hand or greet them. Al and Jake greet them back especially to the Digimons.

Al walked to Yolei while Jake was guided by Takato to any groups. Al greeted Yolei with a smile, "Hey there, Ms. Yolei, Hawkmon."

"Hey there, kiddo, been hanging with us during the hunt?" Yolei asked with glee.

"Yes, I'm doing it because I want my PC to be strong." Al answered.

"And I also heard that you always looking around and keep on reporting. Is that true?" Hawkmon asked.

"Yes, I also scout ahead seeing if there are any Glitches during our hunt. That is why I need your help so I could scout the higher level area until I can manage on my own." Al answered with a smile, and then looked at other Destinies in the room. "So, care to enlighten me about the names of every member?"

"Alright, you already know Suzie, Rika, and me. The one with light red hair boy is called Koushiro Izumi. We usually called him Izzy for short. You've met his partner Tentomon in his other form called Kabuterimon." Yolei pointed at Izzy. Izzy age is around 28; had a slight scrub beard and wore squared glasses. His hair was short light red and slightly disoriented. He wore plain red t-shirt and brown pants. Right now, he is talking with a male Chinese human around 30 with black and a few grey hairs, a bunny like Digimon with melon green fur and one horn sitting at the Chinese's shoulder, an insect Digimon with an appearance like a ladybug and a green worm like Digimon.

Hawkmon continue the introduction. "The person who is talking to Izzy is called Henry Wong. On his shoulder is called Terriermon, and the green worm is Wormmon. You also met them before in their evolutions." He pointed again at random direction. "Over there we have Takeru Ishida or TK for nickname, Patamon's partner. He is Kari's mate or husband if you called in human language." He pointed at a male human with blonde hair around the same age with Kari. 'Ishida... Where did I hear that before?' Al asked in his thought. "He is Matt's little brother." Hawkmon continued.

Al quickly realized by the musician's name. "Matt Ishida...? You mean Yamato Ishida, the Japanese celebrity who about to have a tour concert?"

"That's the one, kiddo." A human male voice answered his question. Al looked at the owner. There stood a male around 22 with disoriented red blood hair. He wore a long sleeve black flame style jacket. "I'm Davis, by the way. Davis Motomiya, pleasure to meet you."

"And I'm Davish's partner, Veemon." A Digimon appear at Davis's side and introduced himself. Veemon is a 2-foot tall humanoid lizard-like creature. He has mostly blue skin, with a white belly and mouth. Veemon's head is large and roughly spherical, with two conical fleshy appendages attached to the back, possibly acting as ears. A small horn pokes where his nose would be. He has large, 5-fingered hands with short white claws, as well as 3-toed feet with stout claws. The yellow V-shaped mark between his large red eyes is where the name 'Veemon' comes from. Veemon continued his introduction. "You've met me before as ExVeemon."

"Right, when I encountered the virus and you MetalGrowlmon killed the last two remains." Al remembered the other form that Veemon had. "Thank you for saving me in the nick of time back then. I don't know if I could survive against two MagnaAngemons when one is hard enough."

"No problem, we all have to work together to fight these Glitches. If only we can break the barrier much faster, we could help you in battle."

"But I'm quite surprise to see that you used the Glitches as your weapon." Another unfamiliar male voice greeted Al. Al looked at the owner of the voice and it was a human male around 19, Japanese, wearing black school uniform, almost bald.

"I say it was pretty cool, daddy-o." Another male voice coming from his back and saw a four legged Digimon. The body was like a yellow armadillo with three large claws on each front leg.

"These two are Cody Hida and his partner Armadillomon." Davis introduced Cody and Armadillomon to Al.

"It's pleasure to meet you two." Al slightly bowed to greet them.

"The pleasure is all ours, daddy-o." Armadillomon replied with a smile. "We heard from Mimi that you had a partner now. Why don't you share with us who your partner is, daddy-o."

"Who is Mimi?" Al asked.

"Did you see the girl wore fancy dresses for this small party?" Cody asked while pointing at a small group where Jake is talking right now. One of them is wearing a fancy dress and it does attract all people who were curious about who wore it. Her hair is reddish brown and long. "That is Mimi, Palmon's partner." Cody continued.

"Speaking of her, I don't see her anywhere. Where is she?" Al asked while taking out his Digivice.

"She is at the garden, rooting." Yolei replied.

"Rooting?" Al asked in confusion.

"She's a plant type Digimon, remember?" Davis explained.

"Right, basic biology, I completely ignored that part." Al commented which gave a slight chuckle from those who heard him. Al pointed the lens at spacious area. "Come on out, Soul."

"Soul?" asked the Destinies spontaneously while the Digimons were confused as well.

"That is right. Everyone I would like to introduce..." Al introduced his partner while materializing. "Soul, my Minomon."

Soul opened his eyes after materialized and looked at his surroundings. He is smiled happily to see the same familiar faces again. "Hello again to you guys." Soul greets them and then jumped at Al's arm.

"So you gave him a name." Veemon commented.

"But, why did you named him 'Soul'?" Hawkmon asked.

"Well, he kind of attached to me because of something and he is my partner. I wish to call him something special in case he is blending in with other Minomon. So I called him Soul because he is a part of me now." Al explained to them which gave him a nod from others.

"Now that you explained it, the name sounds perfect for him." Cody commented.

"It is a nice name." Another unfamiliar male voice commented Soul's name. Al looked at the owner and saw a man around 23 with black hair. He is wearing a white long sleeve t-shirt and black pants. "But we don't need a name as long as we were together, isn't that right Wormmon?"

