A big thank you to Dasher Cheetah! I've decided to start on some short stories. These will be one chapter stories on whatever I'm thinking about at the time. As always they are adult because of gay butt sex. If you don't like that don't read it

Bane hummed to himself as he drove home. It had been a very long day at the office, one in many long days at the office as of late. Bane was a business analyst. His job was to analyze companies and offer insight into factors that could affect growth, decline, risks and the like. It was a job that paid well, allowing him to provide for himself and his foxy mate quite nicely. Unfortunately, the flip side was that it took him away from his foxy too often. However, today was special. It was their anniversary, having been together for five years as mates. They had agreed going into it that they would have a closed relationship. They each wanted a steady and reliable partner and Bane had put significant effort into being just that. Not that a shapely tail hadn't turned his eye at times, his heart and resolve had remained firm.

As he neared his home he noticed Neki's car was in the driveway. Neki was a mutual friend of himself and Seamus, who was his foxy mate. It wasn't unusual for the wolf to visit Seamus when Bane wasn't there. It wasn't anything that he had really given much thought to honestly. He liked that Seamus had a friend who would check up on him and the pair were notorious for their gaming sessions. Bane parked his car in the driveway and got out with a bottle of their favorite wine and a dozen red roses in paw. This would be a very special night, a night he felt they both needed. Bane fumbled with the keys to the door. As he unlocked it and walked in, he saw the TV was off and a strange scent reached his nose. Being a wolf himself, his sense of smell was second to none. It was something he was actually quite proud of.

Bane heard muffled noises as he put the wine and roses down on the kitchen counter. The noses grew louder and more audible as he neared the bedroom door. He could make out two distinct voices, Seamus and Neki with a few moans thrown in. He listened to the conversation they were having while obviously engaging in some form of strenuous exercise. "Neki, we really should get cleaned up and dressed. I love having you in my ass but Bane could be home any time!" Neki chuckled back, "That wolf never comes home before midnight, you know that. Besides, he doesn't know about us and doesn't need to know."

At hearing this, Bane gave a loud snarl as with one powerful kick, he shattered the door frame and blasted open the door! The sight before him filled him with rage. Seamus was on his back with his legs on Neki's shoulders, while Neki was balls deep in his mate. Bane snarled loudly as he stood in the doorway, taking in the sight before him. He shook with poorly contained fury and all Seamus and Neki could do was stay as still as possible and whimper. Neki slowly pulled out of Seamus, the fox scrambling to his knees as he cried out, "B...bane, its not what it looks like!"

Bane laughed sardonically, "Oh really? So my mate isn't cheating on me with who I thought was my best friend?!" Neki flattened his ears and lowered his head. There was nothing to say to make this better, it was bad. Tears welled up in Bane's eyes as he panted with emotions gone wild. Everything he had been working for was gone! His mate had broken his vow, his best friend had betrayed him. Bane stood up and growled louder than before, "How could you, on our anniversary of all times!" The pair whimpered at hearing this. The truth was, Seamus had forgotten that today was their anniversary.

Bane took a deep breath and eyed the still naked fox and wolf as he growled out, "How long?" Neither could look at the wolf. This was the worst-case scenario and Seamus thought quickly, if he lied, the wolf would be able to tell and become even more angry. But the truth might set him off anyway. He loved Bane, more than life itself. But he had needs, needs that were not being fulfilled as much as he needed them to be. The fox took a deep breath and swallowed to wet his parched throat before answering, "We have been getting together for the past three years." His ears went down in shame and his tail curled around himself as he waited on the expected outburst.

Bane stood in complete shock. He couldn't believe what he was hearing! His fists clenched in rage for a minute before he gave a heavy sigh and walked out of the room. Bane turned and walked into his office, taking the seat at his desk. He opened a drawer and pulled out a bottle of whiskey and a glass. Pouring himself a full glass he took a sip. The liquid burned its way down his throat to form a pool of heat in his belly. Normally he didn't drink all that much but this was a special occasion...

