Story Summary: As the first predator paediatrician in the entire anthropomorphic world, S. Aureus has successfully managed to prove to the judgmental and distrustful prey population that he is completely harmless to their infants and sick children. Unfortunately, the mysterious and gruesome deaths of several children in the paediatric ward has resulted in a worldwide distrust to all canine species that are working in the hospital, including the famous wolf pediatrician who was fired from his work due to the severe backlash. A few months later, after the news of another mass murder in another hospital had spread worldwide, S. Aureus had decided that enough is enough, as he began to help the authorities in solving the complicated case before the murderer strikes again...

Chapter 1: The Paediatrician

The loud ringing sound that emanated from the stereo speakers of a space grey iPhone 7 plus had permeated throughout the entire room, arousing the sleeping white wolf from his peaceful slumber as his right hand-paw slowly went towards the annoying phone and turned the alarm off. After a few minutes of sleeping, the wolf then decided to wake up as he slowly opened his eyes, revealing two glowing cerulean blue irises with black dilated pupils, which then immediately shrank into vertical cat-like slits due to the bright morning sunlight that came from the overly large windows of his newly built modern looking mansion.

"Greetings, world..." The wolf said to himself in a groggy tone as he shifted into a sitting position on his bed. He then slowly removed the warm blanket that covered his completely nude physique, revealing an average looking furred body that is neither muscular and fit, nor is he obese and unhealthy that was common for a man of his age. Meanwhile, his canine sheath and the other reproductive areas that defined him as a man were a bit smaller than average for a normal male wolf of his rank and status, taking the phrase 'Compensating for something' quite literally due to his high Beta rank as a wolf, and being filthy rich due to his profession as the first successful predator paediatrician with a Ph. D in the entire anthropomorphic world.

He then got off his bed, and then fixed it in a meticulous manner that was befitting of a post-operative bed in the hospital, replacing all bedsheets and pillowcases with new ones as he had done every single day due to his fear of microbes that may cause his demise. Afterwards, he grabbed the iPhone from the bedside cabinet and then dialed his favorite Omega wolf as he went towards the bathroom to take a bath.

"Hello, Lord Beta. How may I serve you?" An overly tired, yet friendly male voice was heard by the white wolf, making him smile as he recalled his last rutting session with the gray wolf three weeks ago. It was a very pleasurable night for the both of them, but this resulted to a very sore and painful morning for the high ranking S. Aureus.

"Greetings, Luke." S. Aureus replied as he placed the iPhone on a nearby ceramic shelf. "How are you today? It seems that you are currently busy right now as evidenced by the hushed background noises that are emanating from my phone."

"Yes, Lord Beta. I am currently sending Lord Alpha's teenage pups to Oxford, thereby resulting in my late arrival to your abode if you wanted me to drive you to your workplace." The white wolf immediately frowned upon hearing those words, his mind inwardly cursing his alpha for stealing his favorite omega.

"Very well." S. Aureus replied in a husky tone as he turned on the shower. A murr then escaped from his muzzle as the overly hot water came in contact with his thick white fur, as well as the pink skin underneath. "It seems that I must summon our trusty young, lithe, and delectable Delta wolf as your temporary replacement, then. He may have considered himself as straight as a newly forged iron rod, but even an iron rod can be bent with the right... circumstances."

"Lord Beta, please control yourself! The innocent pups can hear your depraved words inside the car." The worried voice of his favorite omega made the white wolf chuckle in amusement. "Anyway, I would like to remind you that Lord Delta is on a business trip to the United States with Lord Gamma, which means that he won't be available to get you to your workplace."

"Tch, Fine. It seems that I need to summon my underaged canid, then." The white wolf replied dryly as he lathered himself with antibacterial soap, making sure that the pink skin underneath his fur, his sensitive ears, and the inside of his sheath would get the necessary cleansing. "By the way, those pups are no longer innocent, Luke... they are currently at the genital phase based on Sigmund Freud's psychosexual theory. Heck, they may had already rutted with those snobbish red furred queer bitches in that overrated university."

Teenage laughter echoed within the bathroom, while S. Aureus smirked in amusement as he imagined his favorite Omega wolf blushing heavily at the driver's seat. As the laughter continued, the white wolf then rinsed the soap from his body with water, and then applied the shampoo and its respective conditioner for his fur.

Eventually, the laughter died down, as Luke regained his compsure before replying back to his Beta. "Lord Beta, please stop... you're embarrassing me."

