Ask how much the job pays.

"Sixty crowns an hour, with five hour shifts. Just above minimum wage."

Thank Sam for the job opportunity.

"No worries. I'll keep it for you until the end of the day. Hopefully I'll see you later."

Leave and check out the Valewood Chronicle.

You realise it's very confusing to refer to both the news agency and the newspaper as the same. You promptly dispel the thought as you approach the news agency and enter. The interior lobby is simple and elegant, with two hallways which lead to various half-closed offices. You spot a wolf in the lobby, seated by a set of tables for visitors, doodling in a notebook.

"Oh, you must've read my newspaper!" It's a booming voice - remarkably so, as you spot a mouse gesturing for you to enter his office. "Here to hear about the amateur journalism position, no doubt."

Enter office and investigate job offer.

"Right, right, I'm Quinn, editor-in-chief," he shakes your hand eagerly, "And I'm looking into expanding the Chronicle's_readership. I want _experiences. Well-written experiences, mind, but experiences of significance. Embodiments, shall we say, of emotions. A thrilling tale while observing the many duels at the Amphitheatre , or even better, the experience itself! The dull hum of the university lectures - or perhaps when the hum becomes a hammer, forging your mind into something stalwart! The sight of the floating isles for the first time, what emotions did that evoke?

I'll pay fifty crowns for each article, and if you do well enough, I'll even consider hiring you for a permanent position. Mind you, I will be critical of any submissions, but hey, only one way to learn, eh? There's a letterbox by my office," he points to a letterbox that is, indeed, by his office, "Just mark the article with your name, give it a title, and stuff it in there when you've finished it."

The pay certainly is lower, but it would be a good way to expand literary skills, at least. You thank him for the time and leave.

You stand outside the Valewood Chronicle. It's noon. Well, you think so. You don't have a watch.

HOW TO PLAY

Comment below with suggested actions for our hitherto unknown male Corgi-weasel protagonist. I will then advance the story with said suggestions.

Story will advance in two days or when enough responses have been garnered.
