After we got home from lunch and took a well-earned nap, I awoke to find that Toby had gotten up before me. Sunday afternoon was the time he usually worked on math, so I was not surprised to find him in the office, with his nose in a book and a pencil in his hand.

"Hey, babe," I grinned as I entered the room.

"Mornin' love." He looked up at me. "Man, you have some serious bedfur. It looks like you went to bed wet after a shower!"

"I know. Must be because I was sleeping next to such a hottie. It made me sweat, and that messed up my fur. But I wanted to get a kiss before anything else," I grinned and smooched my lover. "Alright, I'll see you in a minute."

After I cleaned up in the bathroom and put on some sweatpants, I came back into the office for another kiss. The pile of "done" pages was growing, which meant Toby was working on particularly complex math, that took about a page per problem.

I tapped his shoulder. "Look, I don't want to interrupt because you're working hard, but we do have something to consider."

"What's that?" He set his pencil down and gave me his full attention.

"We got an invitation for another session with The Druff," I reminded him.

Toby smiled. "Yes, and we still need to discuss the first one, really."

I nodded. "And since it's our night to host the gang for dinner, I'd rather do it now, than wait until they all get here."

"Yes," Toby agreed. "Good point. So... well, we never really talked about playing with him ahead of time, but it was clear we were both okay with it. But we did make that rule for a reason: no unplanned, surprise thirds. It's for the health of us as an us."

I wagged my tail slowly. "I have no regrets."

Toby took my paw, his eyes on what he could see of my swaying hind quarters. "Neither do I. But now what?"

I kissed his paw. "Well, we did win that hotel stay." My tail began swaying faster on its own.

"I can see you like that idea," said Toby. "Honestly, so do I. So tomorrow in class, shall we invite our erudite instructor to join us?" He waggled his whiskers at me.

"Yes, let's." I stepped in, so that my thighs were touching the edge of his chair.

Toby looked up at me, and kissed my chest. "When do we want to do it?"

My tail stopped swinging as I considered this. "That's a good question. Let's look at the calendar and decide after game night. You need to keep working on math, if you're going to get it done before everyone arrives."

"Sounds good." Toby stuck his nose back in the book.

"Hey!" I said.

"Hmm?" Toby looked up at me.

I leaned down, putting my muzzle near his. "I get a kiss first, before I go out to the kitchen to work on dinner."

"Whoops! Yes, you do." He kissed me. I was expecting a quick peck, but he surprised me, putting his paw behind my head and holding me as his tongue swept over my lips with a rumble from deep in his chest. My tail wagged furiously, thumping the edge of the desk, as I suckled on his exploring tongue. Just as I was about to lose my balance, he finally let go and drew back. "Ok, off you go so I can get my work done."

"Yer," I said, only half-pretending to be dazed. "Shee ya." And with that, I left the room.

Dinner turned out great. I started with a cranberry and pecan salad for the ruminants, and for the cats, birds, and myself, I breaded and fried some chicken and whipped up a simple variant of General Tso sauce. Everyone would also get vegetable fried rice, though I cheated and made this from a package. I gathered that the discussion had been dealt with long before I joined the party, but beef was never served when Jack was in attendance. Had that not been the case, I would have made Mongolian beef, as it's much easier than General Tso's chicken. Roger was a falcon, though, so most poultry remained on the list of edible foods, as long as it was non-sentient foodstuff.

Dinner went well, and we decided to try a new game that evening called Twilight Imperium. It turned out to be quite complex, and took up the entire dinner table. Everyone had been given a copy of the rules to review ahead of time because they were long and had lots of side notes, but we still went through them together as we set up the game board. By the end of the night, we had built the galaxy we would be playing in, and everyone had claimed their planets. But we had only managed to get about two moves in each before the end of the night. Toby and I promised to eat on the couch for the next week, and we would host game night until the game finished. But to save our budgets, everyone else said they would still bring dinner when it was their official turn, so we wouldn't have to worry. Roger's turn was next, and he asked if he could work in our kitchen. It would be much easier, he said, to haul raw ingredients than the final product. Toby and I saw no problems with that.

Charles and Tiffany left first, since both still had some homework to finalize. Jack was still studying the game board, but Roger was about to follow the cats out the door when I grabbed his shoulder. "Hey, Roger, hang about a minute. We have a confession to make."

"Oh, what's that? Decided you don't want me setting off your fire alarms next week?" Roger was an excellent cook, but he liked to cook with super hot oils, and when he'd shake them, they would give off huge flames that would build up a lot of smoke over the stove.

"Haha! No, nothing like that." I grinned. "But we left you out of a plan that you'd asked to be included in. To be fair, we saw that you were looking to have a much later night than us, so we decided to let you sleep in today. But Tob' and I were awake super early this morning thanks to an unscrupulous neighbor, so we called up Michelle and went to church with her and Jack. We're sorry to have left you out, but it was a last minute plan."

