Hadyn awoke to a draft that night, the door was open, surprised he got up quickly to shut the door Serafina needed to stay warm, only to realize he was alone.
Worried Hadyn hurried in and awoke Vernon and told him she was gone. Vernon quickly got up "Hadyn we have to find her fast, Straining herself at this stage in her pregnancy could cause an early labor.
"Vernon do you want me to call Mr Grimms, doesnt he need to know."
" No Hadyn, there is no need to alarm him,Gah. Hadyn i knew there was somthing wrong, i could see she was upset. I just didnt know what it was."
"Dont worry Vernon well find her"
Quickly getting dressed they both went out and got their bikes ready. "vernon i know this town and alot of the places that most pokemon will go when alone, but you know her better. Ill go check my usual places and you go check anywhere you think she might have gone."
"good idea kiddo"
Hadyn got on his bike and headed out, the first place he checked was the pokecenter, no luck there.
Hadyn searched for her looking all around town he check the pokepark, and the pokemart. Hadyn checked everywhere. upset that he had not been able to find her he headed home to tell Vernon. on his way home Hadyn rode past the Daycare center and noticed that there was smoke coming out of the chimney. surprised as he knew that the attendants were out of town Hadyn rode to the center.
There she was Hadyn had found her, Serafina was sitting in the center looking at some sort of books. Hadyn rushed in to see if she was ok. Serafina seeing Hadyn come in turned to look at him and smiled. curious Hadyn went to look at the books she was reading only to realize it was pictures .
Hadyn looked at the pictures and realized what was wrong, in each of the pictures was a family of pokemon that had at one time or another been at the center, an entire family not just one or two of them but familys. " oh Serafina im sorry, i never though of how your situation would make you feel, only knowing your cubs for a few months to have them taken from you and given to the highest bidder."
Hadyn sat down with her and pulled her into his arms, "Serafina i make you a promise, as you are giving me the greatest gift you ever could, your giving me one of your cubs. Serafina i promise to never make it forget you, i will teach it who you are and let you see your baby as often as i can. I know thats what you want to know your children. i promise to let you be a mom to them for as long as you can." crying softley Hadyn gave her a slight squeze giving her a hug to make her feel better. "Serafina is that ok with you, its all i can do, if i dont get the cub Vernon would sell it to somone else later anyway, at least this way you get to see it and know its yours."
Joyously Serafina gave him a lick to the cheek letting him know that this was very much what she wanted, showing her happiness she curled up against him and gave him another lick to his neck.
"oh ive got to get you back, cmon lets go." Hadyn got up and then turned around to help her up grabbing her by the shoulders and slighly pulling.
Serafina yipped very loudly and almost as if in pain, Hadyn helped her to sit back down and then noticed a pool of liquid on the floor. Realizing what was happening he got up quickly and grabbed some of the blankets out of the centers closet and made her a quick bed. " Serafina i have to go get Vernon i dont know what to do ill be right back."
Hadyn rushed out the centers doors and headed to the main street in town screaming for Vernon. about a block away from the center he ran into Vernon, literally Hadyn knocked them both off their bikes, "Hadyn did you find her where is she at??"
"shes at the daycare center Vernon and her water broke shes going into labor, Vernon what do you need me to do"
:" here Hadyn take this card and use the phone at the pokecenter as its nearby and tell Mr Grimms to come to the center that his cub is on the way, if he asks why there just make somthing up but dont tell him we lost her."
"ok vernon"
Hadyn rushed down the street on his bike and called Mr Grimms "hello butler is Mr Grimms there"
"Master Grimms is currently asleep may i ask if this is an emergancy"
"this is Hadyn he know who i am tell him his cub is on the way"
" Ah yes he wished to be woken when the time came , hold on for a moment Hadyn"
"Hello Hadyn this is Grimms, so its time ill be right over to your house in a bit"
" wait mr Grimms not my house go to the daycare center"
"The Daycare why there, there hasnt been any problems has there"
Hadyn thinking fast came up with a story "Vernon decided the tool shed was not clean enough for her and so he moved her, Grimms can you meet me there"
"of course"
"ill be right over"
Hadyn was standing outside wating when Mr Grimms showed up "Hurry hurry right this way, Vernon says there have been no problems yet and is allowing her to contiue naturally"
"lead the way Hadyn"
Hadyn Led Mr Grimms in where Vernon told them both to wait "Serafina is doing fine its just that a whole bunch of people at this moment may cause her to worry i want you both to wait out here and ill sit with her till they are born and then Mr Grimms you can choose whichever cub you think is the best."
~~About 2 hours later~~
:" Hadyn, Mr Grimms you can both come back now"
Hadyn quickly jumped up and ran into the nusury of the center, with Mr Grimms coming up behind him at his own pace.
Hadyn got into the room and was shocked, Seraphina had had three cubs not two, She had a male and two females, the male looked much larger and was moving about, the two females were smaller and moving but seemed to have no energy, Mr Grimms came into the room and looked. "Well" Mr Grimms Huffed "I am most certainly not taking either of the females, everyone know that most runts dont survive and die. Vernon i thank you for your business as you already know which cub i choose i am going to return to my bed, Goodnight" and with that Mr Grimms left.
Crushed Hadyn looked at Serafina and then turned to Vernon " Vernon what he said is it true? Are they going to die? Does this mean i wont get a cub?"
Unable to lie and knowing it would be easier to tell him the truth rather then crush him later Vernon was honest "Yes Hadyn its true, they will probably die, and you will be able to get a cub another time"
Crushed Hadyn ran out
