First off, I don't own any Chars in Digimon series and other nicknames that were included on this story. However I do own a human named Alphonse and Sarah Revenant his human mother. I apologize first hand if there are spelling and grammar error on my writing, because my English was my second. I must inform that the previous chapter were warned that it was a non-furries story, so I rewrite the whole Chapter to make it 50% or more contain furry. Anything else, please enjoy.

Chapter 22 (Revised): Changing Side.

Al was completely angry because of what happened today. He just found out that his friend happened to be the same person that bullying him all his school life. He was so angry that Minomon, the pupa like Digimon, woke up because of the ruckus. Minomon asked in surprise never seen Al this mad before. "What's wrong, Al?"

Al looked at Minomon and his anger slowly faded. "I'm sorry, little Minomon. Did I wake you up?" Minomon nodded with fright. "I'm sorry, little one. It's just that I have found out that my friend happens to be the one that hurt me in school and I was completely angry."

"You mean, BlackGabumon?" Minomon asked and Al nodded. "Why did he hurt you?"

"Sometimes, human hurt others just for fun, little guy. And it is not nice to hurt others without reason." Al explained Minomon because he didn't know how human behave.

"That is almost the same as bad Digimon in my world." Minomon replied after understand the concept.

"You could say that." Al was confused by his answered but ignored. "Come on, are you hungry? I think I have some fruits at the fridge. I hope you like them."

Minomon hopped on to Al's arm and headed out from his room together. When both of them headed to the kitchen, Al heard the key door has been unlocked. Al is in panic now because he knew who the person that comes home is. "Oh no, it's mom."

Al was about to run back to his room, but it was too late because she saw Al holding Minomon in his arm.

Sarah saw his son was standing at the kitchen door holding something. "Hello dear, I didn't know you're home already and that's a nice plushy you have there."

Al was stammered and panic at his mother's appearances. "Hi mom, you came back earlier than I expected and yes this is a nice plushy. I just got it at the store."

Sarah entered and locked the door. "I've never seen one in my life, can I hold it?" Sarah asked and without giving Al the answers she took it and looked closely at Minomon who she thinks it's a doll.

There was an awkward silent for a moment and it was broke by Sarah's smile. "Aw... it's so cute." Sarah snuggled Minomon real tight which gave him a groan of pain. "Did you say something, dear?" Sarah asked but again she heard another voice, a childish voice to be exact and it was coming from Minomon.

"Ouch... that hurt." Minomon said in low voice. Sarah was surprised to hear that, or worst seeing that the doll is actually a living being and a strange one too. Without any moment, Sarah suddenly passed out.

Al dragged Sarah to the couch and let her rest there and called Kari about the recent incident and need some advice on how to handle it.

Minomon is quite sad and afraid because this simultaneous incident happened when he is around. "I'm sorry, Al. I killed your mother."

Al was surprised by what just Minomon said and smiled at his misunderstand. "No... no, you didn't kill her. She was just shocked to see you. Things always happened to human if they see something that was unusual to them." Al explained to him and hugged him lightly. Minomon starts to cry on Al's shoulder

An hour past and there isn't any answers at his Terminal yet since he sent the urgent message. Minomon is asleep again tired from crying. He started to get panic because Kari didn't answer his call. His panic starts increasing when he heard a knock at the door. He put Minomon on the couch and headed to the door. He looked through the peeping hole to see who is knocking and to his relief it was Kari and Takato.

He quickly opened the door and hug Kari. He started to cry because of all the stress piling up in his chest. "I'm glad that you guys here. I don't know what to do. I'm so confused." He said it in between sob and slowly kneeled down getting weak from the tension.

"Its okay, Alphonse, just relaxes and tells us what happened." Kari picked him up with the help of Takato and brought him into the house.

Al started explaining from the point after he received the homework assignment, being bullied by the trio, realizing that his friend was one of the trios to his mother discovered that Minomon is living being. Kari and Takato looked at each other in full of concern by his story.

"Alphonse, we have a little confession to make." Kari started the stories of them.

"We, as the Destinies, can't hide the truth completely." Takato continued.

"What do you mean?" Al asked.

"Even though we swore secrecy, their families knew about our existence and accept us as it is." Gatomon explained from her D-Server.

"What...?" Al asked in completely disbelief.

"It's the truth, Al." Guilmon said it in a sad tone. "Takato's mom and dad accept me for who I am in the family. They even feel sad when we left."

"Left, you guys have left before?" Al asked.