I saw a twinge of regret in Roger's eyes, but it was gone almost immediately. "Hey, I get it. And it was a long night for me. You could have called, but I probably would have said 'wan morrr sleeeeeep.'" Roger said this with his eyes half closed, and finished with a fake yawn. "So I forgive you."

"Phew!" Sighed Toby.

Roger looked at us in earnest. "So how was it?"

"It was..." I struggled to find a word.

"...Breathtaking," finished Toby.

"Or breath-giving," teased Michelle.

"Or that," grinned Toby.

I smiled. "Right. I haven't discussed it with Toby yet, but I think I'd like to go again. Won't leave you out next time, either. I promise."

Michelle looked incredibly pleased.

Roger nodded. "Sure, that'd be great! When do you think you'll go?"

Toby intejected. "Might go next week?" He looked at me.

"Yeah, that soon," I agreed.

"Works for me," said Roger.

"Max will be so happy to see you guys back," said Michelle. "A lot of people are scared away when their first time is during an event like today's. But right now, I need my big, strong Bull to walk me home, so I can finish my essay before bed. Come on, Jack!"

The big, strong bull in question came over from the designated game table. "Happy to escort my beautiful mare home, lest she become a damsel in distress." He smiled and kissed her.

"Speaking of," I grinned and turned back to Roger. "Any new development with your friend?"

"We'll see," cautioned Roger. "We hit it off pretty well, but we were both indicating before the dance that we'd like to stay just friends. Haven't checked back with her, though."

"You must have hit it off," teased Toby. "I heard your date was still going strong when Charles and Tiffany threw in the white flag, and they were there super late!"

Roger fluffed his wings, the avian way of blushing, and just grinned.

"Alright, don't tell us," said Toby. "But we expect a full report should the 'just friends' status change."

"Of course," said Roger.

I nodded, "After all, we'll need to get another chair, and find one for Charles and Tiffany's place, too, if she does become your girlfriend!"

"Oooh, yeah, there is that, isn't there?" Roger pondered. "I promise, if it goes there, I will alert everyone in time!" We could see by the smile on his face, that he hoped it would. There was an exchange of hugs and shakes all around, and then Toby and I were left alone in our suddenly quiet apartment.

"Sooooo," Toby said.

"Sooooo," I echoed.

"Looked at a calendar, yet?" His arm went around my waist, and he gently guided me away from the door.

"Nope, haven't had a chance," I replied, following his lead to the bedroom and catching light switches as we passed.

"How about Black Friday," suggested Toby. "Neither of us is a big shopper, and this would be a fun way to avoid the chaos. We could check in Friday before rush hour begins, and then sleep in on Saturday. And with the break, I'll have my homework done ahead of time. Think you can get the time off from the gym?"

I considered this. "That's awful late notice for a major holiday, but I can ask. I haven't heard that anyone's going out of town, so I should be good. Maybe I can do an early Friday shift for someone who wants to get their shopping in early, and they can take my evening shift."

"As long as you don't tire yourself out," cautioned Toby. His tail was flicking in that predatory way he got whenever he thought about me and sex at the same time. "It would be no fun to go, and just have you sleeping while Druff and I sat in the hot tub, watching you snore."

"That's what naps are for," I kissed Toby's cheek, then began to pull off his shirt, revealing his sexy, striped torso and running my fingers through his belly fur.

"Fair enough," he grinned, and kissed me. "So, tentative invitation tomorrow after class, for Black Friday."

"Sure, thing," I said as Toby pulled my shirt off and tugged my sweats down.

Before nine-thirty, we were stripped down and in bed, but since the first thing we had on Monday morning was History, and that was right before lunch, we usually didn't fall asleep on Sunday night until well after midnight. Which is why we liked to go to bed early.

Before class the next morning, I called work and got the okay for time off if I couldn't trade my usual Friday and shift that weekend (my Saturday shift was late enough it should not be a problem). Meanwhile, Toby called the hotel with our gift card to make sure the suite would be free. It turned out, someone else had just canceled, so it was indeed available. The only thing left was to invite our third.

It was hard to concentrate on class that day, since I knew what would be coming after. Professor Druff was his usual, enthusiastic self through class, but when he called on me a couple times, I was slow to answer, and my answers weren't very good. I could tell he was confused and disappointed. When class ended and everyone filed out, neither Toby nor I made any rush to leave. Tiffany saw this and hung out by the door. Well, it seemed, we were about to reveal this to our group, after all.

The professor came over. "Mister Craig, you seemed rather off, today. Is everything okay? I hope things haven't taken a turn for the worse in your legal matters with the Cheetah?"

