#19 of Redwall

All of Redwall was getting ready for the Great Feast Day. The residents of the Abbey never had to worry about food shortages, as they had adequate space on the grounds for planting orchards and crops, and the pond provided them with fish that they would eat on such a day as this. Life was peaceful, plentiful and prosperous at Redwall Abbey.

Creatures from all over Mossflower Woods and even beyond that would be coming this day to join the Redwallers in their feast of plenty. With such a large influx of beasts entering the Abbey, everyone who was of age and strong enough to help with the preparations was required to do so. That wasn't a problem to the creatures of Redwall, who prided themselves in hard work and good moral character. After all, their great ancestors would have never been able to build such a fine structure as Redwall Abbey if they had been lazy, indolent creatures who simply wanted to loaf all day.

Abbot Mordalfus, the successor to Abbot Mortimer, was busy overseeing all the preparations. As leader of Redwall, he was responsible to make sure that everything was going according to plan. He'd sent creatures out for firewood for the kitchen ovens, while others had been ordered to help with the cooking. Several otters were out in the Abbey pond catching fish. Normally there would be but a single fish that would be caught for the feast, but this year the Abbot was expecting a bigger crowd than ever before in living memory of any creature. With the defeat of Slagar the Cruel and Cluny the Scourge, the peaceful woodlanders felt more at ease to travel freely throughout the land.

Some dibbuns ran by the abbot, who noticed that they looked like they were up to something, as dibbuns usually were. He ran after them.

"Hold on there, little rogues," said the old mouse.

The dibbuns, two mice, an otter and squirrel stopped dead in their tracks. They knew better than to disobey their Father Abbot. Mordalfus looked at them and saw they had some things tucked underneath their habits. He folded his arms and tapped his foot as he glared at them.

"Alright, what are you hiding underneath those habits? Come on. Let's see it."

All five dibbuns did as they were told, removing the concealed items from underneath their habits. Abbot Mordalfus was appalled when he saw that the sneaky little brats had gone into the kitchen and stolen recently prepared food. He shook a reproving paw at them.

"Shame on you," he said. "You know better than to steal food from the kitchens."

They all hung their heads in shame, knowing that they were without an excuse for their wrongdoing. Abbot Mordalfus wasn't done with them yet.

"I want all five of you to march your tails back to the kitchen and return that food. You'll also tell the cooks what you did. I'll let them decide what your punishment will be."

The five dibbuns turned around and walked back to the scene of their crime, but were not looking forward to having a judgment ruled against them by the cooks, who would undoubtedly be most upset to hear what they had just done. Abbot Mordalfus shook his head, wondering how five little dibbuns who looked so innocent could do such a rotten thing. He thought back to when he was their age. He would never have even thought of doing something like that, knowing that not only would the abbot of the time have been disappointed in him, but also because his strict father would have taken a hickory switch to his tail. He thought of his late father and how the old mouse had helped shape his character to become the beast he was today. If it had not been for those harsh lessons, perhaps he would not have become the Abbot of Redwall.

"Ah, Matthias," said Mordalfus, seeing the Champion of Redwall walk up to him. "Just the mouse I was looking for."

"Hello, Father Abbot," said Matthias. "I saw a group of dibbuns walking by looking like they were going to their execution."

"They might wish they were going there," said Mordalfus, shaking his head in disgust. "I caught them trying to sneak food underneath their habits. I was none to happy to see that."

"I would think not," said Matthias. "What are you going to do with them?"

"That's up to the cooks," said Mordalfus. "I'm sure they'll be more upset than I was to learn that their hard work was stolen by five little dibbuns."

"I see now why you said they might wish they were going to their execution," said Matthias, chuckling.

"Ah, are we being too soft on the dibbuns these days?" said Mordalfus. "Why, if the Abbot of my day had caught me doing such a thing, he would have dragged me by my ear to my old father and he would have whacked my backside so hard I wouldn't be able to sit down for a week. That certainly kept me on the straight and narrow path."

"And made you into the mouse you are today," said Matthias. "A mouse that I'm proud to call my good friend."

"Thank you, Matthias," said Mordalfus. "And I can say with pride that I and our dear, late friend, Abbot Mortimer and I, and many of the other brothers of the Abbey helped shape you into the mouse you are today too."

"Of that I have no doubt," said Matthias. "By the way, I came to ask you if you wanted me to do anything in particular to help with the feast."

