This is another story that centers around Andrew the Husky, however it takes place a bit later than the last story I submitted that centers around him. This one is almost a bit more lighthearted.

Boarding Pass

By: Bruno Schafer

"What do you mean we can't get on the freakin' ship!" Andrew glared at the ticket master who stared at him with pure indifference. The husky's tail went rigged, his hackles began to raise, and he had to prevent himself from baring his teeth, the last thing he wanted was security being called on him for such an act of aggression.

"I'm sorry sir, but like I said, you need a boarding pass to get on the ship." The ticket master voice didn't change from that same monotone voice. "Those are just the rules, and I just follow them."

"I was told all that we refugees need to get off this planet was a health screening, which we've already had done!" Andrew shouted as he pulled his sleeve back to reveal a section of fur that had been pulled out during the check. "Believe me, neither of us want me to have to go through that all over again."

"Do you have the health pass that was signed by the physician who examined you?"

Andrew growled quietly at this. The doctor hadn't mentioned anything about any "health pass" much less given him one. 'You just had to listen to Otto, now all of that hair and blood that, probably fake, doctor took is, no doubt, going to sell to the Igota so they can track you.' He cast a glare back to the Alsatian who was trying to avoid making direct eye contact with him.

"Listen, the doctor..."

"If you're not going to present your boarding pass, I'm going to have to ask you to please step to the side so that the next person in line can present there pass and get their ticket," The ticket master stretched his neck as he looked behind the husky, "you and your party." He motioned with his paw to the people behind them to come forward.

The husky gave a half growl and half a sigh before stepping to the side, along with the four other members of his group. It was then that he noticed the missing member of the group, his sister,Mischa. "Has anyone of you seen Mischa, she was just with us?"

Andrew wanted to chuckle at Otto's reaction to this, as the Alsatian seemed to go into a panic as he desperately looked around in every direction that Andrew thought was possible. The other dog's eyes seemed to bug out of his skull as he desperately looked back and forth amongst the crowd. If it wasn't for the fact that Andrew had a similar level of concern, he would have laughed, the usually rigid guard of the group now reduced to a panicked pup.

"Lionel," Andrew called the other Alsatian in the group, "I need you to go look for her, quickly."

Before Lionel could offer a response, Andrew felt a tap on his shoulder. The husky turned around to see his sister, a grin plastered onto her face, holding a small card in her paws. "I told you to hold on for a second." She handed him the card, "It's the health pass."

Andrew took the card with a curt nod and walked back over to the ticket master, who was just in the process of giving another group their tickets. Once the other group had left, he slammed the pass down on the counter. "I have retrieved the health pass for me and my group, now will you give us the tickets?"

The ticket master took the card, inserted it into a small slit on the desk in front of him, and within a couple of seconds it emerged with 6 tickets. "Enjoy your trip." His voice was still that same emotionless, and almost robotic, tone it had been previously.

"Thank you." Andrew gave a nod towards the ticket master as he turned towards the group and began distributing the tickets amongst them.
