Chapter 4: Escaping Hell's Dungeon

Thor's body felt like it was on fire. Every part of his small frame ached, and his head pounded as if being hit with a hammer on the inside. He tried to open his eyes, but the blinding light that shone outside the darkness of his eyelids immediately shut them. The small fox tired to move, but his body did not respond.

All he knew was that he was sitting, and there was a great weight on his arms and lap. He could only guess that the weight was Kelsey, seeing as his body betrayed him in every way. All of his muscles flinched, causing immense pain to shoot like electricity through his nerves, as he felt the weight lift from him.

A dull mumble rang in his ears. He tried to concentrate on the sound. Slowly the noise became clearer. It was a familiar female voice, it echoed as if being stifled by a great distance. Yet another bolt of pain jolted through him as he felt himself being swooped in someone's arms.

The soft padding of feet was all the vulpine could hear, as the light grew brighter through his closed eyes. Thor felt a warm feeling encompass him as the person carrying him stopped and gently placed him on something soft. He winced again in pain, his body still feeling as if it was aflame. A gentle hand placed itself on his white chest fur, and a kiss found its way to his lips, followed by a gentle voice that made him feel the greatest of comfort.

"It is all right now. I will take care of everything from now on." Kelsey softly spoke, his voice as tender and velvet as ever.

The silver furred wolf easily removed his paw and left Thor to rest. The wolf demon turned around and nodded toward Heidi, who was dressed in a flowing white gown. The room they were in was a lovely ivory color, and had red satin curtains and bed sheets. It looked like and ancient Roman visage of Mount Olympus. Massive pillars lined the rooms and halls, while a crimson carpet with gold trim led the way to a Grand Throne room containing many small thrones and one giant gold throne in the center of them all. Light shone brightly through every pillar, as if they were as close to the sun as possible.

Heidi stood leaning against the doorway, her gown hung lightly against her black fur, a gold belt wrapped tightly around her waist, and a gold crown perched atop her crimson hair. The skunk tossed a few clothes at the scantily wolf, who was only in a pair of blue boxers.

"Get ready Hun, It's almost time." She spoke in a somewhat commanding yet caring tone.

Kelsey quickly dressed in the toga-like garb. He looked down at the now sleeping fox, which looked so peaceful under the velvet sheets. Heidi beckoned him to come, but he hesitated. He did not want to leave the one he cared for in this strange place alone.

"We need to hurry; 'They' are not very patient. Plus 'He' does not need to stay here longer than necessary, for risk of damage to his body and his soul." She spoke again, this time in a more forceful manner, crossing her arms.

The only sound that passed between the two furs was the padding of their feet. Kelsey felt uneasy about this. He felt rather queasy, one reason was that he had left Thor there all alone. He could not remember much about what happened during the fight, only that he awoke here in the arms of his lover.

He thought back, trying to recall the previous events, but they were all one giant blur. Heidi had mentioned that he and Thor mysteriously appeared in her home, Thor was barely conscious and she decided that it was time that they made a visit to this place. Kelsey had vague memories of this place, mostly sad feelings associated with it.

A few images flashed in his head. He saw three small furs playing in a large garden, one was himself and the other two were his brother Kris and sister Klairese. They were laughing and smiling, a sight he had not seen since they were sent to the Netherworld.

A beautiful human looking woman clad in black and purple garments was sitting on a bench holding another fur in her arms. She was very beautiful, she had long black hair that came down to her thighs, and her sparkling green eyes looked at them with a warm loving gaze. She looked down at the black wolf pup in her arms and smiled.

Kelsey snapped out of his daydream of the past by the sound of Heidi calling his name. The crimson haired skunk looked at him rather intently.

"Kelsey, Kelsey, what's wrong?"

"Huh? Oh, it's nothing, just remembering some fond memories"

"Well save the trips down memory lane until after we have talked to the council."

He nodded and continued walking until they came to a giant golden door with two guards posted directly in front of it. The guard on the left was a muscular tiger, his fur having a dark orange color spaced with black bands running up his arms and legs. The right guard was a rather slim artic fox. Both donned bright gold chest plates with a giant ruby centered in them and silver tunics around their waists.

Both guards had their white feathered wings folded neatly behind them and their spears crossed each other, forming an x in front of the door.

"Greeting Milady" the tiger spoke in a low gruff voice.

"Welcome back my Goddess." The small fox stated humbly as he knelt, his head facing the floor.

"Hello, Daito," she motioned to the tiger," Get up Arion, there is no need to be so formal with me." She lifted the small fox's gaze to meet her smiling face.

"Yes ma'am" Arion hopped up smiling with a big toothy grin.

"So who is this guy?" Daito spoke making a jerk of his head in Kelsey's direction.

"He's a friend. We came to speak with the council. May we pass?" Heidi batted her eyes at the muscular tiger.

They uncrossed the spears and pushed the massive door open, straining greatly under its weight. Kelsey looked at her with a rather timid look, he had not been in the palace since he was a child and his mother was banished to the Netherworld for loving a demon.

The fear made knots in his stomach. His father he could handle, but these were the Gods. He knew his father was prisoner in the Netherworld and could not escape so he was safe in the human world, but here he would be considered evil, an unclean by these supposedly 'holy' beings. They made their way into the Grand Throne Room, followed shortly by Arion and Daito who closed the door behind them.

