Wolf
#12 of Poems
I have been away from this site too long. Gods. I am not going to disappear again, and what better way to remind myself that I have things to do than writing a poem like this. Hope you enjoy. This is also an attempt at learning to write poems and lyrics for future songs.
I can't make the piano keys move
I can't make dulcet words sing
And the stories can't write themselves
So why am I scared of the truth
And I find myself second guessing
That my life would ever get well
Nightingale, please take my prayer
And leave me here to think
As the stars console me
Saying things like "Let go of yesterday"
"The more you drift the more you sink"
"One day you will be happy"
So the lone wolf howls to the moon
And the lone wolf in me howls to it too
And the moon left and the sun came to soon
"Let me shine," the sun said
"Let me guide you," said the wind
"Let me hunt with you," a wolf cried today
And together we went as the piano keys moved
With words sung lightly between bloody teeth
And the stories writ and left in snow
As this wolf and I made our way home
