Hey folks here is the reboot of my old story Code Oblivion a spin off of Nex_Canis's Jacob Reaper series as you see there are some differences (Jacob being renamed Noah instead of Kaelan) Code Oblivion should be taken as simply an alternate timeline and ultimately has little effect on the story in Nex_Canis's Reaper however it has it's own multiverse though currently Phantom Chronicles is the only story within the 'Oblivion Verse' hope y'all enjoy

Code Oblivion: Rebellion (reboot)

Prologue: The Rescue

MODD Secret Lab #23: Greasham, Weleshna

The wolf just sighed as he started at the boy in front of him. He was in charge of research and the younger wolf was both his patient as well as test subject. He was a handsome boy, tall for a seven year old with shiny black fur, striking blue eyes and a shock of startlingly golden blond hair. Said hair was mussed and somewhat unkempt and those striking eyes were empty as the boy stared off to space whatever mind the boy had at one time had been lost a long time ago leaving the shell of a boy to just sit there and stare into space with those empty eyes.

It was eerie in a sense he remembered the rebellious fight the boy had in those eyes when he was first brought in and he hated himself for aiding in the once bright boys destruction but he had a plan.. One he was planning on doing tonight, it was dangerous he knew and it would most likely get him killed but he despite himself found himself to have developed an almost paternal feeling of love for the child, he had never married himself and had no children and what family he had he rarely spoke to. Maybe he could give the boy a new life? With a strained smile the man patted the boy on his head gently and spoke gently.

"Hey son, me again you eat?" He asked gesturing to the half eaten food on the table next to him. The boy's empty eyes just flickered up to the man's face but didn't react otherwise. "I see you did, good boy!" The man said as he patted the boy on the head again and gently mussed up the young wolf's already messy hair. "Just need to take a bit of your blood is that okay buddy? No tests today for you!" He said while he gently brought out a needle and stuck the boy with it to draw out his blood. True to form the boy didn't react and instead just stared at him. "Good pup, that's all for now I will see you later!" The man said as he put the needle in a vial and walked out of the room only to walk into a towering Doberman. "Ah, Captain Jamison what brings you here?" He said in a mildly shocked manner as it wasn't often the Commander's second in command came to the lab.

"Commander Galloway wishes to speak to you, he didn't tell me what exactly but he said to have you meet him at the Commander Office immediately." He said before he gave a look towards the door and sighed and shook his head. The Wolf knew Jamison had a son around the boy's age so it was an obvious strain for the man when he was visiting here. "How is Subject 538 doing? Is he still unreactive?" The man said in a sad voice?

"Sadly yes, no real reaction and barely an acknowledgement of my presence and didn't react at all when I took his blood... but why does the Commander want to see me? He hardly ever comes here even less than you."

"He didn't give me a reason but said he wanted to see you I would not make him wait very long my friend." The Doberman said before saluting the man before walking off. Looking towards the room one last time before walking away from it reluctantly he wondered if Commander Galloway had caught wind of his plan? What would he do? Arrest him? The child was important for reasons he wasn't fully sure of but it mattered naught he hoped that the Commander hadn't figured out his plot, more for the boys sake than his it really didn't matter to him if he got hurt but he just wanted to get the boy to safety and maybe give him a normal life.

After several minutes of walking he found himself in front of a large heavy metal door bearing both the MODD insignia and the Greasham Branch of the MODD Special Forces Symbol gulping he knocked on the door and a booming deep voice came from behind it.

"

Come in!" The voice shouted out and he entered to see a towering bear sitting at a equally large desk. The man was dressed in a heavy black trench coat with the GSF logo on the front. It had golden markings all over and on the shoulder was the Rank marking him as a Commander. Conway Galloway the Elemental Lord of Earth and one of the longest serving Commander's around and a well respected figure in Mortaelian society and probably the only reason Weleshna's weak central Government hadn't collapsed by now especially with the Inquisition Forces ravaging the Southern parts of the Country.

"Good seeing you Commander... you call me?"

"Yes I did, I want to talk to you... according to sources you were planning on stealing Subject 538 tonight am I correct?" He said in a blunt tone though the wolf could not tell if there was anger in the voice but his voice still hitched nervously.

"Commander I can explai-" He said before he was interrupted.

"Please let me finish Professor, I know you are planning on spiriting him away... and want to help you in doing so."

"Co-Commander..." the Scientist blurted out in shock. "Wha-what did you just say? You are willing to let me escape with one of MODD's most valuable test subjects? You are one of the Elemental Lords one of the Twelve Commanders that control the MODD Special Forces and you are willing to help me steal one of the subjects you are supposed to protect? What if they find out? What about the Other Lords?" The bear simply shook his head and sighed.

"I am a father myself Alistair." The Bear said, saying the Wolf's name for the first time. "I see how you interact with the boy. You treat him like a son, don't lie you do and you know it. You planned to steal him away and raise him as your own, I only wish to aid that... and I got approval from all the other Lords... we all decided to help in stealing the boy away from here... none of us agreed with the abduction and experimentation... and I was good friends with the boy's father.. So I can't bear to see the boy suffer more, so take this." The man said while handing Alistair a packet. "This is everything you will need. We have constructed an entirely new identity for you. Everything about you will be completely erased it will be as if you never existed."

"But what about my family?" Alistair blurted out.

"The story we will tell them is that you died in a tragic lab accident to them you will be dead. We planned everything well in advance once you leave here you will effectively be erased from history. Your new name will be Bryan Littlesea. You will be living in Crosstown you moved there to start a new life with your adopted son and wanted a quiet you will have a job lined up at the local hospital. Commander Winthrop has connections within the Vernati Medical association. All the degrees you earned will also be transferred into your new identity and once again any mention of your old identity will be erased from the databanks " The man said calmly. Alisister could only look in shock at the package. Sure it was probably better for the boy but the thought of abandoning his life, his family and his own identity but he knew it was for the best for the child himself.