Seamus sat on the bed and cried openly. Neki sat beside him, unsure of what to say or do. They had talked about telling Bane and just getting this out in the open. He had no desire to replace Bane. He simply enjoyed the company of Seamus. The sex was amazing and that's all he was looking for. Now the bill for their fun had come due and it seemed the entire world around them had crumbled. Seamus looked up at Neki, his sight blurred by tears as he asked, "W...what do I do?" The wolf sighed and answered, "The truth is, I don't know. I had always figured we would eventually tell him, together. I knew he would be angry but I thought we could explain it to him. I never planned on him catching us! This was the worst way for him to find this out... I've known that wolf long enough to know, he's extremely angry and extremely hurt. You have got to go talk to him. He doesn't want to see me right now or even think about me. You're the only one who stands a snowball's chance in hell of fixing this, if it can be." Seamus nodded and walked out of the room.

Neki sighed deeply with regret. He cared very much for both Bane and Seamus and he thought back to the start of this whole mess. He and Seamus had been sitting on the sofa at Bane's house, watching TV and drinking. Bane had been away at some business meeting and the fox didn't want to spend the night alone. In fact, they had drank too much and woke up in the same bed both covered in each other's cum. It was easy to blame the drinks but if they were being honest, it was something they had both wanted. The drink only made it easy to forget that there would be a reckoning for giving into their urges. Seamus panicked and went to pieces, Neki spent the next day trying to calm the fox down. From there, it evolved into a regular thing. Neki had worked hard to keep this secret from Bane. In fact, he didn't think Bane would understand at all. For that matter, he wasn't sure the wolf would even try to understand. His pride would cause him to do something! Just what, was anyone's guess.

Neki decided that it was time to go and check on Seamus and Bane. He had played a part in this and if there was to be yelling, he deserved his fair share of it. He was aware that Bane would likely never talk to him again... assuming of course the wolf didn't shoot him, which wasn't off the table as of yet. Neki walked into Bane's office to see Seamus diving at the wolf and Bane with a gun to his head. The loud report of a shot, partially deafened both fox and wolf. Neki stood frozen in shock as Bane fell to the floor. Seamus had managed to reach Bane but the gun went off and the bullet still went into Bane's head. Seamus howled with sorrow as he looked up at Neki and ripped his shirt off. While Seamus held the shirt to the head wound, Neki raced over to Bane's desk and dialed 911. The question would be if help reached them in time.

Neki raced into the bedroom, grabbing jogging pants and shirts for himself and Seamus. He ran back into the study and handed Seamus the clothes. The fox rocked as he cradled Bane's body, sobbing at the top of his lungs. Neki shook Seamus back to reality and ordered, "You need to get dressed hun. Help will be here any moment and we don't need to be naked when they do." Seamus rocked back and forth mumbling, "I've killed him...I've killed him." Neki slapped the fox, bringing him back to reality. Seamus nodded as turned over the task of holding the now soaked shirt to the wound and got himself dressed. His fur was matted with a mixture of cum and blood. To say he was a mess would be an understatement.

Neki knelt beside Bane and held him as the paramedics burst through the front door. They quickly took over and told Neki and Seamus to leave this up to them. A police officer sat them down in the living room. Questions had to be answered, hard questions at that. Seamus sat with a lost look on his face. He broke into sobs as Bane was taken out on a stretcher. Neki sighed and began answering the police officer's questions. The officer wanted to determine if Bane's wound was self-inflicted or if he had been shot. After the officer was satisfied, he offered to give Seamus and Neki a ride to the hospital.

The ride was fairly silent. The officer was a fox and as such, he had scented the aroma of sex on the two. It wasn't hard to piece together what had occurred and the evidence agreed with what the two had told him. The officer dropped the pair off at the entrance, wishing them good luck. They quickly thanked him and rushed in to learn Bane had gone straight into surgery. Neki asked if there was any news on Bane's condition. The only real news was that he had made it alive to surgery. At the moment, nobody knew if he would recover or not. Nor did they know the extent of the damage to Bane's brain. Neki and Seamus took a seat beside each other. Neki tried to comfort Seamus but the fox only winced at his touches. Neki sighed softly and stood up, heading for the room's refreshment area.