"More like, we are staying at our own world back in the past." Gatomon answered, "So that we keep the balance between our world and our partner's world."

"Sounds to me like, you were being force to be separated from each other." Al explained it in short. But the silent has been given by the Digimons. "I was right about one thing though. The question is will this occur to Soul as well?"

"When the time comes, yes it will happen." Takato replied.

"Who is Soul?" Kari asked.

"Soul is my partner's new name." Al answered in a sad tone.

"Now that you mention it, where is he?" Takato asked.

"He is on the couch, either sleeping or hearing our conversation and crying again." Al answered. Al left to fetch the little guy on the couch, and he found out that he is awake and crying. Takato and Kari took out their partners.

"I'll go get the food, while you try to wake her up. We should discuss this properly with her." Takato told Kari what to do, and went out to grabbed some food from the car.

Kari tried to wake Sarah up with the help of Gatomon tickling her nose with her tail for a couple of time.

Al cradled Soul that was still crying because of the news. Guilmon try to comfort the little one. "There... there... little one. That time won't be coming for all of us yet, so cheer up and enjoy being together okay." Soul looked at Guilmon still sobbing and nodded.

"Thank you, Guilmon. I don't know how to handle this situation, yet." Al thanked him for calming Soul.

"It's okay Al." He replied with tail wagging left and right.

"MONSTER!" Al heard his mother scream out loud which makes him and Guilmon looked at her and Soul getting tensed up again.

Sarah looked at his surrounding and quite surprise to see a familiar guest. "Kamiya... What a..." She wanted to greet Kari but was stopped when she saw a giant white cat, a red dinosaur lizard and his son Al hugging a huge cocoon like insect.

Sarah wanted to scream again but it was stopped by Kari. "Calm down, Mrs. Revenant. Relax. They won't hurt you." Kari said trying to calm her down but to no avail.

Takato entered at a strangely the right time to see that Sarah was about to scream again. He quickly closed the door and put down the groceries and rushed toward her and held her tight with his hand on her mouth. "Relax, Sarah. Everything is okay. These creatures aren't going to hurt you, so just calm down and don't panic." Takato told her followed with nods from Guilmon and Al. "Now, promise me that you won't scream and we can explain this whole situation thoroughly." Sarah nodded quickly because of her panic stated.

When Takato released her mouth slowly, she started to scream again and Takato hurried himself to close her mouth again. "You're not helping us. We promise there won't be any trouble, if we talked nicely. Now please, help us out here." Sarah was still panic but when he looked that Al nodded, she agree to cooperate. Takato loosen his grip slowly. "Now, where do you like to start?"

Sarah asked many things especially the Digimon that she called monster. Takato try to explained everything in detail and understandable. Kari asked Sarah to lend her the kitchen so she can cook some dinner and Al helped her out. Guilmon, Gatomon and Soul were playing around killing some time till dinner is ready.

Kari started the conversation with Al trying to distract his sadness. "So, any idea what will happen to your mother?"

Al was washing some greens when he was asked. "Well, my mother really hates animal; I'm the last of the family she has; I can guess that she disapprove about me becoming one of you guys. And just what I want Soul to became part of the family." Al answered shedding some tears again.

"I know it's hard. My brother told me that I was the one who cried very hard when we were apart." Kari tried to comfort him with her own sad experience. "But who would have thought we meet again after being apart for five years." Kari gave him a smiled.

"I'm happy for you, Ms. Kari." Al gave her a forced smile and continued washing the green, "Especially Gatomon." He added in whisper.

Not a moment later, both of them heard a loud voice. "I am not approving this! What kind of lunatic are you, sending an innocent boy to that dangerous place?"

"We know it was crazy, but we experienced it once before and we change. As a matter of fact, he agreed to help us at his own will." Takato answered.

"Does he know the consequences or the danger he'll be facing?"

"Yes, he does. In fact, he defeats most of them on his first incident. What's more, he even saves us from danger once before he joined in. He has the potential to save this world from danger, Sarah. All of us knew this and support him."

"God, I don't believe this. Alphonse, come in here." Sarah called him and Al went to the living room feeling guilty for not telling her. "Tell me that what he just said was a lie?" Al kept silent. "So are you saying that you accept the offer?" Al nodded. "Why?"

"It's because of my ego, mom. I just wanted to be somebody else; helping people, even saving people from danger. I just wanted to be like them because they were my idol. I hate being my old version, always grieve, afraid, and alone. Since I'm become one of them, I feel that emptiness has been filled up little by little. It's was risky but it pay the prize, and I don't want to go back."