I looked up at him. Still seated at my desk, he seemed to tower over me. Professor Druff was already quite tall, for a tiger, and as foxes tended to be shorter, it made me feel very small, indeed. He seemed to sense this, and turned one of the tiny desks around so he could sit in front of me bringing his face closer to mine. I could smell that musk and cologne mix that was such a turn on. Swallowing, I cleared my head and answered, "No, sir. That's still in proceedings. I did get a letter this week about the proceedings back in Garden City, about the guys who beat me last spring. But that was just a progress update on their trial dates. The magistrate wants to try them all at once, and there's only one more guy to catch. I might have to go back to Utah mid winter, if they get him. Otherwise, they've set it for springtime whether they get him or not."

"That is good news," smiled the big Tiger. Is that what distracted you?"

"No, sir." I looked at Toby, who nodded. "Uh, we, that is, Toby and I, had discussed something that happened at the dance over the weekend. You see, we met Queen Elizabeef and her poet laureate, William Drakespeare. And we were to set up an appointment to get together with the poet."

Professor Druff laughed quite loudly. "Is that what's got you so out of sorts? Well, and if you were to meet Mister Drakespeare, when would you want to get together with him?"

"Well, Thanksgiving break looks good," said Toby. "We've got a spa suite booked at the AmericInn North."

"Indeed you do? Well, when he comes all the way from England to see you about the poetry, that will be most courteous," Professor Druff grinned broadly.

"Yes. And the idea of meeting him was pretty distracting, today." I smiled. "Surely, you understand?"

"Indeed, Craig, I do," said Professor Druff. "Well, I happen to know Mister Drakespeare, and I'll pass the message along. Shall I have him call you to finalize details?"

"That would be great," said Toby.

"You have my number, right?" I had never given him my number; I just hoped he had saved it from when I called him about the meeting.

I was not disappointed. "Yes, when I asked you to call me about meeting at my office, I saved it."

My tail was thumping the sides of the chair behind me. "Excellent. Thank you, sir."

The Druff stood up. "Now, you'd best be off, yes? If I recall, you have work on Monday after my class."

"Yessir," I grinned, picking up my books. "Thanks for your help with Mister Drakespeare."

"It is my pleasure, I assure you." Did he just leer at me? I couldn't be sure; it was pretty subtle, but still...

At the door, Tiffany shot us a weird look. We made it to the hallway and the door clicked behind us. "What was that all about," she whispered, glancing over her shoulder to make sure the door was, indeed, closed.

I just grinned. Toby answered. "Well, uh, let's just say, I got my answer to the questions we had about The Druff at the beginning of the semester."

"What?" she cried. Then looked around and said quietly, again, "How did you find out, and what's that got to do with meeting a four-hundred-fifty year old playwright?"

"Did you see The Druff at the dance," Toby blushed. His tail was fluffed, and I could see the pink in his ears.

"He was there?" Tiffany's eyes got wide. "That's who was dressed as Drakespeare? Who was the queen?"

"Never did find out," I smiled. I could feel a blush rising in my face, too, as Tiffany put two and two together. Specifically, us two and those two.

"Oh. My. God." Her eyes got quite wide. "You didn't... is that why you left the dance so early?"

We had reached the door to the building, so I waited to hold the door for everyone before answering. "No, I was just getting tired. It had been a long day," I answered. "But we had our answer earlier than that. Remember when we met Druff at the restaurant after the Yena Matthews concert?" It felt weird, filling Tiffany in like this. I felt like we'd betrayed the group by keeping it from them for so long. Toby was silent; he must have felt really guilty. His tail was wrapped around one leg as he walked.

"Uh-huh," Tiffany answered. I could hear the suspicion in her voice.

"He slipped me his phone number. When I called the next day, he made it sound like he wanted to check in with me on what had been going on with Michael. But then he invited us to his office over Fall Break. There, he, uh, answered our questions as to whether there was any truth to the rumors."

"You mean he..." Tiffany couldn't bring herself to say it.

"Look, this really shouldn't get around the campus," Toby cautioned. "It could be bad for him, and for us."

"Is that why you haven't told any of us, yet?" Tiffany scowled.

Toby justified. "Well, we haven't found a good way to bring it up. This is a big deal. Maybe Sunday, when we've got privacy, we can tell everyone. Can you hold it in until then?"

Tiffany looked between us. "You're defending him, so he didn't force you. Right?"

I shook my head. "No, he didn't. In fact, he made sure we consented before he did anything."

Toby added, "But we're pretty sure he had it planned. There were... a couple things prepared. Like, a damp towel for cleanup."

"My god, guys!" Tiffany's eyes were big. "This is a big deal."

"I know," Toby sighed. "But we're all adults, and an agreement was made."

"And now you're going to do more," Tiffany prompted.

"Mmmaybe." I grinned. This time I was at full blush.

Toby interrupted with his paw on the door of the cafeteria. "Look, Sunday. Okay, Tiffany? We'll tell you all the details you want when we can do it in the privacy of our apartment. I promise."

"You'd better," said the panther. Her tail was lashing, giving strength to the threat behind her words.

"We will!" we both said at once.

"Okay, then!" And we went in to get lunch.
