Chapter twelve: story of Kira
The attack left six dead and four others injured other than Kira. James still could not wrap his head around the fact a night of sleep and a warm meal made them healthy again. Even after five years of being in this world. Sense they and the heros were going the same way they took point in defense leaving Diana to help them if they needed it. She sat by her grandfather driving the wagon as James and Kira slept behind them. Diana had a lot of questions. All were about Kira. " Grandfather, how did Kira keep her sanity in her beast form?"
He became white in the face a moment as he looked at her before sighing. " In my foolishness I asked that very question to master James face the first time I witnessed her go all out."
He takes a moment to look behind him to be sure the two were asleep. " He would not tell me but she did later that day. You remember when you asked why she does not leave James correct?"
Diana nods. " And their response was she had nowhere else to go."
Howard looked down a little sad having to remember the story. " The day she became his he freed her from her servitude collar."
Diana became puzzled seeing her have one now. " But why did he do that?"
Howard looked away slightly. " He was raised different that you or I. Kira is a person to him and where he hails from ownership of people is forbidden. In fact it is a shunned practice outright. That is how he described it to me at least. Well the right after being freed she attacked him. Nothing too serious, but after she ran away. She learned the hard way what it was like to be without a home. Without one to care for you. Every day she would steal food from stalls and scare the domesticated animals by sleeping in their beds. Every day he would wait for her to come back."
Howard paused, thinking of some of the things he done in his own past. " Every night she would come back to him. Finding nowhere else that would keep her for the night. The complaints and fees for her trouble making alone must have been hard on him, but he never stopped letting her be free."
Howard looks at her again. " After about a week she had calmed down. Other than the fact he forced her to be cleaned up after coming home he never raised a hand to her or even said an ill word. So she accepted him as her master. And she was eager to mend the ills she caused."
Howard pauses again to get a drink of water before continuing. " James invested a lot of time and effort into Kira. More than any other master of a herla girl would. He taught her how to talk, to read and write, and even numbers to great degrees. After a year her latent abilities awakened with her puberty."
He paused again this time because there was an attack on the wagon. Diana noticed this too and went to aid the heros.
After the battle and the spoils collected Diana washed off her armor and blade before returning to sit beside her grandfather again. Howard picks up where he left off without missing his place. " When she transformed for the first time was shortly after her first heat. I believe the day after in fact. I do not know all the details but something fell and would have killed James if Kira did not transform and stop the decent of the object. What he did was rub behind her ear as his reward to her. Did not hesitate a moment."
Howard stops seeming to say more but not sure if it was his place as a voice came from behind them. " I saw it in her eyes. She was no threat to me. Shortly after the incident a pair of heros attacked Kira seeing her transformed still. Kira was not hurt and the heros were not seriously injured but from that day forth we never trusted them. Kira would never hurt anyone unjustifiably. That is the way I raised her."
Diana looks behind her to the two and Kira was just stirring as well as James leaned on a shoulder looking at them. Kira noticed the position James is in and grabs his pants and pulls them down his legs. James quickly rubs behind Kira's ear and she looks at his face. " Master, I want. I been good and it been so long."
James looks back toward Diana and she was obviously red faced by how Howard was laughing. By then Kira's breasts were doing their best to get her what she wanted and she did not need to wait long.
