My name is Drin. I am a 17 year old, blue otter and I am gay. I am a senior at Forn high. I'm a bit on the small side for kids my age; I'm only five foot nine while most other otters are reaching 6 ½ foot. I'm on the school's swim team and have a body to show for it. I have brown eyes that are usually covered by my long white hair. I am also very lonely.
This is my story.....
"Let's see..... I'm seventeen.... I am five foot nine...... I'm on the school's swim team...." I listed off as I typed them up on the computer.
"Okay... and..... Send!" I clicked the post button and I was now signed up for an online dating system.
I have been depressed lately. The reason, I realized, is because I'm lonely. So I have decided that I should sign up for on a dating site. We'll see how it works. The website said it would take about 5 minutes to find someone for me.
"DING!" came from the computer.
"Oh wow that was fast...." I said as I clicked open.
I read what the computer said.
We have gone over your results and have found someone in your area who would best be suited for you. We have contacted them and a date has been set up for you. He will pick you up Friday at 6:00. Once in the car we will send the directions to your pre-paid first date destination, to your GPS. We wish you a fun time!
"Pre-paid?" I said. "I don't remember that.... Well anyways I can't wait for Friday!" And with that I signed off my computer and went to bed.
Friday night, 5:50.
"SHIT!" I exclaimed as I jumped out of the shower and looked at the clock.
I ran to my closet and pulled out a nice white shirt and some gray pants. I ran to the other side of my room and pulled out some boxers and some socks, then ran back to my closet and pulled out some shoes.
"Gotta hurry..." I said as I threw on my clothes.
After making sure I looked alright in the mirror, I went to the front room.
"Honey, are you leaving?" I heard my mom from the other room.
"Not yet but soon..." I replied.
"Okay. Have fun.... Be safe." She said.
"Don't worry." I told her.
I loved my mom. She was a little too protecting but she loved me. She was tall and young and has caramel colored fur. She was pretty but she had an air around her that was saddening. She's been upset ever since my father had left a few years back.
Ding Dong! I jumped up and smoothed my shirt. I walked to the door and opened it. I gasped. Standing there was a 7 foot black dragon. He looked to be my age. He was wearing a nice red shirt and some black pants. He had two large black wings folded behind his back and his hair was short with his horns sticking out and back. He looked like he worked out but he didn't look like a tough guy..... He looked really kind of cute.
"H-hello. My name's Will." He said, blushing a little.
"Hi. I'm Drin." I said in return, looking up into his deep green eyes.
"So... um... y-you ready to go?" Will asked.
"Sure!" I replied, a little too energetically.
We walked down the driveway and got in his car. He then got us on the road and then the GPS got the directions and we were off.
"So......" I started. "You work out?"
"Yea a little..." Will replied blushing a bit.
"You do any sports?" I asked.
"I don't really, no" Will answered. "Do you?"
"Oh uh yea I'm on the school swim team." I told him.
"That's cool." He said. "Do you like it?"
"Definitely. I love being in the water. Plus it's the one thing I do best." I said.
We stopped at a stop light. I looked over at him and saw he was shaking a little.
"You all right?" I asked.
"Y-yea... I'm just a little nervous." Will told me. "I haven't been on a date in a while..."
"Neither have I." I said "I'm really hoping we have a good time."
The light turned green and we continued.
"Yea, m-me too." Will said.
I put my paw on his thigh. He jumped a little and looked at me, then turned back to the road. I squeezed gently.
"It's okay. You can calm down a little. I won't judge." I tried calming him.
He sighed and put a clawed hand on my paw. "I'm sorry."
I leaned my head against his shoulder. "It's okay."
With my hand on Will's thigh and my head on his shoulder, we continued on to the destination. After about 10 more minutes we pulled into a parking lot and I looked up. I jumped when I saw where we were. In front of us was a huge seafood restaurant. I stopped breathing for a sec. I was screaming on the inside, I am the only otter I know who can't stand seafood. I looked at Will and saw he was smiling.
"Well time for dinner." He said unclipping his seat belt.
"Y-yep!" I said trying to hide my disgust.
We entered the restaurant and went up to the counter.
"Reservation?" the tall bunny behind the counter said.
"Um... yes. We are here for our date..." I said
"Are you Evadrin Denny and William Rellings?" asked the bunny.
"Yes." Answered Will
"Right this way then." Said the bunny as he grabbed two menus and walked away.
We followed behind him until we got to a booth on the side of the restaurant.
"Here you go. Have a nice dinner." said the bunny.
"Thanks." we said in unison.
We blushed a little as we sat down next to each other in the booth and looked at the menus. I looked for the smallest dish they had. While I had my face buried in my menu, a waitress came over.
"Good evening I am Kelly and I will be your waitress tonight. Can I start you off with some drinks?" she asked.
I looked up at the cat girl and thought of what I wanted.
"I'll have a Doctor Pepper." said Will.
"I'll have the same." I said.
"Okay I'll be back with your drinks in a sec." she said as she walked away.
"Doctor Pepper fan?" I asked Will
"Yea. It's my favorite." He replied.
"Mine too." I said.
Will slid his long black tail behind me and pulled me closer. Blushing a little, I leaned against his side. That's when Kelly got back with our drinks.
"Awww that's cute." She said as she set down our drinks. "How long have you two been together?"
"This is our first date." Will said.
"That's great! I hope you two enjoy your date. Well then what can I get for you to eat?" She asked, pulling out her notepad and pencil.