Neki approached the coffee pot and poured himself a cup. He desperately needed its liquid contents. Truth was, he was exhausted from spending the day with Seamus. They had been together and had fucked almost all day. The wolf sighed softly to himself once more. How could Bane be so damn selfish? Trying to take his own life, over something this petty. They could have all worked through it... Neki walked back to his seat beside Seamus, who had fallen asleep. The wolf smiled a bit, Seamus needed some rest although the likelihood of actual rest was very slim.

Neki sipped his coffee as he thought of the situation he found himself in. The truth as he saw it, was he and he alone was responsible for this. After they woke up the first time. Seamus was distraught. It was obvious they had fucked several times as their fur was matted with fluids. It had taken hours to calm the fox down. In truth while Seamus didn't remember the night's events Neki did. He could have stopped himself but he didn't. The truth was that it was just so good, that it's all he craved. It had taken weeks to convince the fox that they should have their secret affair. Bane was gone a lot and it wasn't hard to use the fox's needs against him. A doctor walked into the waiting room breaking Neki out of his trance. He gently shook Seamus awake as the doctor walked over to them.

"I'm assuming you two are the patient's family?" Neki lowered his ears at being called family. Before this, Bane would have said that Neki was his brother. Now, he was his betrayer. Seamus nodded as he wiped his eyes. The doctor smiled gently but told them, "The good news is that he survived the surgery. The bad news is that he's in a coma. His brain is swelling but that is normal at this point. I don't know if or when he will wake up, that's up to him. We won't know if there are going to be permanent effects until he does but I expect there to be some. I will get him into a private room and let you two know when he's able to have visitors." Both nodded as the doctor walked off.

Seamus sighed and closed his eyes, tears flowing afresh down his muzzle. He was losing the love of his life and there was little he could do about it. His poor choices had led them to this situation. Choices that he desperately wished he could take back. He should have gone into the office sooner! Maybe he could have talked Bane out of it in the first place. When he had walked into the office, Bane already had the gun to his head. He did all he could to reach the wolf in time to try and stop him. He had failed his mate again and it was tearing him up inside. Neki looked around the waiting room. He could see fur's sniffing the air and then glancing over at them. The sight of blood stained fur was only part of what others were sensing. He sighed softly, everyone in the room knew their sin. The could smell it on them. He supposed it was fitting.

An hour later, Seamus and Neki walked slowly into Bane's room. He had been settled in and connected to life support. Neki tried to comfort Seamus but the fox flinched every time he tried to touch him. Neki sighed as he turned back to the hallway and returned to the surgery waiting room. He didn't blame Seamus for this reaction. In fact it was perfectly natural. Right now, he needed to be with Bane. The wolf sank into a chair in the corner and closed his eyes. Right now, some sleep would do him good. There would be a long road ahead of them and rest would benefit both himself and Seamus.

As Neki drifted off to sleep, he fell into a troubled dream where he was suddenly surrounded by nothing but blackness. He tried to call out but nothing could be heard, not even an echo. Suddenly, Bane was standing before him! Bane pointed a finger at the wolf and accused, "You killed me! You did this!" Neki sobbed as he tried to explain, "B...bane, this was never my intention. The situation got out of control. I wasn't trying to take your mate..." Bane laughed scornfully and said, "Then what were you trying to do? Hiding it for years tells me that you were only thinking of yourself and with your balls instead of your heart." Neki lowered his head, suddenly realizing this was a dream. Perhaps saying what needed to be said here, would help him in the waking world.

"Bane, all of this started as an accident. Seamus got drunk, I had been drinking too. I was horny and took advantage of the situation. I then manipulated him into an affair that lasted for years. All done behind your back! But you know what? Seamus and I are just friends!!! We are friends with benefits and we didn't tell you because you wouldn't understand! Then when you did find out, this is what you did to yourself!!! Did you once think of how it would affect Seamus, of how it would affect me!?! We could have worked this out Bane but no-o, you had to be your usual narrow minded self!" Bane lowered his ears slightly as he said, "Perhaps you're right. Maybe I did over react. But look at it from my perspective, Neki. I walk in ready to surprise my love with a special evening for our anniversary, only to find you already celebrating with him. I work hard and have sacrificed a lot to provide for myself and him. Do you think that I haven't been offered a raised tail or warm muzzle, from time to time? All I ever asked from him was loyalty and he couldn't even give me that. Then there's you. . . You were like a brother to me, now look what you've done. I can never trust you again Neki. After what you have taken from me, what do I really have to live for?" Neki shook his head sadly and said, "If that's how you see this then just go ahead and die! You have a lot to live for. You have a devastated fox by your side right now. You're the love of his life, his only love. If you think I am even capable of taking him from you, then you don't know him at all. But hun, he's a fox and has needs. Needs that you're not able to fill by yourself. There is an enormous difference between lust and love. And if you don't know that I love you both by now... then maybe you don't know me either!"