Many ivory thrones and one gold one that sat so orderly in the middle of them all encircled the room. Kelsey felt his fear surmount as more memories flashed through his mind. Several were of his grief stricken mother as they issued her sentence to spend eternity in the Netherworld. He could hear her begging them to keep the pups here in the Heavens, so they would be safe from their father's wrath. The last was of a golden dragon sitting in the gold throne, his arms crossed with a disgusted look upon his face, as he told her that the 'abominations' will follow their mother to Hell.

He was again pulled from his memories, this time by a loud crack that echoed the room. A bright flash of light encompassed them, causing him to bring his arm to his eyes reflexively. The light burned his eyes, and the smell of electricity popped through the air. As the light dimmed and the smell waned, five looming presences made themselves known.

The first to appear was a burly orca wearing a blue toga and carrying a massive sword on his back, the sword clearly taller and wider than him. The next to arrive was a beautiful white tigress dressed in a red garment and in each hand; the tigress spun a spiked chakram. A bulky bull clothed in gold with a giant double bladed ax followed her. Lastly, a female phoenix with blue feathers, a green dress, and a jeweled staff arrived as they all took their places in various thrones around the gold one.

Heidi walked to the middle of the room before turning left and sitting on the throne next to the phoenix. Heidi then motioned to Kelsey to step forward, followed shortly by Arion and Daito who stood on either side of the wolf. A bolt of lightening struck the golden throne, igniting the air all around them. A massive, well-built, gold dragon sat upon the throne, his huge right hand gripping a long silver spear that radiated an uneasy celestial aura. The giant dragon was clothed in fine silver garments and an ivory crown with emerald accents perched above the thick horns on his head seeming to float.

"Why have you summoned us here?" the dragon's voice boomed as he made an angry glance toward Heidi, his eyes narrowing on the skunk.

"There is a matter that deserves our immediate attention. This matter involves the well being of both the human realm and Celestial Realm." Heidi announced quickly standing from her place.

"You are referring to the prophecy. Then what does this abomination that you brought before me have to do with it?" The dragon pointed a large claw in the direction of Kelsey.

"Abomination?! How dare you! Who are you to judge?" Kelsey shouted, his fists clenched tight and his teeth barred.

"Who am I to judge? Boy I am judge, jury, and executioner here. So you would do best to hold your tongue in the presence of the King of the Gods, Kreios." The dragon now pointed his claw to himself.

"I know very well who you are. You are the one who imprisoned my mother in the Netherworld, where Father locked her away from us all."

"She got what she deserved. She broke the law of the gods by lying with that demon. She had to be punished for her actions."

"So loving someone is a crime here, figures that you 'Gods' would not understand the love that some people share" Kelsey pointed out sarcastically, rolling his eyes.

"That's not true, love is encouraged, the only love forbidden by our laws is the love between a celestial and a demon, the love of those of the same family, and those of the same sex." The bull rebutted, slamming the base of his ax on the ground.

"Titan is right. Those who choose not to follow these laws shall be punished in whatever way the council deems appropriate." Kreios agreed.

Kelsey shot an angry yet pleading look toward Heidi, a look that asked for help but also asking why you dragged me into this. Heidi's face looked as that of one who wished to say something, but forbidden to.

"So that is why you refer to me as an abomination, you don't approve of my love for Thor."

"No, I call you an abomination because you are of demon blood and therefore unfit to be in my presence. Whom you love is of no consequence to me, for you are of impure blood and shouldn't exist."

Kreios raised a scaly claw to the wolf. An unseen force lifted Kelsey from where he stood. He kicked and fought trying to free himself from the invisible grip to no avail.

"I grow tired of your dark aura. BEGONE ABOMINATION!"

With that, a sharp pain shot through Kelsey's body. He screamed and writhed, as the excruciating pain shot through his body. He felt as though being torn asunder from the inside out. His vision blurred, a high-pitched whine rang in his ears as he slowly felt himself slip slowly into unconsciousness.

"ENOUGH!" multiple voices pierced through the agonizing screams of the silver wolf.

Three gorgeous young women appeared in the middle of the room, just below Kelsey. Their eyes shone with an intensely bright red, and their silver hair brushed lightly against their alabaster skin. Each one dressed in a fashion similar to that of the council, one clad in black, one in gold, and the last in silver. All three women slammed their staves on the crimson carpet causing the magic around Kelsey to dissipate, and the wolf demon slowly descended to the floor.

"How dare you three interfere in our affairs!" Kreios roared.

The women pointed their ivory staves at the enraged dragon slamming him back into his throne with their own magic.

"Take him to the resting chambers." The woman in gold ordered the tiger and fox, who willfully obeyed.

After the two angels left, the three approached the throne of the dragon in an eerie unison. They held a look of disgust and disappointment on their faces.

"Why is it that the Fates have decided to intervene now?" Kreios asked placing in head in his hand.

"Apparently you have forgotten the prophecy of old, my dear Kreios."

"I know the prophecy fine."

"Then you know that the child of darkness is the only way to stop it from happening."

"You're saying that 'thing' is what stops the apocalypse."

"In a way, yes, he is one of the four who hold the key to unlocking the crown of the human realm. If Mephistopheles gets his claws on all four keys.... Well you know what will happen."