"I'll have the crab cakes." I said.
"And I would like the fried salmon please." Will said.
"Okay! Your order should be out in a few minutes!" Kelly said, smiling at us.
As she walked away I closed my eyes and sighed. I rubbed my head against Will's arm and murred a little. Will blushed and kissed me on the forehead. 'This isn't going bad at all' I thought to myself. That's when I smelled the fish coming from the kitchen and wrinkled my muzzle.
"You okay?" Will asked.
"Hmm? O yea I'm fine." I replied.
"Okay, you seemed a little upset for a second is all...." he said.
"Nope I'm fine. How about you?" I asked.
"Everything is going good so far so I can't complain." he said.
I chuckled a little then closed my eyes again. After a little while Kelly came back with our dinner and I sat up.
"Here you go! One crab cakes and one fried salmon." She said as she placed our dishes in front of us. "Enjoy!"
I looked down at the crab cakes in front of me and sighed inwardly. 'Okay here I go' I thought. I picked up my fork and cut off a piece of one. I then ate the piece and nearly gagged, but I managed to force a smile and take another bite. Will was smiling at me as he took a bite of his salmon.
"This is pretty good." He said as he took another bite.
"Y-yep it's good." I said.
So I kept it up and forced almost all of it down before I realized it wasn't going to stay down.
"I need to use the bathroom. I'll be right back." I said.
"Okay" Will replied.
I got up and slowly walked around the corner. As soon as I was sure Will couldn't see me, I cupped a hand over my mouth and dashed for the bathroom. I burst through the door and into a stall. Soon my entire dinner was in the toilet in front of me and I was still gagging. I pulled myself away from the toilet and flushed it. Then I went to the sinks and rinsed my mouth out. Looking in the mirror I said to myself.
"What am I going to do?"
Then I left the restroom and walked back to our table. When I reached the table I saw Will had his Face in his hands and his shoulders were moving up and down. I put a hand on his shoulder, thinking he was crying when I heard a snicker.
"hehe...... hehaha..... Pffffhahahaha!" Will exploded.
"What's so funny?" I asked.
Wiping a tear from his eye, Will replied. "You hate seafood don't you?!"
"W-well ....... Yes....." I gave in. "How did you know?"
"Well I have never seen anyone run so fast to the bathroom before." he said.
"You saw me?" I asked sheepishly.
"Yea. There is a mirror that points down the hallway over there." He said pointing to the glass some feet away.
"I'm sorry." I said as I sat back down next to him with my tail in my lap. "I didn't want to ruin the date, so I didn't tell you."
"Hah! It's fine! Just to let you know I hate seafood too." Will said as he put his arm around my shoulders.
"Really?" I asked
"Yea I can't stand it, but apparently I can hold it down better than you." Will said this then kissed me head.
I rubbed against his arm and hugged him. So we had both did something we hated for each other. I looked up at him and kissed him. He was taken by surprise but, blushing a little, he kissed back. His tongue made its way into my mouth and I put my smaller tongue in his. 'This is the best moment of my life' I thought. Then he pulled away and looked me in the eyes.
"I love you." He said.
I kissed him again and looked into his eyes. "I love you too."
"Awwwww!" Kelly said.
We both jumped and looked at the other end of the table where Kelly had arrived to get our plates.
"That's adorable!" Kelly continued. "So I take it you had a good time?"
"Yes... yes we did." I said.
"Thank you for the meal." Will said to Kelly.
"Oh! no problem. It was the cooks who made the food anyways." Kelly said.
"Well we didn't see the cooks, did we?" Will replied.
"Well no but.... Well goodnight!" She said as she hurried away.
I laughed a bit as Will and I got up and left the restaurant holding each other's hands. We reached the car and got in, this time I was sitting on his lap in driver's seat. I lay back in his lap and buried my face in his chest. I inhaled the smell of my boyfriend and murred happily. I heard a rumble in his chest and he rubbed his hand down my back. I melted at his touch and wrapped my arms around him. Will started the car and we drove away.
We didn't talk very much. We just sat like that on the way back to my house. It was a great drive home. Sadly we arrived at my house sooner than I would have liked. We pulled into my driveway and I sighed, rubbing against Will and stretching. He opened the door and I stepped out. After Will got out I grabbed his hand and we walked to my front door. I opened it and motioned for him to come in.
"Honey is that you?" I heard my mom call from the room over.
"Yes it's me." I answered.
My mom came around the corner and smiled.
"Hello!" she said to Will.
"H-hello ma'am." Will said nervously.
"Oh no no. No need for ma'am. You can just call me Mrs. Denny." My mom replied.
"Okay.... Mrs. Denny." Will said.
"So did you boys have fun?" She asked.
"Yea. We had a great time." I said smiling.
"That's good to hear." She said. Then noticing Will was uncomfortable she added, "I'll let you two be then."
My mom left and Will visibly relaxed. I chuckled a little, as he kissed me.
"So.... Would you like to come over tomorrow?" asked Will.
"I would love to." I said as I kissed him again.
Will smiled and kissed me again. Then he picked me up and hugged me tightly. I hugged back and kissed his forehead.
"So I'll come over to get you around noon." Will said as he put me back down.
"Goodnight." I said as he walked back to his car.
"Goodnight." He said as he got in his car and drove away.
As he drove away I went back inside and said goodnight to my mom. I went upstairs to my room and sat down on my bed. I sighed happily and flopped back onto my bed.
"I'm in love."
