Part 4 - First day of school: 'Disaster'
As I wandered through the passageways, I looked around to try and memorize where which classroom is.
"Bah, these hallways are too big." I thought.
"It'll be troublesome to memorize where all my classes are." I thought.
Being new in a school had it's disadvantages, like you didn't know anyone and you didn't know where everything is.
"Let's see here, where do I have to be exactly?" I wondered.
"hm, classroom C 1.3? Where's that?!" I thought aloud.
Knowing this would be a disastrous day for me, I couldn't help but wonder if this new school would be so 'great' like my mom said it would be.
Only thing that could be done was to search for my classroom and get ready for some lectures from teachers.
After several minutes of fruitless searching I finally found the room I was searching for.
"Don't ... tell me ... I ran all the way the opposite way, to find the classroom I was looking for was right behind me." I sighed.
"Well enough time wasted, let's see what this class is." I said to myself.
As I wanted to enter the room, I found it was locked.
"Strange, why's the door locked?" I asked looking at the clock.
I started wondering if I were too early or perhaps even too late.
"I'll find out soon enough, I guess?"
a few more minutes passed and a teacher came walking towards me.
"You're for this class?" he asked.
"Yes, I am, I'm new to this school." I said
"Ah so you're the new student for class 6A." he said smiling.
"Um I suppose so." I said little confused.
"Class 6A? I haven't heard of that before." I thought.
"Well you're pretty early, but I can let you in if you want." he said
"What?! Early?" I thought aloud.
A little surprised of my sudden outburst, the teacher backed away a little.
"Yes, you're a little early, like 15 minutes." he said.
"Wow, so ... what time do classes start here? I'm used to getting started in school at 8.20, it's now 8.45, so that means 9 'o clock?" I asked
"correct. We start class here at 9. Not earlier nor later." he said.
"Wow 9 'o clock that gives me some more time to sleep or prepare." I thought.
"I propose you check out the school for 10 minutes and come back after. Or you can enter class if you want." he told me.
"I'd rather enter." I said.
"suit yourself, come on in." he said.
The classroom was pretty big and filled with all kinds of equipment for experiments and more.
"Wow ... this place is big." I said mouth wide open.
"Haha, well get used to it, most classrooms are like this." he said smiling.
After a few minutes, the bell rang, and slowly but surely all kinds of students were starting to show themselves in the classroom.
"Are we all present?" the teacher asked.
"No teach, Anna and Elize are still coming." one of the students said.
I looked around the classroom to get a good look at my classmates. I was surprised to see all kinds of different teenagers. Some even looking like ... me. They were neither human nor animal. They were a hybrid of being human and animal. I felt a little happy knowing that I wasn't ... alone, not like this in any way. There were tigers, bunnies, avian ones, even a few wolves like myself. Then this Anna and Elize entered the room with their excuse.
"Sorry teach, we were on our way when this big monstrous thing showed up slowing us down." Anna said.
"Apology taken." the teacher said.
"Eh? What's that of an excuse to be accepted by the teacher?" I thought.
"A monstrous thing showing up? What's that of a joke?" I pondered on that thought.
Suddenly a bell rang, a different one than the school bell this time.
"Ah crap!" Anna yelled running out of the classroom.
"What's going on?" I asked the teacher.
"It seems like another experiment monster escaped the science lab." he said.
"Experiment monster?!" I said mouth wide open.
"Yes. Hm, you don't seem to know much of this school do you?" he asked.
"No, not at all. My mom chose this school for me, saying it was the best I was going to get." I explained.
"I see, well here's some advice, unless you learn to fight big things, do not go out of the class if you hear that bell." he told me.
"Why's that?" I wondered.
"look out of the door window." he pointed at the little window.
When I looked out I saw the girl Anna with a huge sword in her hands blocking some slimy tentacles. As she was backing away slowly the monster showed itself from behind all the lockers.
"Oh my god!" I yelled.
"She fights those things?!" I yelled at the teacher.
"Yeah, she does, and she does damn great too." he told me.
"we're teaching FE for these kind of accidents after all." he said.
"FE? What's that?" I asked.
"Fighting Education. In other words, we teach you how to defend yourself in combat." he explained further.
So better said, they teach you how to fight, how to defend and how to use weapons.
"I think I'm going to like this school." I said smiling.
I saw Anna getting knocked down and pushed in a corner, when I thought it would be the end of her, she pushed herself up, raised her sword and killed the monster in one swing.
"Wow." I said looking amazed.
"That's our Anna, always keeps going till the monster's gone." the teach said smiling.
"And I thought this day couldn't become even weirder." I said.
