Dreams
I wrote this a long time ago as part of a series. This is like a teaser chapter of the story, but the most important. These stories spawned from a dream I had; which I incorporated into this chapter. I decided since it had such an effect on me, that I would make it into Leon's backstory. If you would like to read others, or the precursor of this chapter, you can go here http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19125759/ . Hope you enjoy; Hope you don't mind any grammatical errors; this was written a long time ago and for fun
I ran through the forest as fast as my legs could carry me. I jumped over roots that had
made themselves exposed to the ground above and across a lake that ran through to give these
trees life. I had started to run out of breath after running for what seemed like an eternity. I had
stopped to catch my breath? bent over, I kept my focus to the ground and thought to myself?
"...I did it...I got myself killed by coming in here...but the townspeople, they will
follow me...They'll follow me, and leave my family alone."
I had that thought pass through my mind repeatedly as I caught my breath.
I then looked up to see how much farther I could go, but what I
saw was something I still, to this day, can't truly comprehend. In the middle of this
forest, was a clearing, but none like any I had ever seen or heard of before. The trees along the
rim of the clearing, were gigantic? the usual height of the trees I was running past was about 15ft,
but these ones, they were standing well over 100ft. Out of curiosity, I made my way into the
clearing. Once I stepped into it, I was amazed? the distance from the trees stepped out of to the
next row had to be just at 100ft, and the trees themselves were aligned from in front of me and to
my sides? like a natural wall of sorts. I looked behind me, expecting another line of tress, but
there were none. It was then that I realized? this was a giant lane of sorts, and I had this feeling
that I was at the start of it.
"Why is this here? What could have made this?" I thought to myself as I looked around
the area in awe, but then ground shook violently. I froze in place, my heart sank, and fear gripped
me.
"...What...was that?" I asked myself, but I didn't want to know the answer. Yet again, the ground shook, but much more violently this time, the trees shook in terror as
I did. I didn't know what was out there, but it was coming closer. I wanted to run, but my body
wouldn't let me get away? fear had completely paralyzed my body. The fear of death is what
made me shake like the ground, but the curiosity to find out what was coming, is what kept me
there. The shaking grew in intensity, and a loud booming sound was now present in a pattern. It
was walking. A shadow then began to devour the land as the booms hurt my ears and made me
close my eyes? the shaking of the quivering ground almost knocked me over.
"Make it stop!" I cried. As soon as I did, the shaking, the booming; it had all stopped. I slowly opened my eyes, then they grew wide in terror.
In front of my little body, were a pair of giant feet; they were massive compared to him, even at regular size they would have been big.
I saw as the giant toes in front of me wiggle, then pushed deeper into the ground.
I stared at them a bit, then continued upward. What I saw was, something that I didn't think could exist in this world. A
dragon. A giant, dragon. It's scales were as red as hellfire, with strange black markings across
the red. It's body was bulit like a strong male; the muscles all over his body were swollen, his pecs were full, and his abs reseblied an eight pack instead of six.
I tried to look up at its face, trying to see this monster when suddenly? it looked down at me. I saw it's long black horns that went
back and came up, but most of all? I saw it's bright green eyes, those eyes,
it knew I was there. It looked at me as if it was trying to understand me.
"...God help me." I whimpered out of my body. Not even a moment after saying that, the
dragon began to slowly lift up a giant foot. Dirt and all sorts of other derby feel from its sole, I
covered my head as some of it fell onto me. After the dirt stopped falling down, I looked up, my
eyes grew with horror, seeing its intention. It was going to step on me. My legs then finally
regained themselves and I started to run again. I had moved at least 14 feet away from where I was standing as the giant foot came down into the ground;
the giant toes and claws coming from them barely had me in their grasp. As the foot finally crashed down, the ground shake even more violently than before.
I was sent flying through the air, about 20 yards, then slide across the ground for about 5 more.
I laid there in pain, my right arm was scraped and cut from the slide. As soon as I
looked up, it looked at me and begin to lift its other foot.
"NO!" I roared. I then jumped up and began to run once again. It froze for a second. Did I
scare it? It then placed the giant foot down behind me, which answered my question quickly. As it did,
it slowly raised its other foot and slowly brought it down. In a sick way, the dragon
was playing with me, watching me run away from certain death. I ran in fear as it did, but that fear
soon turned to anger
"LEAVE ME ALONE!" As I roared that, my speed seemed to increase tenfold? I was
running faster than ever before. The dragon's stomping went from slow to about a regular walk
speed as it was before. I never looked back, I just kept running, trying to lose him, like I had
always done with bullies that had chased me in my youth. I then heard a strange, deep voice.
"You keep fighting, running, and living? thinking this is how life is supposed to be."
Where was this voice coming from? It sounded as if someone was right next to me, but there was no one.
I then realized the source. I slowly looked behind me as I ran, the dragon's lips were moving.
"...no...no." I thought it couldn't be possible. How could a being this gigantic talk so soft, and so clearly?
"While danger and evil follow right behind you."
"So this dragon is evil, that's what he must mean...right?" I looked back again. I had
started to lose the dragon. I looked forward once again, then screamed and tried to stop myself,
There was a sudden drop in this lane. I fell over as I finally stop, just shy of the cliff. I look down to see what was below;
The fall could have killed me, but the dragon could just see it as a small inconvenience. I looked around in a
panic on what I do next. I looked past the drop and saw a platform. It was far and at a lower level
but I didn't have any other choice; I had to jump.
"You think you're in the right, but all you do is fall and your dreams perish."
"He's taunting me now...He's wrong...He's wrong!" I took a breath and jump with all my
might to the platform. I stick the landing, and see another one in the distance. I then start running
to make the next jump down.
"You have control, you have wisdom, and you have power." I land on the new platform
and start running to the next one, but I then realized, there was nothing there. I screamed in terror
and try to stop myself.
"You lack courage. You lack courage because you don't believe." I fell off the
platform and started towards the earth below.
"Only if you believe? can we all be saved."
"...Believe in what?" I hit the ground, and felt pain throughout my entire body. I let out a
roar of pain as I lay on the ground. My legs were hurt; one was broken and the other was not too far from that.
As I laid on the ground, tears began to roll down my face from the pain that I was in. I looked up, then screamed in fear?
the dragon's feet were coming down. I quickly put my hand in front of my face, trying to protect myself, closing my eyes,
not wanting to see the end. A loud boom made the ground tremble, but it was silent afterwards. I slowly opened my eyes;
the Dragon had landed. I looked to my sides to see his feet on either side of me, trapping between them. I then looked up at the giant
dragon's face. It was still staring at me, not like it if he was trying to understand me like before, but; as if he knew me. I tried my best to
examine the beast, but I felt myself fading into unconsciousness from all the pain. The dragon
slowly crouched down to look at me, as if he was looking for something. I tried my best to stay
strong and alert, but the pain finally consumed me, and I blacked out.
