Chapter 1

"Mommy! Can me and Seria go to the river to play?"

"Oh, I guess that'll be alright. Just make sure you both are back before dark."

"Ok! I promise we will!"

The young charmander bolted away happily toward his sister's portion of the cave, excitement flooding every fiber of his being. There had recently been what his mommy had called "bad pokemon" around where they lived, and he and his sister had been confined to stay inside until their parents said otherwise.

As the female charizard watched her son sprint away elated, she couldn't help but smile broadly. She knew how much her two 'manders loved being outside, but she loved both of them too much to risk anything happening to either of them. Plus, there hadn't been any word of trouble in three days, so maybe they had finally decided to leave this area. Also, the river was within shouting distance (at least for a 'zard such as herself), so if anything went awry, she wouldn't hesitate to call them back.

Thinking back, she was extremely blessed to have a son and a daughter that were so full of energy. She and her mate, a strong charizard named Dacus, had met when they were both charmeleons. It had been a tough time for her because she was a female charmeleon in the middle of mating season. It seemed as though every male she met, whether he was a char or not, wanted nothing more than to make her the mother of his offspring.

She had left her parents long ago mainly because she was old enough to live on her own, and she loved to travel around and see everything she could. Her parents, however, stayed in one location her entire life and didn't care to venture any farther than was necessary for the basic essentials: food, water, etc...

She also wasn't a foreigner to the workings of pokemon mating season. This was her first time to experience it, but the sensations that she felt were just as her mother had described would happen. Her parents had warned her countless times before when she was still with them that males would go crazy if there were a female in heat around them. Pokemon lust was extremely dangerous, and if she wasn't careful, she'd be stuck with an egg that she would be forced to raise on her own.

Not that she had anything against a family, but she was a free-roaming spirit and if she were to have to raise a baby charmander, she would be forced to settle down. Because she hadn't seen all that she wanted to see and wasn't ready to be responsible for another life, she had developed a routine for mating season. It had gotten her through the first few days safely, so she was going to continue it until her bodily sensations had gone away.

She had found some very strong-smelling berries and spread them around the little cave that she called home (at least for this time of the year). With the pungent aroma, she was able to sleep comfortably at night with no worries of an aroused male discovering her and mounting her when she was defenseless. She was confident in her strength, and she knew the males' weak points. If she had to resort to them, she wouldn't hesitate to do so. With her routine, she was able to roam freely during the day with little to no worries.

It was on one of her excursions outside her aroma-protected cave that she happened upon Dacus. By now, she had learned to be cautious whenever she encountered a male during this time of the year, but something was different about Dacus when she first met him. The scent of male arousal had become engrained into her brain regardless of what kind of pokemon it came from, so she could tell when a male was close by before she saw one. She was surprised when she first saw Dacus because that familiar scent never reached her nostrils as it did with every other male she had ever encountered.

To be honest, because she had not smelled his scent, she thought that he was another female charmeleon and she should befriend "her". It wasn't until he spoke, and she happened to catch a glimpse of his sheath that she realized the errors of her ways. Needless to say, she took a chance and decided to continue talking to him. She learned that he shared much of the same interests as she did, and he was not crazy about mating as seemingly every other male was.

The two 'meleons chatted for what seemed like hours until it began to grow dark and became difficult to see. The two begrudgingly parted for the night with the promise of meeting at the same location again the next day to pick up where they left off.

The next day, she headed back to the same spot where she had met her new friend, excitement coursing through her veins as she had never had a true friend before. That was partially why she left her parents in the first place; they lived in a fairly secluded area where not many (if any) other pokemon lived, and even if she did happen upon another in her ventures away from home, the chances of them being her age were slim to none.

However, in her thrilled state, she didn't pay attention to her senses as well as she normally would have, and on her journey to meet Dacus again, she accidentally stumbled upon another male. She was brought back to reality when she saw a nidorino in front of her, and she braced herself for the inevitable confrontation that would ensue.