With that, Neki woke with a start. The room was empty except Seamus who was sitting across from a now slightly embarrassed Neki. Seamus was watching the wolf trying to decide what he thought of the one-sided conversation. Neki asked knowingly, "I was talking in my sleep again wasn't I?" Seamus nodded and Neki said, "You heard all of that, didn't you?" Seamus nodded again and Neki sighed before saying, "Hun, we need to talk about this. Now is as good of a time as any." Seamus looked at the comatose form of Bane before taking a deep breath and saying, "Neki, I don't blame you for this. I blame myself. I am responsible for Bane being in the condition he's in now. I own up to that." Neki disagreed and said, "You're wrong, we are both responsible. Seamus, I didn't want to come in between you and Bane. I never would have tried to take you from him. You two are mates! You have a bond that I've never had and probably never will have. However, I also have a bond with both of you. I value what we have...what we had. To me it wasn't just sex. It was something special. I didn't want you to tell Bane because I didn't think we could make him understand. I never intended for things to get this out of hand. Now he's laying in a coma and I'm left feeling so damn guilty that I can't stand it!"

Seamus sadly admitted, "I also valued what we had. I love Bane beyond words. Now, he's in this situation because of both of us. We should have sat him down months ago and put everything on the table. Instead we let him catch us in the act. It was bound to happen at some point. Because of both of us, he's in a coma and nobody knows when he will wake up. It could be in five minutes or fifteen years."

Seamus stood up and walked over to Neki, taking a seat beside him. He took the wolf's paw, touching him for the first-time since Bane had caught them. He told Neki, "I'm sorry I withdrew from you. You're my friend and you always will be. When Bane wakes up, we will make him understand! This may be beyond repair but we have to try!" Neki nodded and wiped tears from his eyes. For the first time since Bane had been brought in, he suddenly began to feel the full weight of the evenings events. It was a mixture of sorrow, guilt, joy, and humility."

Bane first heard a slow beeping noise and wanted to turn the alarm clock off. Next he heard the soft rhythmic whooshing of a respirator. Trying to open his eyes was hard because something was in the way, covering them.

Raising his head from the pillow helped and as he blinked, a too bright light greeted him and a figure in the midst of that bright light stepped forward, reaching out a paw to help him. Taking hold of the offered paw, Bane sat up and heard the beeping noise grow frantic, then become one continuous tone. He heard the terrified scream of Seamus begin and fade away into silence.

Bane looked around to see himself being pulled down a tunnel at a very fast speed until reaching it's end and being in an white foggy area, where he stopped. Looking around, he could see nothing except the tall, slender outline of a figure with wings! Bane rubbed his eyes and looked again. Things were indistinct, rather not completely solid as if unreal. "What the hell kind of place is this?", Bane asked and his question was greeted by a kind chuckle of amusement.

With his eyes focusing better, he watched as the figure stretched it's wings, for that was undeniably what they were. Folding them in, they ruffled to settle their marked feathers into place and closed up against the figure's back and disappeared! Now it could be seen that this was a cheetah, with rare markings and... he was naked!

The cheetah noticed where Bane was staring and a look of, 'Oh lord, I forgot!" crossed his face and suddenly he was clad in white robes. The cheetah asked, "Better? I forget you mortals have a thing about being covered, most of the time. Sit!" and a wave of a paw showed where a white couch had appeared.