"Oh, fine. You may now be dismissed, Luke." S. Aureus said in his gentle yet authoritative Beta tone that he only used for his favorite Omega wolf. "However, you must arrive at the hospital entrance at exactly twelve o' clock Ante Meridiem, for I will be waiting for your arrival there to drive me back home."

"Uh, Lord Beta, what's an Ante Meridiem?" The white wolf who was rinsing the shampoo from his fur raised an eyebrow at the idiotic question, before he facepawed himself in realization as to who he was having a conversation with.

"Oh... I apologize for the inconvenience, Luke. Anyway, the Ante Meridien is what you call the A.M. in layman's terms." S. Aureus replied back as he shook himself dry, and then removed the remaining moisture from his fur using a clean white cotton towel. He then wrapped the towel across his waist, and then took his moist iPhone from the ceramic shelf as he went towards the bathroom sink to brush his teeth.

"Ohhhh.... alright. Thank you for the wonderful information, Lord Beta. I'll meet you soon at midnight." The friendly, and exuberant voice of Luke made the white wolf smile in amusement, his ears relishing the voice of his favorite Omega.

"Very well, Luke." S. Aureus replied back as he placed his iPhone on top of the marble bathroom counter, completely ignoring the background noises that emanated from the speakers for a few seconds before the call ended.

The rest of the wolf's daily routine were done in a quick, yet systematic manner that was the norm for almost all professional Furs in the United Kingdom. Finally, the wolf was finished, now ready and prepared for his hospital duties as he stood in front of his favorite antique glossy black Aston Martin DB5, and a newly delivered space grey Aston Martin DB9.

"Hn, you'll be driving... the DB9 for this day, Sparky." S. Aureus said in a fatherly tone as he gave the vehicle's crystal key fob to the fully naked, tall, skinny, nineteen year old, orange furred maned wolf who smiled in glee as he took the item from the white wolf's outstretched hand-paw.

"Wow, thanks a lot, Lord Beta Sir. I'll promise that she'll stay as good as new until the end of time." Sparky replied as he pressed a black button on the car's crystal key fob, which unlocked the doors automatically.

"Very well, Sparky... I hope that you will hold on to your promise." S. Aureus said with a smile on his muzzle, as the maned wolf grinned at him in response before walking briskly towards the right side of the car. He then opened the car's door, and then gestured for the Beta Wolf to enter the vehicle.

"Oh my... well, thank you, Sparky." S. Aureus said in a greatly pleased tone as he went inside the vehicle, making the taller male smile upon hearing his adoptive parent's words. "I am so glad that chivalry is not yet dead in this current era."

"Nah, don't mention it, Lord Beta Sir. I'm just giving the proper respect to my adoptive parent." Sparky replied in his usual playful manner as he closed the door in a gentle manner. He then went towards the driver's side of the new expensive, British made grand tourer with an excited and proud smile on his muzzle, as this is his first time to handle a car that wields a powerful V12 engine underneath its bonnet.

'Hehe, those snobbish teen Furs at the university will be green with envy once they see this wild South American canid mount this bad girl.' These were some of the countless thoughts in Sparky's mind as he slowly entered the vehicle with a smirk on his muzzle. Once he was seated, he then closed the door, making sure to lock it to prevent any accidents during the trip. He also adjusted the comfortable seat in order for it to accommodate his tall height and slightly longer than average limbs.

Afterwards, the maned wolf then placed his left furry foot-paw in the brake pedal, pressed gently, and then inserted the crystal key fob in an elegant metal slot located at the center of the dashboard. Immediately, the expensive car roared to life, making both Furs smile in delight as their sensitive ears appreciated the legendary sound of a newly built 6.0L V12 engine.

"So, where are we going, Lord Beta Sir?" Sparky asked, as the white wolf who was leaning back against the expensive black leather seat turned towards his direction. "You just told me to prepare the two cars and then wait for your arrival."

"Oh... well, I apologize for the inconvenience, Sparky. It seems that the signs of old age has began to manifest within my mind." S. Aureus said in an embarrassed tone, as the maned wolf chuckled in response. "Anyway, I want you to send me to my workplace as fast as possible, since it is located at exactly thirty kilometres away from my house, and I had only thirty minutes left before I was considered late by the higher-ups in the hospital."

"Ahh, I see..." Sparky replied in a giddy tone, as a feral grin slowly began to form on his muzzle which made the white wolf gulp in fear. "Well, there's no need to worry, Lord Beta Sir. After all, I gained the Sigma rank in this pack for a reason."