"Humph, I can handle that pathetic demon. You have nothing to worry about."

"You may be King of the Gods, but if do not heed our warning you too shall fall along with the Celestial Realm." They exclaimed, dissolving into the air.

Down the long corridor, the two furry angels escorted Kelsey to the chamber where Thor slept soundly. Kelsey's head pounded he felt like he was just hit by a car, strangely enough, he had been hit once so he could compare. Thank goodness, he was immortal. He turned the corner to head into the rest area, eager to be with his lover again.

He was met with the sight of the three fate sisters, whom he had just left in the throne room, sitting on the bed with a now fully awake Thor. They scratched the head fur of the young fox, giggling like schoolgirls as he murred at the attention. Kelsey could not help but smile, relieved that Thor was all right.

"Here try this," Kelsey sat down and scratched Thor's chest, causing him to shudder. "That really gets him going."

"We're not here for petty games," The sister in gold stood, now with a serious look on her face, and motioned to the other two to join her. It was apparent that she was the leader of the three.

"We have more pressing matters to attend to. First I must ask you, do you still carry the gift your mother gave you?"

"Gift?" he tilted his head in an inquiring manner, his ears perked in anticipation of the explanation.

"The amulet she bestowed upon you at birth."

"Oh, you mean this." He pulled the cross-like amulet from underneath his garment, holding it so the woman could examine it.

"Yes, that is more valuable than you know. No matter what, keep that close to you; never let anyone get their hands on it." She answered in a foreboding tone.

"You don't have to worry about that, I need this or else I transform to my full demon form." He explained smiling to try to cut the tension. "Or so I'm told, I only remember parts of when I'm transformed."

"No young one, that is not what keeps you from transforming, you are the only one who can control it. You can control it by your emotions; if you keep them under control you can control your form."

Kelsey looked at her, confused, tilting his head once again.

"In other words, when you're happy you're you. When you get upset or angry, you change." The sister in black spoke up smiling a wide grin.

He nodded his head, finally understanding what was said.

"This amulet is one of the four keys of the prophecy. When all four keys are brought together, the crown of the mortal realm will be revealed. You and your siblings are the holders of the keys. We gave them to your mother to keep safe, for if anyone holds the crowns of all three realms he will hold the supreme power. A power that once obtained gives the user ultimate control of all the worlds." The sister dressed in gold explained.

"The prophecy states, that under the pale blue moon a hero of both light and dark will lead an army against the masses of the Demon King. The Gods will intervene, resulting in the demise of the Celestial Realm and the destruction of all its inhabitants. The King of the Gods and the Demon King will clash, destroying the Mortal Realm in the process. The Gods will fall before the might of the Demon army, and the crown of the Celestials will be his. The hero will bring the four Keys of Fate together, and reveal the Mortal Crown along with one of the Swords of Pandora, the only thing that can kill an Immortal."

"That's where the prophecy ends. No one knows the outcome, not even us Fates. We are keepers of time, and keepers of fate. We can see the past, present, and future. For some reason we cannot see what will happen. You are the hero, Kelsey."

"Me?" he stared at them, wide-eyed, unsure how to take in all this information. "I'm no hero."

"Do not worry, in due time we shall guide you. You have been given favor by the Fates." They smiled as they evaporated before them all.

Kelsey felt confused, still unsure what just transpired. Thor placed his hand on his shoulder and snuggled up to his lover. This small action suddenly made him feel better. He knew no matter what happened that Thor would always be there to comfort him.

Daito and Arion stood in the doorway; a sly smirk crossed between the two angels, as they looked into each other's eyes.

A few hours prior, deep within the Netherworld.

Pride and Sloth entered the castle gates, dragging behind them the battered, bloody body of a now unconscious Envy. The two walked down the vast corridor, lined with spiked pillars, to the massive skull encrusted obsidian throne. The demon siblings tossed the bruised body at the foot of the throne before kneeling before their benevolent master.

A very statuesque wolf stood before them, his fur the color of blood and his eyes, black as night. His hair, as black as his eyes, was pulled into a ponytail that rested midway down his back. A stone crown littered with blood red rubies was perched neatly between the massive obsidian horns that curved the length of his canine head, and stopped at the base of his neck. He wore a dark navy pinstripe business suit, and in his left hand, he cradled a glass of what seemed to be some sort of red liquid.

"Well, you brought me one of the traitors. Where perhaps is the other?" he lifted the glass to his muzzle, downing the drink.

"So sorry my Lord, I had planned to collect Wrath, but it was Envy who sent them away." Pride reported, not lifting her eyes from the ground.

"Them? You must mean the little fox Lust and Greed mentioned during their interrogation."

"Yes My Lord. Just as I was about to collect him, Envy opened up a gate and whisked them to who knows where. As you can see we tried to extract the information from him, but he was not very cooperative." She pointed to the motionless body at the base of the throne.

"I can see that," he picked up Envy by the scruff of his shirt, and slid his paw inside the gaping hole in the wolf demons chest, "He's a little worse for wear if you ask me. Anyway, throw him into the dungeon, and 'ask him' if he can remember. That is after you teach him a lesson about what happens to those who betray me."

He threw the body to his obedient servants after removing the circlets around Envy's wrists, motioning with a flick of his fingers for them to leave.

