Part 6 - Fighting Education Starts

Silver

"Alright everyone, get your weapons ready so we can get started." I said.

Looking around I saw everyone getting ready except one, Razor.

"Hm, that's right, you don't have any weapons or anything yet do you?" I asked him.

"Um, nope. Nothing at all. I don't even know what to do, sorry." he said.

"Haha, hey don't worry about it. No need to apologize either. Let's fix this being unequipped shall we?" I said smiling.

I went to the wall and stopped there waiting for Razor to actually say something.

"Um, teach, that's ... an empty wall." Razor said.

"Heh, really? That what you think?" I asked, my eyes keeping on him.

"Um, yea, kinda. It does look empty." he replied.

"Think again." I said pushing one loose stone.

Soon enough the wall started spinning and a whole rack full of weapons showed. Varying in all kinds of weapons under which are fist weapons, bows, swords, knives, you name it, it's probably hanging there on the wall as well.

"Alright then, now what you think of the ... empty wall." I said with a smile.

"In any case, you're free to look at them and just say which weapon you like most."

Razor started looking at all the weapons hanging there, mouth wide open, eyes as well. It looked like he couldn't believe that the wall was full of weapons and he could choose from it.

"Oh, another thing, take both a ranged as a melee weapon Razor, everyone has one of each." I added.

"One of each huh? Both melee and ranged? Wow! I can specialize in both melee and ranged fights here?!" he said mouth still wide open.

"Um, pretty much, you'll only specialize in one kind of weapon though. Like sword and bow for example. Can't teach you everything." I said smiling.

He started looking at them more careful and saw the dual swords, more dual katanas.

"Wow, dual swords, I can specialize in that?" he asked.

"You like those? Take em if you do." I said.

"And yes you can specialize in that if you take em."

"If you see your favorite melee weapon, try finding a favorite ranged now."

He kept looking more and more, until he tilted his head and looked at the throwing knives.

"Um, aren't those being used for both melee and ranged?" he asked.

"Hm? Ah the throwing knives. Yea, you can use them for both melee or ranged." I replied.

"Going for all rounder huh?

"No, but I just like them." he said.

"Very well, Anna, you help him with the basics. You don't mind, do you?" I said shutting my eyes a little.

"Of course I don't mind." she said.

"Good, I'm leaving him to you then, we lost already quite some time now, so ... I'll briefly explain what we're gonna do now." I said looking at everyone that was ready.

"We're gonna go train some more in the previous combo I taught you already. In other words, we're going to add some more to it."

"Heh, so you like dual wielding huh?" Anna looked at Razor.

"Um, I guess. I don't know how to even use a weapon, let stand I'll master it."

"Aw don't say that. You will." she said assuring him.

"You just need practice that's all."

As I was teaching the new moves to the rest of the class, Razor and Anna were going over the basics of how to use a weapon in combat. I only took a few glances now and then but something caught my eye. I stopped teaching and told them to practice what I showed for now. I started to watch Razor carefully and noticed he had some amazing natural talent in the way of dual wielding.

He just sliced away, yet so precise and ... deadly.

Out of nowhere he just started using some combos, not even I could teach. I could only wonder, where he had learned that.

"Wow! Razor, you've got some amazing moves there, and you sure got natural talent in the ways of dual wielding and fighting. That's for sure." I said surprising him.

"I ... do?" he asked tilting his head.

"Yea! You just used some amazing moves, even I cannot teach!" I said.

"What?! You're kidding!" He said eyes wide open again.

"Nope, I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it." I replied.

"Wow, superb Razor! If you can use skills even the teach can't use, that's amazing!" Anna said.

"I'm ... skilled? But I never used weapons before in my entire life!" he yelled.

"Maybe you didn't, but you sure handle em like you should. Your aim was perfect, you hit the target precise and right where you wanted to. You didn't miss once, which is actually supposed to happen for a first time. Deny all you want, you're skilled whether you want it or not!" I said.

Razor

Sure enough, I was slicing and everything just swinging the swords but I didn't think I was making combos or anything. I just thought it was natural that you would connect blow after blow.

"Razor, the way you hit those targets and that stance you have, it's all part of a certain kind of swordsmaster. A Trueblade, and those are very ... but very rare. They barely exist." Silver said.

"A ... True ... blade? What's that?" I asked.

"A Trueblade is someone who mastered the way of dual swords, single handed swords, daggers and knives. In other words all kinds of sword like weapons as long as they're single handed." he said.

"And you got the stance of a Trueblade when wielding dual swords."

"Really? What's so special about it?" I asked.

"You're kidding right? A Trueblade is rare, as I said before, they barely exist. You ... have a big chance of mastering all single handed weapons with practice." Silver explained.

"In other words, you'll be the greatest swordsmaster that ever existed if you practice hard! You'll be someone no villain would want to meet with sword in hand! You'll be that dangerous if you master the ways of the sword."

"You're kidding! I'll never be able to become that great like you're saying! A ... Trueblade?! Come on, I never even heard of something like that existing!" I yelled back denying that I'd be great.

"That's acceptable, but ... there is a Trueblade in this school as well, other than you Razor." he said.

"Wha? Who?" I asked curiously.

"She's standing right next to you." he pointed to Anna.

"Nice to see another Trueblade Razor." Anna said.

"No way! You're ... that?!" I asked surprised.

"Yep, however ... I'm a different kind of. Instead of single handed weapons, I master two-handed weapons." she said.

"Wow, amazing." I said rather unsure.

"Hm, so that's why she's so great with that huge sword of hers?" I thought.

The rest of the class seemed to go fast, and I got better and better with both my weapons the entire time. I was learning from the best, so I knew I was in good hands. Both the teach and Anna did their best to teach me whatever they knew.

I'm sure though that even though teach is hiding it, that he's one of those Trueblades as well. There's no way he'll be teaching amazing combos like that if he weren't.

The rest of the day seemed like an eternity with maths and accountancy both being there and ruining my fun. Oh well, better luck tomorrow with those math problems. I walked home and got there in about 20 minutes, I tossed my backpack off of my back and walked towards the kitchen where I expected my mom to be.
