You stir to life, dazed and confused. Uncertainty washes over you as you clutch your head... and find it wrapped in... cloth? Bandages? You're not sure. Your vision is obscured, though between the slits you see the room is lit.

You don't remember your name.

Your senses catch up to you. Whatever you're laying on is reasonably comfortable, though if it's the surface or the excessive amount of clothes you're wearing, you can't quite make out. Whatever is covering your nose smells a little - you presume it smells of you. Alongside your muffled breathing you hear a dull hum.

Luckily, your body functions as it should. You sit up and with your bandaged fingers, widen the slits covering your eyes to absorb your new environment.

The Apartment is small and scarcely furnished. Kitchen, living room and bedroom are all merged into one unit. The bed you're on appears to be the room's couch. The pale light emanates from the lamp on the nearby kitchen table and a lamp stuck to the ceiling.

The dull hum emanates from a r** efrigerator which alerts you that there is a refrigerator in the room. You spot an oven and a sink. There is a chair by the small kitchen table , on which rests an envelope**.

A writing desk occupies the space next to your bed-and-couch, sans chair, its surface bare. The desk has two drawers , one on each side.

You spot a minuscule alcove that you have just named the entrance hallway. You get up - which makes you dizzy - and find a hatstand keeping two closed doors company in the alcove ( entrance hallway! ). Next to the hatstand is an unaddressed box.

You stand alone in an unknown apartment. What do you do?

Welcome to an interactive story by yours truly. As I have never done anything like this, I apologise in advance for any early installment weirdness that might occur. As we journey into the strange, however, it is my hope that we achieve a suitable level of consistency.

HOW TO PLAY

Comment below with suggested actions for our hitherto unknown protagonist. I will then advance the story with said suggestions.
