Part 14 - Swimming Class Starts

"Alright Razor, first, let's see how much you really fear water." Silver started.

"If you can do the exercises I'm going to give you, well ... then you'll be just fine."

I was shaking and just stared at Silver as he put his paw on my shoulder. He then took a few steps back and let him fall back in the water. I kept staring as he was floating in the water ... he kinda looked relaxed.

"Razor ... fall back into the water ... and overcome your fear." Silver said.

"I don't think I can." I said, still shaking.

"Come on Razor, don't be such a puss." Silver said angrily.

I was shocked when he said that, I never thought he would say something like that to me. Gathering my courage, I dropped myself on my back and thought I'd sink ... which didn't happen at all.

"Huh? I'm ... floating?" I thought.

"There you go Razor. See? Told you you can do it." Silver said smiling.

"However, this is just the start."

"Yea, you'll have to trust us now, for you'll have to learn the swimming basics." Anna said.

"Swimming ... basics?" I asked.

"Yea, like everything has basics, so does swimming." she replied.

"For example, the swimming moves."

"I see ..." I thought.

"Well ... I'm counting on you guys to help me. But I suppose you already know that huh?" I said.

"Of course we do." Silver said looking at me from above.

I just stared at him as he was watching me, and wondered why he was staring at me. Not knowing he was grinning and probably plotting something dastardly, I just looked at him.

"So ... Razor ... time to start?" He asked.

"Um ... yea, I guess." I replied.

As soon as I had said that, he pushed me into the water forcing me to hold my breath. However, he pushed me quite hard and it hurt on my chest and couldn't keep my breath at all. After a few seconds, he let go and pulled me up. I was gasping and shivering again.

"Come on Razor, you going to start shivering everytime you go under water?" Silver asked.

"You can't learn how to swim if you keep shivering like this."

"I ... I ... I'm sorry Silver. It's ... just I ..." I stuttered looking down.

Silver shook his head a few times and started thinking.

"Well ... there's nothing exactly you can do about that." he said.

"So don't you worry about it too much."

"Let's just try that again."

With that he put his hands on my arms and waited 'till I had some air. After that he told me to hold my breath for as long as I could and he would pull me up if I couldn't hold it anymore. And so I did.

After about three minutes I started struggling and he pulled me out of the water. Gasping for air again, but this time ... I wasn't trembling.

"There, that's already much better." Silver said with a wink.

"Huh? How so? I didn't do much at all." I replied.

"Well, take a look at you, the first time, you were trembling so much when you came back up. But now you're just gasping for air and not even shaking a bit." He explained.

"I ... see." I said eyes wide open.

"So in fact, you're trying to make me get rid of my fear first ... right?"

"Pretty much, you can't swim if you're too scared to even go underwater." he said.

"So ... let's do this again once you've got some air in you again."

"Got it. I'll do whatever it takes." I said looking down.

I was tired of being scared of water, I wanted to know what it's like to swim like everyone else that's not scared of water at all. I wanted that too, enjoy myself in water, and not fear it. A few minutes passed since we've been doing the 'hold your breath' exercise, and I believe I was doing pretty well, cause I wasn't as scared anymore as before. After a while more ... I was gasping cause I was out of breath.

"Can we ... take ... a short break?" I asked gasping for breath.

"Hm, sure ... I don't see why not." Silver replied.

I closed my eyes while still gasping, I wasn't used to holding my breath so much in such a short period. About 5 minutes passed and I was ready to give it another go.

"Teach, I'm ready when you are." I said confidently.

"Alright, then ... hold your breath I guess." He replied.

I held my breath again for as long as I could, looking around in the water. I was staring when I noticed what it was I was seeing. I was looking right at Silver's swimming trunks ... or to be precise the exact location of what is there. I closed my eyes and turned my head seeing Anna's head in the water and looking right at me. I was surprised at her being so close to me I couldn't hold my breath anymore and I had to get out of the water. Silver let go again and I rose from the water ... gasping again.

"Anna! What the hell! You scared the living daylights out of me!" I yelled at her.

She did nothing but laugh real hard at that remark. I looked at her like I was planning to push her underwater and take revenge. But I wouldn't. I couldn't do that to one of my best friends.

I turned around to look at Silver and noticed him laughing real hard as well. I looked at him with the same dull eyes I was looking at Anna with.

"You told her to look at me in the water, didn't you Silver?" I asked him rather annoyed.

"Hahaha, well ... kinda. It's better than having you look at my ... crotch." he responded.

"I didn't look at it intentionally!" I yelled back.