Bane took a seat and rebooted his mind. Somethings weren't adding up to an answer he liked and the answer he was getting was, he was dead! Then that must mean that this cheetah was really an... Angel? Bane watched as the cat gracefully sat on the other end of the couch, in the middle of nowhere and waited patiently. He had done this countless times before and knew what his latest charge would do. They all pretty much asked the same things and grew frightened by the thought that they were now facing judgment. He was but if was not the cheetah who did that. No, he was here for a different reason.

Bane looked at the perfect form of the cheetah, sitting next to him. No scars, not a strand of fur out of place, just perfection! He expected a natural reaction that wasn't happening, tho he was very attracted to him. He gulped, trying to turn those thoughts aside as not likely to help him here. The mix of emotions showed on his face and in the set of his tail and ears and Bane knew it. With a little fear, he looked into the calm eyes of the cheetah and saw no disapproval or anger, just understanding, infinite patience and compassion.

Bane felt like a pup on his grandfather's knee again. Safe, warm and loved and all fear fled before it. He smiled and relaxed, then asked, "So, this is it? Where I am shown my life and I see what I have done with my life, then be sent to heaven or hell?" The feline laughed and said, "Oh my, no. That is a different place that that is done. This is a place in between, where we can talk before that ever happens. You are not dead yet but that could be your fate, depending on what happens here. Your answers will effect your future, so let's see if you can learn?"

'Learn?', Bane thought as he wondered yet again what was going on. He had been taught religion as a pup but had fallen away from those things as he grew to adulthood. Now, it seemed those lessons were more important than he thought! But what did he have to learn first? Suicide was a BIG no-no. He remembered that much. The confused look on his face made the cheetah laugh softly. 'Now, let's see if after leading the wolf to water, we can make him drink.', the cat thought and smiled as he began, "Why did you kill yourself?"

Bane thought back and felt the rage and sorrow he had felt before but was detached from it, like being sedated. He tried to yell, "It was their fault! They betrayed me!" but he couldn't speak. After choking on the words he said. "Why can't I talk... Wait, I can! What the f-, uhm, sorry."

The cat smiled understandingly and told him, "You cannot lie here, not even to yourself. Lies are the domain of the other side and have no place here. Now try again, why did you kill yourself?"

Bane thought again of what he had been going to say, then that he couldn't say it so it was a lie. He felt it but thought about what else had upset him. He said, "I was lied to by someone I should be able to trust. We promised each other, no one else was welcome in our relationship. I kept my promise and he did not." Bane gave a soft sob as he felt the pain again.

The cheetah put his paw on Bane's shoulder and said, "Yes, that is true but now ask yourself if it was right to put such a restriction on him without hearing what he had to say on it. When he tried to talk to you about this, you were never ready to listen to him and considered the matter closed. It takes two to make a relationship work, not one making the decisions."

Bane knew he had to listen to the cat, even if the words hurt or made him angry. As he thought that, the cheetah said, "There! That is what is holding you back... anger and thinking you have the monopoly on what's right. You are a wolf and so are dominant while Seamus is a fox and submissive to you. That is instinct talking, not reason and that is one of the problems all self aware creatures come up against."

The cheetah continued, "Reason needs to rule us now but instinct will always rear it's head and get in the way of things. Speaking of instinct, monogamy is not an instinct in most males, unlike most females. Love is not an instinct but an emotion and I tell you that Seamus has never varied from loving you. You equate sex with love and that isn't fair. Love is an emotion and sex is a instinctual, physical need. Seamus had a high need and desire for physical closeness that you weren't supplying him with, so he found an outlet for it with a close friend to both of you. Neki and Seamus were sharing pleasure and as a means on connecting with another soul but neither was looking to take away what you have. We can't help but share a little of our soul in sex, the two are too closely linked for it to be otherwise. That is why it is more tricky to deal with, for everyone. Love is an emotion that can be influenced by the mind but is not totally under rational control. That's why the heart and the mind are so often in conflict. Each wants what it wants, no is not accepted as a reason. You left Seamus alone too often, in your desire to accumulate wealth to take care of the both of you. You had no balance in your life and that is why this little scene came about."