A green caterpillar Digimon called Wormmon crawled to his side. "Yes I agree, Ken." He nodded at his opinion. "It's good to see you again, Minomon and Al." Al gave confuse looked at him. "We have met before in my different form called Stingmon."

Al nodded after remembering the Glitch incident. "Right your color is the same with Stingmon. I'm not very familiar about evolutions so sorry for being a stranger all the time."

The party was casual. The greetings were made with each other. Gennai teaches several things about Digital World and how to get there through their computers. Al asked about the virus or the Glitches that still remain in his PC to Gennai, also explain about a new champion form from Agumon.

Gennai explained all his questions one by one. "The Glitches inside your PC cannot be removed completely because for some reason that Glitches have a mind of its own. And for the new form called GeoGreymon, I could only guess that somehow you could manipulate the glitches and use it as a weapon."

Al was confused. "I don't understand about that part."

"Tell me, have you ever been contacted with the virus for the first time? If yes then where?"

"My first contact was at the Battle Arena at the arcade during the fight with Angewomon and Beelzebmon."

"Did you notice anything?" Gennai asked.

"When I used the Pepper Breath at the last minute, it wasn't a ball of fire but a long stream of fire like a flamethrower."

"Tell me what you felt when using it or in what condition that occur to you?"

"I felt quite normal back then except when I want to protect them. Somehow I have the strong courage build up inside me and told me to protect them even it kills me in an instant." Al explained.

"Then that is your key. With your heart, you can manipulate the Glitches inside you and you can do anything you want. However I must warn you, even the purest heart can be corrupted easily by emotions."

At first Al didn't know what he means and try to ignore the warning. He went back to the party to see that Jake attract quite a lot attention. Al remembered that he brought a camera so he decides to take pictures of each member with their partners. After taking pictures of every member, He decides to take pictures of the scenery. While taking some pictures, his attentions are mostly focused at Renamon.

Renamon noticed that Al was watching her recently. She looked at him only to see that Al was looking at something else avoiding eye contact. Al was quite embarrassed almost got caught by Renamon. So in order to avoid any more trouble, he took some picture at the garden. Al saw that Palmon, Biyomon, Calumon, Guilmon, and Soul are having fun at the garden. Al took the scenery where they were playing.

When he was about to took another shot, he felt a tapped at his shoulder. He turned and surprised to see Renamon was standing behind him tapping him.

"Is there something wrong, Al?" Renamon asked feeling uneasy about being watched.

"Well I... ah..." Al was quite shock on how to respond to her. "Nothing, it's nothing."

"Really..., then why are you kept staring at me?"

Al was stammered knowing that Renamon noticed his action. "I have a little confession to make. It's a little bit personal and I can't say it with all people around us."

Renamon was quite confused at first but she knew what he meant so she played along. "Where do you want us to talk at?"

"A toilet room will be nice." Al replied in embarrassment.

Renamon nodded and guide him to the toilet room which around the corner at the end of the corridor. Renamon opened the toilet room and dragged Al into it. "I think it's secluded for you. So what do you want to say about your confession?"

Al was embarrassed even more when he is alone with someone he crushed on. "I... When I first met you, your face was cold and scary, right?" Renamon nodded that comment she heard before. "Well at that night when you kissed me on the cheek, my point of view starting to get change. I..." Renamon forced him to continue. "I... I got a crush on you." Al said it with deep red blushing.

Renamon smiled when she was right, but unfortunately she already had an eye at someone. "I knew what you were going to say. You are not the only one who loves me. Many do but I turn them down, and sadly you are one of them." Renamon answered with a sad tone.

Al's heart was shattered when he was rejected then lowered his head avoiding eye-contact with her. "You already have someone in your heart?" Al asked in monotone voice try to suppress his sadness.

It's Renamon's turn to avoid eye-contact with him. "Yes, you could say that..." She replied with a blush.

"Was it Guilmon?" Al asked bluntly still in monotone voice.

Renamon was shock in surprise that his guess was right. "That was a good guess." She replied with her face redden like a tomato. "How did you guess?"

"At that night, when you eating some buns. You said that Guilmon like the taste and gobble up instantly. You knew about Guilmon's favorite food and how he will do. The question is did he ever tell you?" Renamon shook her head. "I see, so he hasn't. Well I hope that he noticed that you loved him very soon." Al gave her a forced smile. "Sorry for taken your time for my selfish need." Al opened the door and quickly got back to the party. Al called Soul and told him that he wanted to go back and he wouldn't want to leave him behind.

Soul was quite disappointed but seeing Al's face he accepted the offer and scanned back into the Digivice. Al headed out to the entrance door; put his shoes back on and headed to the TV screen at the gate. Al showed his Digivice and a portal was opened. Al stepped into the portal and it felt like he was sucked by a black hole. He closed his eyes so he won't feel dizzy. And by the time he opened his eyes, he saw a very familiar room. It was his room. 'I was back in my own room. Looks like what Gennai said really worked.' Al looked at the computer and saw a view of Gennai's entrance house. Three seconds later the portal was closed.

Al made Soul materialized and moved himself to the bed, even though he is not tired.

Soul jumped up to the bed only to see that Al's back was facing him. "Is there something wrong, Al?" He asked a little bit concerned.

Al tried to suppress his sadness again but he couldn't so he replied with a slight sobbed. "I've... been... rejected, little Minomon."