Anna, Elize and Silver all laughed at that in unison and I was left standing there rather embarassed.

"Well, at least you admit you looked there." Anna said with a wink.

"Hey! What's that supposed to mean?!" I yelled back.

"Oh! Nothing." she said, still smiling.

I grumbled as I didn't exactly wanted to find out what Anna was thinking of. It probably was something bad, something I most likely not want to know. When they finally stopped laughing we moved on to the next basic swimming move.

I was surprised, everything they taught me, I pretty much absorbed it in my mind like a sponge. And before we knew it, it was almost time to go home as time had passed so fast. I was happy, happy that my fear for water was lessening at a rapid rate. As everyone was about to get ready and get out of the water, I noticed Silver make an annoyed face with his eyes closed. I was wondering why he got annoyed and what made him annoyed. My question was soon answered as one of the girls from my class rose from the water.

"Whoa!" I yelled as she rose not too far from me.

"You startled me!"

"Hahaha, sorry scaredy cat, didn't mean to." she replied.

That hurt like a knife stabbing me through the heart, I didn't like being called scared, but I was from water ... and I no longer could deny it. I just looked down and after hearing a silent growl I looked up and noticed Silver looking mad at her.

"Um ... Silver, you ok?" I asked him.

"Yea ... I'm fine." He replied still looking annoyed.

"Selene, if you even dare to do that one more time, I'll be seeing you in detention, and it won't be fun." He said angrily.

I looked at her when she had a scared look which soon disappeared and turned into a smile, I believed she wouldn't want less. Her, alone with the greatest teach ever? That sounded like heaven to me. How could that be bad? I wondered, but I guess ... none of us truly had seen Silver mad. So maybe ... he could be pretty mean if he gets mad. At that thought I shivered a little, I couldn't really imagine Silver mad.

"Um ... yea yea, sorry teach, won't do it again." she replied with a smile.

She dove underwater again and Silver looked at me and was about to say something when his face suddenly had 'pissed' written all over it. And I soon found out why. Selene had dived underwater again not to dive and swim, but to dive and get a good look at Silver. Well ... girls can be a little troublesome now and then I guess. She then dove up right in front of Silver again, with a big smile on her face.

"Hey, you were right Elly! It is a big one!" she yelled laughing.

I noticed Elly looking kinda scared though. And I was about to witness why she was scared as I saw Silver really mad at Selene, teeth showing and he was really annoyed.

Silver now glaring at her, because she was taking it as if he was joking, raised his hands and clutched them into fists, then slammed them on the water real hard that the water where he slammed his fists actually formed a big wave and pushed Selene all the way to the other side of the swimming pool.

"Selene, do not take me lightly. I may be a fun and kind guy when I'm in a good mood, but don't take it granted!" he yelled at her.

"Oh, and another thing ..." he started as he turned to face me

"I'll see you in detention class tomorrow Selene."

"That was ... cool!" I yelled wide eyed.

"Do that again!"

"Sorry Razor, no can do. I was just ... really annoyed on her." he replied to that.

"Anyway, as I wanted to say ... you've been progressing amazingly, at this rate, you'll be able to swim in just a few days."

"That's why I've decided that ... we're going swimming every day after school. One hour, not longer. But it should be enough to get you to the part where you can swim on your own and enjoy the water." he smiled.

I smiled back at that, as I was tired of being scared, I was willing to do anything.

"Got it." I replied.

"Um ... are you gonna go soft on that girl?"

"Hell no ... I'll make her work big time!" Silver said angrily with a big grin on his face.

"She'll regret having done that and will think twice before trying it again!"

After he said that I burst into a laugh and hugged him tight. All he did was smile and return the hug. Anna and Elize who were getting ready noticed this and just watched smiling. I was happy ... happy to have found someone like Silver. I wouldn't want to miss him for a million years. He ... is who I care for most. After getting ready and dressed up again, we left the swimming pool, Silver taking me home, giving my mom a kiss and leaving again to go to his house. I stopped him before he did leave and looked sad.

"Hey what's wrong Razor?" he asked sad.

"You're leaving, that's what's wrong." I replied.

"I had hoped you'd stay a little longer."

"Heh, I see, but ... I can't stay here forever, I got my home to take care of too." he answered.

"I bet it's all dusty by now."

I laughed at that, gave him a big hug and gave him my cellphone number before he departed. We looked at eachother a little longer and hugged once more before waving goodbye and seeing him get in his car and drive off. Not much longer did it take before I fell asleep in bed. And apparently ... I was sleeping happily with a big smile on my face and didn't fear water any longer. Happy and satisfied is what I would call it.
