The snowstorm roared in their ears as they raced, thrashing their feet into the white ground as hard and fast as they could, eager to be back home with their winnings. A look back at the city would reveal a devastated scene. Right where the gate entrance was both doors were ripped wide open by an incredible force, the mechanisms used to open and close them were forever ripped to pieces. New guard bodies lay around the entrance, bloodied and broken.

Inside the walls the crowd of civilians stared in a mixture of emotion, mainly fury, sadness, awe, and fear. The bank was in such a blaze the snowstorm was even powerless against it. The super heavy door that went to the safe was lodged in the wall on the opposite side of the room. Guards were in a circle around the lifeless president, all dead or critically injured. They were careful, though; not one innocent was hurt, and the vault was emptied five tons of gold.

The team pushed forward as hard and fast as they could, the gold bricks fastened tightly to each sled that they pulled along. North bound where the storm was surging as well, the group racing the weather in some friendly competition that made Blizzard grin at the thought. Contract completed, and soon to be home much sooner then expected.

It was a half a day into the run that they decided to rest, all breathing hard. They walked up to the mouth of a cave and without even bothering to check if it was already occupied, and they released their harnesses and pulled their helmets from their shoulders.

"Is this where we'll be staying for the night?" Crystal asked sitting down deep into the cave, her chest heaving hard from their long run. Blizzard only nodded and stared out into the storm as it continued to pummel the landscape with an endless barrage of white.

"I'm hungry," Vace muttered and laid his helm to his side.

"We all are, but we'll wait until we get back to our settlement limits before we eat anything." The Alpha snapped a little too sharp and the Gamma shrank back from his words. "Starving ourselves will make the feast when we get back all the more sweeter," he added quickly and shot a warm hearted look at the black wolf. Vace smiled and nodded happily, drawing his legs in close to his body.

"I don't mean to bring anyone down but what makes you think there will be a feast awaiting us when we return?" Bree asked stepping up to the blue husky.

Blizzard stared down at her with a blank face and then grinned mockingly. "Because when my mate finds that I have returned much earlier then expected, unharmed, with stories and enough gold to hold us all over for a very long time, it will more then likely orchestrate such an idea." The Beta nodded and then walked off to think to herself.

Blizzard watched her for only a moment and then turned around to address his Gamma. "Vace," he called, "How much further until we reach home?"

The lupine was in mid yawn when he was asked. Before he said anything he closed his eyes and began to concentrate. A few long seconds passed. Blizzard flicked his eyes around at the others about the cave. Crystal and Bree were huddled close to each other, and eyes closed as they tried to fall asleep. Seth was keeping himself entertained by creating three small snow vortexes in front of him, about two feet high each, and was clashing them against each other. Blizzard smiled while he watched but was then pulled from the show by Vace's deep voice.

"A day's run will bring us right up to the town limits, more or less, dependent on how fast we are," he answered coolly. Blizzard stepped up to the large lupine and sat down beside him.

"So what now, sir?" Vace asked tiredly, his eyes drooping to his Alpha.

The husky stared at the other side of the cave for a moment before answering. "Just sleep," he said.

"Sounds good..." The gamma responded lazily.

Blizzard looked to his side at the other and smiled. He was already asleep, eyes shut and mouth slightly open with a drip of saliva falling from his lip every so often. The blue husky reached over and pushed his maw shut with an audible click and then looked over to where the omega was still playing with the snow tornados. "Rest up, Seth. You'll need every last bit of strength you can muster tomorrow for a straight shot for home."