Envy awoke a while later, his head felling fuzzy, and his body aching. He opened his eyes, only to see a big blur. He tried to focus his eyes, straining to see where he was. He knew he was somewhere else, cause he heard Pride and Sloth mention something about taking him back, but he only had one clue where 'back' was and he hoped to the gods he was wrong. He lifted his paws to wipe his eyes, thinking maybe that would help, and heard an odd jingling sound.

The odd sound seemed to be coming from him. He jerked up; trying to find what on him was making the noise, only to fall back down, wincing under the pain that shot through his chest. He ran a few fingers over his chest, feeling the nearly healed battle wound. His vision slowly came into focus, finally revealing to him the fact that he was in a dungeon cell. The jingling, he found, came from the shackles fastened around his wrists, ankles, and surprisingly his neck. All the shackle chains convened at a steel circle clamped around his chest.

With all the strength he could muster, Envy pulled at the clamp. He found that to be a bad idea, when he saw that steel spikes with odd symbols on them were jammed into his chest via the clamp. Even though he was immortal, he knew that removing those spikes would only cause him more harm than good. He turned to the chains, putting every ounce of power into breaking them, but it to be to no avail. So, defeated, he slunk down into a corner, pulled his knees to his chest causing pain as the spikes drove deeper, and placed his head on his knees.

After some time had passed, Envy was beginning to wonder what was going to happen. No one is thrown into the Netherworld dungeon to sit there for all eternity. He knew that all too well, being he was once one of the inquisitors here. Through the massive steel door of his holding cell, Envy could hear the muffled screams of those having their sentences carried out.

His ears pinned to his head and he winced at every horrifying scream that penetrated the thick walls of the cell. The creaking of a large rusty door caught the attention of the wolf demon. He could hear footsteps moving closer every passing second. A chill ran down his spine when he heard the steps stop just outside his door, the looming shadow covered what little light permeated the gap under the doorway. The chill now penetrated him to the very bone, as the loud clank of the door unlocking rang in the cell. The bulky door creaked loudly as it opened, turning on the old rusty hinges.

Twin shadowy figures lurked inside the doorway, one just slightly taller than the other. The light blinded him, so he had a tough time making out the strange figures. The larger of the two pointed at him, and without a word, the smaller shadow stepped forward. Envy was by no means a coward, but having seen what transpires down in these halls, he was terrified. The figure came into view; it was Sloth, a wide grin plastered on his muzzle.

The young gray wolf hefted Envy over his shoulder, and carried him off to a secluded room far away from the cells. Pride joined them not too long after. She was dressed this time in a more revealing skin tight, black leather suit. Her blonde hair pulled into a long braid to the base of her back. Sloth wore his traditional white shirt and blue jeans, his spiky black hair filled with blue highlights.

"Sloth honey, why don't we make our guest a bit more comfortable?" Pride suggested, a wiry smirk crossing her ruby lips.

"Yes dear sister." The zombie-like fur replied emptily, removing what few clothes Envy wore, as well as the spiked clamp around his chest.

The spikes retreated from his body, blood dripping off them and onto his obsidian fur. Envy lowered a paw to examine his wounds, but was slammed into back wall by Sloth and chained to an examining table. He immediately noticed the same strange symbols that were on the table matched those on the gruesome device that was once attached to him. The runic symbols ignited the moment his body touched the table. His body felt on fire, he screamed in agony as the runes ran began to move from the table onto his fur. He arched his back, each symbol burned immensely; a few seemed to work their way into his wounds, sealing them up as if they were never there.

The runes permanently attached themselves to his fur, illuminating a vibrant emerald color. The burning subsided, and his screams stopped. The wide smirk still plastered on Pride's face as she watched the spectacle. Envy panted, completely out of breath, the runes still glowing brightly. He was healed, for whatever reason they did it, and with a few strong jerks tried to break the chains that bound him to the table.

"Try as hard as you like, but you will never break those. Do you want to know why? Those runes that are now attached to your body have sealed you power, leaving you as helpless as a mere mortal." Pride smirked, "Now, I'll only ask this once. If you give me the answer, I may go easy on you. If you refuse, then, let's just say your stay here will be a long and painful one."

"You want to know where I sent them, don't you." Envy strained out, rattling his chains wildly.

"So you are a smart boy after all. If you are truly smart you WILL tell me where."

"Hahahaha, you actually think that this small amount of pain mixed with empty threats are gonna make me divulge that. You are indeed mad. My brother is happy for once in his life, and no matter what you do, I promise to protect them."

"Feeble words, from a feeble mind." She snapped he fingers, causing the runes to brighten.

The searing pain once again encompassed his body. He screamed in agony, his roar penetrating even the lowest levels of the dungeon. Pride waved her hand and the pain subsided once again.

"Did that change your mind?"

"No....you're gonna have to do better ....than that." Envy barely managed to get out, his vision blurring.

"Better huh? Sloth dear, I leave him to you. Do with him as you wish, it seems he isn't going to tell us just yet," she took Envy's muzzle into her hand, " but trust me, you will tell me what I want to know."

