#6 of Portals CYOA

I was hoping to make this chapter longer, but the only way i saw to do that would've taken a buncha choices away, and I really don't want to do that with this story.

Ask more about the temple and it's history, what all the things in it are for. Ask if there is anyone else here besides him and you. Acquire new clothes, and a room.

I nod at Sha-Dar-Ruhk and ask "what are all the things in the temple for?" "The library were we entered is filled with the knowledge the Arcanians could fit in it, and each corridor has a large amount of bedrooms, which housed those who stayed here. If, when entering from the library, you were to turn left you would find at the end of the hallway the forge room. There is the forge itself, a station for crafting and reparing things like the Arcane generators. There is also a small sepulcher with ltos of runes, which would be used for the heavier-duty infusments of Arcane Energy, more major transformations, and opening larger more stable portals, though they'd still need someone gifted with the ability to open portals in the first place to do so, and then would only be able to open portals that they had access to anyway."

" If you were to go down the right-most path, and were to get the rubble out of the way, you'd find the shrine were they worshipped, the medical wing, which is self-explanatory, and a classroom were they tought the more advanced uses of Arcane energy, mostly portals and some forms of transformations. If you have problems with figuring out how to differentiate where your portals go, like if the worlds are too similiar, you may find something worth reading in there. otherwise, that section doesn't have much we'd be interested in, considering neither of us worship the Arcanian gods or spirits, and any medicines they'd have would either be specially made for Arcanians, or would have gone bad by now."

"And finally, if you were to go down the central path, which you did, you'd find a dining and cooking area on the left-hand side, and an old and, sadly, dilapidated set of baths, pools, and saunas. If we could find where the pipes were broken, or how to turn them back on, cleaning them and getting them into useable shape wouldn't be particularly hard, though it would likely be time consuming. And then, at the end of that hall you would come out here, to the Grand Balcony. The monks spent most of their time meditating out here."

"surrounding the temple is the jungle, which used to be, to use a term you'd be familiar with, plantations and orchards. They have, however, been severely overgrown since the fall of the Arcanians. That or they were very bad farmers." He looks upwards for a second and makes a humming noise then nods to himself and looks back at me "And that's it, really. If there are upper floors, the route to them hasn't been found."

I nod "Thank you, Shar-Dar-Ruhk. I think i'll try to figure out how ot open my portals, and if I can't i'll see if I can't move some of those rocks out of the way." After saying this I go and sit on one of the benches here on the balcony, a little away from Sha-Dar-Ruhk. I sit cross legged and take deep breaths, hold them and then breath out. Sorta like how I do when I try to meditate. I focus on just my arcane energy, trying to feel for the parts of me that let me open portals.

Hours later, not quite at the point of utter exhaustion, my arcane energy finally hits something. It feels... dry and hot, but also like it's dark and gloomy, and silent? I can't really describe it all that well, but I think this is a portal to somewhere. already ready and waiting to be used. Now, should I go and figure out what all of that stuff means about the world this portal would open to is like, or just go ahead and open the portal and hope for the best? If I do decide to go gung ho to a world I've never even been to should I go full-gung and do it right now, or should I rest and eat and stuff first?