Before S. Aureus could say another word, Sparky immediately pushed the drive button and then floored the accelerator pedal with his right foot-paw. Instantly, like the awakening of a titanic beast, the powerful V12 engine suddenly roared with power, as the British made grand tourer quickly accelerated from the already opened garage, tearing through the extensive cobblestone driveway like a knife through butter, before slowing down a bit as it approached the straight, well maintained paved asphalt road that led towards the lovely city of London.

"Good morning, nurses." S. Aureus said towards the four busy ewes at the nurse's station, his deep baritone voice startling the women as they turned towards the wolf's direction. "How are our patients doing today... I just heard from the other docs that the febrile patient from room 3095B has just been discharged."

"Oh, good morning, Staph Aureus." One of the three white ewes replied with a smile, making the wolf frown in response due to his less than desirable nickname that reminded him of a certain skin bacterium. "Almost all of our patients are currently stable before your arrival, and course, you are correct about the discharged febrile patient at room 3095B. However, the newly admitted patient at room 3085 had activity intolerance related to imbalance of oxygen supply, as well as ineffective tissue perfusion as evidenced by pallor and diminished peripheral pulses."

"Mmhm, thank you for your input, Mrs. Rowaldo. So... based on the given information, I'll bet a hundred pounds that our patient has Thalassemia." S. Aureus mused to himself as the other ewes rolled their horizontally slit eyes upon hearing his words. "I don't know if it is alpha, beta, or minor Thalassemia, but I am sure that my diagnosis will be correct again."

"That's what we also think, Staph. But even with the clinical eye and that predator brain of yours, you can't diagnose a patient without checking her chart first." The ewe at his right said as she handled the wolf the metallic clipboard that held a thin stack of papers. "By the way, you're the one assigned to her, so I would suggest that..."

"Heh, you're right, Mrs. Benito. It seems that my fame as the first predator paediatrician has gotten way over my head." S. Aureus said in a sheepish tone as he opened the patient's medical chart. He then skimmed the files as he used his photographic memory that helped him in getting his Ph. D.

"Hmph, yes indeed, you spoiled pup." An old black wooled ewe replied back in a grumpy tone as she wrote her nurses notes on the chart in an F-DAR layout. "You're just like all those other doctors when you had gotten famous... always arrogant and thinking they're much better than us nurses."

"Oh, come on, Mrs. Famadico. Don't be that nurse who generalizes all doctors based on a few observations." S. Aureus replied in a playful tone as he swiftly wrote his medical notes on the physician's order sheet before giving it back to a smiling Mrs. Benito.

"Bah, a few observations my ass... in my thirty eight years of experience in this hospital, I haven't seen a nice doctor in my entire life except for you when you're still an inexperienced intern pup in our eyes." Mrs. Famadico said in her grandmotherly tone as she closed the medical chart. "But... even the sudden appearance of a predator paediatrician in the paedia ward hasn't changed my so called generalized opinions about the doctors, pup."

"Nah, don't listen to the old bat, wolfie. She just hated all docs due to her inability to become one." An equally old white wooled ewe said with a sly smirk while Mrs. Famadico glared daggers at her direction. "Anyway, you should go check those charts now. Some of the patients' most recent vital signs and lab results are still above or below the normal range for a Fur of their age, while the others who are no longer showing any signs and symptoms of illness are completely ready for discharge."

"Fine, fine..." S. Aureus replied back as he glanced at the tall white wooden bookshelf that was filled to the brim with labeled metal clipboards instead of books. "I'll just have a brief visit with the computer first, since yesterday was a really unexpected storm that would've set a new record for the most toxic hospital duty in history."

"I agree with you on this one, wolfie. Yesterday really takes the cake." Ms. Buenaflor said with a smile on her white colored muzzle as she opened another medical chart and wrote on the Nurse's notes. "However, don't expect that today's duty will be less toxic than yesterday's, as the patients who had caused the storm are still inside their rooms."

"Very well, Mrs. Buenaflor... although I would still check the computer to confirm my thoughts." The white wolf said in response as he sat in front the computer and moved the mouse gently across the black rubber pad, awakening the computer from its sleep state as it began to display the necessary information on the old yellowish CRT monitor.

"Oh my..." S. Aureus muttered to himself with a frown upon seeing that eighty seven of the one hundred rooms in the paediatric section are occupied by the patients themselves and their accompanying family members. "It seems that you are right, Mrs. Buenaflor... today's duty will be a very, very toxic one."