The small gray wolf nodded obediently, as the blonde woman exited the room. Sloth turned to the trapped Envy, a devilish grin passed his lips revealing his sharp canine teeth. The young wolf's entire demeanor seemed to change with the leaving of his elder sister. His eyes were now darker, more sinister than before, and that smile could send shivers down the spine of even the bravest warrior.

"Now that she's gone, I have you all to myself 'Big Brother'." His smile grew wider, if that was even possible, at the last words he spoke.

Envy gulped hard, he had only heard rumors that while Pride was the most powerful, Sloth was the most ruthless. The look on the small wolf's face was all he needed to confirm that the rumors where probably true.

"Now we are going to have some real fun." Sloth chuckled, kissing the black wolf deeply, his tongue invading his maw.

Envy tried to draw back, but Sloth only leaned in further. He finally broke the kiss, and slowly examined the obsidian-furred wolf that was displayed before him. He took in every contour of his toned figure, including his massive sheath that had begun to swell.

"You seem to be enjoying this." Sloth murred, looking once again at the large sheath.

He ran his long gray fingers across Envy's chest, tracing every muscle as he worked his way down to his crotch. He grasped the large sheath, slowly massaging it, coaxing out the hardening member inside. Envy fought against his siblings touch, but a small moan escaped his muzzle as he felt the masterful fingers on his wolfhood.

"Now that's better." Sloth exclaimed, seeing the fully hardened wolf cock emerge from its sheath. "Now the real fun can start."

Sloth released the member and removed his clothes, revealing the tip of his canine cock in its fleshy prison. He took a few steps back, grinning even wider than before. The tips of his fingers melted, forming long, slick tentacle-like appendages. The tentacles quickly and fluidly wrapped themselves around Envy; one entangled around his chest, and two around each of his wrists and ankles.

One of the protrusions snaked its way up his thigh to his furry sac, massaging the orbs as yet another slick tentacle slithered around his hard wolf member, stroking it gently. Envy let out another soft moan, allowing one of the thick masses to invade his muzzle and snake its way down his throat. Envy tried to resist, but the tentacles kept him pinned down.

A muffled yip escaped Envy's maw as one of the massive tentacles prodded at his tail hole, seeking entrance. Waves of pain and pleasure radiated through his body as the large appendage plunged itself deep inside him. Pain shot through his backside as the extension filled his ass, ramming at his prostate. All the soft gray tentacles worked in unison, sending wave after wave of bliss and pain running through the black wolf's body.

Envy knew that what was transpiring was completely wrong, but he could not deny the pleasure that was coursing through him. That pleasure was short lived as the mass in his hole withdrew, and slammed itself back deep inside. Envy felt as though he was being ripped inside, each thrust of the massive appendage plunging it deeper and deeper inside his ass. He tried to scream, but they were stifled by the snake-like mass in his throat. Sloth laughed at his brother's misery, as a tentacle snaked its way down the small gray wolf's stomach and slowly stoked his wolfhood.

The pain Envy experienced was immeasurable, he had fought many wars and no wound he ever experienced came close to what he felt now. The large tentacle's thrusts came faster and harder, each one feeling as though it was going to tear him in half. Tears rolled down his cheeks, he felt helpless at this point, and no matter how hard he fought against it, the situation seemed bleak.

The mass in his tail hole increased its speed, this time brushing his prostate with each entry. The tentacles around his member tightened their grip as his knot swelled to its full size. Envy knew he was not far from his climax, but he tried to hold it back, he was not going to give Sloth the satisfaction. His efforts were in vain, as he was sent over the edge. His balls drew closer to his body, as he pumped load after load of wolf seed onto his chest and stomach. The tentacles milked him, making sure to get all of the hot cum from him.

The hushed moans of Envy's climax was just what Sloth needed to send him reeling into ecstasy, his hot juice shooting onto his chest and the stone floor below. Both furs panted, each one exhausted from the ordeal. Sloth withdrew all of his tentacles, each one melding back together into his long gray fingers. He grinned evilly, licking the sticky fluid from his fingers.

"That really was fun, I look forward to questioning you more often" Sloth smirked.

Envy tried to interject, but he could not speak. The pain in his tail was unbearable; he shifted on the table to try to relieve some of the pain. Sloth turned and exited the room; followed shortly there after by two heavily armored guards who drug Envy to another cell. The guards flung the abused Envy into a cell slightly bigger than the one he was in before. He wanted nothing more than to sit in the corner and try to forget what just happened, but the pain in his backside would keep him from sitting for a while.

"Well, looks like you and I are going to be cell mates." A voice from the far end of the cell spoke up.

A black bat stepped from the shadows, his toned body and strawberry blonde hair glistened in the dim light of the dungeon. Envy ran his eyes down the tall muscular bat, taking in all of his gorgeous body as he could. His gaze eventually landed on the rather large package the nocturnal mammal carried.

"You like what you see?" the bat smirked, striking a diva pose and spreading the violet wings on his back to their full length.

The bat walked over and placed an arm over the black furred wolf, who flinched under the touch. "Looks like old Sloth claimed another victim today. Don't worry it will be all right, he is rarely here anyway. He is normally off with Pride, helping her with Mephistopheles' orders."

Envy was enjoying the little bit of attention he was getting from this new acquaintance. He hadn't had anyone other that his siblings to talk with in over a millennia.

"My names Riot, by the way." The bat smiled.

