The Zootopian Experiment Chapter 11

(Judy Hopps)

As I was waiting in the waiting room, when Doctor Lango came up to me and told me, "if you want to see Nick you can. We just disinfected him, so you can't touch him, but he also seems to want to talk to you." I quickly got up, happy that I could talk to him, before his surgery where he probably doesn't want to talk.

When me and Doctor Lango walked into one of the hospital room. I saw Nick completely soaked and in a hospital gown. Their Nick said, "Great Carrots, I am donating a kidney, and you got to stay dry. I believe that they must hate foxes." I laughed a little bit, but quickly got back on track.

Doctor Lango said, "I am sorry, about having you take the bath. The bath is just a minor disinfectant bath used to disinfect you. Nothing to do with us hating any species." Nick answered back in a sarcastic way to me, "Even worse they take my jokes seriously, again you owe me one." I just laughed again, and hugged Nick.

After a couple of minutes of talking, then Doctor Lango said, "sorry to bother you two, but it is time for Nick to have an operation." As I said my goodbye, and started to leave. When Doctor Lango told me, "I understand if you want to wait until the operation is over, but I will be keeping Officer Wilde asleep after the operation, the reason is simply, he will be in a lot of pain, so letting him heal I feel would be the best decision, at least for a few hours."

The next morning, when I arrived at the precinct. I talked to Clawhauser, kind of hoping he was able to get me another day off. Clawhauser said, "Sorry Judy, I was not able to get you today off as well." I assured him that, it was not big deal, while heading to the Bull Pin. At Bull Pin, people were talking about, news that the ZPD was in need of more police. At about 7:30, the hippo called us to attention.

When Chief Bogo, entered into the room, he immediately started, "quit, you have your assignments, at your seats, so you may all begin. Hopps, I need to talk to you, so meet me in my office after the briefing." As everyone started to leave, I tried looking for my case but could not find it, I decided he must of decided to give me a run down, on the case.

When I got to Chief Bogo's office, Chief Bogo told me to enter. When I entered his office he begun, "Hopps, I decided to take you off of field duty, at least until Wilde has recovered. You will, be doing recruiting, at the schools." Wondering, why I was moved to recruiting. Recruiting, was one of those light shifts, mostly for expecting mothers, or animals who will be retiring soon.

I decided to asked, " Chief Bogo, I am thankful that you, considered me for this honor. Yet, why did you choose me? I, have proven myself to do extremely well in the field, and their are many other officers, who are older and getting closer to retirement." I thought, that I presented my case quite well. Hopefully, he would probably reconsider, on putting me on recruiting duty.

Chief Bogo looked at me and answered, "to be honest a couple of reasons, first of all, you are emotionally unset with your partner in surgery. Another reason is, our police force is getting into older, and we need many more young cadets, and that younger students usually respond better with younger officers. Finally and this is the most important reason, and that is, because I told you so." I accepted my new assignment, and realized that I could never win in an argument with Chief Bogo, but also that he said that Nick, was my partner, not my friend or former partner.
