Drive.

Part 1.

By: Wolfie Steel.

I sit waiting in the foyer for the best part of five minutes before a smartly dressed Fox approaches me, he gives me a quick once over with his eyes and then holds out his right paw to introduce himself.

"Hello there, you must be Mr. Trent Gardner, I am Liam Prince and I'm the PA for Mr. Locke."

I take the Foxes paw into my own and give a hefty shake which earns another appraisal from the Vulpine, Liam then continues to speak.

"You will be looking after the day-to-day well being of Mr. Locke with respect to both keeping him safe and getting him from place to place. I will warn you right now that Mr. Locke is not one for taking any shi... I mean nonsense, but when it comes to his personal safety he will let you take the lead on that."

A thought crosses my mind, _oh great, not only is he a prick but he is a pompous prick at that,_for obvious reasons I keep the thought held deep within my mind.

"Okay Mr. Gardner, I will take you to meet the boss."

The Fox leads the way and continues to speak as we walk.

"When I first started working for Mr. Locke, ooh I guess it must have been ten years ago now, well at first I considered him to be a sanctimonious, stuck-up, and hard-nosed bastard, probably the thought that is going through your mind right now, however, two weeks ago something happened that gave him a course to reevaluate his life."

The Fox slips his right paw into his jacket and takes a piece of paper from the inside left pocket and hands it to me, I unfold the paper and find that it is pretty much a standard death threat made up from bits of old newspaper and magazine cuttings, obviously not a very original concept.

"If I may ask Mr. Prince if Mr. Locke is such a hard-nosed piece of work why would getting this pretty amateur looking death threat cause him so much grief?"

The Fox it seems was waiting for me to ask that very question and he was ready with the answer.

"With Mr. Locke's position as CEO of the Atlantis Banking Group, his home address is known to no one, he does not even have a mailbox, and usually all of his mail gets directed to his office here, however, the envelope that the letter came in had both his full name and home address on it. It was then stuck to the bars of the gate at the end of his driveway; he found it when he opened the gate to make the drive into work."

So somebody knows who Mr. Locke is and what he does for a living and they know where he lives, somebody out there has done some serious homework, my appraisal that this person was an amateur now does not ring true at all, we are dealing with a professional, to be honest I don't know how far this person will take things, after all, it could be someone trying to get a large amount of money out of Mr. Locke in which case they will most likely visit him at home, of course, there is also the possibility that the person has had dealings with Mr. Locke in the past and has had their fill of his shitty attitude and wants him dead and will probably stop at nothing to accomplish their goal.

We arrive at the doorway to the office and the Fox gently taps the door, once he is given clearance to enter he leads me inside and let me tell you this much the smartly suited guy sat behind the desk is causing me so many problems right now.

To say that it was almost like looking in a mirror would be an understatement as the guy is a Rottweiler just like me and oh lord he is drop dead gorgeous. I try to clear my mind as the Fox begins to introduce us.

"Mr. Jason Locke this is your driver and protection detail, Mr. Trent Gardner."

I have very keen hearing and I am pretty sure that I heard a quiet appreciative growl come from the other Rottweiler's muzzle, but I pay it no mind as I walk towards the desk with my right paw held out.

My paw is enveloped in his own right paw and we share a firm but respectful handshake, Mr. Locke now dismisses the Fox and we are left alone in the office.

"Please, Mr. Gardner take a seat."

I do as I am asked and take a seat, fortunately, the top of the desk is a little higher than the seating and so I am hoping against all hope that my erection is being hidden from his view. Once I am seated the Rottweiler continues to speak.

"I have no doubt that my PA has given you all of the details, hell he probably even told you that I have a bit of a reputation for being a bastard, well that is the way that I do business and I must admit that I have let it spill into my personal life too, but all of that changed when I found that letter stuck to the gates at the end of my driveway at home. I don't mind telling you that knowing that there is someone out there who knows so many details about me has given me many sleepless nights."

It is now time for me to pitch in.

"Well Mr. Locke, yes your PA has told me that you can be...difficult at times but if I am going to be working for you that will come to a stop, I am here to get you from place to place in comfort and safety, you may be the CEO of this company but when you are with me I will be the one in control, what I say goes, hopefully, that sits okay with you sir?"

The Rottweiler stays silent but he does nod to acknowledge that he has accepted what I have just said, I then go into detail about what we both should expect from each other.

"I will be on call for you 24/7 when you are travelling to meetings as long as I know where we are going in advance that will be fine if you are travelling for personal stuff like going out to a nightclub then I will need advanced notice of the name and address of the nightclub or venue, I have very good instincts and if I think that a certain venue or club are a little risky then I will not be driving you there. If you decide to drive there yourself that is fine by me, but that will then end our contract."

A sly smile breaks out across Mr. Locke's muzzle as he makes his reply.

"And to think, Liam accused ME of being a bastard; compared to you I am a pussy cat, but all joking aside, you have my word that I will behave myself before I received that death threat I would not have taken a barrage like that from anybody, so yes I will give you a list of the places I need to go."

I cross my arms across my chest and then go in for round two.

"That would be appreciated, thank you, now as for your home I would like to check it out for security and will probably want to make a few improvements, I can only offer you so much in the way of protection so I will need to back it up with an up-to-date security system, there may be other things that I will need to change but I will give you a report on those."

Again Mr. Locke nods his head and then presses a button on his desk intercom and calls for his PA, seconds later the Fox is back standing beside me.

"Liam, I want you to postpone the two meetings that I have for today and reschedule them for Friday, for today I will be at home with Mr. Gardner going through the improvements that he will want to make to my security."

The Vulpine simply nods his head and then heads off to make the changes. With the Fox gone, Mr. Locke leads the way from his office and I take up my position behind him, I stay so close that my paws could accidentally brush against his beautiful bubble butt, but the need to remain professional takes centre stage in my mind.

We arrive at the car and I step around the Rottweiler to open the car door for him, with the door open he slips into the rear seat, he then looks around the rear cabin of the car.

"I bet you have some real hot parties in the back of this thing?"

I blush massively but I know that the only way to tell is with the tips of my ears, I just pray to god that he doesn't notice it as I get into the rear cabin to show him the array of buttons situated in the roof of the car above his head.

"Okay Mr. Locke, from left to right the first button is a rocker switch, push it down to lower the left power window and of course push up to close the window again, next to that you have a button that just says 'MIC' on it, if you press that it will allow you to talk to me up front, then you have another rocker switch that has 'CENTRE' on it, that is the dividing window that separates the cab from back here, next you have a switch with a light bulb on it, that is for the interior light, and then finally there is another rocker switch for the right side power window. In front of those switches is a stereo which you can have it set to radio, CD, or if you have a memory stick full of music you can plug that in too, as for the disco lights I control those from my cab so while you are my passenger I won't put them on."

My fellow Rottweiler's eyes fall upon the drinks cabinet at the opposite end of the cabin.

"If I have a meeting that you are less than comfortable with would I be able to host it in here?"

I give him a gentle nod as I reply.

"I keep the drinks cabinet fully stocked at all times but I will only unlock it when it is needed, now I will take us back to yours and then set about making any improvements needed."

Mr. Locke just tips his head forward slightly and I back out of the rear cabin and head towards the driver's seat, once I am seated I use my own microphone to ask Mr. Locke to make sure that his seatbelt is fastened and then I watch for the dashboard light to extinguish before I pull away from the curb.

As we drive back to the home that will be my new residence for the near future I cannot help but think that this assignment is going to be the one that tests me to the limit.