"Oh," said Mordalfus. "I suppose we could find you something to do, although the Champion of Redwall shouldn't be burdened with having to perform such menial work."

"I'm not above getting my paws dirty, Father Abbot," said Matthias.

Mordalfus smiled proudly. "Just what I knew you'd say, Matthias. I have indeed helped you build the great character that you possess today," he said. "I suppose you could help bring up some of the barrels of drink we have down in the cellar. Go see Brother Ambrose. He'll let you know what all needs brought up for the feast."

"Of course, Father Abbot," said Matthias.

Ambrose Spike, the hedgehog cellar keeper of Redwall Abbey was busy looking at a piece of parchment when Matthias came to see him. Looking over his spectacles, he smiled warmly at his friend. Matthias smiled back, happy to be there to assist in whatever work that needed done.

"Matthias," said Ambrose. "What can I do for you?"

"On the contrary," said the mouse. "What can I do for you?"

Ambrose nodded approvingly. "Ah, why how good of you to come see old me to ask what service you can be. Let me see now," said the hedgehog as he read down the beverage inventory. "Here we are; we still need two barrels of elderberry wine, one barrel of October ale, and two barrels of strawberry cordial brought up to Great Hall. Would you be so kind as to fetch them for me?"

"I'd be honored to, Brother Ambrose," said the mouse. "I'll go to the cellar right now."

"Thank you, Matthias," said the hedgehog.

Matthias walked down the stone steps into the torch lit cellar of Redwall Abbey. No matter how hot it got outside it always remained cool and dry down in the here, even during the hottest summer day. Matthias rather liked the climate where the barrels of drink were stored, as it was a hot summer day in Mossflower Country. He decided that he would first soak up the air down here before fetching the needed barrels. He sat down at the bottom of the steps and noticed even his rump felt cooler being against the cold stone surface.

Content after a while that he had spent enough time relaxing, he got up and went to work retrieving the needed barrels. He remembered the order that Brother Ambrose had told him; two barrels of elderberry wine, one of October ale and two of strawberry cordial. He thought it best to get them in that way for fear that not doing so might somehow cause him to forget what the hedgehog had told him. He knew just where everything was stored, having helped Brother Ambrose in rearranging the cellar alphabetically only two seasons ago. He got the single barrel of elderberry wine first and knew that it would be heavy, but he didn't let that bother him. Though a mouse, being the Champion of Redwall demanded that he be in peak physical condition. Bear hugging the barrel, he made his way up the steps and to Great Hall, setting it down with the rest of the barrels of elderberry wine. He made four more trips back and forth between the cellar and Great Hall, and by that point he was out of breath and sweating. He knew what to do. He would go back down to the cellar to cool off.

Still sweaty and panting, Matthias was relieved when he was finally able to sit down on the cellar steps like he had done prior to bringing up the barrels. The cool, dry air felt even sweeter to him than before he taken up his task of barrel retrieval, but rather than sitting on the steps, he chose to lie down on the cellar floor so that his body might better cool off.

"Ah," he said, feeling the cold floor through his habit. "If I'm not careful, I might even fall asleep down here. It feels that good."

Matthias closed his eyes as he felt the cold floor soak into his fur and cool him down. It was so pleasant, so quiet down here all by himself. He thought about spending more of his free time in the cellar when the weather was so hot outside, but just as he had said, he felt his eyes getting droopy. He yawned as sleep was ready to overtake him.

A grunting noise from somewhere in the cellar brought him out of his near slumber. Sitting up, he looked around, wondering just where it came from and who was making the noise. He heard it again! He could tell that it was coming from somewhere over by the south wall of the cellar. Rising to his paws, he made his way over to it, but for reasons that he couldn't quite rationalize, decided to proceed in silence. He snaked down the aisles of barrels, hearing the sound getting louder and louder. He crept down when he thought he was close enough to the sound which was getting very loud at this time. Moving his head up again, he saw Basil Stag Hare with his back to him. The big hare appeared to be shaking his right paw up and down.

"Basil?" said Matthias.

The hare yelped and jumped inches into the air as he turned around. Matthias yelped at his reaction and was shocked to see that the hare was sporting an erection.

"What are you doing down here?" asked Matthias. "Why is your penis hanging out like that?"

"Sorry, old chap," said Basil. "But with all these creatures running 'round the Abbey, a lad can't find a proper place to pleasure himself, wot, wot?"

