A Stormy Sea

#1 of Sailor on the Sea Serpent

The sea churned with the movements of the small armada, each ship adding to the waves as they glided through the darkened waters. The sky above was choked with thick plumes of smoke, masts collapsing under raging fires as cannons sounded out through the night. The moon had disappeared behind the thick storm clouds on the horizon and given the sudden ambush the cover they needed to pull up silently on his Majesty's ships.

The young lizard darted up from below decks, the rumpled shirt and half tied trousers he had been able to throw on in the chaos nearly scorched away under the flying ash. The captain was nowhere to be seen and even less of the ship could be made out through the billow of black smoke that rose from the stern. The powder, though likely wet from the churning sea, was not far from the growing blaze. If luck kept it too wet to light, the ship might hold for a few more moments, but the barrels were sealed well before they left port and the tar that kept them watertight would only help to dry the powder out as it too caught alight.

Turning to port, he saw an open patch of sea. This far from land, his chances of survival were few but better a chance of rescue than death by the sword or being pulled down by the galleon's wreckage. He tore the cotton from his chest and tossed it to the side, the few scraps remaining would simply be dead weight in the water. Without a second though he plunged deep into the murky depths, silence washing over him as the waves ceased only a few feet below the surface. Everything was muffled by the water, shouts and cries sounded like the gurgles of dieing men and he felt the water shift suddenly as a massive shadow sunk down past where he swam. Quickly, he turned to the east, pushing onwards through the water and back in the direction of port and safe harbor. Without water or food, he knew such a journey was folly, but life drives the strangest urges and so did he press onward.

Not two torturous miles later, his chest heaved and his body buoyed to the surface. As strong a sailor as he was, fighting the currents was too much. Instead, he drifted for a moment, washed by the few waves left from the conflict as the salty brine stung his lips and eyes. He did not see or hear the creaking of oak or the rustle of canvas in the wind, only the feeling of an oar sweeping low and catching him up. Lifting him from the sea and into the hands of a dozen sailors.

"What have we here, my fellows?" A deep, gravely voice reached his waterlogged ears. "Have we caught ourselves a merman, seeking his coral palace beneath the waves?" The young lizard coughed up a half belly of seawater, groaning as he rolled onto his side. "Or perhaps just another thrown overboard?"

He next felt a scaled hand on his chin, lifting his face up to meet with another's eyes. Grim and narrowed, flashing even through the darkness, the young lizard knew this was not someone to be trifled with.

"What be your name, sailor?"

The young lizard coughed again, his salt choked throat protesting as he spoke, "Luin, sir."

"You know well enough to call me sir, and that alone puts ye above these others." A few grumbles rose from the surrounding crew as the lizard's jaw was released. "Toss him in the hold and wipe him down. He has the look of an oarsman about him and we have need of a strong back."

Hauled to his feet and tossed into the belly of the ship, he was stripped of his clothes and splashed with a bucket of cool, clear water. The salt caked in his scales slowly came loose beneath the steady scrubbing of another of the crewman, a salamander. Luin was thankful for the rescue, but worried that he had perhaps wound up somewhere worse than a watery grave. Such ships and such treatment were the actions of mercenaries, thieves of the high seas. To walk among them was to invite someone to slit your throat.

"A quiet one, are you?" The salamander busied himself with his work, taking sponge and bristle brush to the lizard's scales. "Be too quiet and the cap'n'll throw you off the ship for bein' meek. He's not one for just sittin' by."

Luin coughed a few times before he was offered a cup of water. "...I... Who are you men? Who do you sail for?"

The salamander laughed, "Ourselves and none other." He grinned wide at the lizard, "Does that be givin' you a fright?"

"Will you not simply slit my throat on the morrow?"

More laughter. "Thieves we may be and perhaps even cutthroats, but we never killed an honest man for his honest work."

"What of the ships you sunk? The merchants who sank to the bottom?"

The salamander tossed the brush into a bucket, "Slavers and moneymen. They'd be us, save for the pretty penny they can make under the graces of the King. Worse yet, for they have no kindness towards each other. Did you not see their holds, bristling with gold and the dead?"

Luin shook his head, "I was a servant. A deckhand. I kept to my bunk."

"Not long enough to die, I see." The salamander stepped closer to the young lizard. "I was a slave, taken from the coasts in the South. I know these men and the more money they have, the more they desire what they cannot have."

The young lizard looked down towards the deck.

