It was the warm summers wind which gave an air of something new coming to into the life of a young husky. Diz was a young husky breed with a black and white coat with a shine that made a few of his other classmates swoon. A very popular one to be around and loved by his friends.

However during his first day of being a senior at Dale Park school, he was about to meet someone he had forgotten years ago. Diz and his friends were sitting inside the common room, all talking about something completely random. His friend Viki, a young female wolf with oak brown fur sat beside him and his friend Robert, a young black panther, on the other side. All deep in conversation until the teacher, Mr Farwell, a golden lion stood at the entrance of the room.

"Good Morning to you all..." He smiled, glancing around at the fresh new faces of the seniors. "I have a few announcements, the canteen will be open all day and we have a new student joining you." He stepped to the side to reveal a white wolf by the side of him. He was a shy thing, with gentle blue eyes. His ears flattened against his face as he glanced around with a nervous look. "This is Charlie; he will be staying with us for quite a while. Make him feel welcome and thank you for listening." Mr Farewell patted the young wolf on the shoulder and removed himself from the common room.

Charlie stood, frozen to his spot, clutching his bag as he looked for an empty chair. A paw flew into the air and waved franticly for attention.

"Over here Charlie!" Called Rob, being a very kind person to others, always made an effort to make people welcome. "There's a seat next to me, come join us."

At first Charlie was slightly reluctant to move, let alone go sit down yet he finally took a breath and sat with the group.

"Hey Charlie! It's nice to meet you." Viki smiled, her tail wagging from side to side. "I'm Viki, that's Rob, the guy you're sitting next to and this is Diz."

Diz gave a warm smile and held out his paw. "Welcome to Dale Park." Charlie took his paw in the others and shook it his eyes glancing into Diz's. Diz also glanced at Charlie's and for a short moment felt a tinge of familiarity. Once their paws had parted the siren for tutor groups sprang into action.

Viki and Rob went to their tutor groups while Diz stayed with Charlie in the common room.

"Do you need help in finding your tutor room?" He asked, looking Charlie up and down. The white wolf fiddled with his bag and nodded. "Where are you assigned?"

"Class 1B..." He spoke softly, handing over a piece of paper with all his lessons on.

"You're in all of my lessons; I'll help you around school if you like." He smiled, his tail wagging happily from side to side. Charlie smiled up at him and nodded, getting to his feet.

After the first lessons had passed the group met at a bench outside the school for break, Diz and Charlie was first at the wooden seating area where they began on their lunch. Every so often Diz kept glancing over, his mind stuck upon something.

"Hey guys." Smiled Viki; the third to arrive. She slung her backpack to the floor and gave a sigh of relief. "Well there go two lessons out the way... Just another three more until the day is over." She whimpered pathetically. "How has your days been?" She smiled widely at the two.

"Good, long, but good."

Rob appeared finally and sat himself on the bench.

"How are you getting along Charlie?" He huffed, digging away into his bag for his lunch.

"Good thank you. Diz has shown me most of the school." He smiled sweetly.

"Oh has he now?" Rob grinned playfully, yet the smirk disappeared when Diz and Viki shot him a glare. Charlie giggled and took a bite from a sandwich.

"What are you doing after school Charlie?" Diz asked, his ear twitching. Charlie scratched beneath his chin for a moment and then replied.

"Nothing, I don't think why?"

"I was wondering if..." The husky scratched the back of his neck. "You wanna come round my house, you know, to play games or something?"

The white wolf blinked for a moment and then smiled. "Sure."

Rob gave another grin yet disappeared again from a swift elbow in the ribs from Viki.

Once the final school bell had rung, the group parted for home while Charlie and Diz began to head for their destination. As they walked along the pavement, a gentle breeze blew across their path. Charlie shivered, clutching his coat around him. Diz looked down at him, due to being a few centimetres taller, and smiled.

"It won't be long now, my house is around here." He placed a paw on the wolf's shoulder and smiled. The wolf blushed softly and smiled up at him. He turned and stood at the edge of the road. Charlie stood beside him. A small car drove by and Charlie placed his foot out. Darryl, for some reason, thought someone had called his name out and looked around. Yet when he turned back Charlie had begun to walk into the road.

"Wuffie wait!" He cried. Charlie suddenly stopped in his place and turned around. A car passed by him, the breeze blowing his fur.

"H...how did you know that..."

Diz ran into the road and pulled him onto the pavement.

"Then it is you!" Diz smiled. "It's you Wuffie... from long ago!" He pulled him into his arms tightly, nuzzling the soft white fur from on the top of the wolf's head. Charlie stood for a moment, wide eyed and confused until he pulled back and looked into the Husky's face.

"Wait... eight years ago... Is it you Diz?"

The husky smiled.

"When you left back to your home country I...I didn't know what to do. I thought I would never see you again and now..." He smiled, hugging him warmly. "I have my best friend back." Charlie blushed softly, hugging him back.

"You look good." He smiled warmly, blushing against the Husky's fur.

"So do you." Diz replied, looking at him closely, his smiled never leaving his maw. "You won't believe how happy I am to see you again..."
