Immortal Lovers

Story by Kurojaki Satsui on SoFurry

Shi was curled in the cushion of the reclined love seat, the foot rest kicked out so shi was curled at the perfect angle to watch the television in front of hir. This was their shared home... he often referred to it as their den, which made hir smile, though it was an all too quiet night for hir, the fifth night of his leave as he had received another job, though shi had yet to know what exactly he done to support such a nice place in the mortal realm, not that shi was complaining. Shi was sure he would tell hir when the time was right, shi wasn't too worried as he wasn't showing signs of having turned to darkness, he wasn't acting secretive or distant as he had in the past when he done something morally wrong.

Hir mind soon wondered elsewhere though, like how shi hungered to hear his voice... even if it was just a whisper of his admiration of hir beauty. The sweet little nothings that shi had grown to hear from him on a regular basis. He was often caressing hir and whispering these words into hir ear. Petite with slim but broad shoulders, a small, nearly non-existent chest, flat stomach, similarly small hips, but shi had an even balance of plump and toned in all the right places. Shi had a well defined, strikingly feminine face, opalescent eyes that often settled on garnet red, long, raven black hair, and often sporting two different types of ears. Sometimes slim, tapered and Elvin like ears, but shi's also been seen with black furred fox ears. While shi normally wore knee-high, suede-leather boots, dark, velvet leggings, and snug but flexible clothing, hir 5 foot tall, 115 lbs, pearl-pale skin was wrapped in a baggy, violet, silk jinbei. It belonged to him, carried his scent, wrapped hir like his arms would.

"Someone's thinking about me?" The voice suddenly asked, making hir ears perk up and hir head to spin around to look at the owner of that voice.

"Kuja! You're home!" Shi said as shi got to hir feet and walked over to him. "I thought you weren't coming home till Thursday?"

He was tall, standing at 6 feet and 2 inches. HE had several forms, but the kind he kept more often than not around hir was his current. He had shoulder length black hair, fading into red as it neared the tips. His skin was a light, misty gray, and his 9 tails were black furred with pink swirls. He had an ornate tattoo that wrapped around his right shoulder, and a void circle over his heart. He currently wore a black leather jumpsuit, showing off his lean and muscular body. It held a strap for all his usual travel weapons.

"Well... everything sort of fell apart," He said with his goofy grin as he embraced hir.

He looked like hell, more so than his normal, demonesque style. He was dirty, there were a few drops of blood that he managed to miss when he washed before he arrived home. Shi decided to see what he had been doing from these few drops, hugging him tighter and lightly dragging hir tongue over his skin, taking them up, hir eyes growing a bit wide from the taste. It was another demons blood, but this demon held great strength, not as strong as either of them, but not someone to be underestimated.

"You ran into another demon while you were gone," Shi said as shi backed away enough to look at him. "And based on the shape you're in... he wasn't all that easy, even for you."

"Well, I wasn't all that easy for him," He chuckled. "And as you can tell, I won."

"Yeah, well, you should really say hi to your children, It's odd, but both of them are throwing a fit right now, they know you're home," Shi said softly.

"Hey they're kiddos," He said as he lowered to his knees, lifting the bottom of the jinbei to lightly kiss and rub at hir stomach. "You two really making all that racket for me?"

He chuckled as he felt the feet press at his the palms of his hands. He kissed at hir bellybutton ring, making hir shiver a little bit before offering a nuzzle to hir stomach and the two that rustled around inside. He decided to give them a small treat to help calm them for hir as he placed a hand over each of them and fed them a bit of his energy. He laughed softly as he looked up at hir and blew hir a kiss, gently nibbling around hir bellybutton ring once more.

"St-stop it!" She pawed at his head. "No, not tonight, you need a bath as well as and some rest."

"Fiiiine," He huffed as he got to his feet and started walking away.