Bane had to admit that was true. Instead of finding out what was going on, he got angry and when he was angry, something had to be damaged or hurt in return. Bane sighed with regret at his actions but mostly because now, he had no chance to make things right. He had shot himself instead of Neki and Seamus. If he had killed them, he would have killed himself last and sent three souls to hell instead of one. A tear dripped from his eye as Bane looked up and said, "For what it's worth, I'm sorry. I would apologize to Neki and Seamus but it is too late for that, I guess. I'm ready to take what's coming to me for what I did."

The cat laughed. He laughed at Bane but the wolf no longer had it in him to get angry. He hung his head and waited judgment. The cheetah laughed and stood, pulling Bane up into a strong hug as he told him, "You will not be getting off free, my dear wolf. If you work very hard, you will recover almost completely. I say almost because you will have a slight weakness in your left leg, to remind you always of your poor choices and to learn from them. Now... Give Seamus a kiss from me, when you see him!"

Bane stiffened up in surprise and the cheetah stepped back before hitting Bane in the chest with his fist! It hurt and Bane couldn't breath as the air was forced out of his lungs and he felt himself falling into blackness. A rushing sound was followed by someone yelling, "Clear!", then he felt someone hit him in the chest again but harder! Before passing out he heard a beeping noise start up and heard someone say, "Alight, he's back! Blood pressure coming up and he's breathing..."

Next thing Bane was aware of was the smell of hospitals and the scents of his lover and his best friend. They were holding his paws in theirs and he heard them talking to him, "Please come back to me! Don't do that again because I don't think I can go thru this again! Come back Bane! I will leave you and Seamus alone, if only you will come back to him."

******************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

Sitting up, he wondered why he was in a hospital bed briefly, then remembered! He had been going to shoot himself! Feeling his head and his body, he could find nothing hurting, in fact he felt fine! He saw Seamus and Neki, sitting together with their arms around each other. Bane growled loudly and began to get up and confront the pair but was stopped by a bright light.

He groaned as he tried and failed to sit up. He had full feeling in his body, but was extremely stiff and sore. He reached up and touched his head, only to find a bandage wrapped around it. He looked to his left and saw Seamus sound asleep in a chair. Beside him was Neki, who was watching the newly awake wolf. Neki stood up and walked over to the bed, "how are you feeling Bane?" Bane whimpered as the memories of what he walked in on flooded back to him. Without waiting for Bane to answer Neki continued, "Before I wake Seamus up we need to get something straight. Yes what he and I did was wrong. We should have talked to you, but we didn't think you would understand. We were afraid you would over react and apparently we weren't wrong. However, what you did is just plain selfish. Seamus hasn't left your side. You've been our for four weeks! Not once has he went home or done anything but talk to you. So you damn well better get your head out of your own ass and talk to him!"

Bane chuckled, "your just as annoying as I dreamed you were." Neki blinked, "what do you mean dreamed?" Bane groaned as he scooted himself up in the bed. "While I was out you came to me. We talked about all of this and you explained what happened." Neki stood completely shocked, "Bane that.... that wasn't a dream. I had the same dream." Bane chuckled, "then I suppose our talk is done. Seamus yipped with joy as he pounced onto the bed and wrapped around Bane. The wolf chuckled as he held his foxy. Seamus sobbed into Bane's check as Bane rubbed his back. "B...Bane what I did was horrible. If you never want to see me again I'll understand. B...but I love you and I always have." Bane kissed the fox's head as he held him. "Its alright, Neki has explained everything and I think I understand better now."

Seamus looked up confused, "wait...he did when?" Bane chuckled, "it's a long story hun. Needless to say I'm sorry for...over reacting to all of this. I was just so...distraught. I didn't see that I had anything else to live for. In my view Neki had taken you from me, and you are all I live for. I didn't understand that you had needs I wasn't fully satisfying. You should have said something hun. We needed to have talked about it. In the end I would have agreed to your arrangement with Neki. The truth is if your going to play outside of our relationship I would rather you do it with somebody I can trust." Seamus nodded as he held Bane.

Neki chuckled as he walked out of the room. Things wouldn't really be alright for some time. There was a long road ahead of all of them. However, Bane was awake and alive. That was a good first start. Time would tell what happened, however he was pleased that he hadn't lost his best friends. If one thing was clear, it was that they would all have an interesting future.
