#1 of A Destroyer's Heart

This is the beginning of a new series I am writing starring the Dragon Ball Super character Beerus the Destroyer God, an original character called Nene, and their misadventures and budding relationship. I hope it is a pleasure for readers to read as it will be for me to write it.

The universe flew by him in all directions as far as his vision could see. He flew through nebulas, stars, planets teeming with life, and even entire galaxies filled with so many celestial bodies. So much light that filled up what was the black void of space was a wonder to behold.

Was this truly real?! No...it couldn't be. He had never once gone into space. He had only heard stories about it from Goku and his friends who had witnessed such wonders...such tragedies in the cosmos. This was most certainly a vision. While he became more self-aware of his dream, he decided against rousing from it to see where it would take him.

He was coming to regret it when everything around him became a blurry tunnel of light and darkness as he felt his spirit be pulled towards an unkown destination. Along the way he received visions of Goku and his gathered friends and family facing off against some cat-like being. There were even more visions of Goku achieving immense power, a battle for the fate of the Earth, and a painful sorrow beyond belief as Earth disappeared into nothingness.

Finally, the visions stopped as his dream brought him to a strange structure floating in space surrounded by planetoids. It looked like an upside down pyramid with a massive tree on top. As he tried getting a better look at the alien structure, he felt his spirit be pulled forward in a blinding rush into the structure by an indescribable source of power until he stopped to come face-to-face with the very same cat-like alien he saw Goku face off against in one of the earlier visions. Those piercing yellow eyes looked surprised about as much as how he himself felt being in front of him now.

The only thing he could think of doing was slowly reaching out to cup a hand on the purple cheek on the alien cat's face to see how real it felt. The alien being in front of him seemed startled by this before his face turned to a look of malice as he then reached out to grab at the Earthling who dared touch him!

"...Lord..."

"...Ne..."

"...Bee..."

"...ne..."

"...rus..."

...

...

"Lord Beerus!"

"Nene!"

And now both of them were pulled away from each other to be called back to their respective, waking lives. Not knowing that their fates were now intertwined with each other from then on by forces maybe not even a god or the universe could hope to understand.
