The scene starts with a rather plain looking ferret, about six foot two from nose to tail tip his eyes a soft brown matching his marbled greyish brown fur nicely. Next to him sat a rather angelic artic fox, her fur a pristine white. The odd feature was her pure white feathered wings, sprouding from just between her shoulders, her wings folded against her currently, standing almost as tall as her new friend. Both sit near the desert line, the wind's blowing hot and dry ruffling her feathers and fur as he sits almost in her lap snuggling close the sun setting low. The soft scent of flowers drifting to his nose as the wind shifts bringing the scent's of the oasis directly behind them.

Softly the Ferret smiles and strokes over his new friends soft wings the fox shivering and spreading her pure white feathered wings out surrounding her new companion. His tail twitches against her leg a soft chittering sound coming from him as his muzzle rubs softly along her chest the warm fur brushing against his own eyes closing tightly. Brian's tall soft body presses firmly around her's paws stroking lightly over her left hip and lower back. Her soft voice reaches his ears over the passing wind.

"Brian sweetie, maybe we shoudl retreat to the cave, I think this storm will be picking up rather quickly."

Looking up he sighs softly half in love, half sad that he will miss the setting sun over the distant dunes. But he slowly stands up helping his vixen to her feet gently brushing off her long flowing tail and smiling as he also gives her soft furred rump a gentle brushing making sure the sand is out of her perfect fur. Nodding he takes her by the paw the wind shifting yet again bringing with it the salty stench from the dried up river not but three miles away. Ducking his head low he enters the barely five foot tall entrance to his home. Leading her around the two rather sharp turns till the tunnel opens into a large room lit with the soft glow from the lamps set in the hard rock.

"Nora do you really think this is okay? I'm of the desert, your of the sky..." He trails off his voice low but still echo's off the cavern walls.

Moving towards the small pool set off from the rest of the Oasis, the same pool she found Brian soaking in after ducking into his burrow to escape a storm just two day's before this. Softly he lowers himself into the pile of fur's and rugs crafted by his own paw out of the hides of the beasts he hunts out in the waistlands. She follows taking a piece of bread from the table and sinking down into the rugs with the ferret smiling and stroking over his belly with her free paw just below his loin cloth.

"Brian thank you for taking me in, I don't think this is wrong. Our people may be fighting but I don't think it will last long." She sighs softly after speaking her tail curling around his legs.

Just moments after the ground starts shaking the storm reaching the oasis and ravaging the tree's throwing their fruit into the sands burying them to form new tree's in hope the fertile land spreads outward the storm lasting just a few second before passing overhead. With a deep regretful sigh Brian rises up and smiles softly at the vixen before walking towards the pool dipping his paw in and taking a quick drink. Slowly he turns to her and winks then walks out as she tears off small pieces of the last piece of her native food.

As he exits the tunnel he spots two pieces of fruit only a few paces out into the still strong winds. Ducking down falling to all four's he crawls forward his cloak blowing in the wind wrapping around him as he shivers hard the air growing cold quickly the sun blocked now by the dunes the air growing cooler with each passing second. Reaching forward he snatches up the fruit befoer it is fully buried in the sand dragging it with him slowly working his way back to the tunnel. Letting out a soft gasp he looks up at the soft whistling as it draws near an arrow planting itself right next to his right paw. Quickly he darts forward spotting at least two winged fox desending through the winds as if angels decending from the heaven's looking exactly like his own angel.

Quickly darting down the tunnel he turns back the sound of rustling behind him knowing he has the advantage below grounds but having left his weapons behind in his den he rushes forward. Bursting into the dim light his angelic vixen rises up sensing his panic and spreading her wings out to an impressive twenty feet. Each wing tip brushing either side of his den as she moves to the center of the room. He grabs up Nora's bow throwing it to her along with the slight quiver of arrows. Deftly catching her dark bow she raises it up grabbing a single arrow letting the rest fall to the ground she aims at the entrance.

Suddenly the first of two of her clan'smen burst through the entrance arrow drawn right at Nora the arrow tipped with a deadly looking jagged tip looking much like a bolt of lightning. Nora aim's at his head growling deep her voice soft yet demanding seeing his sash and knowing she easily outranks this scout soldier.

"Drop your weapon and leave instantly." She demands loud, seeing the other fox stalling his companion bumping into him from behind soft curses heard from the entrance.

The male's eyes widen his wings folding as his weapon lowers wings folding up like a pup who just got caught getting into his mothers pantry. Spotting the ferret out of the corner of his eye he raises his weapon again growling and pointing the arrow at Brian's head. Nora does not falter her arrow flying forward piercing the bow and snapping it in half sending the male fox's arrow spinning wildly out of control smashing into one of the lamps breaking the fragile glass sending sparks and flaming drops of oil splattering over his den catching his woven trunk the grass and braided wood catching fire quickly.

The first fox steps forward letting his companion into the room, the seocnd one seems just as shocked as the first to find Nora standing with her bow pointed at him having already grabbed up another arrow. The ferret working his way slowly towards her a short curved sword in one paw and the common jagged curved dagger of his kind in the other.

"This is your last warning, I demand you two drop your weapons and leave this den I will not fail with my next shot, You both will die by my paw."

Looking at Nora they exchange low whispers then drop arrows, and the remaining good bow to the ground knowing they can not out shoot this one. The two males drop the arm's to their sides and folds wings in tightly, tails curling between legs backing out to the entrance yet not leaving.

"We know who you are, You are no longer welcome within our home. Consider yourself an outcast for protecting this desert trash." The elder of the two growls out before they back out leaving the den as commanded.

With a heavy sigh Nora drops her bow paws shaking hard, her eyes moving to Brian as she falls to her knee's in the pile of fur's. He does not look back at her splashing water out at the fire dousing it well enough to finally reduce it to a smolder and then watching it go out. Standing up he sniffles wiping his nose on his cloak looking around his den ruined his valuables having been damaged inside his make shift trunk. Looking up he turns to her running to her side as she weeps softly wrapping him in her arms soon as he's within reach holding tightly. Nora's wings droop seeming to wilt like a flower in the desert sun.

"Brian... Please don't leave me, I'm sorry I had to protect you." She cries out softly eyes fading from the pure blue to a lighter green then to a bright yellow.

Holding tightly to Nora he shakes his head his nose softly pressing against her ears as his paw strokes lightly over the base of her wings, the feathers darkening to a steel grey wings seeming limp and loose as she just gives up her eyes closing weeping softly against his side holding tight, barely letting him kneel down to kiss her softly on the cheek.

"Don't worry, no matter what happens to you I won't let you go." His eyes tearing away from her ears and closing as well holding his fallen angel against him knowing now that she will never be allowed back into her own home...

(sorry this is much shorter than I expected, but at this time it was more or less a flow of emotion I had to let out. I am hoping that I will be able to write more in the future.)