The wild nidorino caught a whiff of her scent and lust flooded his mind as he began to close the gap between them. She readied herself with her claws bared and a flamethrower cued in her mouth. The male before her picked up his pace, almost charging toward her. She let loose a column of swirling fire, but the nidorino was quicker than she expected and he side-stepped the attack. His evasion surprised her and before she could get another flamethrower prepared, the nidorino was too close to her.

He put his head down and shoved his horn toward her stomach. She managed to block the horn to avoid serious injury, but she was tackled to the ground by the sheer force of his body colliding into hers. She fell onto her back, smacking her head onto the ground, and her tail bent at a sickening angle as her weight fell upon it. The impact blurred her vision slightly and before she could fully comprehend what was happening, the horny nidorino had his front legs pinning down her arms.

She began to ready another flamethrower to get him off of her, but the nidorino noticed and was quick to react. He bit down painfully on her throat, cutting off her breath slightly, making it impossible for her to release her flamethrower. As she gasped for breath, she felt his arousal rubbing against her lower belly, fully ready for action and making its way down to her opening. She brought her legs up and tried desperately to push the male off of her or at least injure his lower region enough that he would let her go. The nidorino countered however by biting harder on her neck, cutting off her breath entirely. He also spread his knees, pushing her legs to his side and out of his way. In a last ditch effort, she brought her tail flame up and touched its fiery surface to his side. It didn't stay there for very long, however, as he quickly and effortlessly shifted position slightly so that his right leg stepped on the base of her tail, making it impossible for her to move it.

She felt his arousal press against her stomach several times as the nidorino pinning her down humped her, trying to find her opening. With each thrust, he brought his maleness closer and closer to her opening, and she knew it was only a matter of time before he would succeed and have his way with her. Knowing that she was defeated, she began sobbing as best she could with her lack of air as tears streamed down her face in two rivulets.

As the male above her was near inches from her sex and getting closer with each thrust, her thoughts flashed to having a baby charmander to take care of and how she would be forced to settle down with so much of the world unseen. Panic flooded her body as his member finally lined up with her entrance. Tears still running down her cheeks, she closed her eyes and braced for the terrible feeling that she was about to have forced upon her.

Suddenly, the weight was lifted from her body and her neck was released. She gasped for air as she managed to crack her eyes open and barely make out the nidorino to her left sprawled out on his side, smoke visibly rising from his darkened body. She found the strength to turn her head enough to make out the figure of another pokemon standing to her right before her vision went black and she passed out.

As consciousness slowly returned to her mind, she first became aware of a horrible pain in her neck. She didn't have any trouble breathing, but whenever she moved her head or neck in the slightest, she could feel that it was insanely bruised and might take weeks to return to normal. She also noted that the base of her tail and arms were sore as well, but not as badly as her neck. Her eyes were still shut, but they stung slightly from the dried up tears.

She heard some feet shoveling across the ground coming closer to her. As her eyelids slowly parted, she made out the shape of the same pokemon who had rescued her earlier. She must have been brought somewhere while she was unconscious. She realized that she was in a cave she had never seen before and it was dark outside. The stranger before her placed a couple pieces of wood onto a pile before her.

After the pieces were placed, she realized the pokemon was another charmeleon as he turned to the side and brought his tail flame to the base of the pile. The wood pile almost immediately ignited, and any hidden moisture crackled and evaporated in the smoke as the fire became more intense as it spread to the rest of the pile, all the while illuminating the darkened cave. It wasn't until the new light covered the cave that she identified her rescuer.

"D-Dacus?" She weakly managed to say through her bruised vocal chords.

"Oh, thank Moltres you are alright. You've been unconscious all day."

Although she knew in her heart what had happened, she wanted to learn of how he had discovered her in the first place. Maybe the sound of struggling had alerted him, because she knew she had never had a chance to cry out for help once the nidorino had his jaws clamped on her throat. "How did you find me?"

Dacus sat down on his haunches on the opposite of the fire before answering her question. He knew that she would ask this, so he had worked up his story over and over in his head. He made sure not to leave out any details so that she wouldn't be confused at all given her state.