He walked down the hallway, sliding open the solid wood door to the bathroom. He had requested it be made of solid wood as there tended to be a lot of steam held within the room, do to their love of hot water on their bodies. Paper would only absorb that moister and eventually waste away. Shi waited until he had passed to follow him down the hall, stopping at the door. The heavy sound of water soon started from their rather large shower faucet. Shi smiled evily and reached a hand in, shutting off the lights before entering. She was met with a deep murr as an arm wrapped around hir stomach, the other slipping inside the fold of the jinbei and gently flitting over hir chest.

"I thought you said no?" He asked in a more appropriate tone for the devilish being he was.

"Ah," Shi gasped as he lightly pinched a sensitive nipple. "You... you just had to ambush me as I walked in... and you even transformed for me."

His arms were bare and slightly chilled, but the furry, feral legs that lightly brushed at the back of hir knees. This was his form more often than not during their occasional bouts of intimacy. He had been gone for most of the week, of course shi would meet him in this way... his actions showed more to hir than his words ever could, it was just the way he was, a very physical being.

"Follow my feet, darling," He whispered softly into hir ear as he started walking hir towards the sound of falling water.

Shi woke to the loud crash in the living room. It was more than hir clumsy mate having fallen over or dropped something. The clashing of steel against steel made hir snap upright, despite the protest of their children. Shi got to hir feet, only to see that the safe that held his weapons was still safely locked away. Shi growled as shi felt for the Kodachi he usually kept under the large body pillow they shared. It was missing, but it wasn't meant for the heavy fighting that Kurojaki was usually used to.

"Beloved!" He yelled from the living room. "I could really use my sword and revolver!"

Shi growled once more as shi got to hir feet and went about retrieving his weapons before leaving their room. Shi wore no clothes, showing off hir beautiful nudity as shi stomped down the hall, only to see the demon he was fighting.

"I thought you said we were safe here!?" Shi yelled the question at him.

"We are!" He yelled at hir.

"Damn it!" Shi threw his requested weapons at him before backing up into the hallway.

He grabbed both dropping the kodachi as well. He drew his sword, blocking the claws coming at him, his other hand thrust the revolver into the demons face before he unloaded the cylinder into its head. Shi had covered hir ears upon seeing him raise it. They were special, hand loaded cartridges, each one carefully engraved with one of his spells, executing the demon, and making it to where the beast could never be summoned again, or its memories from being spread to those who summoned it.

"Damn it, does this mean we have to move?"

"No my love," He said softly as he sheathed his sword and holstered the revolver. "It's just a Shadow. They use an opponent's shadow to hide and gather information or assassinate upon the command. The only back lash is that a Shadow must deliver the information face to face, so killing it stops the leak of information."

"Does that mean we're still safe?"

"Yes, yes it does." He said softly.

Shi walked over and pulled him into a punishing bite to his shoulder, right on the collar bone. He hissed in pain and froze from it, but dealt with it all the same. At least he had managed to keep the damage to their living room a minimal. Shi sighed and released him before going to put at least a thin silk robe on... he had spoiled hir when they went clothes shopping... even to the point of hiding hir with one of his runes and taking hir to a magnificent clothing store in the modern day hell tha the still tried his best to ignore. That was where they had found this particular robe... a turquoise blue, decorated with yin and yang koi fish with cherry blossom petals sprinkled about here and there with a full blossom between hir shoulder blades.

"Damn it..." He mouthed under his breath as he went about picking up the broken glass and shattered coffee table while still in his stae of full nudity. "How did I not notice a fucking Shadow on me?"

"Did you kill the demon you fought?" Shi asked as shi walked in once more and picked up the weapons while he was cleaning.

"No... he descended right as I was about to deliver the killing blow," He sighed as he looked at hir with apologizing eyes. "Do you think he set the Shadow on me?"

"It's a possibility, you did defeat and try to kill him after," Shi nodded gently before bending down to kiss his cheek before walking away to replace his weapons.

"Shi has a point..."

The rest of the day had passed by rather uneventful as they spent most of their time together, either on the couch watching TV or in his study. Shi liked watching him while he was working in his study... despite his sometimes oafish and childish behavior, he was quite smart and quick. Shi was smart as well, but it just fascinated hir to watch his mind work in the unconventional way it did... it made no sense to anyone but him. Maybe it was just the way the hybrid's mind worked because of his more hellish side, but it could be any number of things.