And it is very toxic, indeed. The white wolf had to go through his fourty five patients that were assigned to his care, his predator mind working at its full capacity as he plowed through hundreds of papers that composed the medical charts of his patients - the physician's order sheet, the physical assessments that involves visiting all of his patients, and so much more. This was worsened by the fact that he is only a mortal Fur despite his elevated status, as he made some mistakes in a few of the patients' medical records that were, thankfully, noticed by the equally tired nurses who worked as a team.

It also didn't help that a minority of the newly admitted prey patients' family members and relatives were still completely distrustful towards the attending wolf paediatrician, as they kept asking him absurd and illogical questions that annoyed him to no end. The white wolf didn't blame them though, as he knew that centuries of living under the barbaric predator-prey relationship would make even the most open-minded prey Fur become fearful of all nearby carnivores who can easily kill and eat him without a second thought.

Fortunately, many of the patients in his care are now considered as clinically healthy and ready to go, as he simply wrote in his physician order sheet that the patient is able to go home the next day, a list of the medications that the patient must take at home, and that the patient has a follow up checkup with him at a selected day.

It also helped that the rest of his patients and their accompanying family members were more receptive to his care, as they accepted the white wolf just like any other hospital doctor... although the sharp canine teeth and black claws may have scared most toddler patients.

Eventually, at eleven fifty-six post meridiem, the overly tired wolf had completely finished his tasks for today, as he gently closed his newly bought space gray, fifteen inch Macbook pro and placed it inside his pitch black expensive briefcase. He then stood up and left the on-call room, the night shift staff nurses greeting him goodbye as he left the pediatric area of the hospital.

As S. Aureus calmly walked down the stairs that led to the ground floor of the hospital, his iPhone suddenly vibrated in his pocket. He then fished it from his pocket, smiling upon seeing the name of the caller - his favorite Omega wolf. Immediately, he gently pressed the green call button on his screen and swiped it towards the right with his furred thumb, meaning that he had accepted the call.

"Greetings, Luke." S. Aureus said in a friendly tone as he placed the phone close to his sensitive pointed ears. "I presume that you had arrived at the hospital, then."

"Yes, Lord Beta." The grey wolf replied. "I am currently situated at the physician's parking lot, waiting for your further instructions as to where am I supposed to meet you."

"Oh, I see..." S. Aureus said as he approached the ancient looking lobby of the prestigious hospital, admiring the expensive crystal chandeliers that were situated on the magnificent, mural filled ceiling as they filled the entire chamber with a vibrant golden-white colour. "Very well, I will be waiting for your arrival at the main entrance, Luke."

"Alright, Lord Beta... I'll be arriving there shortly." Luke replied back before ending the call, leaving the white wolf who returned his iPhone back in his pocket before walking towards the closed glass doors of the main entrance.

He then greeted the Doberman Pinscher who is guarding the exit door, the black dog returning the favour as he opened the glass door with a smile on his muzzle. Once outside, S. Aureus sighed in relief upon seeing a space grey Aston Martin DB9, and a fully naked grey furred wolf who is standing casually at the right side of the expensive vehicle.

"Good evening, Lord Beta." Luke said with a friendly smile on his muzzle as he took the white wolf's expensive briefcase. "How's work today? You looked like you've gone through hell and back."

"Oh, it is literally hell on earth, Luke." S. Aureus replied in an overly tired tone, as the grey wolf chuckled in response. "I had fourty five patients who are assigned to my care, not including those who are newly admitted in the hospital. This means that I had to check on hundreds of papers in order for me to make the proper orders on the physician's order sheet."

"Wow, hehe... and I thought I had the worst day ever in the entire pack." Luke said, a sheepish smile on his muzzle as the white wolf simply smiled weakly in response.

"Hey, everyone has their good and bad days, Luke." S. Aureus said, before a yawn escaped his muzzle which revealed a long pink canine tongue and sharp carnivore teeth. "Anyway, lets go home now, shall we? My mind and body really needs its well deserved rest."

"Yes, Lord Beta." Luke said in complete agreement as he opened the door, and then gestured for the Beta Wolf to enter the vehicle.

"Oh my, it seems that my dear Sparky has been giving you some lessons in impressing your superior." S. Aureus said in an amused tone as he went inside the vehicle. "Anyway, thank you, Luke. Your act of kindness to this tired wolf will be very much appreciated."

"It is my pleasure, Lord Beta... although Sparky deserves the praise even more than I." Luke said with a friendly smile as he closed the door, leaving the white wolf who sighed in relief as he leaned back against the comfortable leather seat.