"I'm Envy, nice to meet you." Envy replied shyly, the insides of his ears turning a bright red from him blushing underneath his fur.

"Whoa, whoa, wait a minute," Riot protested, removing his arm from Envy's back, "Envy? You mean you're the weapons master of the four High Demons."

Envy nodded his head sheepishly, not realizing he was that well known. Riot patted him hard on the back and gestured for him to sit with him. They both took a seat on the stone slabs jutting from the wall that were meant to be beds. Envy winced at the pain that shot through his tail as he sat next to Riot. The bat just laughed at him, trying to ease the mood from the events that Envy just experienced.

"I knew you looked familiar, but those green glimmering runes threw me off. They must really be afraid of what you might do to put those on you. They usually use those on the most dangerous, or rowdy of us. It's odd for them to put them on a newbie, but considering you are one of the Four I guess it's 'better safe than sorry' for them huh?"

"So you know about these things then." Envy asked pointing to one of the runic symbols

"Yup, they are supposed to seal away the demonic power, so the prisoner is more cooperative."

"Do you know how to go about removing them?"

"Well," he rubbed the back of his head, "that is easier said than done. You cannot really remove them; you just have to unseal them. Luckily, for you I know someone who can help. Problem is, she's on the outside, deep in the Forbidden Forest, and I don't think they'll be letting you out anytime soon."

"You're right; I'm pretty much stuck here. If only I could get word to Lust or Greed, they could help me out."

A saddened look crossed Riot's muzzle, his eyes darting to the floor, "That might be a problem."

"Why?"

"Well, that's sort of the reason I'm in here. I was the top commander of Lady Lust's battalion; a few days ago, she was tried as a traitor and sentenced to be destroyed. Pride killed both her and Lord Greed with that eerie eye of hers. I'm sorry to have to tell you this." He hung his head, desperate to break eye contact.

"Thanks for telling me. I am sorry you were caught up in all this though. If it were not for us, you would not be here. They were very close to me, but I can't change what has happened, I will see to it that Pride pays dearly for what she's done, Sloth too."

"But how are you going to do that, when you're stuck in here?"

"I don't know that yet, but I do know one thing, we will find a way out, and when we do will you take me to this woman so I can get my power back."

"It would be my pleasure Lord Envy."

"Don't call me that, it's just Envy okay. We're equals; there is no hierarchy in here."

The days passed by quickly in the Netherworld, and Envy and Riot grew closer to planning their escape. Envy began to grow rather fond of his cellmate, seeing as how they spent every minute together. He could not explain the feelings he had; all he knew was that he never wanted to leave Riot's side. Envy never really thought of the fact that he might be gay, he accepted Kelsey for how he was, but never really thought about it. He understood the feelings he held for Riot were real, but was unsure if the bat felt the same.

Riot noticed all the admiring glances he was getting from the wolf, he was rather flattered, and it had been quite some time since he had a mate. He started to tease the wolf a bit, enjoying the attention. In the next few days, the two became close, though neither spoke about the feelings they harbored for one another.

The day finally came when all their preparations where in order, and that night they intended to escape this hellhole. It wasn't hard breaking out of the Netherworld dungeon, it was hiding from Mephistopheles' army when they hunted you down that was the problem, that and the only way out of the Netherworld was either with the main gateway in the castle or with high end magic. Luckily, if they were able to unseal Envy's power they could just use a portal to return to the Mortal realm.

The next day the guards came to take Envy to the interrogation room, where Sloth eagerly waited. Envy looked at Riot, who gave him a reassuring smile. Envy gulped hard, he knew what he had to do, but no amount of preparation would ready him for what would happen. The armored guards dragged him down the stone hallway and into the room, where he was face to face with his younger half-brother.

Riot paced the floor of the cell, impatiently. He knew what Envy set to accomplish and the hellish pain the wolf would have to endure. A few moments later the cells were filled with the piercing screams of Envy as Sloth began his onslaught. Riot could do nothing, no matter how bad he just wished to go rescue Envy. Tears welled up in the bat's eyes, as the screams grew longer and more intense.

Riot slunk down into the corner nearest the door, tears rolling down his stout muzzle. He knew the immense pain the wolf was enduring, for he too was once on the receiving of Sloth's punishment. It had only been a short time since he met Envy, but he did feel an attraction to him. He hated the fact that Envy volunteered to do this, he told the wolf that he would do it, but Envy insisted saying he could not bear to see Riot hurt.

Now the only one Riot cared anything for was being mercilessly tortured, in gods know what way, and he could not do a damn thing about it. He clenched his fists, as the frustration surged through his body. He wanted nothing more than for this to all be over with, so they could leave and never come back. After about an hour passed, the guards returned with the bloody, beaten body of Envy. They carelessly threw the body at Riot's feet.

"Ha, that one put up quite a fight with Lord Sloth this time around." The largest one laughed.

"Yeah he did, but in the end he got what he deserved." The other added.

Hearing this did not help settle the frustration, Riot was feeling. He did not care what happened at this point, he just wanted to stifle those two, and he wanted to make them regret laughing at Envy's pain.

As he was about to take a leap for them, he felt a paw wrap around his shackled ankle to stop him. He glanced down at Envy, who looked at him with a weak smile. Riot relaxed and knelt next to the wolf as the guards locked them in.