"Well, I was waiting at the spot at which we agreed to meet. As I was waiting for you to show up, I noticed a little bit of smoke not too far away. I remembered from yesterday that you went that way to go back to where you live, so I decided to go check out the smoke because I was curious. I figured that even though I wasn't at the spot, I'd run into you regardless because it was on the way. To be honest, I didn't even consider that something bad was happening; I was just curious and trying to kill some time.

"As I got closer to the source of the smoke, I realized that it was coming from a bush that was on fire. I didn't know why it was on fire, but when I finally got to it, I saw that nidorino pinning you to the ground, and I saw what was happening. I ran over to you two as fast as I could, but I don't think either of you noticed. I charged up the most powerful flamethrower I could muster, and shot it at the nidorino.

"Needless to say, he didn't see it coming because it hit him square in the side and he fell off of you. I think you passed out before this, but he got up slowly and the two of us fought for a time. He didn't stand much of a chance against me, but he kept charging no matter how badly I hurt him. I think I finally tired him out, though, because he eventually just fell over and lay there unmoving.

"I took that opportunity to check on you now that danger was out of the way. I saw that your neck was badly hurt, but otherwise I didn't note anything else wrong. I picked you up and carried you back here and began tending to your injury. I found some leaves and crushed up some Lum Berries. I wrapped the berry-juice-soaked leaves around your neck for a few hours to try to minimize any external damage.

"The remaining Lum Berries, I left for you to eat whenever you woke up. Other than that, I've just been looking after you and gathering wood for this fire. I figured that the worst thing for you would be for nighttime to come, and for you to be cold." He paused for a bit to catch his breath before adding one final question, "So... are you alright?"

She had been mesmerized through his entire monologue, and had suppressed any questions or comments that she had. When he asked her that question, she involuntarily reached a claw down protectively to her sex. She then felt a wave of comfort as she finally had the realization that she was, without a doubt, safe. She merely nodded in response and an awkward silence permeated the cave.

Dacus shifted a little uncomfortably looking for something to say. He had never been in a position where he had to take care of someone, and he couldn't imagine the emotional trauma that was going through her head at the moment. He did notice that she never seemed to cringe or be offended by anything that he said in the story, so he decided to use that to break the silence.

"So... thank Moltres that that bush was on fire. I can't imagine how I would feel if I had gotten there a moment later. Someone must have been looking out for you."

She then realized that the bush must have caught on fire from her first flamethrower at the nidorino, and that little thing was enough to draw Dacus there. She also came to the conclusion that no matter what, she wanted to stay with Dacus as long as she could. No one had ever stood up for her before - not that she ever had a time when she was that desperate for help. She then shifted her head slightly, wincing a bit from the pain, and fixed her gaze upon the Lum Berries sitting next to Dacus. He noted this and pushed them toward her.

She took one of the berries and examined it curiously. She had never seen such a berry before, but she trusted him to know what he was doing, so she took a bite of it. It was one of the sweetest berries she had ever eaten, and as she swallowed it, and the juices coated the sides of her throat, she instantly felt her neck getting better. Amazed, she continued eating the magical berries, and before long, she had consumed the whole lot and her neck was almost completely healed.

Dacus said after she had swallowed the last bite, "So now how are you feeling?"

"Even better... Thank you."

Dacus blushed slightly, but it couldn't be seen through his already dark orange skin. He smiled at her saying, "You're welcome, and you are more than welcome to stay here as long as you need to."

She smiled back as a wave of comfort washed over her and she responded, "Thank you again." She then noticed that she was exhausted, even though she had been passed out for most of the day. She let out a long yawn and then lay back down next to the fire. She had no worries of being exposed to danger, and her body fully relaxed as the warmth of the fire comforted her. As sleep descended upon her, she said softly, "Good night Dacus."

Before she completely succumbed to the joys of sleep, a distant portion of her brain heard Dacus say, "Sleep well Leanna."