"I see you know it too. Did they bind you and beat you while they laughed? Push you into their beds like a whore and take you 'till they forced the breath from you until their fat bellies?"

Luin's cheeks grew flush with shame and anger, his gaze still turned downwards.

"Well enough you know, then." The salamander hunched down. "I'm Slick on account of my skin. If I had a name, the chains drug it from me when they took all able bodied boys. You needn't be ashamed, little scale. They are gone now."

"And you all are here. How do I know you won't take the same of me? Beat me and ride my tail until it's red and raw?"

Slick chuckled, "Though you are a fine young man, we keep safe to our own here. This ship is together as any crew may be because we have no other. You'll find us kinder than the sea, at the least."

Slowly, the young lizard's gaze turned upwards, his cheeks still flush. Slick stood, the flickering lights of the hold dancing across his smooth, sleek body. He stretched a long moment and smiled under the little lizard's gaze.

"Why stare at me?"

Luin blushed again. "I just... I don't see many that aren't mammals."

The smooth hands that had scrubbed him now brushed along his cheek. "Only so much fluff a man can take, eh?" Fingertips trailed over the young lizard's snout as Slick slipped back down to the floor. "Something else on your mind, lizard?"

"I... they... they took me to their beds because I was eager, sometimes. To feel filled buy another... I didn't not have that before and I fancied some sense of affection from those who took me..."

Slick shook his head slowly, "You were a fancy, a scandal in scales. They didn't care."

"I know... I just..."

"Sshhh." Slick's fingertip pressed against Luin's snout. "You..." He chuckled a little, "you are a handsome young lizard, little Luin. I will tell you now, that did much to get you on this ship. Many here would wish to stay a moment with you, I among them..." Luin's eyeridges raised as the flush returned to his cheeks, "but you are a freeman now. Just like all of us. We're harsh around the edges, but freedom is something we keep close."

Without even thinking, Luin felt his snout rise upwards, brushing along the salamander's. The eagerness surprised Slick but the clumsy kissed silenced any complaints he might have had. The young lad was strong enough to push the salamander to the deck as his lithe, scaled body pressed firmly against Slick's smooth skin. Tongues met in a moment as Luin's hands gripped Slick's sides firmly. His whole body was on fire, confused and driven at the same time. When the merchants had come, it was brutal and short. Here he felt a sudden welling up, a desire that he'd kept locked away as others would take their use of him.

Slick broke the kiss with a little hesitation, smiling as the felt Luin's slit already parting. The young lizard's cock pressed firmly against the salamander's rubbery hide. Still bare from the cleaning himself, he could feel his own arousal growing, a smooth bump forming in his groin. For the moment, though, the young lizard needed something else. Slick's hands caressed Luin's supple backside and thighs, drawing a delicate moan from the eager lizard's lips. Beneath his new lover, Slick parted his legs, drawing Luin between them and pulling him forward. With an awkward lurch forward, Luin cried out in concert with Slick, his burning shaft just piercing the salamander's tailhole. The two of them held still for a moment before Luin felt his hips urge forward, sheathing his throbbing length deep into Slick's warm pucker. Every inch pushed another soft grown from the salamander's lips. He had been ridden before and taken his share of men but this one nearly scorched him with need, and while lithe in shape, the lizard had ample girth and length hidden away in that young slit. Slick took in all he could an a little more, feeling Luin's hips rest flush with his backside.

Gingerly, he guided the lizard, bucking back against the awkward thrusts and cooing to the lad as the new experience washed over him. Slick felt a pang of guilt, staring into Luin's half contorted face but the lad needed this and his own tail had an itch for this young one's immense length. He rode back against Luin smoothly, calming the lizard's motions and urging Luin to ride deep and steady into his slick tail. Slick had never feel anything this deep before, his insides churning and clenching around the thick cock. This might well be his only chance for such a treat if the captain ever found out about his new recruit's endowments.

A sharp, sudden thrust slammed against Slick's prostate, sending a cry of pleasure from his lips as his milky while shaft, though ignored throughout the sudden encounter, pulsed to life, spraying his watery seed along his belly and chest. Luin too gave out a strangled cry, whimpering as his length fired of rope after rope of syrupy seed deep into the salamander's gut. The two tensed in their positions for a moment, riding the wave of pleasure before collapsing against the hard wood of the deck, slack and spent.

Slick panted and grinned broadly, stroking along Luin's cheek and side. "Quite a greeting, lad. I think the others will take kindly to you as well."