"Hmm..." He said as he read some of his notes he walked from his study to join hir on the couch once more. "What do you make of this?"

He showed hir a circle of power, one unlike the void circle shi had placed on his chest, and the pagan circles he often used when he required something more than his hybrid powers. Shi took the leather bound journal from him and looked it over carefully before looking back at him.

"Where did you see this symbol?"

"On the demon I fought... I look at all the Pagan, Celtic, Void, I looked over every little thing we have... it doesn't even pop up in the demonic runes," He said as he sat down beside hir. "I'm at a loss trying to figure out what it means."

"What exactly do you do to afford all this Kuja?" Shi asked as shi set the paper down and leaned on him with a huff. "I'm tired of worrying if you'll come back in one piece or not and not even knowing what it is you're honestly doing."

"Are you sure you want to know?" He asked as he took hir hand.

"I want to know..." Shi added looking intently into his eyes... he had even blocked this part of his mind off from hir.

"Okay... but you're not allowed to get on to me for this," He said as he gently lay hir hand against his heart while pressing his forehead to hirs.

He stood as the demons started to circle them... all of them archfiends of differing species. All of them grotesque and armed with nasty looking weapons. He drew his sword as they all walked in a neat circle around him.

"Come on Abaddon... you can't face me demon on demon, you gotta send your grunts out like a coward?"

"Says the vulture who hunts his own kind for prophet, daddy's little toy in an attempt to keep the inner circle sealed," The voice echoed through the courtyard. "Yes, I will send my grunts to meet you because you're unworthy of fighting me."

Kurojaki's eyes became narrowly slit at the fellow demons words. Something in him that shi hadn't seen before... the sudden surge of energy that coursed through his veins. The flames exploded forth from his body, black as hir hair when as it melted the flesh of every demon that surrounded him, right down until their bones feel into a heaping pile around him. Shi could see what it was really like when he went full dive on purpose, not the type of dive he did with hir... this was a Kurojaki on the verge of becoming a feral demon with nothing but blood lust on his mind, and showed just how much control he had... he was triggered by a few simple words. Shi had seen many times where Kurojaki was set off by a few simple words, be had never done this before... he was free to let it flow as naturally as the blood in his veins.

"Either you come to me or I come to you!" He growled, his voice taking on a slightly familiar sound... the screech of steel against steel.

Shi was so shocked as the memory panned out to show just how Kurojaki looked over his entire body. He was on all fours in his devil form, 13 tails erratically slithering around behind him, his forearms and hands were clawed and blackened, his hair hanging down, red tips becoming stained with mud. He held his sword between his teeth, he had never taken to this action when shi had seen this for the numerous times they had engaged in their intimacy, or when they had gone out on the rare occasion and shi watched someone do or say something negative towards them or hirself... he was always calm and collected... this Kurojaki was easy to read... he wasn't going to stop until he had thoroughly shredded his opponent into ribbons of flesh and chunks of bone.

"Kuja..." Shi said suddenly as shi pulled away from him.

"You said you wanted to know..." He said softly as he looked down in shame. "I slaughter my own kind... I've even killed members of my family."

"Kurojaki Satsui!" She roughly grabbed his chin and pulled him into a kiss. "You're so brave to take on such a burden... just to keep hell tucked away from the rest of the mortal realm."

His eyes watered at hir words... but they soon vanished as shi pressed hir lips to his once more. Shi slowly leaned back. Stretching out along the couch as hir legs lifted to wrap around his hips and pull their pelvic areas against each other. He broke the kiss to look into hir eyes... seeing those familiar flames... the flames they shi had shown the previous night.

"Kuja..." Shi said softly as hir fingers lightly traced an invisible circle on his skin. "Promise you'll try harder to maintain control next time?"

"I promise... my love." He said before kissing hir once more.

End.