The return trip to the white wolf's modern mansion could be only described as very, very fast, as the expensive grand tourer tore through the deserted streets of London at a blistering one hundred kilometers per hour. This kept both wolves completely awake, as the adrenaline that was released from their adrenal medulla have stimulated their canine brains.

Eventually, much to the relief of S. Aureus, Luke gently pressed on the brake pedal with his foot-paw as they approached the extensive cobblestone driveway that led towards the wolf's looming modern mansion. He then slowly turned the pitch black steering wheel in a clockwise manner, the car taking a right turn towards the pitch black driveway.

Once the vehicle is parked inside its personal garage, the two wolves then walked towards the main entrance of the modern looking mansion. For Luke, the newly built white mansion reminded him of Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater, with its overly large windows that allowed large amounts of light to pass through, and the modernistic design that is very pleasing to the eyes.

"My dear Luke..." The grey wolf was interrupted from his reverie as he turned his head towards the white wolf beside him. "Since it is already one o' clock ante meridiem, do you want to stay here for the night? I had a well maintained guest room with a comfortable bed where you can sleep in peace. However, if you like some companionship, you can also sleep beside me just like three weeks ago."

"Oh... well, thanks for the generous offer, Lord Beta. But I-"

"I insist for you to stay here, Omega." The white wolf interrupted in a deep, formal tone, his ears erect and pointing forward while a smirk formed on his muzzle, as the grey wolf's eyes widened in shock and disbelief, his ears flattened against his head in submission. "That is an absolute Beta's order, meaning that disobedience or rejection will be justifiable by any method of punishment that is chosen by the accuser."

"What? You can't just pull rank on me!" Luke replied angrily, his hackles raising in slight aggression as S. Aureus merely sighed in response. After all, he is only concerned for the health of his favourite Omega, and he will do everything in his power to prevent any possible deaths in the pack

"Well, as the only qualified doctor in the pack, it is my duty to maintain the health and wellness of all its members." S. Aureus said in a matter of fact tone, his dominant expression reverting back to its normal relaxed state. "Besides, you really need a good night's sleep, and I just can't imagine what will possibly happen when a very drowsy Fur is allowed to drive."

"Fine, fine. I'll accept your goddamned order, Lord Beta." Luke said, making the white wolf smile happily in response as they entered the mansion. "But, since you brought up that strange request about the both of us sleeping on your bed like some lovers in a romantic movie, then I'd really love to accept that one for sure."

"Oh really?" S. Aureus asked as he locked the doors, a smirk forming on his muzzle when the grey wolf nodded immediately. "Hah, you little queer... You really do love my delectable old body, don't you?"

"Heh, at least I'm the queer who retained my manliness, unlike you who took my knot like a bitch in heat three weeks ago." Luke replied in a playful tone as the two wolves walked through the barely lit hallways that led towards the master bedroom.

"Touché, my dear Luke." S. Aureus said, a blush forming beneath his white fur as the grey wolf chuckled in response. "Touché."

Soon, the two wolves had reached the expensive, overly large, modern looking bed room. It was filled with expensive furniture that symbolizes the modern era, along with the advanced, premium looking technology that was bought from a single, reputable brand.

Once inside, S. Aureus quickly stripped himself of all his clothing, throwing them with such accuracy and precision towards the half empty wooden laundry basket as he walked towards the huge, queen sized bed. Meanwhile, the grey wolf who was leaning at the closed wooden doors smirked as he stared directly at the white wolf's behind with lustful amber eyes.

"You know, if you just want some 'alone time' with your childhood friend, you could have asked in a polite manner instead of well, you know..."

"Luke," S. Aureus said with a soft smile as he turned towards the smirking grey wolf, "I really wanted to have some 'alone time' with you. Unfortunately, I also needed to have my well deserved sleep, since my mind and body is too tired from the hospital duty."

"Ah, I see..." Luke replied in an understanding tone, before a yawn escaped his muzzle. "Well, I'm tired too, so..."

"I concur with you, Luke. Lets just go to sleep." S. Aureus replied as he laid down on the comfortable bed and closed his eyes, smiling in relief as he felt the warm body of the grey wolf beside him, as well as the lean and muscular furred arm that was placed on the side of his body.

"Oh my... Your body is so warm, Luke." S. Aureus said in a soft tone as he moved a bit closer towards the source of the heat. "At thirty seven degrees centigrade, which is the normal body temperature of a healthy Fur, you're probably the best bed sheet that I had in the entire world..."

"Heh, same to you too, Aureus... your body is pretty warm too." Luke replied back with a smile, before closing his eyes and letting his tired mind succumb to his body's desire for a well-deserved rest.