"Why did you stop me? You don't know how bad I wanted to shut them up." Riot, frustrated, slammed his fist to the ground.

"Because dear Riot, I have this." Envy reached in his maw and extracted a small gold key.

"Well you son of a bitch! I can't believe you did it."

"I told you I would didn't I? It made the pain all the easier to bear." Envy said weakly.

"You still shouldn't have done that, I told you I should have been the one to. I could not stand to hear you scream like that. I care for ya, you know." Riot confessed, tightly hugging the ebony wolf, causing them both to blush.

They stayed in the embrace in silence for several minutes, until Envy broke the quiet, "Umm, Riot?"

"Yeah, Envy?"

"Could you please let go, you're kind of hurting me." Envy winced.

"Oh god, I'm sorry." Riot released him.

The two furs slept soundly that night, for now their escape was imminent. Envy was the first to awaken. He looked over at the sleeping bat and smiled. The embrace they shared the day before made it clear to him that Riot did have feelings for him, and that made the wolf demon happy. He unlocked both sets of shackles and rubbed his wrists, they really were uncomfortable things.

He quickly roused Riot and released him from his bindings. Envy carefully unlocked the cell door, easing it open, trying not to make any unnecessary noise. They silently padded past the two sleeping guards posted outside the cellblock, and made their way to the armory. After slipping easily into the armory, the two demons grabbed a couple of suits of armor, and a few weapons just in case they ran into any trouble.

Envy gingerly opened the side door to the armory to check for any guards, luckily, there was not any. This side entrance led to the arena, where the guards took some of the more uncooperative prisoners that did not need interrogating, to fight for their amusement. At a narrow gap between the hall and the arena, the two slipped through and finally made their way out of the castle.

They made their way across the craggy volcanic terrain, making sure to avoid the lava pools. After quite a while of running, they finally made their way out of the lava fields, and into the edge of a very dense forest. Envy was finally glad to be free of those fields; he was not very fond of the heat. They both sat down near a tall pine tree to catch their breath and rest for a bit.

"Haha, I can't tell when the last time I ran that far was. That escape was a lot easier than I though it would be." Riot chuckled, still catching his breath.

"It helps when you have someone that knows their way around as well as I do." Envy grinned.

"I guess so. It also helps to have someone as determined as you too."

After a few minutes, they made their way deeper into the forest. The eerie quiet was unsettling, there was no noise what so ever, and that puzzled the wolf. Riot seemed to trudge on as though all was normal, but Envy could not help but think something was a bit off. They were a good ways into the woods, when they came to an open clearing right in the middle of it.

"Well, here we are." Riot exclaimed.

Envy looked around curiously, seeing nothing but tall grass up until the forest picked up again on the opposite side of the clearing. Riot made his way into the field; he turned to motion to the puzzled wolf before he took one last step and vanished. The wolf called to him, running over to where the bat once stood. An ebony hand reached out from nowhere and yanked him forward. Soon Envy saw a small hut, nestled in the center of the field.

"Sorry, she likes her privacy. Only those of us who know about it can find it. She has the barrier up to keep the unwanted out."

Envy nodded in understanding as they entered the small shanty house. They were greeted by and elderly woman sitting in a rocking chair with her back to them.

"Come in Riot me boy, it's been far too long. I see you brought a friend, welcome my child, welcome. Have a seat and I'll be right with you."

She rose from her chair, and stirred a large cauldron, before taking her seat next to the two furs at a large table. She looked Envy over, examining the glowing green marks on his fur.

"So, you've come to have me remove the seal have you?"

"Yes ma'am. Can you do it?"

"Hmmm," she examined the runes once more, circling Envy as she did so, "these are much more powerful than the ones I've removed in the past, but I believe I can remove them." She crept over to a set of cabinets on the wall, and began rummaging through them.

"Thank you ma'am, I'm very grateful for your assistance."

"I wouldn't thank me just yet. It would seem Riot neglected to tell you that, although I can remove the seal, but the runes will remain. These runes seal one's demonic power, and they are a permanent magic that is meant to be a constant reminder to the bearer of why they are attached. In addition, the process in which to dispel it is very long and painful process. Do you think you're up to the challenge?"

"I will do what is necessary to get my power back. I have to get to my brother, and help him, before the others find him. I never got the chance to tell him what father is planning."

"Well my boys, if you're ready, let's get started." The woman returned with several bottles, and masterfully added them to the bubbling cauldron. "I warn you, this may be the most excruciating pain you have ever experienced."

Envy nodded, letting the woman know he was willing. The old woman mumbled some odd words, as she stirred the concoction in the cauldron. Purple smoke billowed from the pot, and enveloped the wolf, as the woman's chanting now grew louder. The only thing heard next was the piercing screams and howls of a wolf in agony.

Envy now knew what the old woman meant; this was truly the worst pain he ever felt. It was as if his insides were ripped out of him one piece at a time. He could feel every bone break and refuse together. His muscles ripped, his heart pounded as though it would burst. Every fiber of his being felt like it was on fire, as if he was being dropped into a boiling lava pool.

This process lasted for two long days, before the woman grew weary. "Riot me boy, come here." She called.

The bat willfully obeyed by standing at her side. The old woman's knees buckled, as Riot caught her and lifted her to her feet. He quickly dragged the old rocking chair over to her. She eagerly sat back into the chair, her breathing quickening from the strain.