"If you are sure... I will take your offer..." Alistair said as he reluctantly took the package. "Thank you Commander Galloway, I will raise the boy as my own and will raise him well." The wolf said while bowing his head in respect.

"I will provide a car for you two, the guards have been removed from his room for the night so you will have ample time to get him out of here. There will also be a car waiting for you at the Vernati International Airport. It will be yours to keep and use as you see fit. Inside the glove-compartment will be the address of your new house as well as the dead to it and papers for your job. Also, there will be adoption papers for the child all you need to do is add his name to it and it will all be official.

"How did you manage all this? How long have you known about my plan?" The Commander only let out a great chuckle within his deep chest before he spoke a small smile.

"I had known for months, as Elemental Lords we all have very high level connections to various connections within the Mortaelian Governments."He said laughing. "I can make the Prime Minister of Weleshna do handstands on live tv if I wanted to. Especally since we all know I am the only thing keeping his Government from collapsing." Alistair could only blink at the image of Prime Minister Ibrahim Nejem doing handstands given the iguana was morbidly obese. Getting serious the bear only sighed and stared right at the wolf. "Now, you are dismissed Alastair, be sure to make it out of here by tonight. A van will be waiting for you by 20:00. Have a nice Mr. Littlesea." The man said before he saluted the wolf and Alistair left the room still shocked at what he was actually agreeing to do. He was abandoning everything he knew for a child he barely knew but he was doing it willingly. In all fairness the boy was probably the only thing he ever looked forward to he often worked late so he rarely did much besides sleeping.

First thing he did though was go to his lab and grabbed his life's work a vial of bright green serum that he had worked on for decades a serum that when perfected could help erase traumatic memories. He had intended for it to be used for Soldiers suffering from PTSD but he had only perfected it recently and had yet to do any actual testing on Fur's but he was positive it would work on the boy. Before he left though he took all the other vials and poured them down the sink and erased all the samples and took to his computer and printed everything out before erasing it completely making sure nothing would remain so nobody else would be able to use his research. With all that done he took the papers and walked out. As the Commander promised there was nobody around was around the room and he was surprised when he heard light humming coming from the inside. Walking in he saw the child eyes closed and humming lightly to himself but once he heard the door open the eyes opened and once again those bright, blank eyes stared at him.

"Hey buddy, I never heard you hum before." The man said as he placed the vial into a syringe behind his back. "I need you to close your eyes for a second okay buddy?" The boy gave a tiny almost unnoticeable nod before closing his eyes. "Good boy," Alistair said as he patted the boy lightly on the head before he took the syringe and stabbed it into the boys neck. With a pained yelp the boy went very still. A flush of guilt spread through him as he checked the boys pulse and breathing which were both normal. With a sigh he picked the boy up and wrapped him in a blanket before carrying him out bridal style as the boy slept in his arms. Taking the route that the Commander had instructed him too so he would avoid the cameras and eventually found himself in the parking area and when he stepped into the building he heard coughing and was surprised when he saw a familiar doberman

"Captain Jameson!" He said in a surprised tone not expecting the towering Doberman to be his guide.

"You have the boy?" He said before peering at the covered up boy before nodding. "Good, get in the car." He said as he pointed to a nondescript car getting in the car they drove off. The ride was silent as they drove at least an hour to the airport in Epona. Cuddling the boy to him he stared at the doberman wondering what was going on in his head. From all he knew of the man was that he was a true MODD loyalist to see him doing something like this was extremely out of character for the man. As if sensing the other man's questioning gaze he sighed and spoke.

"I am a Father, seeing the boy suffer like he did bothered me to my core and when Commander Galloway asked me to aid in his plot I lept to aid him. I hope you and the boy have a good life together, treat him well Alistair." The man said as he pulled into the airport. "Here we are!" The man said as he brought out several large bags. "Here, these bags are clothes for both of you, and here are your tickets." He said as he also handed him some tickets for him. After a few minutes the man helped them get their bags checked in and set them off into security. Sending them off with a salute he disappeared into the crowd as Alistair got himself through security still carrying the young wolf boy in his arms and got onto the plane.

After several hours the plane finally landed in Vernati the boy not stirring the entire flight and still hadn't stirred as they landed and he put the boy into the car and started driving. Crosstown looking at his GPS was about two hours away from Vernati so it was a good drive for him. He was frankly exhausted but he kept himself strong and eventually he finally pulled himself into a modest one story two bedroom house. Exhausted he carried the boy into the smaller bedroom, Once he did so he went to the master bedroom and collapsed into sleep.

The sleep felt like it didn't last long at all when he heard crashing in the next room alarmed he rushed with a gun he had been provided with and found the boy had awaken looking wildly around in confusion. Calmly Alistair walked towards the boy and laid a paw on the boys shoulder.

"Calm down child."

"Whe-where am I? Who are you...? Who... am... I..." The young boy asked in confusion. Smiling the man gave the boy a kiss on the forehead.

You are my son, I adopted you after I found you in the woods. Do you remember anything?" The boy only shook his head. "Do you remember your name?" Another head shake. "Do you want me to give you one?" this was a nod. "Fine then... How about Noah? Noah Littlesea? That sound nice?" This got another nod. Smiling Alistair... no... Bryan his name was Bryan now... and he would raise this boy as his own. Holding the boy close he hugged him. "I love you Noah... and I swear I will protect you with my last breath." He said as he continued to hold his new son.
