A Tale of Ponies and Wolves
A Prologue
You are guided into a dimly lit study, filled to capacity with books, relics and tomes of every shape and size. You are shown to a seat next to the hearth where your host is already seated. At first he doesn't acknowledge you, and it isn't till you start to rise that he begines to speak.
"The multi verse, it is a concept that you are just recently discovering. Though in your own unique, and humorous way. You will come to find I like humorous things. Who am I? I have many names, several you are familiar with in your own multi verse. Merlin for example. Dumbledore is another you may have heard of, or even Gandalf.
Why am I laughing, because the look on your face says those those are fictional characters from books. What if I told you that books, comics and even some motion pictures were inspired by the multi verse, their creators just didn't know they were getting visions from the various multi verses.
But who am I? Well for this tale I am Starswirl the bearded. Ah another multi verse you are familiar with. No the story I am going to tell you does not involve Princess Twilight and her friends. As a matter of fact the Pony verse I am going g to show you, they don't even exist.
Let me explain. In her multi verse there are an infinite number of planes, much like your own. Some where everypony is still just base instinct horses, some are variants of what you are familiar with. The one I am going to focus on is one of my favorites.
The Ponies have evolved to a state of near humane form. They are still categorized in four groups. Earth, Unicorn, Pegasus, and Alicorn. It is early modern world, you call it steam punk. The Ponies? How to explain. They stand upright, have arms and legs, and are built like you would expect. Fingers, toes, no hooves. No fur, but their skin has maintained the wide array of colors they once had. Full heads of hair, tails, and pony ears. They range from 6 feet to 9 feet tall. Wings and horns included. Magic still exists.
Wild, right? Here is what makes this plane in the Pony verse one of my favorites. When the Alicorns were still in a state you are familiar with, the original, Faustacorn, struck on the idea that the ponies would need protectors. So she chose another base animal and using her magic brought them to her level of intelligence and intellect. She bestowed gifts upon them and struck an alliance that was never to broken. These animals were wolves. And through the ages the wolves have kept their word and protected the ponies. They have also evolved along side the Ponykine to a near human state. They more so resemble you, but kept their ears and tails. They get as tall as 6 feet or so.
The biggest evolutionary gift the wolves got was that a random few are able to transform in to, what you call, werewolves.
Now hold on, they are not the werewolves you are familiar with. The Wolf as it is known is a completely separate entity from the host wolf. Two souls, one body. Some times the souls get along, some times they don't. Under a full moon the werewolf can transform into a 9 foot tall dire wolf. All other forms of the moon, the bipedal form you are familiar with. No moon, no transformation. However the spirit wolf can take over the host body, if allowed.
I see I have given you to much information, here have a drink. Better? I can wait. Now our story begins at this coevelutionary point. Some names you will recognize others you won't. I ask that you keep in mind that the ponies you recognize will be similar to what you know but not exact.

Starswirl takes a long drink, and with a flash you are taken to a world of Pony and Wolf.