"What can I do Lady Mika?"

"You are going to have to finish the ritual my boy. I do not have the stamina for runes of this caliber. Just close your eyes and concentrate, summon all of the magic you can muster and pour it into him. You remember what I taught you all those years ago. You have only the final binding left to release."

With that, she leaned back in her chair, watching her favorite pupil as he prepared himself. Riot shook a bit, the nerves welling up in him. He remembered his training for unsealing, but he also remembered that he sucked at it as well. Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes and focused on releasing his magic.

Riot's body began to glow with a deep purple light, as the purple smoke poured from his body and into Envy's. The wolf's screams intensified, nearly scaring the bat off balance. Riot kept focused on his task, trying hard to ignore the pain of the one he cared for. Another two days passed until the ritual was finally complete. Both the woman and Riot slept soundly next to the fire. Envy on the other hand, was nowhere in the small cottage.

Envy ventured off into the forest. He came to a small cliff that overlooked a beautiful lush valley. The black wolf laid down in the bright sunlight and closed his eyes. It felt good to take in the true beauty of the Netherworld. Sometimes he was amazed that such a chaotic place could be so beautiful. Most people thought it as a place covered in fire and rock, but it used to be a lush green place before Mephistopheles took over as the ruler.

The sunlight felt wonderful on his obsidian fur. The green runes glowed immaculately, as they absorbed the heat from the suns rays. Envy took a deep breath, smelling the sweet scent of the nearby waterfall and the lilies in the field below. He wanted nothing more than to just lay here and sleep, but he knew that he might be spotted out here in the open.

Envy made his way back to the cottage, where he was greeted by a not so happy Riot. "Where in Hades did you go? You had me worried sick!"

"I'm sorry; I just went for some fresh air."

"Well don't go without me okay." Riot commanded, the worry in his eyes almost seeming as tears.

"Alright, I won't wonder off." Envy smiled his tail wagging.

"You two quit squabbling and come over here." Mika ordered.

They joined the old woman by the roaring fire. She handed them both a set of clothes, which were much more practical than the clunky armor they wore there. The two quickly changed, as the woman placed a couple of bowls of soup on the table for them.

"Now then, eat up, you're going to need your strength for when you leave, but first I want you to test and make sure your power works before you leave." Mika pointed out.

"Yes ma'am." Envy replied, hungrily eating the delicious food.

After they had eaten, the woman told Envy to try out his power. The wolf raised a black paw into the air; a red swirl of light engulfed his hand as a small ax appeared. "Well it appears you do have power, but is that all you can do?" The woman asked

Envy smirked at the old woman and raised his hand again. This time the light grew larger, and a massive broad sword, bigger than all of them fell into his hand. Envy laughed, hefting the blade with such ease. "Seems like I still got it, I owe you so much Lady Mika, how can I ever repay you?" Envy questioned.

"You owe me nothing me boy, Riot did most of the work. You should be thanking him."

"How can I repay you?" Envy turned his attention to the bat.

Riot pondered of a bit, and then walked over to the waiting wolf. The bat looked at him, and planted a kiss right on his muzzle. "That'll do for now." Riot smiled.

The two thanked the old woman, and left. They made their way out of the forest and to the cliff Envy visited earlier. The view was astounding, the rushing waterfall, the flower fields, and the lush forests. Envy noticed something over by the waterfall that caught his eye.

"Hey come here I want to show you something," The wolf exclaimed, grabbing the bat's had and leading him down to the base of the waterfall.

Once there they were met with a massive stone statue of a woman. The woman was a visage, with long hair and a voluptuous figure. At her feet stood four, various weapons jammed into the ground. Riot stood in awe at the giant statue, he did not even notice Envy had walked to the base and knelt down. Riot followed him, copying his movements.

They knelt there for a moment, before Riot looked up, "Who is she?" he asked.

"She's my mother; she was sealed here over millennia ago. All four of us vowed that day that we would not let the same thing happen to us. We placed our weapons here as a symbol that we will always fight for what we believe in, just like she wanted us to."

"Wow, she must have really been something."

"She was. I miss her terribly." Envy broke down, tears formed in his eyes. The wolf sobbed, he would always miss his mother for she was the only other one besides his sibling that cared for him. Riot placed a hand on his back to help console him; it was at that moment Envy knew that he did have someone else that cared for him. Envy stood, wiped the tears from his eye and hugged Riot.

"I'm glad you're here with me." Envy revealed.

Before they left, Envy ripped two of the weapons from the ground, the first was a scythe with a serrated blade and a skull at the top, and the second was a massive claymore sword that was nearly three times his size, but he lifted it easily as if it was made of plastic.

"I'm sorry Mother, Kris, Klairese. I know I promised not to wield this sword again, but the circumstances call for all the power I have. I hope you can forgive me." Envy stated turning and kneeling once more before the statue.

Envy turned to Riot and lifted a hand out in front of him. A crimson portal swirled before them. The two demons looked at each other, took a deep breath and stepped into the vortex.

Lady Mika watched them from the cliff top. She laughed, her form slowly turning into that of one of the Fate sisters, as she vanished into the air.

I did things a bit diffrent in this chapter, so I hope y'all like it.