Matthias shook his head. "Oh, Basil," he said. "You were doing that down here?"

"Indeed, old thing," said the hare. "Nice and cool down here. Thought it a good place not to get overheated, eh?"

Matthias chuckled. "Good point. I came back down here after I carried up those five barrels for Brother Ambrose."

"I saw that," said the hare. "I was hoping you'd finally finished up yer haulin' of barrels so I could get the place to meself, wot?"

Matthias looked down in between the hare's legs. Clearly the great glutton of Redwall Abbey didn't have a problem standing with his penis hanging out in front of another male. That got the Champion of Redwall wondering something about Basil.

"Basil," said Matthias. "I can't help but notice that you're standing here with an erection in front of me and you're not even bothering to try and conceal it."

Basil looked down at his endowment and back up at Matthias. "Well, if you don't mind hearing an old officer's confession, me boy."

"Go on," said Matthias.

He could see the hare getting red in the face, not with anger, but embarrassment. "Thing is, I kind of prefer the company of other laddies than I do the lassies."

"Is that so?" said Matthias. "I never knew."

"Now you do," said the hare. "Hopin' I can trust you to keep that just between us, wot?"

"Not a problem," said Matthias. "Can I make a confession to you now?"

"Oh?" said Basil. "And what, pray tell, would that be, eh?"

"I've got feelings for other males too," said Matthias with a mischievous grin.

Basil was shocked. "You're puttin' me on, chappie! You're married to Cornflower too"

"Not at all, and who said I can't like both male and female?" said Matthias. "I've known I've had that attraction since I was a dibbun, but well . . . you know how some beasts are."

"Sure do," said Basil. "Why do you think I've been tryin' to get meself some privacy?"

"Would you like to get some help too?" asked Matthias.

Just when Basil couldn't be more surprised, his male mouse friend was now offering to service him. Folding his arms and with his cock sticking straight out, he had a look of joy on his face.

"Why, be glad to have you slob the old knob, wot!"

Matthias laughed and got down on his knees in front of the hare. Basil's cock was far larger than his own, but that didn't bother him in the least. He'd been wanting to try this for seasons, but never knew the right beast to ask without the possibility of being exposed. Finally, here her was, pleasuring his friend Basil. He first licked on the big cock but quickly opened his mouth and took in what he could. The hare groaned out loud, but put a paw over his mouth for fear that someone else might catch him. Matthias tried harder and harder to get more of the big, fat hare cock in his mouth as he slobbered away on it. Basil had to push his paw harder on his mouth as his groaning got louder and more intense. Matthias was having no regrets about this. He was glad that his first time pleasuring another male was with someone he considered a friend and not just some stranger. That made this all the more enjoyable, and meaningful to him. Basil felt the same way, and with his free paw, he rubbed the mouse's ears to show him affection.

Matthias kept going harder, deeper and faster on the hare's pride and joy. He was having a delightful time pleasuring his good friend. Basil kept breathing through his nose since he had his paw covering his mouth to avoid making too much noise that might lead to being detected by some other resident of the Abbey. The big hare had frequently gone out during the night to meet up in certain places in Mossflower Woods where many other males seeking male companionship would gather, but it had been a while since he had been out there, so he really needed this kind of attention from Matthias. There was just something more satisfying to getting pleasured by another male than there was to using your own paw.

Matthias could hear Basil making even weirder noises than before and knew he was close. The Champion of Redwall worked even harder than before to give the hare something to remember. Putting both his paws over his mouth, the hare moaned at the top of his lungs as he shot his load, sending stream after stream inside the mouse's mouth. Matthias gulped away at the hare's seed, careful not to overdue it or choke. With Basil drained, he let the quickly softening cock slip out of his mouth and rose to his feet.

"Feel better?" he asked the hare.

"Infinitely so, laddie buck," said Basil. "Oh, I bet the feast will be starting up soon, eh, wot?"

"I think you're right," said Matthias. "Better get upstairs before everybeast starts to wonder what happened to us."

"Ah," said Basil. "The feasts of Redwall Abbey. Can't decide which is better, the food, or getting' a good old cock-sucking from you, laddie buck!"

Matthias laughed as they headed up the stairs. So, he'd finally been with another male after wondering what it was like. And knowing that Basil would certainly want more at a later time, he knew it wouldn't be his last time either.
