Too good to be true?

Leave AMA.

You've got your application form. There's nothing more to do here. You think.

Return to town.

Your return to Valewood. It appears there are more people up and about now, as the streets have a smattering of pedestrians and shops have more patrons.

Ask a random passerby about VUST.

You draw the attention of a random passerby - a cheerful ermine - and ask for directions to VUST.

"Oh! Just follow this road forward. See those big scholarly buildings there in the distance? That's the uni."

Down the road, you see what the ermine refers to. The deer wasn't kidding about it being on the opposite side of town.

"You thinking about applying?" The ermine asks eagerly. "Attendance's going to be high this year, so you'll probably end up on the reserve lists if you do. Oh, but I've got to go!" The ermine spots somebody - you guess somebody he's (she's?) been looking for - gives you a quick hug, and then dashes across the street.

Enter The Celephaïs Atlas.

You enter The Celephaïs Atlas.

The shelves are lined with various books of various genres. Display cases display figurines of various wizards, academics, warriors and various handfuls of different professions, both archaic and modern. A quick scan of the topics presented by majority of the shelves reveal there are gamebooks, spellbooks, fantasy literature, sci-fi literature, fiction,, romance novels (with a handwritten note to the left insisting this is _GOOD_romantic literature), thrillers, horrors, ect.; two shelves are dedicated to board games, with boxes of varying sizes and a proper mixture of fancy to outlandish titles accompanying them. There is laughter from the back of the store.

The cash register is to the immediate right of the entrance. It is manned by a fox who eyes you with curiosity as you check out the store.

Inquire about job opening.

"G'day, g'day to you," the fox grins. "I'm Sam, proprietor of The Celephaïs Atlas. I'm looking for an extra hand around here, somebody to man the till, run the various tournaments that are held here at eventide, and help with miscellaneous jobs, like stocking the shelves and advise on purchases. No experience required. Put up the job offering this morning, and I'm a fan of first-come-first-serve, so if you want it, and can promise me that you'll give it your best shot, you can start tomorrow evening."

HOW TO PLAY

Comment below with suggested actions for our hitherto unknown male Corgi-weasel protagonist. I will then advance the story with said suggestions.

Story will advance in two days or when enough responses have been garnered.