"Why did you say something like that?"

"Because it's the truth; that is what I felt; that is what I experienced; and it's painful." Al replied in a sad tone. "I finally got myself a partner, a close friend that could help each other in happiness or sadness. I even want him to be part of the family, mom. I know that you hate animals but I can't leave him." Al wanted to cry but Guilmon, Gatomon, and Soul comfort him.

Sarah lowered her head completely confused on how to react. "It's finally up to you, mom. If you want him to leave then fine, but I have to go with him. He is my partner. He is like my other soul."

"If that is what you wish for, dear. I won't object anymore." She replied in defeat. "Does that... er, does he have a name?"

Al was happy to hear his mother's answer. He answered her with a smile. "His name is Soul."

Sarah, Al, Takato, Gatomon, Guilmon, and Soul are enjoying Kari's homemade dinner. It was the first time Sarah and Al taste the Japanese food. The taste was very rich even though she used less spice in cooking. The feast was lively that they completely forgot about the time. The senior Destinies bade Sarah and Al farewell and left.

Al introduced his Minomon named Soul to his mother properly and told her about how he met him. She understand that Soul is still a child with full of curiosity and agree to guide him. Everyone starting to get tired and bade good night. Al remembered that he still had homework to be done so he finished what he had started and went to bed with Soul cradling in his arm.

At school, Al was completely refreshed because he felt so happy about last night that he enjoyed the class without problem. At lunch time, he worked out his English homework but was interrupted by the trio bullies.

Al told them that he have grown tired of this routine and he doesn't want to be bothered again even if he have to earn it by force.

Toby and Lenny walked away from Al because he is no fun anymore. But Jake remain as he was and looked at Al. He wanted to say something but was ignored by Al. Jake wanted to apologize to him but it's hard to reach him at the moment. The only way he can communicate with him is by the game. He hoped that he will listen or read it at least.

Inside the game, Al is doing some solo hunt at the weaker area in order to hone his experience little by little. Thanks to his slow progress, he can finally evolve into another form. He selected that form and in a blink of an eye, the transformation was done. There stood his new dinosaur form with orange scales, white stripes, horned skull helmet, and an oversized stomach...? 'Wait a minute... this isn't the form that I've been through during that incident.' Al looked at his status and saw the new species name called Greymon. 'I guess either there are no forms of that or was it because of the virus inside my PC?'

A moment later, he received a small mail at his screen. 'A mail? Who could it from?' Al opened the mail and read it. It was an apology letter from Jake.

Al read the letter. 'Al, this is Jake. Look, I know that you still mad at me about bullying you and hitting you hard. And as a friend, I'm truly sorry. Please forgive me.'

Al was having a conflict whether to ignore the mail or to reply the mail and hear some explanation. He replied the mail and told the location he's in right now.

15 minutes later, Jake was running toward him with his old form the BlackGabumon. "Al, thank you for... whoa." He was so surprise to see Al's new form. "I see you've been working out alone." Jake commented.

"If that is what you like to say, then I'm leaving." Al began to walk away but he was stopped by Jake.

"Wait, Al. Look, I know that I do bad things to you with Toby and Lenny, and I'm sorry."

"Why should I forgive you, in fact why shouldn't I leave you?"

"Because I will be lonely again. I said that I have a short temper, right? Everybody scared of me because of that and it was Toby who accepted me and become his friend."

"And then what; help him doing those bad deed?" Al asked in ager tone.

"If I don't do it, Toby will leave me alone."

"Now you had me as one of your friend, why don't you leave him? He gave you bad influence and reputation." Al saw that Jake lowered his head in shame. "Look, a real friend will never hit others without any reason; real friends never abandon others; and lastly real friends protect each other." Al continued trying to comfort him. "Do you still remember about what we did when that virus attack? I protect you and you protect me, even though I did it because it was my duty."

"But in the end you protect me most with virus still infected your PC. I thought that you were dead back then and I felt guilty."

"At least I'm still here, alive and well. So what are you going to do now? I could introduce you to my friends, if you feel lonely when you leave Toby. What will you say?"

"Can I be your friend again?" Jake asked with a timid sound.

"I can't, because we are partners in this group. We always stick together no matter what." Al answered with a smile and giggle.

Jake was so happy to hear this because Al accept him as his friend again. So they continue leveling up till their stomach growled telling them that dinner time is near for that day.
